Could not have been happier. Choosing carpet is a difficult task to begin with and then add a pandemic. Our salesman, Tom H, was extremely patient and never, ever rushed us. We went back and forth on our selection numerous times. The carpet we chose was not a traditional stock item, but the wait time was less than we expected. Once it arrived, Kelly, who does the scheduling, was WONDERFUL!!! Did I say wonderful! The install was scheduled a few weeks out and I asked her to notify me if something opened up sooner, perhaps someone had a cancellation. We have a wedding coming up and we were hoping to finish the project. She called me a few days later and asked if we would be available the next day. Holy cow. Thank you, again, Kelly. There were two installers. They arrived on time, told me how long it would be, they cleaned up, removed everything and it was perfect. Very professional. I would recommend Sherlock 100 times over.

Tom the salesman could not be more helpful. The deal was great. We got what was promised in a timely fashion. Installation was painless, and the carpet looks beautiful.

I did my upper level and stairs. Looked good was happy. A couple weeks later I decide to do our master bedroom to because I loved the way the carpet cameOut. I paid for them to move my furniture out of my room both times. Well this time the installers were pretty careless and banged up my walls Pretty good moving furniture. I left an email and photos of damage done with sales person. I haven’t heard anything and that was over a month ago. I’ve had to hire painters to fix damaged walls.

A big shout-out to Joe Sherlock for A+ customer service for delivering a carpet pad to me on his way home from work. I called the store at 3:30 and it was at my house at 5:15. It saved me a good 1.5 hours of time of not having to trek to their store on a cold winter day. It was something I really wanted and was tired of looking online for the last two weeks. Instead I picked up the phone, Joe gave me his expertise on what to buy, paid over the phone, and VOILA ... there it was at my door! A very professional young man Joe is. Love supporting family-owned businesses!

I wanted to give this place 4 stars because they have good pricing. Unfortunately, Don the salesman shouldn’t sell flooring because he doesn’t know anything about flooring. I needed a reducer to go from my hardwood floor to the vinyl plank (that I purchased from them). When I told him I had no idea what I needed he should have said “neither do I”. Instead he sold me the wrong thing and when my installer told me that I called back thinking he’d make everything right. Well needless to say he was just going to order the part and charge me without taking back the wrong item. His comment was “they’re not going to take it back”. Well that’s fine I’ll just buy what I need from some other flooring store. You’d think they would have made the mistake right. I drove all the way to Orland Park for the flooring but I’ll be darned if I’m driving that far for a molding that I have to pay for again!

We have had several great experiences with Sherlock’s through our builder and on our own. We have done everything from backsplash tile, flooring and carpet. Sherlock’s has always been very professional and willing to please. It has been a pleasure working with this company.

Couldnt have had a better experience here. The gentleman we worked with was had vast knowledge of not only their products, but design in general. Summary: Horrible customer service.The first time my mother and I visited Sherlocks Carpet and Tile was almost 2 months ago in hopes of finding tile for my home renovation project. We had an associate come measure our home for new flooring. After the measurements were taken, we never heard back from him with an estimate. Im assuming thats because the associate was bothered that while he was measuring our home, we had another company there providing us with an estimate for an unrelated service. Ill admit, it was a scheduling mishap on our part, but also very unprofessional for him not to provide us with an estimate after the fact.The second time we visited the establishment was last week in hopes of finding some carpet for my second home renovation project. The store was empty, so we received plenty of assistance.The third time we visited this establishment was today in hopes of setting up a measurement for carpet purchase. The store was busy and we received no assistance. The associate showed my mom some carpet and then went to go sit back down to get on his cell phone. Other customers in the store seemed to receive adequate service. We felt completely ignored, put off, and honestly a bit discriminated against.

We really dreaded replacing our carpeted bedroom floors with wood (how could we match the existing wood in the house, how could we move the furniture, how would we deal with the mess etc.). Because of my wifes allergies, though, we knew we had to do something. We talked with Don and he made the whole process simple and straight forward. He found us a very close match. Cesar and his crew were incredible and took great pride in their work. They were careful with our furniture and belongings, they were neat and cleaned up any mess. I recommend Sherlock and cant say enough about them.

We went to Sherlock to get new carpeting in our bedrooms. The whole process was great. We simply made the call, they measured, and set up installation. Our sales rep, Rob was knowledgeable about the different types we were interested and gave us great advice. It wasn’t a typical sales experience where they push you to buy the most expensive type. He showed us all different types and went off what we wanted. When our carpet was installed it looked great and they were so fast! We will definitely be going back when we redo our basement. Five days ago we had wood laminate flooring installed on top of 35-year-old ceramic tile (powder bathroom & foyer) and linoleum (kitchen, dinette, laundry room ). The installation crew (first two men & an additional two men later on in the day) was amazing. They were knowledgeable, effecient, and accommodating. We needed the washer/dryer and refrigerator moved during the installation. The above and beyond part of the installation was the additional quarter round in areas under cabinets where we never had any. It gives the flooring such a finshed & polished look. The hard-working crew was immaculate with the final clean up. Our flooring is absolutely beautiful and has transformed & updated our home. Thank you to Joe and Tom during our several store visits with answering all our questions. We brought several floor samples home to see what would look good. The best suggestion we had was to look at the samples at different times of the day with the sunlight and lighting in different areas. We have absolutely NO regrets on choosing Sherlocks to intall our new flooring. I highly recommend this company. The people are very helpful and explain all the various products available to make your home beautiful.

Don (our sales person) was wonderful with information about the CoreTec floor we were buying as well as the specifics of the transitions from vinyl plank floor to carpet. The installation manager was extremely helpful and kind as we were scheduled to have our floor installed in the first week of the COVID shutdowns in March. They were flexible with our concerns about installation during the beginning of COVID. The installation crew was very professional and did an outstanding job! We are very happy with our new floor and carpet.

We used Sherlock to replace the flooring and trim on our entire first floor and upstairs hallway. They removed the existing mix of carpet, ceramic tile, and vinyl flooring and replaced it with a Shaw vinyl plank floor. The install crew was very detail oriented and took great care to keep the home clean. The final results are amazing and we couldnt be happier that we choose Sherlocks Carpet & Tile.

After having to walk out of another flooring showroom cause they wouldnt help us we went to Sherlock. Gentleman greeted us when we walked in. We told him what we were looking for and even showed him a picture of the style and color we wanted. He pointed to a back room and said the tiles back there. After a few minutes of my wife and I flipping through we walked out with little to no assistance. If they cant help us when we show them exactly what we are looking for how are they going to act if we bought from them. Pass this showroom up.

We have purchased from Sherlock a couple of times. They did a very good job and their prices were very reasonable. My only complaint was the last time they installed carpet they were going to install it with a very cheap pad. I was disappointed the salesman did not discuss this with us before we set up the install. The situation was resolved that very day as they sent someone out with the better pad.

We needed to get a specific flooring quickly to continue a job, and they had a great price (they were almost $1 less a square foot than another place I called), and were so great to work with, going above and beyond, taking time to find out answers to my questions and quotes for different things and calling me back to work stuff out.They also were able to get the flooring in quicker than any of the other stores I called (its one that isnt kept in stock anywhere, apparently). Tom was extremely helpful when we finally picked out our carpet. He answered all our questions honestly. No salesmen tactics, pressure, etc. We were leery about the quality of padding and the actual install. Tom assured us they have the best installers around and showed us the padding that they would be using. Installers were on time, padding was as promised, and install went perfect! Absolutely nothing to complain about from start to finish. Thank you!

Sherlock’s is the best. I had 1,700 square feet of hard wood installed by them. I got the run-around from one of the big box stores and was fortunate to find Sherlock’s. Not only were they competitive in price, but more importantly they were responsive to my time line, the quality of their product was much better (American made) and they have their own professional installers that do an outstanding job. Small things like undercutting the bricks on the hearth so the hard wood slides under making a clean edge and sinking all the heating grates so they are even with the floor and virtually invisible, are just two examples of their superior craftsmanship. I also had hem install a quartz counter top, island and a glass and stone backsplash. Again, the skill of the installer and attention to detail was spot on. For flooring, counters and other similar needs, I would highly recommend Sherlock’s.

I recently remodeled my home and was referred to Sherlocks by my parents who have had wonderful experiences with them in the past. I had carpet put in my living room and hardwood installed in two of the bedrooms. Both turned out better than I could have expected! The process was very easy and simple from start to finish. I originally went to Sherlock looking for living room carpet and hardwood for my kitchen, dining room, foyer and powder room...all extremely high traffic areas. I met with Don and he explained the pros/cons of the various types of flooring. I ended up getting Coretec LVP instead of wood and I couldnt be happier! The vinyl planking looks just like wood (even the texturing) but its completely waterproof, comfortable to walk on and the cork backing makes it quiet. I chose Sherlock primarily because they dont subcontract the work out. They have their own installation team that is AMAZING! They were prompt, efficient, courteous, they moved furniture, lifted the bathroom fixtures, cleaned up the debris, vacuumed and even laid an area rug and pad for me. Not to mention that their work was impeccable! I am so happy with my entire Sherlock experience that I have already recommended them to family and friends and I will definitely be calling them in the future.

I ordered tile for a bathroom remodel. The boxes were loaded into my car. My husband brought them into the house as they were very heavy. I did see the name of the tile on the box and manufacturer which was correct. When my contractor had installed the tile the first day I saw that it was the wrong color. At this point being on a tight schedule for this project I couldn’t have it removed and reorder the correct color so I kept it and had to choose new grout color. When I called Sherlock’s to tell them what happened I got a “ sorry, don’t know what happened. We can’t do anything for you but I’ll talk to my manager and call you back.” Of course no one has called back. Nobody wants to ‘fess up to their mistake. Poor customer service.

We had an opportunity to replace some carpet last week. The team of four installers who came out were not only on time, however they were neatly dressed, polite, professional and managed to keep the install to a day. Communication throughout the day was also handled well. The clean up was amazing too as everything was back where it was originally placed and not a sign of rubbish was left behind.Its not often you get the professionalism along with the up beat attitude and appearance that leaves you feeling confident as I did with this crew.Great job guys! There was absolutely no pressure, and we were able to take samples home right away to see what would look best. We were able to schedule a measurement that was convenient for us, and when it came time to booking the installation, Don worked around our crazy schedule. The installers were beyond professional - very efficient and detailed in their work, and cleaned-up after themselves. The difference in our home is incredible - our floors have never felt/looked better. Also, I have never received so many compliments about any other upgrade to our home, than our new carpet. This was the second time we used Sherlock for our carpeting. The first installation was great so we tried them again.They are not pushy when it came to selecting the carpet and they were great when it came to scheduling the installation. My fiancé and I recently purchased a home in Orland Park and were in need of some new flooring. Rather than replacing the wood floors that were a tad scraped up Sherlock’s recommended just having them refinished. It made a world of a difference! They look like brand new floors. We also had some carpet replaced in the spare bedrooms and the work was equally as impressive. It’s always a tough task to find a company you can trust that is going to give you quality work for a fair price, but I highly recommend Sherlock’s and will continue to use them in the future!

We came to Sherlock as it was time to replace the carpeting that we had purchased from them some thirteen years ago. Don was very helpful ~ I brought samples home to see how they would go with my furniture, etc. and was able to keep them for several days. The measurements were very accurate and the installers very efficient (and tidy!) All in all it was a good experience, and we will be return customers when the time come to replace the other rooms.

We have bought carpet from here for 3 bedrooms, hallway and stairs in the past. Went in tonight to look for a custom rug for our home. There were 2 people working and each had a customer. One of them acknowledged us and said it would be a few minutes and we said fine. 30 minutes later the customers had left and neither of the sales people asked what they could help us with. One of them chose to put carpet samples away rather than help us. The other didnt want to be bothered. We looked at them and said it is obvious you arent interested in helping us so we will go elsewhere and walked out the door. We wont go back.

We checked out some other stores for carpeting and ended up going to Sherlock in Orland Park. We were helped by Don. He was very nice, answered all our questions and was not at all pushy. We picked out carpet and he was out the next day to measure. As we were still undecided on carpet he said no problem take your time. We went back next day and picked a different color. Carpet was delivered a few days later. Installers were on time and were done in no time. Carpet looks awesome. Carpet is beautiful and I would recommend Sherlock Carpet and Tile.

We have been customers of Sherlock’s Carpet & Tile for the past 15 years carpeting the entire house with the exception of one room used for a sewing room beginning in 2003 and the most recent project in February 2018. We have always worked with Tom on all of our projects. He has taken time to listen to our ideas and has provided us with a number of options. His accurancy measuring for the job and determining cost has been exceptional. Initially we replaced the carpet in our family room and steps going down to the basement. We followed up with the same carpet in our dining room, living room, steps going upstairs to the second floor and the second floor hallway. That project followed with carpeting for our three season sunroom. The master bedroom and two guest rooms were carpeted with the same carpeting used in the second floor hallway. In December 2016 we changed color schemes and replaced the carpeting in our family room and dining room. In February 2018 we replaced the carpeting in our game room (formerly living room) and extended it up the staircase to the second floor with the same carpeting used in the family room. We highly recommend Sherlock’s Carpet & Tile.

Ive waited about a year to see how well the tile and workmanship held up in the vestibule and am very pleased to say that I am thoroughly happy with it. I had LVP installed in my basement and carpet installed on the stairs. While the LVP in the basement looks nice, I would not use Sherlocks Carpet and Tile again. I should have heeded the signs after the salesman rescheduled our consultation twice. When he contacted me the following week to lock in a date for my installation, I paid a deposit and received a receipt that showed only the amount paid and the amount due and no confirmation of the installation date that I had booked.I called a day before the scheduled installation to find out what time to expect the installers, and the salesman told me that my installation date was for the following week. I asked for a refund if Sherlock was unable to install the LVP on the Saturday I had requested, as I had guests coming in on Wednesday and I would be unavailable for several upcoming weekends. The salesman offered a small discount for me to take Tuesday off work to have the installation done.The installers were quite professional and informative, but the final product was not quite what I expected. It feels thin and highlights the unevenness of the basement floor. The information provided by the installers differed from what the salesman told me. After paying my bill in full, I finally received the rug created from the carpet installed on the stairs three business days after it was supposed to arrive. I am not thrilled about the service I received from Sherlocks Carpet and Tile.7/19/2019This is in response to the owner’s reply. You offered to install carpet, which was what I intended to get away from. I needed the flooring installed by a certain date, which was expressed when I made the installation appointment weeks earlier.

I recently purchased carpet from Sherlock Carpet in Tinley for both of my boys rooms. Joan was my sales person and she was efficient, professional, informative and very personable which was a huge plus for me given that I had a previous bad experience with a dealer in New Lenox. She tolerated my questions and demands and earned my trust. I went into their store on Monday and had carpet installed by the end of the week. The quality of both the carpet and padding are outstanding. The installers were on time and did quality work. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND their store without question!
