Final update: Welchs took excellent care of us. It was a simple fix. And I am so grateful to have a working fridge. I have deleted the original problem and gone from one star to 5. While they had no legal reason to repair the refrigerator i bought from a third party, they helped me out because they had done the original repair. This is the best reason out there to support local business. If you want to buy used, buy at Welchs. Thank you Taylor and Amanda.Update: Taylor and Amanda both responded to my one star rating and we were able to mend our upset, which I was a party to as well. After Amanda listened to my frustration over appliance purchases and repairs, they have graciously offered to service my refrigerator in Tenino! I will be continuing to update the progress, but I have to say just getting someone to Tenino gives them at minimum 4 stars at this point. It is probably not their issue as i purchased from a private and was feeling confident that they had repaired it and all would be well. Keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Welchs Appliances has been our tried and true used appliance shop and maintenance establishment for years, and I would highly recommend them for both appliances and service. Currently i own, and use daily, a stove, a washer, and a dryer all purchased from Welchs. I appreciate greatly their family-run operation in all of its phases. From customer service to the storeroom selection. Welchs offers excellent used and reconditioned appliances, and if the need ever arises, sends technicians promptly to make sure that everything is maintained in fine working order. I have the highest regard and confidence in this longtime local company. I also appreciate greatly that they are able to use and recycle parts from old appliances, and that they are able to cut down a huge amount of waste that is needlessly thrown into our landfills, recognizing that much of it is still potentially useful. Just that in itself is very valuable to our communities. To sum up this review, Welchs goes way beyond expectations in providing an excellent Olympia-area resource and services to anyone needing cheaper yet high-functioning alternatives to paying out huge sums on brand new household appliances. I am a long-time customer and urge anyone interested to visit their location and experience their high-quality products and service.

I found this place when I needed a place to recycle my washer. A gentleman jumped out of his service truck and rushed to offer me help at the loading dock. I came back to buy a standing freezer and the owner Amanda was great. Happy to support local especially when the service cant be beat.

I bought a fridge here in Oct 2019 and it has worked very well this entire time, plus it was at a great price!!! Recently, I went back and got a dryer. The dryer malfunctioned and they came out immediately to diagnose it; subsequently they replaced a part for good measure. I am very grateful for their six month warranty and thirty day in home repair!

Burner exploded on my range. Still under warranty so called for in home repair. Taylor came within the appointment time, readily assessed the problem, replaced the burner and all is fixed. I will always buy my appliances from Welchs - Ive always had excellent service and prices here.

Took my Magic Chef chest freezer to get repaired. Paid $50.00 for diagnosis. There are no chest freezer anywhere to be purchased. Magic $200 to fix and can’t get a part. Online part is there to order.Most likely easy fix and quick resell. I’m going into pick it up and hope to find honest people somewhere that can repair

Awesome service and great prices. Our machine took a nose dive and we got refered here by Martin our reliable appliance service guy. Google Olympic appliance service here at google maps and youll find him. These guys at the Welches appliance are great and they will certainly answer your needs. Our Friendly and professional installation guy Nick was great and answered our questions for future repairs if needed. Our machine we purchased came with 90 day warranty and this place is going to be our first go to place for future breakdowns god forbid we ever have one. Knock on wood. Have a great day. Brought my LG washing machine in for a repair. The staff was friendly to work with. They took the washer out of my truck and brought it into the shop. I received a call 3 days later with the repair options. Apparently the motor went bad and it was gonna be $93 to repair it. I agreed and it was available for pick up that day. Ill definitely work with them again.

Excellent customer service and fair pricing.We had our fridge serviced here. Their expert came to our house, determined that the repair needed to be done outside of the house for safety so they gave us a loaner fridge (no extra cost) for the few days they had ours in the shop. Our fridge was brought back in working order a few days later.The turn around was a little slow but again, giving us a loaner was awesome so I have no real complaints. Thanks!

What an amazing team. My experience with Amanda was phenomenal. My dryer was acting up, she came to my home, diagnosed the problem quickly, used a mask and social distancing all the while explaining what she was doing and what the cause of the problem was. I would highly recommend them.

We bought a used washer and dryer set from here a year ago and they are still going strong! We had a great experience with their customer service, they answered all of our questions and didnt put pressure on us to buy anything. It was easy to look around the store, we found a very reasonably priced set, bought it and set up delivery. They came and delivered it on time and installed it quickly with no issues. They even included all the necessary hoses. The washer and dryer also came with a warranty from them (I cant remember how long it was) where they would fix any problems that might occur, but we had zero issues. I was nervous to buy used appliances but they made the process super easy and our set has been working flawlessly for over a year now so I know that they sold us quality machines! I would highly recommend this place!**Update** its now 7/2021 and the washer and dryer are still going strong! The dryer belt broke a couple weeks ago but an 8 dollar replacement part and an hour on youtube and its all fixed up and running smoothly! Still cant recommend this place highly enough!

What a great local company! Im so glad I went to them instead of spending a ton of money at one of the big box stores. Ive gotten a couple things over the years from them and most recently got a washer and dryer. Spent probably half what I wouldve spent somewhere else and its so much nicer than I expected. The staff here was great too. The salesperson is new I think but so nice and the delivery guy was great too. And they hauled my old stuff away. Its nice to know thats not going to go in the landfill. I have and will recommend them to my friends and family!

Well my range short circuited on one of the control switches... a spark .... then **whammo** it tripped the breaker and went kaput. I unplugged the range, took the control panel apart and gave the switch a visual, it was obviously burnt out and needed replaced. So I called the first place that came to mind= Harolds appliance (what a mistake) . They told me that they no longer sell parts but could possibly schedule a tech to visit me the following day, in this moment of crisis I need my range and cant afford $ 2-300+ for someone to diagnose what I already know, then order the part for a return trip to install it ( another charge I’m sure).I opted to look around and called Welch’s. The lady I spoke too was very professional, knowledgable, patient to get the model of my range & isolate the part# needed by my diagnosis. They were able to order the part one day air ( no additional charge!) . I was also very impressed that they were practicing social distancing by me paying over the phone then pick up my part next day outside their business in a “ pick up area” ! I Took the part home, installed it in minutes, now the range works like new... They offer a great selection of refurbished appliances and are very friendly and professional. Their reasonable delivery fee includes set up AND removal of your old appliance: well worth it. We just bought a washing machine and plan to buy a dryer and refrigerator in the future. We are so grateful that Welchs offers an affordable alternative to buying brand new.

These people are fantastic. We purchased a refrigerator from them six months ago and it runs great. Taylor came out today to look at my oven that was running low temperatures...it wasnt. The old oven thermometer I was using in the oven to check the temperature was defective. And he didnt charge me for coming out. Where do you get service lake that any more!

Bought a Kenmore washer and dryer set for 400.00. Three trips back for repair of which I had to drive each appliances there my self to get everything actually working or be charge a fee. The washer never really sounded quite right and there occasionally was small amounts of water noticed on floor. I chalked it up to older washer not as quiet and maybe the kids were putting wet clothes on the floor since it was intermittent small amounts, like a few ounces here and there. Washer started getting worse. I didnt want a new washer because I dont like the new washers even though I can afford one. warranty was now up. OK I am done with Welchs so lets fix it. I work on cars I could do this myself and read up on repair which is simple enough. I tipped it back and oil was spayed from top of transmission (of which repair forums say this leakage is from water leaking down on it). and turned out noise was transmission straining from what was going on. New transmission is 150.00 used is 75. OK lets rebuild change seal and fill oil myself. As I am taking it apart I find that the top of the washer tub and seal is only half clipped into place (half was left unsealed leaving it able to leak), the bleach dispenser tube was not even connected, and under the agitator it is missing a large plastic washer and metal clip that goes between the agitator and the metal block. it didnt break off or metal clip would still be there. I never used the bleach dispenser but would explain why when anybody else used the washer with bleach I though they spilled it. I am done with Welchs. They use to be good. I had gotten a set from them before that lasted 6 years. My washer was out of its short warranty and I under stand that. So I called to price parts to fix trying to by pass driving and waiting on shipping. They have no parts in stock. and I let them know why these parts are needed from their error in incorrectly putting is back together. They said a simple oh so sorry but wanted to sell me another for 250 and were willing to take my old washer, at no disposal fee,, fix, and resell. I am guessing they wouldnt even replace the missing washer. I highly recommend Reliable Parts Inc in Tacoma. They have everything in stock.

When I called & went in, they knew what they had, the prices, warranties, delivery charges & delivery procedures. Very smooth transaction from start to set up in our home. Everyone was very pleasant & everything was done as promised. The building was a bit off putting however.

Had a really great experience here. Was referred by some friends when I was in the market for a refrigerator. They had a really good selection and I was very impressed by how clean all of there appliances were, considering they are used . Customer service was great, the store manager Amanda was very helpful and answered all the questions I had.The delivery was scheduled for the day after I purchased so cant complain about that. I have had the refrigerator for over a month with no problems so I can say that I am very happy with my purchase and will continue to shop with Welchs.

My grandfather purchased some appliances off of Craigslist in the dryer work fine but did not heat at all. We narrowed it down to a few things and took the whole heating element into Welches. They were able to get us the part and tell us what was wrong and less than 5 minutes and we were in and out the door. He was very discouraged about his dryer but with the help of Welchs I got it up and running in no time. Awesome business will recommend to everyone in the area.

When I moved to Olympia 15 years ago, I bought a washer and dryer from Welchs. A few days later, I noticed that the delicate cycle wasnt working. I called Welchs and was told that they had put a one speed transmission in that washer. I said that I was never told that when I bought it and had chosen the washer because of the multiple cycles on it. The guy responded with What do you expect for $125? Well, I expect the truth! Now, all this time later, I recently advertised some appliances on Craigslist for sale. A woman from Welchs called me and offered HALF the price I was asking for them! I told her I would take them to the dump before I let them make a dime off me! Over the years, I have heard similar stories to my own from other people. How they stay in business is beyond me!

Terrible Customer service. I called multiple times asking about a part for my stove. 1st time left message, second time spoke with a lady who said she would call me back.. no return call..I figured they were busy, so decided to go in. The lady working wasnt helpful at all, she made me feel like I was wasting her time! I just left and ended up going to 1st Choice Appliances a few miles away downtown Olympia. Havent looked back since!Its too bad that you as the store manager would even say such things..yes I left 1st Choice Appliances a good review because they deserved it. You on the other hand deserve a 0 in my opinion. They happened to be closed that day I needed parts which is why I came to you. Which obviously was a mistake on my part. I will never come back or waste my time with your store ever again!! It just shows why you have bad reviews.

Amanda saved my bacon!I had my washer stop working unexpectedly. My research showed I needed an expensive part to fix it. I called Welch’s to see if they had the part in. While talking to Amanda, she pointed out that I probably just had a sock stuck in the drain motor. I pull out the drain motor and, viola! A sock! She saved my bacon and Welch’s now has my appliance business for sure!

I was looking for a refrigerator and helped by a female today I forgot there name. I was asking questions and felt like I was on a prank show with how unprofessional she was. Took a washer into the shop for service. Got a call that the electronics on the washer was stolen because it was an expensive piece. I never got a copy of the police report and they would not replace the part that was stolen. I have never gone back.
