I found Ken’s repair when I had to quickly get a new computer for work and I lacked the time to build one myself.I bought one from Best Buy and issues arose. Ultimately Best Buy refused to fix it and I lacked the needed time to troubleshoot and figure out the issue myself. That’s where Ken’s repair comes in.They immediately took it, diagnosed it, refuted the stated reason why Best Buy customer care refused to service it, and they sat down with me and looked at parts that could be replaced to make the PC perform better. within a few days(I remember it being relatively quick) they received the parts and began to build and stress test it before giving it back to me.The cable management, which tends to be overlooked was pretty well done as well. All for a price that was not unreasonable. That has lasted me for about two years without much issues.Recently my CPU cooler stopped working and figured it had to be the loop that was malfunctioning(it was a water cooler). I brought it back into Ken’s and they diagnosed it and unfortunately the cooler was unable to be fixed.This time around I settled with a Noctua cooling system since I had good experiences with them before. They found the one best suited for my case, ordered it, and within a few days(3-4) it came in and they installed and stress tested it again.Unfortunately my GPU began acting up almost immediately. I thought it would either be a power or GPU issue, and after trying different methods to solve the issue myself I brought it in again.Thankfully it wasn’t a bad GPU card or a power issue. With a simple fix he gave it back to me with no charge.Overall I personally had an absolute good time dealing with these guys. They proven to know what they’re doing, they don’t nickel and dime you for simple fixes, and they are willing to take the extra time to work with you to figure out what parts would be best used for your own computers.

I had tried the Geek Squad earlier just because I had heard of them. I spent 40 minutes in a chat session only for them to tell me I had to go online and schedule a time to bring it in. I decided to see if there was a local independent and found Kens via a google search. I dropped off my PC at Kens an hour later and within 30 minutes I had a text that it was ready! And the price was better than expected. The whole experience was professional and friendly. I rarely have my expectations met, Kens exceeded mine and has earned a loyal customer.

Ken is a total rockstar - at the beginning of the pandemic, the bottom row of my keyboard went out - u-fortu-ately those keys are ki-da i-porta-t! Ken was able to get a new keyboard installed and worked with my insurance to provide a letter for my claim.Then, just recently, my boyfriend dropped his laptop in the sink and was terrified that he lost all of his masters degree work (weve since learned the beauty of keeping things in the cloud). Our laptop was acting really weird. We put in a call to Kens PC Repair and described the issue. Ken thought it was possibly the charger (something we hadnt even considered). I approached Kens with my Mac hard drive issue. I was so happy that they did the replacement with double the size of existing hard drive for 60% lesser price compared to apple and given it back to me by next day morning. I came in with an issue of my laptop not wanting to charge anymore, I had never been to a pc shop before since I always just fixed everything myself Ive built my own pc and have always been the troubleshooter with this, most of my friends and family come to me when they have problems with their computers.The thing is I never had much experience with laptops, at least the hardware side of it. My laptop battery had died before I could figure out why it wouldnt charge and was left with no ideas on what to do next other then buying a new battery or charger and not knowing if that would fix it.I left it their for a day and was called the next day telling me that the charger port on the laptop was bad and needed to get replaced and would cost about 130 something. I decided to pick it up instead since I felt that wasnt the problem, I had thought the laptop would have some battery life in it since I was told they were able to charge it up to 40% using a different charger and Id be able to turn it on and troubleshoot some more but it wasnt.I called and they offered to charge it overnight for me and when I arrived I ended up talking to Ken, the actual owner of the store and I wanted him to show me how he was getting it to charge since he had mentioned the cord had to be tilted a bit in the port for it to make contact and charge.The cord he used ended up working no problem as soon as he plugged it in but my charger wouldnt, (not even on some laptops he had around), so we both agreed that maybe it was my charger that was bad and not the port and he let me have the one that worked for free.THAT is what made me really appreciate him and the customer service he was offering, he even apologized for missing the real issue. Had a wrong stripped screw in the mobo standoff and it didnt even take 10 minutes to get the thing out so I highly recommend this place for weird problems like that.

OK...so I was in Omaha for less than a week when the screen on my Surface Pro 4 bulged open in one corner from a bad battery. I ordered and had overnight-ed a battery replacement, took the screen off and started to dismantle to remove the old battery but quickly decided this job was too complex for me. Called Ken and he said, bring it on over. Ken installed the battery and fixed my Surface Pro. What great and honest service I received and I would not hesitate to send anyone to Ken....yes Woohoo! I took it in to get looked at and Ken called me back the next day. Even though my computer was too much to fix, I decided to go with a refurbished one instead. Ken pulled all of my info off my old computer and put it on my new desktop. I wasnt sure what I wanted, but I told Ken what I was looking to get out of my computer and he built me one. I chose Kens to fix my laptop based on the positive reviews and after my experience Iknow now why all of the reviews are great. He is a great guy, always available, was working on a research project and he managed to get me all the data I needed from my laptop and gave me a laptop loaner until mine was fixed. No offense, hopefully will never need to go there again but if needed thats the place to go!

Update: After having dealt with Ken many times I can now see more clearly that he is not the most personable guy. He is not the best at calling with updates; I often had to do all the calling. I, like many others, am anxious to get my computer back and updates would be helpful and appreciated. Also, his knowledge is mainly focused on basic computer systems and not much on gamer knowledge. If those things are important to you, which they are to me, then you might want to look at other options. I will probably look elsewhere from now on.I upgraded my desktop last week and Ken did an amazing job. He and his wife are very nice and the service was blazing fast. Ken was obviously very knowledgeable and has a true interest in his trade and in taking care of the customer. When I got my computer home it fired right up and he even helped me on the phone afterwards because I needed a couple of pointers on installing Windows 10. I recommend doing business with Ken, and I will be doing so from now on. It is ultra rare that I give out a 5 star review so that should tell you something.

I came to Kens because I saw they had a very specific and cutting edge hard drive recovery tool that I had stumbled upon online. My girlfriend had just had her hard drive fail that had many valuable vacation photos and documents, and I knew that trying to fix it myself without this tool would be unwise/impossible. Ken was EXTREMELY nice and was very clear about how much it would cost, and understood that it was not an easy decision to make financially for everyone. He looked at the hard drive to see if anything was recoverable, and then gave me the exact amount it would cost to proceed with the recovery. It took me a couple months to gather the money for it, and thankfully he was more than patient. He went ahead with the recovery and from what he told me, and having shifted through everything myself, so far Ive gotten everything back! It was a very good first hard drive recovery experience, to say the least! Every recovery is different though, so take my review with a grain of salt and perhaps go in with low expectations. I know I certainly didnt expect to get everything back, but thankfully luck and Ken were on my side with the best tools and skill set in town to perform the best recovery possible 😊

Absolutely great experience with Kens PC Repair. Ken was able to recover all the data from my laptops crashed hard drive. I took his advice and had him replace it with a solid state hard drive. He reloaded all my data on the new drive, as well as my operating system and key applications. My laptop runs better and faster than it did when new. en did all this in about 3 days! My computer lagged and completely shut down on a saturday afternoon. At around 2:30 before closing time, I took it to Kens repair shop where he was able to take it in and run a diagnostic on the following Monday morning. It was ready to go by Tuesday. I picked it up on Wednesday, and all the information and data was still there. It performs a little bit better than it has been in the past months. I am very grateful to Ken and I would recommend his assistance to anyone who desperately needs their computer to be looked at.

Great place to get your computers worked on. We had a few computers that we wanted to donate to goodwill, but first had to have the hard drives swiped clean. Ken has got to be the most knowledgeable computer person I know. From virus protection, to hardware and software suggestions, to safe downloadable programs to purchasing a refurbished laptop from him, and fixing the screen I broke, he has had the best information, suggestions and recommendations for a not so computer literate person. Unfortunately it wasnt good news BUT he explained all of my options and gave me time to think about it. I appreciate the transparency that Ken provided and his prices are much more competitive than other places. I would recommend his shop to anyone with any and all computer questions or concerns.
