I appreciate the structure of the classes along with gaining new contacts each visit. My favorite instructor is Monica S.
Great location and amazing staff. Fellow members are cool as well. Favorite facility just waiting on the basketball courts to reopen..
Excellent gym facility with everything you need including an indoor pool
Great place. Love it. Staff are super friendly and helpful.
The manager at the ymca was excellent at handling my concerns. He also did it in a very timely manner.
Great place. Clean and everyone is so friendly and helpful
Great place to get the body moving, they have machines and free weights, a great lap pool for swimming, a splash pool for the kids.
The employees are always so kind and helpful to everyone. The facility is always so nice and clean . They offer so many options as far as the workout equipment
They have the nerve to block my number simply of me asking them are their basketball gym are open without being rude and talk provocatively. and Ive been to multiple ymcas in my life and they all have a stigma against having basketball gyms when in fact it generated more money than all the other programs they offer,. doesnt make sense man it really isnt.
I love working out with my ymca family! Group classes are the best. Gym is clean and equipment is in good shape.
Great water in and warm. New people and the class was great.
One of the main reasons I signed up was for the basketball court. But it’s rarely open for whatever reason. Not sure why they have a basketball court if it’s rarely open
Its been a good experience. Little cool convenient workout place. They have lockers, showers, beverage spot, basketball court, pools, hot tubs and more. I only gave 4 stars because the facility does not have a full basketball court anymore but its only a half court basketball gym a little disappointing but if you love basketball than it probably wont matter as much. Just wanted you to know. Besides that I would give it 5 stars
Decent place if u want to work out or do cardio. watch out for the caucasoids cuz this is the pothole called Mississippi
Clean facility, friendly staff, rules still in place to try to keep everyone safe. Still fun for the whole family.
Regardless of the changes we all have to go through....the YMCA family can never do anything to disappoint me. The staff are always so great and respectful and the Olive Branch Chapterr is the best by far. Thank you for opening your doors again.
Very safe and also very informative about what is going on. Assisted me and my son with getting enrolled. Really nice way to see things reopen
Family oriented and fun!
Clean Top Equipment
My family and I visited this location for the first time on yesterday because our Nuber location does not have an indoor basketball court. My Husband and sons were excited to arrive until we were rudely approached by the Caucasian night Manager who immediately asked us “What do you need”. As if we didn’t belong there. I was shocked at his greeting and immediately told him we wanted to scan in. He grabbed our card and handed it back aggressively. My husband and myself kept cool and simply will call today to report the Managers behavior.
They treat you like you are beneath them. Would not recommend. Try and cancel they will still charge your account. 👎
During the week the front staff has always been super friendly and helpful. They greet you with a smile and good morning/afternoon/evening but today the 2 young ladies greeted me with a mean look and attitude. 🙁
Two months ago my fiance and I decided to sign up for a family membership. We had to wait about 10 minutes at the counter until someone finally greeted us. When we told them we were interested in a membership a manager came over immediately to give us a tour. We did a walk through and came back the next day to join. After we signed up and paid I felt like everyone was unfriendly and not very helpful. I felt ignored anytime i needed to ask a question. Every time Ive gone the counter is overcrowded with people. They dont have it very organized. I usually have to wait a minute or so to be scanned in. The lifeguards and staff around the pool areas are VERY VERY RUDE. They are all high school kids who dont have much people skills. The life guards sit or stand with a blank stare and blow their whistles but they dont make it clear who they are blowing the whistle at. The first time at the pool we were swimming with my 5 year old for almost an hour. I took her to the bathroom brought her back to the pool with her dad and I went to the bathroom. When I came back a lifeguard had came up to him and said our kid couldnt wear her floated that she had been wearing for almost an hour already. We told a manager, he explained they are hired through another company. We asked if we could have a copy of the rules so we can be familiar but unfortunately they have no rules written up to give out. They have no rules posted on walls for anything. The only rules posted are pool rules. Rules are not made clear at all! The second incident my fiance and I were working out and some people got in an altercation on the basketball court. Our two small children were at the daycare area. We were getting ready to leave and went to get the kids and people were acting weird. No one was in the daycare rooms. Finally we found someone and all the kids, babies and toddlers, were cramped up in a single bathroom with the daycare staff. We were never notified that anything was going on. My kids were pretty shook up about it since it was only their second time at the daycare and it was a new place to them! The police were called so it was a pretty big deal. The third incident was when my kids and I were at the pool outside. My 1 almost 2 year old and my 4 almost 5 year old kept going up to the ball that sprinkles water out of it. They kept sticking their hands over the water. I kept hearing the life guard whistle over and over so I finally look to see whats going on and she was sitting her butt in the lifeguard chair and staring and my kids blowing the whistle over and over because no one knows who she is blowing it at and she finally says dont touch the ball which they werent they were sticking their hand above the ball in the water shooting out. Then I end up losing my phone here one day. The counter was overcrowded with people and staff wouldnt acknowledge me no matter how much I said excuse me. It was just me by myself with two kids, one that Im carrying everywhere. I find the manager he straight up walked off and never came back, I could tell he wasnt from his attitude from the get go. He could care less, wasnt his problem. I walk all around this building trying searching for it and trying to find someone who would maybe know where it could be if turned in. I walked in and out of this building about 5 times until I grabbed a stroller out of my car because my arms were sore and it was 90 something degrees this day. Finally I found a worker coming out of the daycare. She was the only one who helped Me! She walked all over the building and even tried calling it. I ended up leaving empty handed after an hour. I have not been back since that day because I was so upset with this place. I felt like after they got me to join I was ignored and they became unhelpful anytime you had to ask them about the rules or certain activities going on up there, etc. My fiance has decided we will most likely cancel our membership since weve had a problem every single time we have came. The staff members seem to not know their job well bc you get a diff answer from each
Best gym in the area! They actively add equipment, classes, etc to help the customers in their goals. Great price to have access to all YMCAs in the US! Highly suggest!
Two complains here. One: No one seem to just remember to turn the darn music ON and up in the wellness center! It’s a gym come on! Two: nursery check in doesn’t run smooth when more than one parent is dropping up or picking up a baby/toddler. Nursery staff doesn’t seem to interact with the kids much. Mainly seem to just sit in the rocking chairs and watch the kids.
We always have a good time at the Olive Branch YMCA. Theyve got a nice basketball gym, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and a really nice kids center. They also have an excellent staff that will work with you. The only thing I dont like is that they converted all of the racquetball courts to exercise rooms.
My 2 yr old is taking swim lessons here! He absolutely loves it and so do I. Staff is wonderful, facility is clean, and prices are reasonable! You cant go wrong at the Y!!
We wanted to be members here, but the director was so inflexible in her thinking, we just couldnt do it and feel like were treated fairly. The rub was, I wanted to do an individual plan -- no problem, pay the fee, whatever, per month. However, my wife is only here half of the month, working the other half out of town. To any reasonable, fair person, it would seem paying half of her rate would be equitable. But, the very inflexible director seemed devoid of common sense and ignored this idea. Great job leading!! Not
I love this Y. It is clean and I feel extremely comfortable working out here. The staff is nice too. I love the family atmosphere here. The elder crowd keeps me on my toes. Love it!!
They always have something in the basketball court besides basketball 🤦🏽♂️ If the building is not big enough for what their doing they need to remake sum decisions!
It is pretty good
I have mixed feelings about this Y. I think the people you see when you first come in the door, daycare staff and wellness center staff are very friendly. I have issues with the life guards and the pool area the most. The rules seem to change daily. We’d been in the outdoor and indoor pools atleast 10 times when someone told us we needed wrist bands.... I still to this day have no clue where to get them, haven’t ever put them on my kids, and have been in the pool an additional 5 times and no one has said a word so idk! We had done the indoor pool probably 12 times and were always using pool noodles and so were all the other kids, tonight I was told no and to put it back (but no one said a word about wristbands 🤷♀️). Another night it was that my kids didn’t have life vests on, ok... I thought as long as dad is with one kid and I’m with the other it’s fine, she let me slide but again, no one had said anything previously or since then about it. I see other people no wristbands and no life vests so I’m completely confused. I’m all for pool safety but the rules need to be the same and enforced the same everyday. I feel like I’m on pins and needles going in waiting to see what we do wrong today. I watched a mom blow up a floating ring thing for her baby and get kicked out of the pool for it, but tonight a dad had one with his daughter and no one said anything. So confusing. As for the gym, it’s good. Wish the free weight section was bigger or in a different room because it’s hard to get a bench and it’s packed so even standing to try to lift is impossible. But the place is clean and the staff is always nice. No room to stretch either, just a small area right when you walk in out in the open.Only other complaint is the locker rooms. I can’t take my 5 year old son in the women’s, which I get but there is only one family bathroom. The only way to the pool is down the hall out in the open so when you’re dripping wet and another family is using the family bathroom I’m stuck standing in the hall holding a baby and dripping 5 year old waiting.
Great place to exercise or Physical Therapy! Family oriented! The front desk staff needs to be more friendly drop the attitude.
Although you can join and get a lot out of it just by yourself this voices even better if you have a family membership. It actually seems to make it cheaper than more people you have. The only downside to this place in my opinion is a fact that the outdoor pool could definitely be a lot better. I understand as water slides and geared more towards children but there is no room she really even sit in the water on a busy day. Also I wish they would bring back racquetball that was an amazing workout and there really isnt a place to do that around this area easily. I know it came across is dangerous but there are a lot of things that are even more dangerous like lifting weights. Anyone playing racquetball knows that they are taking their own risk getting hit in the face or bruised so let them do that
I was excited to find a free pass on the Internet so I could work out during my travels. Unfortunately, Miss Yelverton at the front desk was extremely rude, and doubled down on her lamentable misuse of the English language in an effort to counter my answers. The facility itself is not proportionally built because the hallway has double the width as the track, which is too narrow to host all the walkers on it. I was thankful that the new director, Mr. Justin, directed me to a space outside where I had enough room to work out. I do not understand why in the New America, we only hire young, rude, and arrogant people instead of finding the best employees that Olive Branch may have to offer simply because they fit the media-spun priority of a youthful outside appearance over intelligence and decorum. I am sorry to see that the YMCA buys into this new ageism in the United States. I certainly wouldnt take out a membership there because the buildings layout lacked logic, and because I would not deal with such workers every time I came for a workout. However, I did what I came for, therefore, and was thankful for having been given that opportunitiy.
It a great place to go workout. The staff are amazing. My children love going because the they have so much fun.
I absolutely love the YMCA in Olive Branch. The staff is very courteous and welcoming at all times. The Zumba instructor Wendy will motivate you to come every day. They have so many activities for the entire family!
Excellent facility! Staff is so friendly and helpful and wonderful! Family oriented, Love this place. Love it!
Great location, however it’s fairly difficult to get a call back if you have questions/concerns about swim lessons. Group classes are so much fun! Check out my IG: missbush or BushnMajor to see which class is pictured below!
Enjoyed the facility and would have continued my membership but my major issue was with the daycare. How can anyone get their work out done if every ten minutes they are being paged because their daycare staff has no idea how to handle a crying 2 year old?
Ive loved being a member at the YMCA 3 summers now! Always clean, great workout room, nice indoor and outdoor pools.
We like the outdoor pool but its too expensive and crowded. Not open 24 hours. Daughter attended ymca and swim lessons and she would complain that they just played in a small room or on playground most of the time and she was bored and didnt get to swim much at all. They have too many kids per adult. We would not attend again due to quality verses price.
Signed up today w a family of 6. Noah was precise and understandable about joining. Very pleasant experience.
The gym is rarely ever open, seems like their trynna keep us out the gym.
You must think I go here for my health LOL you are so right : ) I feel so good when I leave the y
Pools were great. The whole place was very clean and at a fantastic price for the whole family.
Clean and nice atmosphere.
I really like this place, they have made me and my 2 girls feel so welcomed I would not change a thing about this place.
I dont like that the membership is so expensive and yet the hours are very limited. There should be 24 hour access.
Horrible people skills! The night manager should be fired! Don’t put your children in swimming if they are beginners!
I love the slides and your lifeguards are very nice and helpful
Family oriented. They also have enougjt to get what you want. Cardio, Strength, Endurance...its all there.
The basketball court has been cut in half, and not open some days.
They have everything you need for a great workout and for the family.
1st off lets discuss the monthly fees & how they make people who earn more money pay more to be members here... So if You can afford it you will be subsidizing people who cant (something about that just goes against ALL my principals)...2nd This place is NOT family friendly @ all & they will go out of your way to undermine your parental authority. If you have a child who is EXCITED about working out with you, their parent, & they see that you are being a parent & training your child right with proper technique & form they will quickly come & tell you that your child is Not allowed on this or that machine or this or that part of the gym... (Despite taking their 2 hour class)3rd The pool area & its CRAZY schedule... How many water aerobics & jazzersize classes do you need to have in the pool for 1 day? And to have them during peek times when families want to take their kids swimming!?!? This means we are relegated to the lap pool which is freezing cold & more often then not has the swim team practicing in it so it is closed to the public anyway!Heaven forbid that you as a parent want to teach your child how to swim yourself & not pay them to teach your kids.... They will demand that your child wear a life vest!4th. This building & parking lot are WAY to small for the amount of people that use this facility... Every single day from 430 til 8pm the parking lot is over crowded that sometimes you must park in the church larking lot next door. The weight room is so small & not enough equipment to go around that alot of times you have to weight 20-30 min to use a piece of equipment or use a space.5th The Basketball court is a HUGE joke... Dont even bother trying to play on it because they are either having practices or playing league games on it.6th They did away with the 2 racquet ball courts & made a personal trainer room out of 1 & a spinner classroom out of the other.7th They close super early on the weekends 6p on Saturday & 5pm on Sunday (BTW they open late on Sunday because they are having church)In conclusion this place is WAY OVERPRICED for the services they provide. The staff is extremely unprofessional & most of them are very childish (because the majority of them are still teenagers). The building is overly congested.
Great place to take the kids to, lots of activities and fun things to do
I love going to the Olive Branch, MS YMCA. The people who work there are very helpful and the facility is kept in very good condition.
I love it! They are all so helpful and friendly.
Great fitness instructors!👍 I enjoy the atmosphere. Seeing families together.
Nice but too crowded at the time Im able to go. No fault of YMCA
Great and everyone is helpful
The Y is an awesome place to work out and the people are so friendly
My family loves this location. My children will be taking swimming lessons there this summer.
First time doing water aerobicexercise love it getting out of the water omg
Make sure to bring cash if you have a guest under 16. They dont take cards. Be prepared to wait for member services--Everyone else goes first.
Super friendly staff and not too crowded
Very friendly and always ready to help.
We just joined today. Great place.
Excellent
The staff is Awesome! The coffee is Great!!
Staff was very uninviting and rude at times. I used to take my kids to swim there until they kept changing the times and then would give me a hard time about letting them swim. Ive had several bad experiences from them.
The employees and members are friendly and the pools are nice.
I love all the water aerobics classes!!!!
Many local people have memberships here. Because its a great value
Good place to swim, lifegaurds on duty.!.
Its a fun place and the staff is nice
This is my favorite Y . When I visit some of the others I miss this one. Weve been coming for years and I look forward to many more.
The outdoor pool is amazing.
Great place to meet lovely people
Very clean and well managed.
Staff and other members are not very welcoming to the Spanish speaking community.
Not satisfied with staff they made us leave because we weren’t over 13 and we been going there for 3 years and never had this problem.!!! I AM NEVER COMING BACK. My dad can’t enjoy himself because of this. More kids came in the gym without parent under 13 and they didn’t get kicked out!!!! Issue needs to be fixed, but still not coming back.
Offer a variety of classes
Very clean gym
Wonderful and friendly staff❤
A very welcoming place
Excellent for family and entertainment for kids
Huge building however this is not the Y for weigh lifters, perfect for cardio, weight room is so cramped you cant move
Great place love if
