We have been working with Hometown Property Management for several years now, they have looked out for our home while we have lived in another state due to work. The company has always been very communicative with us and let us know what the tenants needs or concerns have been. Jordan Nitz has always been professional and gracious with us when discussing property management or issues to attend with the home. HPM does a GREAT job at knowing what may be an issue in the future and giving us advice and work estimates on how to move forward. Originally we were tenants thru HPM and I knew they would make a great partner when we bought and they have done FABULOUSLY with our home and supporting the needs of those within the home. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK!!!! STAY ENCOURAGED AND STAY SAFE, YOU ARE ALL MUCH APPRECIATED!!!
So far they’ve been very helpful and easy to work with as a tenant.
I appreciate them, Id love to rent from an individual but this company is better than windermere in so many ways, and definitely better than apartment managment.
We had a wonderful experience with Hometown. Before we had them rent our home for us, we were renters under them for two years. When we found out we were under orders, only a year and a half after owning our own home, we were so nervous with what we would do with our home. I called and spoke with our previous manager at hometown about the process, and Sue and Donna had taken such great care of us from the Olympia office, that I knew I could trust them with this. We had them manage our property for three years. We left our home in a hurry to get on the road to our next duty station and fell behind in our schedule to make sure the house was completely cleaned and ready to go, but our property manager said just get n the road and they would take care of it, and they did! They were able to get in there and clean it up within a few days to get it on the market. They worked really hard to get our home rented. Hometown handled everything and made sure they were always in contact with us about everything. It made moving away so much easier and we are so grateful that they took such good care of us. I highly recommend working with them.
Weve been living at a house managed by Hometown for a year now. They have been excellent in communication and timeliness. We know that any concerns we have will be addressed quickly and correctly. In fact, we like them so much that we have signed up for another year!
Everyone there, especially Jordan, is very helpful, professional, and friendly.
Very nice rental house. Didnt plan on leaving but bought a house. Once or twice needed repair or help and the response was almost immediate. Thumbs up for Hometown.
We have only positive things to report about our relationship with Hometown Property. Even before we moved in to the rental property the members of the Hometown team were most helpful, knowable, and honest. Each year as we have had occasion to interact with Hometown the Hometown staff have been prompt, professional, and always helpful.Over the years we have experienced a few different property management outfits .We have never had a property management company that seems to be both the management of the property for the owner, but also goes to great lengths to advocate for the property and the renters.I have already recommended Hometown Property to my friends and family who have expressed an interest in moving to this area. You folks are doing a fine job.Thank you for your interest in our opinions.
Do not rent with them!! Slow to get things done and when you move out they will charge you $75 if you forget to get every last crumb from the oven! Way to take advantage to a military family who has to travel across country during Covid! The guy (Paul Taylor)who called and said it looked like we had a professional cleaner was condescending and tried to make me feel like he did me a favor instead of being courteous. When asked about the price he said he “assumed it was a minimum charge of an hour”. We went above and beyond to make the place look better than it had when we started renting and then they charged us!
Donna is an awesome lady!! She gets things done, and done as fast as possible. Love that girl!! She works harder than anyone else!!
While I understand hometown is simply a management group and they don’t have the final say on repairs or condition of a home, you’d expect them to at least have some sort of criteria for who they do business with and not manage property’s for slumlords who refuse to do repairs on a home and rent a home that is barely considered habitable. That was mine and my wife’s experience with hometown, we rented a home and within a week or two we noticed the ceiling was dripping water around the fireplace. Not only that but there were numerous other things wrong with the home as well (major ant issue, leaking pipes, bad water heater, inoperable baseboard heaters etc...) we put in maintenance requests for all these issues and most of them didn’t even get fixed, including the leaking roof. We broke the lease early and after four months of us living there they didn’t even bother fixing the roof, and they are now renting the home again, as it’s currently for rent on there site and I doubt any of the repairs that were needed were done. We had some contractors who came in and looked at it and were awestruck they rented the home to us in that condition, saying it looks like that the water leak has been going on for years and essentially that whole area had to be gutted. Not only that but after a month there was black mold growing all over the place in random spots on the house. They cleaned up well and made the home look presentable but in reality the place was not okay. There was also a major ant infestation even though it wasn’t even spring yet, the ants were literally all over the house.I’m fairly disappointed in hometown that they would continue to do business with a landlord that thinks that kind of stuff is okay. Not only that but the maintenance coordinator Renee who is the primary person you will deal with is very rude and passive aggressive. Not an enjoyable person to deal with as your house is literally falling apart and she clearly does not care whatsoever. Hometowns reputation speaks for itself, I’ve talked with both investors and renters that would never consider doing business with them because of there reputation. I’ve also heard from multiple contractors that they’ve really gone downhill over the past couple of years and there are a lot of stories about them not caring about the condition of the home they are managing. There front desk staff is fairly nice though and pleasant to deal with, and there property inspection specialist Matt was professional enough to deal with. That’s about all the positive things that can be said for them.
Great place to rent from. They helped us find a house that was in our price range and in a good location. They have a local office and a safe box for after hours rent drop off which I really enjoy. Maintenance issues get addressed in a timely manner.Friendly and helpful staff members. If you are looking to rent I would give Hometown a call and find out if they have a home that’s right for you too. Thanks Hometown!!Eric in Lacey
Ive been living in a Hometown property for about 6 months. Ive had a couple of maintenance issues that were responded to and dealt with quickly. Both employees I spoke with were kind and accommodating.
Great company to deal with. Hometown has made renting with them a breeze. If we have any issues they get on it immediately and its taken care of asap. Very dependable and reasonable
For a property owner, they make it simple and easy. Fees are reasonable and straightforward, and they handle any issues that arise promptly. Communication is excellent - I have not had to wait until he next day to hear back, it’s always been same-day. Every member of the staff I’ve dealt with from sales and compliance to maintenance have been very professional. They seem to take great care of the tenants and respond to their concerns or needs very quickly as well. Highly recommend.
Do not rent from these thieves. They take exorbitant amounts of money from the security deposit for preexisting maintenance and cleanliness issues in the rental property. Despite making the property better than the way we found it we did not see our deposit back. Save heartache and frustration and take your hard earned money elsewhere.
Ive had an overall positive experience with Hometown Property Management, although we have had very little interaction since we moved into our rental three years ago (which I think is a positive). The only negative I can think of is that their office is clearly a smoking indoors building. Would recommend.
I have managed my property myself for several years. With tenant turnover, I selected Hometown to find me a new renter and take over the property management. I am very happy I did!! Hometown has been flexible and patient with me as we begin the long-term relationship.
We have used Hometown Property Management for decades and have been very pleased with their competence and professionalism. Highly recommend.
First rate property manager. I have properties in three different states, and HPM is the best experience Ive had with a property manager.
We had to move across country and Hometown Property Management has down a wonderful job managing our property in our absence!!! They have given us peace of mind!!!!
It was a pleasant transition into the Tacoma area with Hometown Property, until moving out. We gave a double deposit to move from out of state. The maintenance requests were unanswered or done months later. And now they choose to keep most of our double deposit to update items we suggested in the maintenance requests, like for mold cleaning.Do NOT rent from them, you will never see your money again. Even after three years of monthly on-time payments!
Used to manage my Olympia property on my own; however, no longer had the time. Contracted with HPM which has been a great decision freeing up vaulable time for me personally AND providing an even better tenant experience. Wondering why I waiting so long....great job HPM!
They have been great, we have not had any issues with them at all.
Our first experience as landlords has truly been headache free thanks to Hometown Property Management. They take care of every issue quickly and seamlessly. We are so grateful for their excellent service.
This group is a front for slum lords. They have tons of properties that are in dilapidated (broken appliances, leaky homes, etc) conditions that they are renting to people. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. THIS IS A SCAM BUSINESS.
Great experience with Hometown Property Management. Communication is great. Any maintenance issues have been resolved very quickly. Definitely would recommend.
Poorly managed with maintenance issues. Had a dishwasher go out in May and they still havent come to replace it. Placed multiple work orders with them but either get deleted or marked as complete without the issue actually being solved.
The team at Hometown Property have been great. I have been using them to manage my rental for the past 3 years and I appreciate their timely communication and bias for action. I believe the tenant experience has also been very good.
Hometown Property was so easy to work with from start to finish.I did not have a lot of time to find a place to live in Olympia. It seemed that every time a property was listed, people already had credit pending.I walked into to Hometown in tears, they showed me a house that they were going to list. I jumped online and scheduled my appointment and rented my house.Everything is so streamlined- they auto pulled my rent, maintenance issues were entered in the portal and I received a prompt response back.Received all of my damage deposit back- if I ever have to rent again.Hometown Property will be my first stop!
Awesome property management team that was always there for the tenets.
I highly recommend Hometown Proprty Management. I’ve been with them over 10 years. That’s says it all. I live out of state I never have to worry about my Propety. Thank you HTPM for taking great care of my Propety over the years. 👍Valerie Arnold Mapua
Hometown property has helping me to manage one property in Lacey since 2012, more than 7 years. BTW, I choose the 10% option, which makes HPM to manage everything for me. In these years, there were no major issues, and the HPM clerks has always guided or helped me to solve all the issues. I receive monthly statements on time always. Besides, the statement is easy and clear to read as well.So far so good.
Fantastic property managers. They are prompt with their service and keep my property rented and taken care of.
Our overall renting experience with hometown was pretty standard. We had a few maintenance issues in the year we lived in one of their rentals. The issues were taken care of in a timely manner. When we moved out, there was a discrepancy with the security deposit. My husband contacted hometown and spoke with John. Within 24 hours, John was able to resolve the issues we had. He was very understanding of our concerns and was able to address everything promptly. Hometown is a decent management company, but John is a fantastic employee. They are lucky to have a brand ambassador that is so committed to customer service.
I expect more from a business owned by a State Representative. But they are unable to provide basic-level care and attention to their clients. Front desk staff is friendly, but managers and leasing agents are simply unqualified and unresponsive, which has impacted the whole business. Ill be looking for a new property management company to work with. And Rep. Andrew Barkis obviously needs to work on improving his small-business skills or hire better people to run this place.UPDATE: Hometown is still unable to follow simple requests. Im honestly astounded and disappointed. I regret working with this company more and more as time goes by.Removing a star for their inability to improve and lack of attention to detail. I cannot recommend enough NOT using this company.
No issues they can’t handle and very good at placing quality tenants rapidly.
If I could give a no star I would. My family has lived in one of the homes they manage for years and they consistently ignore maintenance requests then when we finally complained they advised we had 45 days to move as they have choosen to not renew our lease. This as I am sure anyone can imagine would be a hardship. Oh but not the best part, then we get a card with a Starbucks gift card stating.... Thank you for being our tenant at Hometown. We appreciate you taking such great care of this home! .... well you are not welcome. You are not welcome for any of the repairs we have had to do ourselves as you refuse or ignore requests. And you are not welcome anything. Also you can keep your gift card, not being required to pay the last month in full and not being prorated for early move out would have been better served. May Karma forever shine on you as you have on others.
Great experience renting from Hometown! From the beginning everyone has been easy to get a hold of and quick to answer questions. We needed to get into a place QUICKLY and they made it happen. We were moving from out of state and were a little hesitant renting a place sight unseen, but Debbie was very helpful with this. She sent us videos of different properties so we could really get a feel for them. She was amazing! The house was incredibly clean and ready for us on move-in day. They made the transition super easy by providing us with easy to understand forms with all of the information for local utilities, etc. On move-in day we were greeted with this awesome first day emergency kit...what a thoughtful and impressive thing to do for clients! Love this company.
Great folks always take care of tenants needs and keep our place tip top. Been I great experience working with them at Hometown property management..Thanks guys
Lori, at Hometown Property Management was very helpful during a recent long-term repair that was required for our property. She looked out for our interests with the insurance company, and facilitated proper preparations for rerenting. After repairs, the house was rerented expeditiously at a great rental rate.Highly recommended!
Hometown has managed my Olympia home for over two years, and their professionalism and responsiveness has been great. Highly recommend.
My fiance and I had 4 days to find a home in Olympia. We tried so many different agencies, and hometown was the right choice. We walked in their office and they immediately showed us our options, we went out to look at a house that day! It was the right fit, we loved it right away! We signed a lease and were all set in the short time we had to find a home. We love our house, we love how easy it is to communicate. They always reply to our questions big or small in a timely manner. Never have we had any problems in renting with them. I highly recommend them if you want to find a home. 100% satisfaction.
Ive spent a year and a half with this company and enjoyed a wonderful rental experience. I have since moved on to purchase my own home but it would not have been possible without the help of HPM to establish myself in the community.Thank You,DKH
Very good and honest property management company in the Olympia area. Professional employees and competent management!. Cam H
Debbie gave us amazing customer service! When we didnt get to rent the house we first applied for, she made sure she understood what we were looking for, then let us know when new properties were available that matched our needs. Very friendly, very flexible, and just all around excellent!
Lived in one of HPM homes as a tenant for a year. In that year we had multiple things go wrong. Each time we contacted hometown it took multiple days to hear back from someone. Our chiminey in our stove was coming apart at the roof. We had a roof leak. Had to contact someone 2 times before they came to just look at it. Didn’t fix it. Ended up getting another maintain with request for someone to come fix it, never showed up. We ended up leaving the house and the chimney still was never fixed. This was an issue from the day we moved in. Now that we moved out they want to charge us for things that were already that way before we moved in. Terrible terrible company.
Amazing people. Worked with my husband and I about a house. Always keep you updated on anything.
Hometown Property Management has managed my rental home in Olympia for several years. Their annual maintenance inspections have kept the condition of my property in great condition. They have also kept great, dependable renters in the home. Their paperwork for my taxes are the best and easiest to read and understand out of the three different rental managers, for my three rental properties, in three different states. I wish all my properties were in Olympia so that Hometown could manage them all. I am very pleased to do business with the Hometown Property Management team. Thanks, Hometown!Patricia SchmidtRental Property Owner
I was stationed at Fort Lewis, and I was upside down on my house, so I couldnt sell when it was time to move. Hometown has managed my house as a rental for over 10 years now. I couldnt have done it without them. They have always made sure weve had good renters. Our rent has never been late in the 10 years. They aggressively find renters so my house doesnt ever stay vacant long.
These people have a hard job but someone has to do it. They really are great people with a thankless job. If you rent from them please let them know you appreciate them. Gratefulness goes a long ways.
I have to say after reading some of these reviews, I was very nervous about how my experience would be. However, I am happy to say that HPM worked with me to resolve all of my concerns immediately. When we moved in over the weekend, we discovered that the former tenant left us a gift - FLEAS. And I am talking about a full-blown infestation. Not only that, but the carpet in the entryway reeked of cat piss.Needless to say, I was very upset.I made calls and sent emails, and first thing Monday morning I was contacted by their maintenance department, who sent a pest control guy out and got rid of the fleas. By Thursday they had a carpet guy here to get rid of the smell. They also waived the prorated rent for the last week of the month, when we moved in.They were very apologetic about the condition of the place, and theyve billed the former tenants for the work needed.Donna, Julie, Ashley, and Jenny were all very helpful in resolving my concerns, and now the apartment is clean, comfortable, and peaceful.I am very happy with how this all unfolded.Great job all around.
Due to the fact that we live very far from our rented house we always seek to establish the high level of trust with the Hometown Property team. We think that we have been able to achieve it so we believe that Hometown acts in our best interests. There are always issues that have to be discussed and resolved and they have been to our mutual benefit. Thank you!!!
Great people! They really worked with us :)
I’ve been renting with Hometown property management for the last 7 months and it has been an enjoyable experience!
I rented from Hometown for nine years straight in the same house. I had a pleasant experience. When I had an issue it was always resolved quickly. The staff and rental managers were always nice to me. When I resigned the rental agreement each year my rent increases were minimal, and some years my rent didnt go up at all. I would rent from them again without question. When I moved out I expected my deposit to be gone, but I got a lot more back than I had expected. Hometown property management treated me well and made me feel welcome.
We have rented a home now for 1 1/2 years. Its an older home, so it has had a few issues that could not have been prevented. Each time we contact the maintenance team or our manager, the issue is addressed immediately and we have been very pleased with the work, attention and follow up. Everyone weve spoken with on the team is friendly and helpful. We look forward to staying here as long as we need to and feel good about getting looked after.
Lived in one of their rentals for almost four years, and I have no complaints whatsoever. In four years I only had to request one work order for the master toilet, and it was taken care of quickly and without any issues. A big shout-out to Lori, my proper manager.. moving out was a big blur and happened very quickly, but Lori was accommodating and flexible with my busy schedule and we wrapped up even faster than I moved in. I would recommend this property management to anyone looking for a home in the Lacey/Olympia area, and if I ever get stationed back there, I will look them up first! Thanks for a great four years!
They have managed my property for the past seven years. I am more than pleased with their work!
They do an amazing job. Im in Minnesota and I have no worries about my house in Washington
Some communication at the start of my lease was confusing, but the landlord helped straighten it out and everything else went well.
Ive been using Hometown Property Management for years. They have great communication (especially with the new customer portal that makes communication and finding documents a breeze). Although I no longer live in my house I still look at it as my home and they seem to have that same outlook on it and I appreciate that. Their customer service is top notch and I always have great conversations with my assigned property manager. When a home maintenance issue comes up it is handled on a very personal one on one basis where they hear my every concern and help me find the best solution that fits my needs. This is extremely important since Im on the east coast. Im sure Ill be using them for many years to come.
Kim Cervantes has been my manager. She has gone out of her way to minimize some repair expenses on my home. I really feel like my house is being watched over by someone who really cares. I would recommend Hometown PM to anyone looking for a quality management company.
I’ve been renting from Hometown Property Management for 8 years now and have had no major issues or concerns besides minor things such as not being satisfied with the front desk receptionist. She was very rude to me. She hung up on me twice, on purpose! Also, our property Manager Lori is hard to get a hold of ever since she moved to the office in Yelm. The house we live in has needs attention. The gutters are always dirty and full from debris but nobody came out to clean it. Our fireplace blows cold air in from outside which is very bad for our electricity bill but I’m afraid to complain because the last time I submitted a maintenance request for something, HPM charged us for it even though it should have been on them!!!! I’m not satisfied with this management or leasing office.
I have been with Hometown Property since 2008 and the relationship with my property manager Lori. She has been great. She looks out for her clients and never gives bad advice. Love Love Love her!!!
Hometown was good to us. There were some speed bumps, which were few and far between, but it was always resolved. I suppose there are many cases and it can be hard to keep up. Lori, who dealt with our case, was always professional and took care of things in a timely manner. I am sure property management can be difficult do deal with at times. I would recommend them!
One of the best property management in the area!
From the perspective of a renter:Hometown PM was helpful with finding a place for me to rent. One of there staff worked with me over the phone to narrow down a few places which met my needs, and took the time to show each of them to me over the course of an evening. Luckily I found a rental that I liked on the first outing and was able to submit the paperwork the next day. The approval process took a couple days. When I went to sign the lease, they were helpful in explaining the details of the lease and interpreting the homeowners expectations of the rental agreement. They also sent me away with a housewarming gift comprised of useful items during the moving process. It was very nice and I found it useful. They have a convenient online payment and work order system. There is a fee involved with paying online. There is also a 24 hour emergency hotline, which I have used and received service to a septic issue within 2 hours.I have not yet moved out of a house that they manage, so I cannot comment on that aspect of their business, but expect that it will be pleasant.
Finding a place was the easiest part with them, everything after that was very shady. I called time and time again to get things fixed and they either never returned the call or had someone come look at it, promising to come fix it within the week and never show. Needless to say it took a while to get anything fixed. The ceiling fan in the master bed room was broken until about a month before we moved out. I called about it when we first moved in 2 1/2 years prior to them replacing it. Just in time for a new tenant I suppose. The contract doesnt matter to them because in the contract it states that they may not raise your rent for not only the first year but the remainder of leases after that re-newed. They raised our rent and after speaking to them about it the manager was very rude and threaten to have us kicked out. It also took us about a month and a half to get our deposit back after moving out and calling over and over again to find out where it was.Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere. The lady we worked with there was very rude. It was like the sweet mother in law who turns into a crazy person the second you say yes.
I rented with them for a year, I read many reviews and thought that they couldnt be that bad. They were. When I did my move walk through with Lori, I pointed out the back door, it was leaky, hard to close (had to slam it) and the floor in front of the door was sinking. Lori said the owners knew and were going to fix it before I moved but I had needed to move in ASAP so it would have to wait. Many of the things I showed her that were damaged she said was just wear and tear. Banister loose on the stairs? Wear and tear? Mold above the shower? Just needed cleaning. I moved in August 2015 and by October the back door still wasnt fixed. I called and emailed Lori and she said she would contact the owners and see what they wanted to do. A week went by and she said they werent going to fix it yet. I explained water leaked in and mushrooms were growing from the cracks in the door and floor. I asked again in Nov. got an excuse. In March I put in a work order and 3 weeks they fixed the back door. Took 4 hours and they left it incomplete. The best was my move out, I had 5 screws on the wall, a bit bigger than a nail. I was forgot to pull them out and fill holes. Lori told me it was going to cost me $200 to fill these 5 screw hole. I told her this was excessive, but she said there was nothing the could they as they contracted the work out. When I questioned this fee she got very snippy and rude. Reading through other comments I found that Hometown has charged others large fees for filling screw holes. This place doesnt care about you or protecting their tenants. Get the word out RUN!!
I love this company! I have worked directly with the owner as well as the staff for three years and I have had nothing but positive experiences. I find them their staff to be extremely kind, caring and they respond very quickly to issues as they arise. They have always gone above and beyond from a customer service perspective. They have earned my trust (which is not an easy thing to do) and my loyalty. I highly recommend this company.
I had to move very quickly and hometown property management helped me find the perfect home! They respond very quickly to work orders and maintenance.
Awesome professionals. I wouldn’t trust my property to anyone else
Everyone is friendly, polite, respectful and attentively genuinely listens to our concerns and responds swiftly. This has been an extremely pleasant move from the apartment in which I was living in Los Angeles in a building with excellent management. We had a very poor beginning with a different rental management company and were absolutely delighted at how consistently awesome HPM has been.
The worst property management Ive ever worked with. When I initially went to see the house I rented I was told carpets were going to be cleaned and everything would be in order. My husband a I signed the contract, when moving date arrived, carpets were just disgusting and house was dirty. When we called to have things fixed it would always go to voice mail, weeks later they will call back. The office is very unprofessional with the worst staff ever. Not to mentioned they did the moving inspection when we already lived the house for around a week, the manager came rushing because she had other places to be and did an inspection in less than 3 minutes. I completed my lease and moved out because the carpet started growing black stains that looked like mold ( forgot to mentioned that carpet was never replaced on this house which was build in 2005). For my surprise the move out inspection was really different as the move in, she really took her time looking a every little detail. I returned the house better than it was rented to me, however they managed to charge a cleaning fee and charged be around $800.00 for the carpet. I guess this time the carpet will get replaced with our money. Us, that we were never home because we both work apparently damaged the carpet. Trust me keep away from this office, like I said very unprofessional and they will charge to for things that they should of fixed to begin with. There are better places to work with...
Good service and piece of mind knowing my property is being well managed.
It took just a few signatures and no more than 14 days for Hometown Property Management to list, show and rent out our property in Olympia with first-rate tenants. We always avoided investment properties because we hated the idea of being landlords, but with Hometown acting on our behalf, we feel more like people who get paid for breathing! Repairs and maintenance are inexpensive and handled/billed in the background, and we simply enjoy a good return on our investment.
Hometown Property management is a professional company you can trust. The staff from the front office to the maintenance team is courteous and professional in everything they do. We have been a client for 3 years and they continue to take great care of our property while we are in a different area. We highly recommend Hometown Property Management for all your property management needs.
My husband is in the military and we moved to Washington last minute. We were moving blind and hadn’t had any time to look at places before hand. We were living out of a hotel room with a dog and a 3 month old and were desperately needing to move into a house. Hometown Property Management was there to help us find a home when other companies never returned phone calls or would miss meeting times. They showed us a house and had us moved in the next day! They were very accommodating and understanding of our situation and did everything they could to get us into a house as soon as possible.
This is a first class, professional firm! I live out of the area and must be able to trust my managers completely. Hometown has managed multiple properties for me for over 10 years and their performance has excelled and definitely earned my trust. They do a great job of finding and vetting tenants, maintaining the properties, and handling tenant repair requests and issues. They have a good sense of the market and provide guidance on ensuring fair rents. The negative comments here are puzzling and completely inconsistent with the character and values of the owners and staff and are certainly not what I have experienced. Notably the disgruntled reviewers seems to be tenants that have had issues with deposits and repairs. Remember that the managers are just that and often must rely on timely decisions and approvals of owners. More often than not, the tenant expectation regarding non-responsibility for damage is unreasonable.Ive dealt with numerous property managers over 30 years and Hometown is the best!
I am so Happy to finally have a Great Management Company like Hometown to make sure the needs of our home are taken care of in a timely manner.Thank You Lori for all you do.Yes,I would recommend Hometown Property Management to handle all your needs no matter if you own or rent.
Were NOT easy to work with and messed up my paperwork for renting a home and made me miss my move - out deadline by their error. I had to track them down almost every step of the way by going physically into their office to get someone to talk to me. Donna who showed me a home was the only person there who helped me out and she was pleasant to work with and is their only saving grace as far as Im concerned! Do NOT recommend them and I advise to steer clear of them if possible!
Great at filling a house but mostly due to the market. Unreliable on uploading anything to their portal. All Service Members should avoid. Never could call the manager or assistants. Maintenance is over priced for small repairs. Accounting does not pay attention to detail. If you dont pay attention they will charge you for everything and are not reliable. I used them for 3 years and finally got documents when selling the home. If you want it rented, they are great; maintenance, documentation, and communication is embarrassing. I will not be using them again. Great lessons learned though.
Overall, they are a good rental company. I have been with them a few years now and they are fine. I like that if i have an issue it is fixed promptly. Luckily in my years in my house, only 1 issue and it was with the fridge. Matienance fixed it promptly.
I really have to write a review because I have to state that with Hometown I have had nothing but a great business relationship. Granted I am a homeowner but I know from my rentors that everything has gone well moving in or out. I find they respond quickly if there is anything wrong and handle it professionally. It has been a wonderful experience being with them and living out of state, this helps me tremendously. Thank you Hometown Property Management and to your staff for all your hard work!!!!
Customer service is not something they value at all. Good luck if you are trying to speak to a property manager, they are not responsive unless you really are a squeaky wheel. It took months to fix the locks on my door, so I never could lock it for fear of not being able to get back in myself. They have lost hard copy documentation of terms of our lease, luckily I keep everything and was able to provide them with their own paperwork, otherwise they would have stuck me with additional fees. Too many unprofessional experiences with property managers to keep going, do business with anyone but them and you will be better off.
This is not my first Rodeo!!From the First time I called Hometown Inquiring about a home to rent or buy. To the day i signed the lease. I was treated with First Class treatment.. I felt confident with my first initial contact with Donna. She went beyond my expectations by answering all my questions and making the rental Process from Hometown very easy. The day i signed the lease i was equally treated well. The staff in the office was very professional and personable. We move in Jan 10th and I feel very confident everything will go well. Thank you Donna, Carol, Jenny and the rest of the staff who was involved. :)
I always had a pleasant experience with staff starting from the very first day. I always received prompt notifications whenever anything was going on I needed to know and quick maintenance reply.
Coming from another country, our first interactions with the office staff and leasing agents was solely per email or phone. Everyone made it very easy to get things done and it was a very smooth process. Communication has been timely and professional, maintenance issues were handled appropriately.
Absolutely terrible property management comapny. Takes literal months to hear back from management about fire and safety issues. Rude, untimely, unsafe, disrespectful. Cannot say enough bad things about this place. Especially employee Renee Fought, worst property management coordinator I have EVER experienced and I LIVED IN FLORIDA.
We applied(paid) for one of their houses this previous weekend but never received a response about our application or anything. I called multiple times and never was able to get anyone to pick up the call. I left a message and still didnt get a response via call or text or email. I checked today and saw that the house we applied for was removed from the list. So we paid for essentially nothing. We know its not guaranteed to get the house. But giving a response is the professionally correct thing to do.
This company is spiteful, hateful and crooked. The ONLY reason we enjoyed this company were the receptionists and one specific assistant manager, they were all so kind and sweet. As for the rest of this garbage company, they will take advantage of ANYTHING they can on you. They dont know rental laws. Ive even spoke with the general manager and he sounded absolutely clueless. We were extremely harassed, vocally and threatening eviction for things that did not exist or things that already existed before we moved in. They care more about your car having a flat tire in the driveway for a day than the fact that its 20 degrees in November and they keep telling you that you have to wait for the heat to be fixed so youre using the oven in an attempt to keep your family warm. Luckily, although we are young, I am far from dumb and I was able to get out after only a few months because they tried to take such advantage of us and knew so little about the RCWs. That was the most stressful and depressing time of my entire life and it makes me sick to my stomach just to think about it. I dont know how people can treat other people this way (we knew several other tenants personally and their horror stories). I would not recommend this company to ANYONE and Id like to see them go out of business. This is my warning.
I have been renting with them for 3 years now. No issues at all. They are even better at communication now with the monthly emails. It is nice to know that if you need help, they are easy to get in touch with.
Hometown is top notch. Everyone is very friendly and really goes above and beyond. I am very thankful for Hometown!!! Keep up the awesome work.
Hometown has given us excellent service for 5 years. We have several rentals, and each time we have a need, they have found us great people in a timely manner. Friendly and professional, we wouldnt trust anybody else!
I first connected with HPM three years ago. Lori from the Yelm office assisted in getting me a renter for a vacancy. She was so helpful and great with communication, and got me a wonderful family to rent our unit. Later on, I moved out of the area and went with HPM to manage two of my properties full time. I worked with Donna initially, and then again with Lori. Both of these women are OUTSTANDING and great about communication. I felt so assured that my properties would be in good care, and tenants treated fairly. If you are looking for property management in the Yelm or greater Olympia area, I have nothing but positive things to say about HPM. As another thing, their maintenance team is very responsive to needs and emergencies. They are on it!
Excuse my language put property manager is a B* you shouldn’t be working in a profession that has to deal with people and communication if your communication skills are piss poor. I’ll get further talking to a wall than talking to Lori . Makes the whole co. Look bad. Unprofessional.
Debbie helped us find our last two houses. She is very helpful, responsive and sweet. Highly recommend!
The group at HPM are great to work with. They are professional, courteous and helpful. Id recommend them to anyone and have done so many times in the past. Keep up the great job.
As a property owner I have never had a problem with this company. They have called me when repairs are needed and repairs are completed without incident. I check my own properties and ensure they are in good repair. I have rented to military and civilain. When I ask for a property inspection it is done. Remember that the owner is responsible for repairs. If the owner is not responsible then Hometown should drop them. The other side of the coin is the renter from hell. I had one who set the house on fire and the neighborhood thanked me (I knew several of the neighbors) when we kicked them out. Hometown has a very large inventory of homes and I dont believe these few comments represent the overall company.
