Attended luncheon with the Telecom Pioneers. Excellent plated meals with wonderful service. We were provided the ability to reach 100 attendees while making presentations. I loved the food and the service.
I have enjoyed this event for 2 decades!!! Great security for satety, good parking,& the most scrumdillyumptious food ever!!! If ya missed it!? Sept 18 530-10pm.
I wish they had more of these fun festivals. It is such a good time when they have events - good music and good foot (tge bratwurst and soft pretzels were delicious). Fun for all ages.
Great beerfest. Great staff. Great weather.
We love cultural events such as this. Takes a lot of volunteers to put this together. A great event, kudos German American Society of Omaha Nebraska!
First time...the food was delicious! Very friendly people...not overly crowded...very pleasant experience
Perfect venue for a wedding! The food was awesome. Great service from the staff. Thank you!❤️
Fantastic! A lot of fun and very welcoming!
Visited for a wedding during COVID and everything was wonderful! Staff was courteous and helpful, food was abundant and good quality. Atmosphere was delightful and cozy!
Always great food at a great price
Love the food and beer, great place to eat and enjoy the people.
We were disappointed that after over an hour in the car line we got there only to be told they were out of everything but brats. I can totally understand that they couldnt predict how the drive thru would work, but it would have been nice to have someone let us know they were out of everything at a point that we could have opted out.
My first visit here was to attend a birthday party. I was very impressed with the facilities. Drank great German beer and bought a beer Stein.
This is a great and unique place to become a member or attend one of their public events. With a membership you can be involved in one of the many clubs that range from beer brewing to dancing to cooking to German language classes. The Friday night Keller nights, which are open to the public, are a great alternative to fish fries in the spring but are always a good time for the whole family. The public events like Oktoberfest are a lot of fun with great food great beer and great entertainment. I highly recommend checking out the German American Society at least once and consider becoming a member.
German festival was awesome!
If you havent attended a festival here, put it on your bucket list. They have figured out how to appropriately handle hundreds of people effectively. So much fun and you can try new things, meet new people. Just generally have fun.
Dropped off granddaughter for drivers ed. Did not go in.
Baers meeting was good as always.
The portions were small food was cold the schenzel was dry and tough
Great place. An efficient layout, good parking and unique decor. It has a central location making it a great place to hold a get together/banquet. Ive never arraigned an event here so I dont know its price structure.
Was here for Oktoberfest this past weekend and this has been the first year I have been able to fully experience this amazing tradition. The place was packed, the music was bumping and people were dancing along with their Steins full to the brim and simply having an amazing time. I had the Radler grapefruit beer and it was fantastic, I would definitely recommend it to the beer drinker who does not like a full-bodied, heavier beer. Overall I had an experience of a lifetime and ran into many people I knew while making some new friends along the way. The only thing I would recommend is to get cash beforehand as I had to pay an ATM fee of $5.50 which seems outrageous to me personally.
Ive been here for multiple events but I would definitely like to boast about the amazing time we had there for their annual Oktoberfest. Fantastic selection of beers as well as food and a bunch of vendors that show up to peddle wares. A really great time.
Oktoberfest and Christmas in Germany two awesome events. Look at joining GAS for more fun and activities.
Very nice environment my chiropractor Applewood Chiropractic is there if you ever need a good chiropractor go there Ive used in 4 years
I was here for the Christmas celebration. The food and the beer were excellent. It can be packed though, so be prepared.
Every 2nd Tuesday of the month . Omaha Quilters Guild holdes event there. It could be a gethering of quilters for meeting or sew for charity . In December it is a big event to raise money to help children have a nice Christmas
I went here for Octoberfest. Lots of people. Lots of beer. Lots of fun.
We have been members for some.time, great familynfocused festivals and experience!
Beautiful interior. Went for Christmas event, and it was very crowded. They were definitely cooking for quantity, but we were surprised to hear their sausage was made in house. They also give cooking lessons for traditional German meals. I would like to try the food again during a regular day and judge based on that. They did also have gluhwein, which is very hard to find in Omaha!
Love going to Oktoberfest. The food is fabulous and the music is even better!!
We had the German American Society cater our twins high school graduation party and they were hands down the easiest to work with and the food was tasty also. They fixed huge 6 foot sub sandwiches, macaroni salad and 4 different kinds of cookies. Plenty of food with what I made. Chelle & Tate, thanks so much for making the process so smooth!
Octoberfest at this place was great. Excellent choice of German beer and the polka was nice.
Finding lots of wedding receptions there thats the place drinking dancing drinking dance and drink and drink and drinking
They have multiple beer and wine options and their food is delicious. During their festivals, they have live bands, which adds to the atmosphere. During Oktoberfest, they have tents set up outside, but it is cash only.
Went down to Oktoberfest. Lots of drinks, food and music. Only complaint was the lack of water. Went to 4 areas and finally an employee said to follow him and he grabbed a bottle from the employee area. He said there had been complains all day about lack of water. Good event, but when its hot, water is definitely needed to offset the beer
Good German food and beer.
We were here on a Friday night for their food specials. Food was great and the servers were very accommodating to our young kids. Very family friendly and easy.
Beautiful place with kind staff and good food.
Cheap prices. Love the vets. Definitely an older crowd
I love the people and the atmosphere: there is always something interesting going on. The Octoberfest is one of the many reoccurring events there.
My employer holds large group meetings here and have always been happy with the space. The staff is always on top of the event making sure everything goes smoothly.
It was a very great experience and the people from other countries and citys were very nice and I am so grateful to the lindsborg folk dancers for letting me join them and I am especially grateful to my dance partner Julie for teaching me.
Discovered this to be a beautiful venue for a wedding reception! Only strange thing was their Call whiskey was Bartons Scotch.
Allways somthing new going on here. Great place to be
First time I was there was for Oktoberfest and it was a blast! The venue is awesome! Will return soon!
Good food, good music, great beer, and good times. Gemütlichkeit!
Just a nice place 😁
The best beer. Oktoberfest was great. Hopefully next year something can be done about the beer and food line. The waits were horrible.
What a fun place to go with friends. The members are eager to make sure guest are well taken care of
It is a great place to go to with a group so if you are a Swedish folk dancer and you are with a group then you need to go to it .
The Oktoberfest is a blast, their ratskeller is a comfy place to have a drink and there always seems to be something interesting going on there.
We went for the Octoberfest and we have been here for a wedding. It is a great place to visit and check out! Octoberfest was a blast! Great food, great german beer, and great music!!!
Good place for events. Christmas in Germany was good food beer and company.
Great venue. The club has a long history in Omaha. The German celebrations are always fun.
If youve only experienced the German-American Society at Oktoberfest, youre really missing out! The clubs public events include Maifest, Bockfest, Christmas in Germany, and many more! There is also Keller Night, hosted every Friday evening in the downstairs bar (Ratzkeller), where awesome food and cold beer is served from 5:00pm-9:00pm and is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! I loved coming to this place so much, I became a member.
They have many events and one can rent out the hall for themselves.
This place really is great. I attended a wedding here and it was set up nicely. The old German trinkets are cool as well as the murals. I do think they should have more German beers though! Alcoholic Becks, Weirsteiner Pilsner, Bitberger, just to name a few! They only had 2, Weirsteiner dunkel and their Oktoberfest. Over all, a good experience!
Makes me feel at home
Had a fantastic time at Oktoberfest! Reminder of our time spent in Germany.
Octoberfest! Love going there to celebrate.
We went to their Oktoberfest. So much fun.
Always a great time. Watch for their Oktoberfest and other celebrations
Fabulous venue and an all around great place for a wedding reception.
We had a delicious time!
Was here for an event, had fun. Sauerkraut smells bad. I think thats kinda its deal tho :p
Great event, slightly understaffed, but fun
There are so many sub-organizations that theres something here to do for everyone of all ages! The food is always amazing and the staff is incredible.
Great place to have a smaller event. Staff was great.
Just married this past weekend. Never been behind the scenes of a wedding before so I didnt know what to expect. I always hear of glitches and things not being perfect. I thought Id be prepared. I was working with Chelle and at first she seemed great until it got closer to the wedding. She started forgetting things, important things like we decided to go with plated instead of buffet and we constantly kept having to remind her that it was a plated dinner.. if I would have saw those red flags! We had the ceremony on the patio. Once we were ready to go in for the reception is when things go horribly wrong. When we had our tasting we had planned our meal and had a kiddo plate and planned what we were going to have for the kids. They were totally forgotten! 30 kids with no food. I also have family with gluten allergy and had requested an alternate for them, they were made but never given out. They made same meals for adults and kids. The waitresses then went to every table and asked do you think your kid will eat this? And if the parent said no the waitress response was good cause we dont have enough food! This was just 1 problem with wait staff. They also started taking food off the tables in record time.. my bridesmaid had gotten her food and went to the bathroom to wash her hands, she got back and there was no food. As people were eating and they were picking up full plates including mine. We ate at 730, so next was dancing. We cut the cake at around 8, then announced for our first dance. As we were dancing they started cutting the cakes and having them come through the dance floor while we were out there. By 9, the security guard took it upon himself to predict fights and regulate how people were dancing. My friend who was also our officiate was kicked out for lude dancing along with our other friend. Once they were causing a scene in the parking lot, thats when my husband and I found out and we went outside. Manager or staff did not notify us of any of the actions of the hot headed security guard decided to find out what was going on. As we were outside, at 930 the dj came out to ask why the lights had been turned on. We had the hall until 12. I asked my bridesmaid to go have them turn them back off. Staff started picking up my centerpieces while people were sitting at the tables. With the lights on and staff picking up tables, my guests thought it was over. I walked back in at 945 and my whole side of family was gone. My reception was ruined. We hung around until about 1130 and tried to round up as many people to meet at a bar. Chelle or staff never came to me throughout the whole night. No call the next day. My mom and husbands mom on Monday came to pick up our decorations and conveniently Chelle was absent. The assistant Amy was there. They expressed all of the problems that went on during the reception.. she had an excuse for every issue and said it was our faults on every problem. We decided to call Chelle Tuesday. She had no response for us. I cant get my time back from my reception! They are not willing to compensate us for all the trouble we had. I know this is a long review but there was a LOT that went on and no resolution, no apologies, nothing! Least I can do is warn everyone and express my sadness of how this all went down.
The best place to go for maifest and Oktoberfest. Hands down.
Meal was very good, entertainment also
No place better in Omaha to celebrate Christmas.
Fun stuff to do. Great Friday Keller.
You can buy better beer and sausage at most store. Big waste of time.
Went to the craft fair a good variety of things
A lot of fun events!!Fun and friendly atmosphere!
As you see i only colored in one star, we hated it. Our experience was horrible, the food wasnt perpared all the way through, the service was horrible we could never find the bartenter and the asst. manager was never around. the sound system was no good. you couldnt hear the words the people were saying. if you are having a party find some place else to go. This place is not worth the money. it was $2,000 waste of money.
Great October fest here. Plenty of beer
Dont just go for Oktoberfest! Theres Bockfest in March and Maifest in the spring!
They put on a great Easter egg hunt.
Great atmosphere, great people! Both cultural and and as a venue!
