One of my all time favorite PGA courses, it’s been retired as this is a fairly easy course to navigate in terms in skill set. Located in the suburban part of Orlando, tucked between a few neighborhoods and some great local parks and eateries.Convenient, beautiful weather, peaceful, enjoyable atmosphere. This really makes you feel like you’re somewhere else. This is next door to me, I can throw my drone up from my house and see the course.

I don’t understand all the wonderful reviews. It’s a nice course, but it is a shadow of its former PGA/LPGA self. Most cases you won’t know where the fairways end and the rough starts. The tee boxes were a bit beat up. And the greens were less than wonderful. They did roll true, but not fast. And they are spotted with disease (as pictured). And l personally did not find the staff super friendly. The cart jockey / starter was crusty. And there was not ranger. And l can’t make this up, we saw a seven-some on the course. It was three adults and four teens. And they did not even know how to play. We watched them in shock. The front moved along much better than the back. But the conditions in the back are much better than the front. All in all, I’d go back. But l wouldn’t pay more than $40.

I’ve played golf for 16 years and have been blessed to play at 100’s of courses over the years. This has to be the most consistently disappointing course I’ve ever been too. No, the course is great, but the staff and their service is the worst I’ve ever experienced. Website clearly advertises they’re open til 7:00pm, and with sunset not til 8:00+ regularly, you’d expect this. Unfortunately they decide to close early just about every single day. Today, even though the pro shop was clearly open, at 5:50pm I was told that not only were they closed but there is no way they could let me WALK 9 holes. With 2+ hours of daylight. No apology. Nothing. And I wouldn’t take the time to write this review, but this happens constantly and they clearly have zero regard for their guests. It sucks driving out of your way after work because of false advertising only to waste your time.

This course would have gotten 5 stars if they didn’t close at 7:30 PM in the summer. There was no signs or warnings that the course closed at 7:30. I was at the 16th hole and had to bring my cart in. I played on pace and my tee time was 4:36 PM with a 3 some. It was $40 each and I’m very disappointed that our time was cut short without notice. I would have gone somewhere else if I would have known.Besides that, the course was in excellent shape!

Home of the Florida Citrus Open 1966. Walking the fairways once walked by Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino and many more legends. Front 9 is flat, back 9 has all the character. Driving is a premium. Played here for the first time yesterday.Golf experience was just average for Orlando. Golf holes were very generic and at times boring. Narrow fairways with fast greens which were kept in decent shape but otherwise average, at best, for Orlando. Fairways have dirt lining the edges where there should be a rough. Apparently no one fixes divots on the greens, which was annoying at times. They are renovating their clubhouse so finding the make shift proshop was also annoying. No cart person on the course. No ice available in the makeshift proshop which they said was due to COVID? Pretty sure ice isn’t the reason we’re in a global pandemic.Having golfed pretty much everywhere in Orlando, I just have high expectations for a course and more importantly, the golf experience, and this place didn’t meet my expectations. Overall just an average golf experience. They have some work to do to compete with the other mid to higher tiered golf courses in the area.

Great course and exceptional layout. I believe in being able to play a course that once hosted some of the pass greats in a game I love. If you feel that way, or just want to play a course that has some fox squirrels who will steal your trail mix, this is that course. The course is tight, with quite a few trees lining every hole so spraying your ball is not an option. The greens are semi slow and in decent shape, same with the t boxes and fairways. Everyone is helpful and pleasant. I do fully endorse playing this course at least once.

You cannot cut down and/or trim trees and leave everything in piles on the ground for weeks. On one hole on the front 9, the same tree log has laid for over a month. Over half the holes are lined with tree piles down in the rough and your ball is inevitably going to get lost in it if you miss the fairway at all. Its currently an unplayable course until they figure out they have to remove the trimmed tree parts along with cutting them down. Save your money.

I really like the layout and history of this course. However, our twosome asked for two separate carts because of Covid and they said we would have to pay an extra $20 for the additional cart. I havent had to pay an additional cart fee at any other course in Orlando, especially while Covid has been at all time highs, so this caught me off guard. I also wasnt aware the greens had recently been aerated when I booked my tee time. And finally, we werent allowed to play the back nine, which wouldve been fine if we had been notified when we booked. Overall, I think the courses communication was extremely poor which lead to a mediocre experience once we arrived.

Let me start out by saying this review pertains only to the practice facility. I did not play the course. Also, I know times are tough in the golf industry and it’s hard to keep everything nice this time of year. That all being said, let’s begin with the driving range. The range balls looked like they’d been in circulation for about three years and hadn’t been washed in months. The grass on the range looked like it hadn’t been cut in about a month, so you couldn’t see the ball land. The grass actually on the tees was okay, but was mowed very tall. Then I moved on to the chipping green, half of which was entirely dead, the rest was clumps it goose grass and crabgrass. The putting green was actually fairly nice and somewhat fast which was a pleasant surprise and what saved this review from being a one star. What I could see course consisted of holes 1,9,10,18 and it looked to be better than the practice area. If the entire course is like that I’d say it would probably be a 3ish star course.

This is one of the most challenging courses that Ive had the pleasure to play. If you happened to leave your A game at home, you should know that you will definitely be struggling all round. So, even though its a tough course its one that I always enjoy playing.

A really nice gem in Orlando. The course plays like the old fashioned and classic courses of the past with the tree lined fairways it has. It’s a fair test of golf that will only punish you if you hit wayward tee shots. What I love about the course layout and design is that you don’t see many houses that line up the fairways or behind the greens that create an eyesore. The wonderful aesthetics of nature take over here as you see plenty of beautiful backdrops hitting into your fairways and greens. Some of the tee boxes need work, but overall the condition of the course is very good. The sand traps have very playable sand that is nice and fluffy. The greens roll firm and true, although a few of them are small. I grew up in Chicago and almost every course there, grows out the rough to 4 to 7 inches. Here, at this course, the rough is non-existant (thank goodness) and the grounds crew does a great job of making the fairways appear seamless with the absence of rough. This is a great course for the money and a treat to play. A pure and fun test of golf.

Just an honest review and experience on this Sunday. Take this review as you wish.I Play central Florida courses 2 times a week. First time at Rio Pinar.Called the club house in the morning and asked if any tee times were available. We were told I can get you guys on (3 of us) anytime before 130pm or so. We also asked what kind of shape the course was in (are greens being aired? overall conditions, ect ...) Was told the course was in great shape. Ok great on our way thx. 1224 arrival great timing. Didnt seem busy at all for a Sunday at noon. $45 a person Arrive at the first Tee and realize someone was not honest when asked about the conditions. Hole 1 Tee boxes rough shape, weeds, uneven and bare spots. Ok maybe Fairways and Greens are better. Nope! First 9 same thing hole after hole poor tee boxes, poor rolling greens with bare spots and weeds.Onto the back 9.Tee boxes in somewhat better shape not the best but better than the front 9, thats about it .We Finish hole 10 notice a single behind us . drive to the 11th tee We pull off the cart path to the side and let him play through. He says thanks drives to the tee.Ranger pulls up behind us. Ranger says keep your carts on the cart path. I say sorry we pulled off to allow the single to play through . So we proceed to pull the carts back onto the cart path and ranger says you didnt have to move it now for future knowledge as he drives off the cart path on the grass and around us. Someone just the did the (do as I say not as I do ).Back to golf...6 out of the the back 9 holes the greens had the sprinklers on. Ball wont roll 5ft on a smashed putt. 17th and 18th holes were not even playable with a good 1 inch of standing water on the greens not draining and sprinklers still running.Went into the club house and spoke to the guy in the clubhouse which was the same person who told us the course was in great shape and checked us in. I said next time someone calls and asks what kind of shape the course is in to please be honest. I explained that the tee boxes and greens on the front 9 were not even close to great shape and the back 9 had sprinklers running on 6 of he greens and that the greens were flooded and had 1 inch of standing water on them and werent draining. He looked directly out of the window at the 18th green at the standing water and sprinklers running looked back at me and said sorry you guys had a bad experience. Then he just gave me the look as to say, to bad we got your money .... Yes you did and at $45 a person I can tell you 3 people will not be returning. The course has history which is what attracts golfers there.Beyond that its definitely not worth the money for what you get. Way better courses for that money and even cheaper. Like I said from the start Just an honest review and our experience.

After having my wedding here a month ago- here is my honest opinion. We met with Maria and were originally quoted a certain amount an hour to rent the room. She went on vacation before we could sign the contract and I met up with her when she got back and could fit me in and it doubled in price.. she said she would ask the owner to bring it to the original price due to the circumstances.. it never happened. It gave us bad vibes but I convinced my fiancé to go through with it because I was tired of looking at venues. Maria also mentioned that there would be no golfers in the background during our ceremony. Yet we have numerous photos with a guy in the background pretty close to us practicing his short hand. And she casually mentioned in a joking way that awhile ago they had a bad storm and the power short circuited and the women’s locker room so they took over the men’s locker room. Well guess what happened on our wedding day? No ac in the women’s locker room. It was practically a sauna. They provided two stand fans which did nothing. My hair frizzed almost instantly. We took over the guys locker room but they only have mirrors above the sinks starts at about 5 feet 8 inches high. Every single one of my bridesmaids had to sit on the counter in the sink to do their hair and makeup. Our contract also said we had to pick up our decorations by the next day. They told us at the END of the night the centerpieces need to go now or they are throwing them out. Who wants to know at 1030 pm after their wedding they need to coordinate someone to pack them up NOW? I made them by hand and they took over an hour a piece. It was upsetting I couldn’t facilitate someone taking them home and having to toss them. We planned on picking them up the following morning. We put hours into those centerpieces. But at the end of the day, we got married. And the food was surprisingly delicious.I’m just upset about doubling the rental price and it sounded like she very well knew the women’s locker room wouldn’t have AC. We could have made accommodations if we knew before hand and not 4 hours before my wedding and scrambling for the bridesmaids and grooms men’s to get ready. If you’re having a wedding with only a few months to plan and can deal with a few headaches, get married here. But if you have sometime and don’t want to deal with the headache and last minute issues that clearly could have been addressed earlier if they were honest.. I would have your wedding elsewhere

Spent some time on their practice facility before my round, or what they call a practice facility. Practice green was basically dried dirt, to match their atrocious bunkers littered throughout the course. The actual course not much better. Fairways looked like an overly abused dog track, might as well of hit it in the rough all day because at least there was some consistent grass in the rough. Greens were spongy and you can’t hit one out without it bouncing 2-3 times. Overall, bad experience not at all worth the money and time wasted at this so called golf course. The tee boxes are looking bad, there’s not a lot of beautification of the course going on. The women’s bathroom had no hot water nor did they have any working faucets except the one in the handicap stall. It appears only mowing is happening as there are lots of areas in need of work on the course but the minimal amount is being done. They put so much money in this course a few years back and that’s whe 5e course looked it’s best. Not now though. The rates are the best thing it has going right now.
