LONG REVIEW - This place is not good at keeping your information safe. If they can’t keep your personal information safe how can you trust that your sessions are safe. I am a traveling nurse and probably since the end of last year I’ve tried to get my sons records. Because of me traveling all the time I’ve come home I’ve attempted to get them 3 times. The last time I left on assignment I called and a young lady told me she would have to get back to me because the counselor no longer worked there and they needed to reach out to him. She called back and let me know all she could offer was a summary of appointments and I declined because I wanted the sessions to send to his new counselor due to a suicide attempt and some questionable behavior. Also I know that his previous doctors had sent over medical records. I wanted all the records that were given to Gilstrap and Associates.She stated she would talk to the owner and get back with me. So while waiting I called my sons old therapist and listen to this he told me they had a massive data breach 2 - 3 years ago and he thought clients were notified because that what he was told several times and I told him I’ve never moved, my phone number never changed. He said he reached out in the past for records for clients that followed with him and never received them. I was NEVER notified. So I know several families at my sons school that have gone to Gilstrap before and I asked ALL of them if they were ever notified and they said no! Also a couple of them dealt with the Cigna issue too. Just messy!!!!! I’ve reported Gilstrap, please know that if you went there in the past 2-3 years they may or may not have your records. The old therapist told me it wasn’t all records but he is unsure which records. The sad part of it is my family stuck around this establishment after another issue of them abruptly stopping taking my insurance which was Cigna - no real explanation just that in a month they would no longer except it. I was very happy when my sons previous therapist decided to leave this place and go to another therapy center. So I now know why I was given the run around about my sons records because they more than likely don’t have them. I know the owner is aware. Based on what my sons old therapist stated, he said this place is not great and told me stories of why he left too. I can tell you this place use to have 20+ therapist and now they have 5 based on their website. All I wanted was to help my son because he was in middle school then and high school now and it’s been rough for him, the information would have been very helpful but seems like they don’t care. Thankfully my ex husband found a wonderful therapist and our son has made tremendous progress and in just 3 months. So I’m done with Gilstrap thankfully. Again, I’ve talked to several families that I know we’re clients and I let them all know about my experience.

Im so glad I found Jessica with Gilstrap & Associates. You couldnt fins a friendlier or more compassionate person to talk to. Id been struggling with some things for a while and was not able to progress. Meeting with Jessica helped me to clarify some things and put action plans into place that have been working for me. I am in a much better place now then I was when I first started going. I cant recommend her enough!

I have 50/50 custody of my daughter. The counselors at this business (including the owner) made a recommendation that puts my ex husband in violation of a court order / parenting plan and custody agreement by suggesting that I only have contact with our daughter through letters sent to the counselor and read by the counselor to my daughter. ( who my ex has kept me from for 8 months) I would never opt to a letter verses seeing, speaking with or hugging my daughter. However it was presented to me as it was a letter or nothing. I feel this “family counseling” business is severely bias. I do not have any judgements, courts orders or issues with DCF preventing me from being in my daughters life. My ex is more financially well off than I am. This is how I feel they are picking sides. I do not recommend.

I can’t say enough amazing things about Jessica and all the staff at Gilstrap. If you are in need of therapy for yourself or your children this is the place you need to go to. They have helped me and my family in such a positive way. Thank you Jessica and staff for all you do.

I have always had a great experience working with a therapist here. Everyone is always friendly and prompt. They are also willing to work with your budget within reason. I highly recommend this for anyone seeking a new therapist.

I scheduled a new patient appointment for my wife and I, showed up ahead of time only to be told they no longer accept my insurance (Cigna) as of two days ago, however, they did not feel the need to call and inform any of their clients. Instead, they were “willing to let me talk to the the therapist for a few minutes about payment options or referrals”.*1 star because we can’t leave 0*
