This gym is amazing. Between The staff being very friendly, there machines, and the dumbbells going up 2.5s lbs. I give them 10 Stars. :D

Chris and Spencer(managers) are the best. Ive learned so much in such a short amount of time. This is one if not the cleanest gym in Jacksonville. Esporta is still apart of the LA Fitness brand. They still have all the amenities.
My mom and I always love the people of esporta! Especially Antonio (whos our personal trainer), but every person that works there makes going to the gym into a pleasant experience.

First off: Staff isn’t as professional or polite as they once were, especially at night...which leads me to my next complaint; if the employees weren’t on their phones all the time or flirting with each other, the shower area and bathrooms would be cleaner. This typically is a problem with the younger female employees. Thirdly; what’s the deal with homeless men using the shower/ facilities here without ever working out? Also, something needs to be done about patrons having music on Bluetooth speakers BLARING Loud in the pool area/ locker rooms. No one wants to hear that.Other than the above complaints, this is still one of the cleanest gyms around, and not too crowded even during peak hours.

I physically could not believe my eyes when I walked into this place.The place was absolutely pristine. The place was also massive as in I have literally never seen a place as big as this except for grocery stores. They have so many fitness machines in the building it was absurd.Their weight area is the entire size of the entirety of Planet Fitness alone.They have a full size Olympic pool in a full size basketball court. Both of which are fully temperature controlled due to the fact theyre in the building.I cannot state how pleasant that is and how much of a godsend that is in Florida where temperatures regularly reach 100 plus degrees and leave you feeling disgusting afterwards.They have a spa and sauna which although it was closed when I examined the building is still an extremely nice feature and I hope to see it back open soon.They have separate men and womens bathrooms as expected and a unisex bathroom. The locker room for both massive and pristine. The locker himself have a nice wood finish that compliments the room.The locker room themselves connects to the bathroom and the main area so you can easily change without having to walk in your bathing suit back to the locker room.They have a machine for every single part of your body. They have a massive Zumba room and a spin room.They have personal trainers and fitness classes you can sign up for which is always a plus for people that want to have help sticking to a fitness routine.The staff were extraordinarily friendly and that helped me through the entire registration process in a matter of minutes. Within 5 minutes of walking through the door I was able to access any of the amenities on the floor.$10 a month and a $100 initiation for the basic membership. $20 a month and a $50 initiation for the Plus membership. And $25 a month and $0 initiation fee for the ultimate membership as of June 2021.Basic membership gets you strength and cardio equipment which if you just want a place to work out then this is great because they have a wide selection of equipment and you dont have to worry about it all being taken even in peak hours, which I have experienced the other gyms.The Plus membership gets you group exercise classes access to the pool, sauna, and spa. You also get one personal training session and one group training session.The ultimate membership - the 25 dollar membership - gets you access to the basketball court, a racquetball course which I had not seen during my walk through, unlimited use of the studio cycling and unlimited guest privileges.Edit: theyve just added a brand new fitness training area. Pros: Nice GymCons: I and others have brought up the fact that AT&T customers can’t receive a steady signal in their gym. You would think they would bring out an AT&T rep to add signal boosters, repeaters or whatever is required. They have not. In addition to that problem they can’t seem to keep their Wi-FI up and running. It’s been out for days. Clients are typically in the gym from 1-2 hours. We need access to our phones to receive calls and listen to music while working out. If we can’t receive a signal in their building neither can happen. Hopefully the owner reads this message. Until this changes I will not be referring anymore people to this location or returning.
This gym is ALWAYS clean but they have taken it to a new level. The Vice President and the General Manager were both out wiping and sanitizing everything we touch. As soon as you leave a piece of equipment its wiped down. When the management and staff go to this level to ensure our safety it makes you really appreciate the quality facility we have here.

The gym, bathroom, pool is clean. They make sure to keep everything clean for the members. Theres plenty of workout equipments for members to use. I also enjoy the sauna. The Zumba class with Tonya is great. She makes it fun but definitely a workout. George, an employee, is very sweet, caring and helpful to members needs and as well to new members.
Even though covid hit the us hard this people was still charging us for our membership. When we asked them about it they said if you pay an additional $65 we can cancel your membership.People we are in a pandemic for Gods sake. Never again, I will wait to Bailey’s come this summer!

I visit this gym whenever I come home for the holidays. The free 5 day pass is perfect for a holiday visit. Very spacious and has all of the equipment you would expect in a globo gym. The hot tub and pool are nice bonuses that you wouldnt expect.
The jacuzzi is not working at this time. But, everything else is high 5. :)
Facility is spacious and clean. Great atmosphere for a workout. Plenty of equipment, lockers, showers, a pool, sauna, and jacuzzi. Price cant be beat for these amenities. Nice staff too!

The fact that I need to speak with an operations manager M-F from 9-5 in order to cancel my membership is asinine. When I signed up, they made it seem clear that I could either cancel or pause whenever needed.This is a poor retention method. I suggest LA fitness empowers their customer service to better meet their customers desires by allowing them to cancel accounts when requested, etc.

Ive been going here for years, this is one of the best gyms around. It is a premium gym so if youre looking for the best deal, steer away. The environment, cleanliness and the staff at this location are top notch.
Clean and nice
Used to workout here and Loved the gym itself and all the classes and features! However as a mother to a little newly walking toddler I found the daycare less than acceptable. For the most part all the ladies who worked the daycare were great with the children minus one who was just neglectful and lacking Motherly skills. The problems with the daycare are this:-Understaffed for amount of children-Newborns left swinging while staff has computer deadlines to meet, and children left on floor of various ages unattended.-unattended children climbing a slide who may not be skilled enough to do so.- no toys to stimulate their minds, only a few rubber toys to climb on which have been picked apart by bored little fingers exposing styrofoam for a great choke hazard.-older children allowed in the baby gated area and sometimes the door remains open for them to come in and linger as the staff works on the computer.-because of the various age differences and lack of guidance my child (12 mos) picked up by her neck by a 4 year old as he played superhero’s . Luckily I was standing there and stopped the event but the staff did not seem concerned and so I told the Mother who became enraged and accused me of racism . From that day forward that mom mean mugged me and would pull her son from daycare if she saw me and my daughter coming. It was strange and the staff acted like it was my place to handle it.Needless to say I switched to baileys on 103rd. They have a great daycare with toys and enough staff . No issues since.
Great gym, no contract able to freeze accounts for any unexpected life situations I pay 60 for me and my wife and Im able to go to any gym in florida and have access to the pool, hot tub, sauna and classes, daycare, there is so much equipment to use and always up to date and a friendly and fit atmosphere to top it all off
Very poor customer service. You was unable to cancel my family membership by phone or on-line. Policy is only the general manager can cancel any membership and that person only works from 9:00 to 5:00 Monday thru Friday, No Saturday. Isnt that the same hours that most of us customers are on our own jobs. Their policy is you need to take off from your job in order not to inconvenience their employees. In addition, this prevents you from stop their automated payment policy.

This place was great was .But heres the problem with dont care fitness theyll set you up with a program to pay then tell you you arnt in the family program even though you paid for it.Then when you cancel your membership. they will conveniently forget you did continue to charge your account and when you call them on it theyll say well the thing is you can only cancel monday through friday from 9-5 .so I guess you have to take a day off wiek to cancel.
Love this place! They are the only gym around with a sauna (which is a big deal) and a pool, and still well priced!

Lousy management! Because we are under a global pandemic due to covid 19, I chose to cancel my membership. A few weeks later, when they decided to begin opening businesses, I decided continue my membership and the manager told me I would have to pay the first month and last month ALL OVER AGAIN!!!! I WILL NEVER RETURN HERE!!!!!

Good gym, clean with nice equipment. But, there is no wifi. It was explained to me that the builder neglected to install it. But why has that still not been corrected? The other clubs in the area have wifi and it has become something that is almost expected to be available.
I cancelled my membership in November and they never stopped billing me. Thiefs.

I went to check out this location that is very close to my house. When I entered the desk attendant was on the phone but after the phone call he was very pleasant and polite. When I was directed to the manager it was a total opposite energy or lack of. He greeted me with no conviction and just stayed sitting slumped in the chair and with no enthusiasm asked me how he could assist me. I had to really take charge of the conversation asking questions, with a very low energy, he told me about some the things his location has, leaving out the indoor basketball court twice, prompting me to ask about it. It being one of the main reasons I was considering a membership. An awkward silence and then I had to ask to be showed around particularly the basketball courts. I felt like I was being bothersome and wasnt wanted at this particular gym because with an unapologetic extremely low energy I was walked over towards the indoor basketball courts literally in silence until I once again had to engage with the Manager to get any type of communicative stimulation. This time inquiring about him actually being a manager, to my disbelief, he was indeed the manager and had been at this location for a year I asked if he liked it there, because his attitude reflected the latter. His response was subpar. Well after a very unimpressive, awkward, low energy almost silent and uninspiring tour. I wasnt told about any offers or packages, prices, training groups, or anything I didnt ask about. I am very disappointed! I will be visiting another location to see if it is a company standard or maybe I can get another employee to get me excited about getting a membership with LA Fitness.

Be aware that when canceling your membership, youll need to document EVERYTHING. Who you spoke with, dates, times you mailed items off, etc. This company seems to bank on the fact that most people wont do that, and profits off it.

Had a new credit card coming in and was told I couldn’t come in after being told the day before that I could come in. They said as long as I keep them updated with the card, I could be free to lift. Funny part about it was the manager had to tell one of the other employees to tell me that I could not workout that day and just walked away. What a sissy

Since the reopening with Covid I haven’t seen any cleaning implemented, social distancing or employees wearing masks. New hours make everyone cram themselves with no restriction on capacity seems like. Time to move on.

I really enjoy what this gym has to offer. The staff is friendly & helpful. I have been disappointed lately in their ability to acquire & keep their Tuesday night 7pm body pump instructor. Michelle was awesome & even though all who took her class told manager George we loved her, she never returned. Apparently they would not pay her price. Really??? All the money they make & they cant come up with an extra $10???? Instead, they added another zumba class. (They have enough Zumba classes already!) everyone walked out of the class when they found out it was changed to zumba.so, they paid an instructor to do nothing &annoyed a class full of members. Anyway, the room where they hold classes has no sanitizer, no paper towels & no trash pail. When I asked them to provide these items I was told they only have these items in high traffic areas. It seems as though the class room never gets swept. There is a ladies room bathroom door lock that had been broken for months. The wifi has been down several times. Nice facility, however not reaching its fullest potential.

The cleanliness is questionable at best. They have one employee who actually cleans. The majority of members lack the basic etiquette to wipe down equipment after use. The real issue is the staff refuses to approach members who are being rude/ disgusting. Multiple members refuse to use earbuds, instead they use Bluetooth speakers that can be heard above my earbuds. The amount of profanity used in the lifting and training areas is despicable. People clearly do not know how to act around other decent people. I have cancelled my membership as well as that of my family members. Both LA Fitness facilities on Blanding are an embarrassment to the franchise. Problems such as these are few and far between at the other franchise locations I have used in Florida.

Their aggressive billing practices are insane. Was a member for 4 years and after my card was canceled because of skimmers on a pump at a gas station (fraud) they called me three to four times a day between 7am and 8pm. This was only one day after my bill was due, and before even being late.With my card being canceled only three days prior to my bill being due, I would have had to deal with it for a week before my card arrived in the mail. I canceled my membership after about 16 calls (4 days after payment became due).I get the feeling they are not doing well financially Id they are so agressive. Typically a bill is late 10 to 15 days after due, and calls dont start until at least being past due.They are money hungry, and for the first year its all rose colored glasses, but look under the covers and its garbage.

Nice facility with a lot of equipment, but the kid center is so unorganized. I went there this morning and 15 mins into my workout they came and got me and told me my 7 month old son was being really fussy. I immediately go check on him and hes STILL in his carseat. Most kids dont like just sitting in a carseat. I asked if they had taken him out to play with him and they said there were too many kids to get him out to play. My son was crying and so relieved to see me I felt awful. Im paying money for this?? Anyways, I wont be trusting them with my son anytime soon. Im sure theyd be fine with older kids, but they definitely need more help in there. They also wont give me a full refund, so beware if you have babies!

Extremely disappointed. They could not honor the fulfillment of discussed amenities upon signing the intial agreement. Lack of interest and basic respect shown when discussing this with sales management, James Little. I honestly didnt know thats all he was in charge of, hes not in charge of the gym, just sales. Showed no interest in finding a resolution, no interest in customer service or retention. Even the dialogue was that of challenge, like I was talking to an argumentative teenager. He eventually told me I was stupid BUT its ok, because most people are. Huge lack of consideration shown by SOME trainers while clients are involved. They will take over areas/machines without consideration to your workout. Move your feet, lose your seat high school behavior. If you dont buy into both the membership and a trainer program, sold only in six and twelve month increments, youre not going to enjoy the same basic access to the facility as projected upon point of sale. People use phones in the locker rooms and it goes unconfronted by staff. Ive found needles in the lockers and there is way too much bro-mance, touching and so on. Its only about money, ONLY money. Its not about the positive fitness community BS they pitch you upfront. I never even met the operations manager, never even heard her name until I contacted corporate, and they had some regional director contact me. This company does not care about the customers goals or experience theyll try to sell. Its not about having unlimited access to all the amenities, some of which are missing or damaged. They want your money, otherwise expect disrespect. They will explain how you, the consumer misunderstood something they never told you in the first place. Seriously look for something better before even considering this. There are smaller businesses that value there customers and respect their guests. This company is so corporate they can think they can do whatever they want and answer to no one.
