Called me a few days later with a diagnosis and within about a week Larry had everything done and had me on the road again. They are a very busy shop for good reason. You may have to wait a bit to get an appointment or to get work done, but you will not be disappointed.

We were on the road far from home and had transmission problems with our 2018 Ford Escape. We limped it into their shop. We were desperate .It was determined our transmission was in need of total rebuild. They called Ford for us and determined it was covered under warranty but must be taken to a Ford garage to avoid a high repair bill. They helped us with arranging a tow truck and a rental car so we could be on our way. The whole staff was kind and helpful above and beyond . It was well worth the minimal service charge for diagnosing the problem. They could have easily taken advantage of our situation but their honesty and integrity was exceptional . I would highly recommend them to anyone .👍

These guys are great. Took my ram 2500 in, my 48re transmission was having issues. I called them and they were able to get my truck in the same day. I had an aftermarket extended warranty which usually adds extra hassle but these guys handled it perfectly. They were able to get the transmission built for what I wanted to do with the truck and still have it covered by the warranty. I really appreciated that I was updated on the status of the rebuild often. To top it all off they got the truck done earlier than I was expecting and they found a water pump leak the day before I picked up the truck and had it replaced and covered under the same warranty deductible. I am very happy with the end result, my truck feels like it got a new life. If you are looking for a reliable, reasonable, honest shop take my advice and look no further.

I am absolutely thrilled that I found these guys!! I did a lot of shopping around to find the best of the best after my transmission started going out(three months after buying it!). I cant tell you how long it has been that I have had troubles with shifting into 5th gear. I gave them a call and he wanted to look at it right away. I dropped it off at night and put keys in night box, he called me the next day with an estimate to fix. The service, friendliness and quality of their work is worth it. I had gotten a quote from a different place of $5000 and Matt then quoted me $500 and the final bill was within $3 of his quote. Big difference huh!?? I brought my car in for a Transmission diagnostic my car was there for two hours. The shop manager told me that I might have a pump seal leak. He quoted me a price of 1500 to 3000 and tried to get me to believe it needed to be overhauled. He charged me @ $60 for an incomplete diagnostic. I took my car to Aamco where it was properly diagnosed in just a couple minutes for free. The complete job, including having a new fuel pump cost me @$1350 at Aamco. I would not recommend Thurston county transmission for your car repairs.

I will forever be a loyal customer. Our Mini Cooper repair was going to cost thousands and they MANUFACTURED a part that saved us and its still working great! We also just got our Ford Freestyle repaired for a good $1k less than we expected due to their hard work finding the best deal in parts and creative work. I hate getting cars worked on because I feel like I have to be weary of being taken financially. I trust these guys and it feels good to know Ill get the best deal I can with QUALITY work.

I have written only one other review...ever. I went to Thurston County Transmission to have the transmission in my Mustang serviced because of the reviews that I read and I was not disappointed. R.J. at the front was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Every detail from time quoted to cost were right on. I always hate when you have an appointment and your car sits for an hour before they pull it in a bay. Not the case here. Larry, the owner, has more knowledge and experience than probably anyone in town. I had complete faith that my car was in better hands than my own. They do extraordinary work and go above and beyond what they have to do with no extra charges. They found other problems in the car by using their state of the art computer system while test driving the car. The technicians are very proficient and honest.

There is a collaborative system at their shop where the front desk/appointment manager and the mechanics work together to efficienlty solve the problems that are presented. I observed them all working together in order to quickly solve different customer’s personal needs and problems. It is obvious the whole crew take pride in their work and do their best to save the customer any undue costs. My vehicle’s problem was due to a mistake by the service department of a major Dealership. The mistake was shown and clearly explained to me. I then informed the Dealership of their service mistake and I have now been reimbursed by the Dealership for the costs I paid to Thurston County Transmission. Additionally, knowing this company is able to work on most other mechanical problems other than transmissions, they are my “Go To” place for any future repairs.

This is our go-to transmission shop. Theyve rebuilt a transmission for my Ford Expedition, they rebuilt the transmission in my brothers diesel box truck, and have performed routine transmission service for us on several occasions. Recently, I took my Ram diesel work truck in for a suspected rear main seal leak, and a transmission service. As soon as the truck was on the rack, it was apparent that I had more problems than a leaky main seal, and Matt called me right away to recommend I sort out the engine issues before spending money on transmission service for a truck that might be out of commission for a couple of months. I wish the shop that rebuilt my engine had been as honest and conscientious as TCT.

Let me start this off by saying this company has put together a super team, from the front office to the people in the shop. Everyone just wants to get you back on the road with a life time warranty.I had a trans rebuild on my truck back in June. A few days ago i had a transmission code come up. I called the shop at 4pm and they allowed to bring it in the next day to get looked at. While it was at there I went to the gym, I came back after my work out to the shop and took the truck home with me codes read and cleared with the most likely culprit taken care of. on my drive home the truck seemed to replicate the problem, I called them back and made an appointment to leave it with them the next work day.I have no doubt in my mind that I will be taken care of, the people in the front and nice and educated and they stand behind the work they do with a warranty they respect.**update**Month or so later truck still was giving me codes. Truck went back with them. NOW THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART!! This time the truck was left at the shop and hooked up to monitors while Larry and his team kept a close eye on it. I cant express how much i appreciate this team. the problem was not even necessarily their fault but are still willing to work with me to get it fixed. The ECU (main computer) is grounding its self, or lack of grounding, has caused the problem. If you have any transmission problems these are the people you need to see. It has been a few city bus rides to get to and from the shop for me but I made a good choice by picking the right shop to do the job.

We were fortunate to have our school bus towed to Thurston County Transmissions. The staff and the technicians handled the repair of our vechicle expertly and quickly so we could get the bus back into service at our school. Jason the repair coordinator explained the process and answered all the questions I had. I would highly recommend this business. They not only do transmissions but many other engine repairs as well.

The transmission in my Honda CRV stopped working when out of state and I had the vehicle towed back to WA. I called all the transmission shops and found their information to be most helpful. They had a tow truck sent and I paid an affordable fee. After removing the transmission it was determined it needed to be rebuilt but I did not have the funds. We discussed options and price and agreed on something I could work with. I received excellent help from Laurie to find a company to get the additional funds I had not managed to get myself. When I took the vehicle back for the 2 week check it still had some problems. They kept the vehicle/test drove it and duplicated the problem. They put in an additional part at no charge. When I returned for the next 2 week check there still were some concerns so they kept the vehicle again/duplicated that problem and put in another part with no charge. I received excellent service from everyone at the shop and would highly recommend Thurston County transmission to anyone.

I had my transmission repaired by Thurston County Transmission. I was referred there by a friend of mine that ran a shop south of town before he retired. I repaired office equipment when I was working. Thurston County Transmission is warm and courteous and very professional. Since I had my transmission fixed, and by the way, they did a great job on the rebuild and even updated the parts, I have had other work done by them also. If you are looking for a competent shop to work on your vehicle, you really need to give these people a try. They are fair and will show you what they find straight up. I have been totally pleased with all of the work they did on my vehicle, and I am sure you will be happy as well. Great shop, good people.

Thurston County Transmission in Lacey, was able to diagnose my Honda Passport’s transmission problem and got me up and running again. A few weeks ago I started having problems where the car would shudder, especially at traffic lights, which felt very embarrassing I took the car in and after checking they let me know that transmission fluid was leaking from faulty hoses. They topped up my fluid and replaced the hoses. I do appreciate their honesty and integrity. I was expecting a considerable quote and bill instead I got exceptional customer service and professionalism. From start to finish they were flawless. I am most happy to recommend this company to all my family, friends and colleagues.

Saved us thousands of dollars compared to the dealer. Turns out we needed much less work done than we had been told by the experts on the west side. I had already paid for a full work up on our transmission and had a print out from the dealer of what they said absolutely needed to be done. Jason was awesome! I had my transmission go bad on a road trip to Spokane (would not shift past 3rd gear) and had to get it serviced before I could drive it safely, and feel safe in my own car. It took about a week to fix everything wrong with it (sensors, rebuild solenoids, replacing fluids) and to wait for the parts and the kits to come in. Which was fine with me. And when it came time to pay, he explained everything he did, and also taught me a bit about what each component does. We came to Washington from Oregon and our diesel engine dually broke down on a Thursday afternoon on our way home. We had a state track meet for the kids that we could not miss that weekend. I brought my 2005 GMC Denali in for transmission trouble. They got back with me within a two days telling me exactly whats wrong with it. There is no hassling with them. They get the job done in a time efficient manner. I received my truck back in a weeks time. They also give a life time warranty on the transmission which is definitely a plus in these days and time. This place was recorded by Mikes Automotive I needed my alternator replaced on my 06 Ford escape and it requires the front differential to be removed so a transmission shop was the place to go . They did a great job and I got a military discount and a one year 12000 mile warranty. I can highly recommend this place.

I had my trucks transmission rebuilt here and so far everything has been great. Jason had good communication about everything they did and showed me what was wrong. It was in and out of the shop quickly and they worked with me when I brought them parts to add(trans cooler and temp sensor bung). I did not feel cheated in the end and the trans shifts nice and firm now. Thanks!

I have used Thurston County Transmission for all of my automotive needs since 2013 when another local repair shop recommended them to me. I was not disappointed. These guys are over the top great. My 2005 Volvo XC 90 transmission quit. Took to a shop on the west side of Olympia was quoted $12,000 dollars before tax .They recommended consider cutting my lose What!After talking with Matt at TCT had my car towed to their shop. About a Week and a half later my car is fixed with tax for $4500.00And it runs better than it ever has.Thank You Matt and all the great folks at TCT. Its been a few years since Ive used them. My wife had a Dodge 1500 4x4 with 100k+miles. The transmission was shifting just a tad hard. Wanting to preempt any damage we went in to have it looked at. They took it on a test drive then came back. Get this, they said it doesnt need any work. The miles on it may actually cause a transmission flush cause it to get worse, so dont worry. NO CHARGE! In this day and age its so common for shops to do work thats not really needed just to get $. Not this place. They were honest.

This company is awesome. They did some major transmission work on my car and now its running beautifully. The mechanics were very upfront and honest about cost and about what was wrong with my vehicles transmission. (Of course, the giant hole in it was a dead give away that somethings was wrong...) :-)They were so thorough, they even did checks of other systems since they had the opportunity, and discovered my clutch was about to go out, then they fixed that as well, quickly and cost efficiently. We were very happy with Jason and his team, and very much appreciated that these guys are good people, incredibly knowledgable and experienced in the auto repair field. After several years of service from this company, the issues in our vehicles still existed. We had been thinking it was time to find another shop that was honest and reliable to actually resolve our issues. Jason was a big part of the fault of the company. His attitude and the way he treated me was disrespectful and beyond rude. Recently I referred my mother since her vehicle broke down near the shop only to have her treated horribly as well. Once again after a day of having the vehicle back the same issues happened Jason was again so awful and off putting. The owner was requested to speak to and he was even worse and hung up on my mother. I just cant fathom why people would want to run a company this way and drive away paying customers. We will never trust them with our vehicles ever again and have moved on to a shop that treats us with the upmost respect and actually cares about their customers. Worst experience ever!!! If there was a zero star rating, that would be correct. So unfortunate and waste of money and time!!
