Have not had a great experience with my Milgard Single Hung Vertical Slider windows. All 5 of them have failed in my house. The window balance spring has failed on all of them at least twice over a 10 year period. I would not recommend window that relies on a balance spring as they appears to be prone to failure over time. I would expect the windows to last much longer than these have. The windows are now out of warranty and continue to have problems, much to my dissatisfaction.
