Excellent experience! I wanted a very calm and happy first experience with my daughter for her introduction to horse riding, and this place fully exceeded my expectations. The instructor was nice, and very informative, and my girl left with so much more knowledge than I expected- In just half an hour, my 4 year old learned how to turn the horse, weave through cones, turn the horse in a circle, stop, and back up. Clean stalls, and you can tell the horses are very well cared for and loved.

My daughter and niece absolutely love this place. We have worked with Caroline and Bella for riding lessons and they are both wonderful, as well as any other staff we have came into contact with. We highly recommend this place to everyone we talk too!

Went here for a b-day party & the kids just loved it! Not too expensive, the kids got to ride the horses around the inside barn & played a few games. Great family business and they treated everyone very professionally & made us feel very comfortable.

We had a blast. Great atmosphere. I love how the staff explains the safety rules at a level that my 5 year old could understand. At first he refused to ride or touch any of the horses. After the tour of the stables and the caring the staff gave him, he had the courage to ride. All three of my boys had a great time learning about and riding the horses. Great job

I am a boarder and volunteer for ALC. The animals are very well taken care of. The owner as well as the staff are knowledgeable and truly care for the animals. I’m at the complex a minimum of 5 days a week including the evenings. The barn is always clean and animals are happy and content. I normally don’t respond to another negative review but I truly believe that the negative review below was written by a former employee who was dismissed for not following the directions of the owner and more importantly the directions given for horse care by veterinarians for our boarders. Yes, there are two sides of the story but as a boarder who sees what’s going on, there is no hoarding and the care is extraordinary. I’m very active in animal rescue and if there was any abuse or neglect, my horse would not be there.

All of the stalls are disgusting!! Pee atleast a good 3 inches deep in the stalls and hardly any shavings, the place smells horrible! The horses are so skinny it makes me sick! I tried to talk to a few of the staff member about why they are so skinny but they avoid the question. They don’t care for the horses properly and it seems like none of the staff knows how to handle the horses. Don’t go here unless you want to keep your horse in an unsafe, unsanitary, uncontrolled environment!!Highly recommend going somewhere else!

Update: 8/11 I called the number provided and it went straight to voicemail and then again it appears I’m blocked or getting ignored?? I will send an email but what will this do to fix your issues??Update: I have contacted the facility and have not received responseI visited this place to see if it was the right place for my kid to take lessons at and omg I cannot believe how disappointed I am. The animals are underfed and poorly taken care of! They rarely go outside and the lesson provider I spoke with was so rude to me every time I had a question she would roll her eyes. I don’t recommend boarding here or taking your kids here, half the staff knows nothing about horses. Not to mention the fact she over breeds her animals and hoards them away in small stalls all day every day no sunlight and fresh grass!

Animal hoarder. Doesnt feed proper amounts to the animals. One animal gets basically nothing where another one gets over feed. She just keeps breeding her small live stock animals with no regards to them having to be in stalls by themselves. Only lets the horses out for 2 hours max a day. I would not board here. There are plenty of other boardering barns that are better. Her main lesson giver smokes in the barn with no regards to anybody else.

We took our 10 year old daughter there with her Girl Scout troop. All of the girls had a great time. The instructors were knowledgeable and friendly and were really good with the girls who were nervous about riding a horse for the first time. Im deducting a star due to a couple of upkeep issues. The riding area was horribly dusty. They really needed to wet down the dirt a bit to keep the dust down. The viewing room needed some work as well. Several ceiling tiles are stained and falling in. The viewing room also seems to serve as the staff break room because food was left out on the counter.

Abby is a great trainer. but Dorthy (the owner) is kinda scary. They have really nice horses and have Great teens help tack up and put away your horse every Saturday and it takes around 5-10 minuets to tack up so if you show up 15-20 minuets early you will have a hour lesson. there are no 45 minute lessons.

This was a nice place for Girl Scouts to earn their horse badges. They learned about the horses themselves, how to care for them, and how to behave around them. Then they actually got to ride one which was the highlight of their day. There are other animals milling around the property as well. Both of the Girl Scout troops I attended with had a great time.

I have been a customer of AmericanLegacy Complex for 18 years. Our daughter began riding lessons at age 9 yrs, has participated in their sponsored 4-H, given lessons, cleaned stalls and worked Girl Scout events, horse camps and birthday parties. She has used the stable horses and boarded her own horses at this facility. I feel I can give a more honest review than those folks with short term relationships. I speak to parents concerns first. Foremost, safety is #1 at this stable. Had it not been so we would not have remained clients. In the horse world accidents can happen but can be avoided by the child following directions from qualified instructors, which have been available to us at this stable. As a person who pays each month for the care of a horse, we have always been extremely satisfied with the care provided and condition of the facility. Again, we would not have stayed at this stable if it were otherwise. Many of the boarders are long term and I am offended by such reviews that have been posted as retaliation by spiteful individuals. We long term customers have good judgement and experience with horses so I can confidently share that I highly recommend American Legacy Complex for parents, boarders, Girl Scouts and birthday parties. You will be pleased and the kids will have a great time!

I was the riding instructor until I decided to QUIT. I loved teaching the kids, but the atmosphere wasnt worth staying. After I left, the owner called my boss and slandered me. After she acted like we left on good terms.

Ive worked at American Legacy for over 2 years now. Its a family friendly facility that puts the horses first. Ive owned and delt with horses the majority of my life so can say first hand that the barn help is not abusive or neglectful.

I was not happy with this place at all. Chickens are running around and allowed to have eggs in the horses grain feeders and the eggs are not always picked up. If a chicken is in the grain feeders at feed time they do not move the chicken, they pour the grain on the chicken and think the horse will eat it. The stalls are not taken care of with broken boards and huge holes in them where the horses have peed and no dirt has been put in over time. The stall cleaners do not know how to handle horses that need gentle touches or are young horses that will misbehave and instead of disciplining in a calm manor it seems like horses may be beat. The trainers/lesson givers do not seem to know what they are doing and if you dont do things your way they are the wrong way. The lesson horses are lame and broken down. And the worst part is, when horses are injured, they dont notice and dont call the owners.

Ive been at American Legacy for a couple years now and some of what people say on the reviews are true. its a great place if you want to host a birthday party or girl scout event. lessons are good but i wish it was more riding then talking; thats the only thing that needs improving. yes Ive had kids come up to me saying they were scared or Dorothy but that hasnt happened in a couple months. i dont know much about boarding so i cant really talk about that. but i go there every Saturday and unless i beat the stable hands there they are already working on feeding and cleaning stalls. they know how to handle the horses and i havent seen anyone hit a horse while getting it out to clean a stall. the old trainer Abby did leave because of complications with Dorothy but she is a great trainer and i still respect her.
