Total life counseling has the warmest receptionists in the business. Personally I come to every appointment 20 minutes early just to chat with them, they are the best!🤣❤️ Their choice in background music is so soothing and always makes my visit! I cant imagine what TLC would be like with out the backbone of their business, these outstanding young men and women, who call themselves: receptionists.

TLC has been such a great thing for our nephew we got custody over. Brandon has helped walk him through a lot. He’s 12 years old and going from worries of power being on and which parent was in jail. Now he’s been going for the last few months and he is understanding he can be a child rather a grown up. Brandon has gotten him to open up and learning to communicate with us. I have been seeing Anna for about 8 months now, when I originally started seeing her I was lost anxious depressed and just overall did not see what the point of life was. She has taught me so many amazing tools to help with my anxiety and depression, shes given me direction when I need it, told me when im not coping in a healthy way and always makes me feel heard understood and validated. We also do EMDR every once and awhile which has helped a lot with my traumas. I genuinely owe so much to Anna because without her I would not be in the place I am mentally, I have never felt this happy or free in my entire life. I am getting to know who I am more and more everyday. I 100% recommend TLC, Anna especially but the all of the staff are very nice and welcoming. Overall my experience here couldnt be better.

Anna Vita is an amazing counselor. She is compassionate and empathetic and kind. She helps one think of things they wouldn’t normally and is a great help in my self growth. She is a great partner for the change in myself I am looking for. I think she would be extremely helpful to anyone who comes to see her. I recommend her highly. Why walk your path to self discovery alone? You could have an excellent navigator along the way.

I do not recommend being an intern at total life counseling. I was an intern here during my junior year of being an undergraduate. I didn’t learn much and they just made me do the work that the administrative assistants did not want to do, such as scanning papers all day. Even though I completed 30 hours I never received a letter of recommendation because they require you to complete 240 hours which is ridiculous. I’ve completed a total of 100 hours at 3 different locations and got 3 letters of recommendations. I wish I could give a better compliment on the mental health services they provided but they did not allow me to observe as much as I could have. There’s better places who show you the respect that you deserve. Jim West never even acknowledge me when he would walk through the doors. The only nice person I interacted with was the office manager.

Anna introduced me to EMDR. EMDR is a client driven process. Going through the process is an ongoing journey of self discovery & healing. After several weeks of EMDR, I now have a positive outlook on life. I feel renewed with more clarity, self- awareness, & empowerment. Thank you Anna for guiding me through this process.

The staff here is very kind and they have helped me so much and I’m glad that I was able to find Total Life Counseling! When thinking as a 19 year old making a transition into adult hood, Jim West and TLC were able to help me see a different path to take and has lead me into a career and a future I wouldnt have foreseen without there help. Jim helped my teenage daughter get her life back. She was on numerous medications to help manage her mood swings. With Jims guidance we were able to put together a specific strategy for her growth. She is off all medications and thriving. She is much more clear headed and taking responsibility for her actions.

We started seeing Jim West last year, at the suggestion of our wonderful holistic doctor (who also works in conjunction with Jim). His expertise in child ADHD/Autism has helped immensely with our 6 year old twins behavior issues. He doesnt focus on changing the children, but more equipping parents with an arsenal of tools to help handle any given situation in a calm, effective manor. He is incredibly thorough with his advice and even goes the extra mile to email the suggestions talked about it in the session, which allows for a refresher in remembering what to say and do when situations arise. I have learned so much from him and it has made a HUGE difference in how we handle things at home, and, in turn, how our children respond. Its truly made us more responsive and understanding and less reactive, which ultimately has cultivated a calmer household. I HIGHLY recommend Jim West to anyone in search of help with parenting special needs children. He is a true gem in our community.

We started going to Jim West because our 3 rd grader with ADHD was struggling with teasing in school. Kids would make fun of simple things and he just couldn’t deal with it. We had a couple of private sessions with Jim and joined the social group where he played with other kids his age and practice the new skills. Now almost 2 years later our son loves going to school. Is A Honor rolls. Has lots of friends, very confident and loves going to school (on most days). We appreciate Tim helping out son plus us as parents the skills to deal with different behaviors. Also lead us in right direction to have boy tested and taught us resources that Orange Country has which I believe has helped him with his academic growth.

I have been seeing Anna Vita for about three years and she is one of the best counselors I have ever worked with. Anna really helps you see things inside yourself and helps you realize that you have the tools to improve yourself. She introduced me to EMDR therapy which has been a truly life changing method for me. I highly recommend Anna to anyone who is experiencing PTSD, depression and/or anxiety, she will help you change your life for the better, and for good.

There are no words in the world to thank Jim West enough for the huge impact that he makes in our son life since he started the social skills groups 6 weeks ago. Our son is more focused at the school’s tasks and he has not showed any behavior at school. He is happier now and less anxious.

I worked with Jim and his team in a professional partnership. Each summer Jim would bring groups of children to the summer camp I was directing for 1 week. I was able to witness first hand the positive impact his counseling services were having on each of the campers who attended. Total Life Counseling listens to your issues and then pairs you with a therapist they think would work best for you. I was assigned to Teresa and I couldnt have been happier! She was so kind, patient, and understanding. She was a sympathetic and supportive person who I could trust and talk to about anything. I really needed that in my life at the time. I dont live in Orlando anymore, but she is still the best therapist Ive ever had.

As soon as we become parents there seems to be an internal switch that flips within us igniting a desire to be better... better parents, better role models, better people in general. However, unlike our profession, most of us are never properly educated or obtain that expert status in these precious areas. That is where Jim West, and his team at TLC, comes in. Over the years Ive watched videos, read books, and talked to several professionals on the topics of parenting and relationships. To date I have never met a more warm hearted or knowledgeable person than Jim. He is someone that you cannot help but genuinely like and, more importantly, his creative techniques and methods yield amazing results.Several years ago, after relocating a few times, our young daughter found it challenging to make the adjustment. Heck, I guess we all found it a bit challenging. Rather than tiptoe around the issues, we reached out to Jim and he offered some of the best guidance ever. His wisdom during that period helped steer everything back on track and running smoothly. Not only did Jim offer great techniques but he was able to give us a better understanding of the phycological and physiological impacts of virtually every change in our life; from dietary to environmental and beyond. From time to time we were also able to casually talk with other parents and heard nothing but sheer gratitude for Jims role in their family. And, as you might expect, our daughter and the other kids felt just as warmly about him as we did.There is really not much more to say. Life is filled with countless forks in the road and obstacles to navigate. Having someone like Jim West in your corner astronomically improves your ability to successfully navigate that road. People place so much value on making the right investments, the best improvements to our homes, and the right career choices. In my opinion, the benefits from these areas simply pale in comparison to what you will personally gain from your investment in Jim and TLC.

During the several months that I worked with Anna in Orlando I was introduced to many helpful and life impacting techniques and perspectives that have helped me to calm my mind and grow in clarity. Through mindfulness practice and meditation that Anna helped me work with, I am now able to welcome challenges and thoughts with a more peaceful awareness and I have become significantly more compassionate towards myself as I maintain a much stronger focus on the present moment.

My daughter has been seeing Anna Vita for PTSD for a few years on and odd. Recently Anna recommended a new type of therapy to her. EMDR - eye movement desensitization reprocessing. Anna has bonded well with my daughter and she trusts her recommendations. She has had two visits and feels this will be a good choice.My daughters main goal is to get off the heavy medications that have been prescribed to her. She does care for the way they make her feel. She wants to move forward and live a normal healthy life. Very disappointed with Jim West. He really doesnt try to understand where youre coming from or try to listen to you. All he does is care about putting money in his pocket and being right all the time. I dont know how he stays in business. He should be shut down and reported. Hes arrogant and argumentative.

I adopted my son at 5.5 and Jim and Jamie were a huge part of our first couple of years. We started with behavior group and outings that Jim lead and my son had huge social gains and I also gained skills on how to help socially grow. He had extensive trauma so we also started seeing Jamie for play therapy and she identified some of the experiences she thought he had based on his play. I spoke with his biological grandmother a year later and was explaining some of the things that had happened to my son and Jamie was spot on. Not only did they help us with emotional struggles but Jim referred us to a doctor because he suspected food sensitivities were triggers. He was spot on and my son had many medical issues going on that had previously be dismissed and is now a happy healthy 10 year old with a lot of friends and perfect score on the FSA test...thank you Jim and Jamie!!!!

Total Life Counseling is a wonderful organization throughout Central Florida. Jim West and his team of counselors are able to work with a variety of issues with children and families. They provide excellent support for children with ADHD, ASD, LD, as well as interventions for social skills. Sibling and family counseling services are a part of their program too. We frequently work together on cases when we do psychoeducational evaluations and I am confident when we refer clients that they will be well taken care of. I highly recommend the counseling and social skills services at TLC!

No sure how you are getting these 5 starts reviews but seems to me that is just a marketing strategy. I have been ignored no one time but two times from your staff. There did not return the call ever and what is even worse after talking to me through the Google messaging system your employee just disappeared leaving me just waiting for HOURS. If that is how you are training your personnel I cant imagine what will be next. Awful customer service.

Jim is an insightful counselor and coach. Hes helped me with relationship coaching and has really helped me put things into perspective at critical times.
