We all know that finding a reliable and honest mechanic is a challenge. Gary is the first mechanic Ive used in the area other than a dealer and I wont use another. I found him through yelp/google reviews and everything that is said about him is true. Hes an honest, straight shooter that gets the job done at a fair price. I cant recommend Gary enough.

Refreshing to find a business that people are honest and actually work! I had two cars break within two weeks of each other and he fixed one the same day and while waiting on a part for the other, he went above and beyond cleaning it out and keeping it dry. Would definitely use them again and refer business to them.

My husband and I were staying at a hotel near this shop. We were in town for a truck show and of course our ac compressor went out on good Friday at 3pm.... the name really speaks for itself. I heard from their service by a couple of co workers, I went to another shop looking to repair my Toyota 4runner suspension and steering problems, and the price given was just to much and couldn’t confirm led if that will fix all the problems 🤔 I ask Gary if he works with what was wrong, fixed on the same date and I couldn’t believe how awesomely my truck was driving again and how the price of the hard work doesn’t change by the end of the day!, no surprises, I have never come back to the same mechanic. Gary and his team are great! I dropped off my car after calling for an estimate and the work was completed more quickly than Id anticipated. Gary helped me with supplying my own parts and was honest about what work would need done. He was even able to salvage an existing part on my car to save me some money. Im new to the area so Im thankful to have found an honest and reliable shop and would recommend them to anybody!

Awesome experience. I asked staff to verify if recommended (by a local dealership service department) expensive repairs were necessary. Gary and his staff were given a copy of the recommended repairs with pricing. They examined the car and determined NONE of the repairs were necessary. They were honest, professional and timely. I would not hesitate to use Awesome Auto in the future and I would recommend their services without reservation!

Best most honest guy ever! Tells you what you need to fix no BS, no Over-evaluation, doesnt buy expensive parts you dont need, shows you whats wrong and fixes it. My engine fell out of my car (due to another mechanic) he repaired it, told me when this dies, junk it. .lol .the transmition was smashed, everything needed to be put back together and repaired, it was bad.. But he fixed it for really cheap because he didnt make me order any parts, he just fixed them, and it ran another 7 years. Awesome is the perfect name for Garys place!

Have used Awesome Automotive for many years. Gary and Dale have worked on every car, truck and SUV for myself, wife, two sons and my mom (83) They are Honest and Up Front. To me; the piece of mind in dealing with someone who is not going to take advantage of you (or your mom) is worth paying a bit more. I have not found them to be overpriced. They are fair and reasonable. I could not recommend them more!

I called this shop because I spent money at the dealership for repairs with no results. They told me to come by and they checked out my car so I could go back to the dealership with some information. They gave me some information and they actually recommended that since I had money invested at the dealership that I should go back there for them to fix the problem. I really appreciated their help and their honesty! I would definitely recommend them and will be telling others about this place.

We brought our car in to have them run diagnostics when the check engine light came on. It seemed like the transmission had been slipping but Gary informed me that the issue actually had to do with a sensor for the fuel system. He cleaned the sensor and only charged us for running game the diagnostics. Gary seemed honest and like he had our best interests in mind. Completely worth the drive from Tampa and I will be taking the car there next time it needs to be serviced.

Brought my car as it was having some issues. The owner diagnosed that I needed to replace my catalytic converters, and was honest they wouldn’t be able to weld it at the time. Did not charge me but if I had any other issues I would certainly go back as I can tell this is an honest shop.

I went in to bring my Chevy because I had a problem with the gas gauge. Gary was able to look at my car the same day. He gave me diagnostic for $50 dollars, which is a great price. He was very sweet and genuinely cared about the issue we were having. I thought it was amazing that even with this time with COVID-19 pandemic, he still works his customers because honestly times are hard. If youre looking for an honest mechanic, stop looking cause this is the spot!Not once but twice Gary has helped me. The first time I was told by another shop that my serpentine belt was on its last leg. So I took my car here to get a second opinion, guess what? The serpentine belt was absolutely fine! Did he charge me to just check the belt? Nope.The second time a shop down the street...I wont say any names but lets just say the double M shop was trying to charge me $1200 to get a coolant tube replaced in my car!!!! Took it back to Gary to get a second opinion & he charged me only $300 to fix the tube! I mean can it get any better than that? So Id say Im a very pleased customer with Gary & Dale here at Awesome Automotive! Honest & affordable!!!

Honest & Fairly priced! After needing the alternator changed in both of our vehicles and getting over charged at Murray Automotive for the first vehicle, we shopped around and found Awesome Automotive which was $300 less. Gary also took the time to help us find a fuse that the dealership tried to tell us was not sold separately. We spent $28 on the fuse rather than $2200 on the entire part. He also let us find and purchase our own part and he just charged us for the install. He is Awesome and we will be using them for all of our future needs. They are HIGHLY recommended!

Leave it, well take a look.After work, only 3 hours later, I came back ready to wait. He had already gotten to looking over my car!But.. told me my trans was going to go out any day. He explained it to me and offered to lift it and SHOW me the issue.I fully expected him to try to hard-sell me a transmission job, but no. His advice? Take it to a dealer or junk it. AWESOME is the perfect name for this establishment, because Gary is absolutely awesome, and then some! I was recommended by Cheryl Paine and her husband Don, I couldnt be more grateful for the referral. I have a 98 Honda Accord, and although its an old car, its all Ive got... I had a clunking noise going on in the front end, which no other mechanic had been able to properly diagnose. Id taken it to a popular chain/franchise but they quoted me thousands of dollars and a lot of unnecessary labor to fix all kinds of things that I didnt need. From the moment I arrived at Awesome Automotive I was greeted, and treated with care and the whole experience was actually enjoyable. Gary got me in quickly, was hilarious the whole time and very hospitable, offering me something to drink while I waited. Its almost unheard of to hear the words honest and mechanic in the same context, but its crystal clear the Gary is a good guy, who wants to provide an honest service, for a fair price. He diagnosed the issue with my vehicle, quickly, distilled what was essential to fix and what other issues could wait. He fixed my car quickly and got me back on the road with a smile on my face. Heard of this place based on a referral and after reading reviews, I knew I had to give it a try. Gary did not disappoint! I arrived on a Friday, within 15 minutes of the posted closing hours, with every intention of just dropping off the truck and having the work done on Saturday (note: Google still says they have Saturday hours, but Gary told me as of Jan 2018, hes no longer open on weekends but Google just hasnt updated the hours online).I showed Gary an estimate that I got from a local competitor and he said hell see if he could get the parts and hell do it today...at close to 5 on a Friday! I told him that while I appreciated the offer, I couldnt let him stay late on a Friday evening just for me. So he asked, how about Monday? I told him that I worked 8-5 Monday. He says, come by here at 7:30 and Ill give you a ride to work. I was immediately sold! I was not a personal friend, I was not a repeat customer; I was just someone that showed up on a Friday.After all was said and done, he did all the work that was on the original estimate for about 2/3 of the cost that was quoted from the competitor. Needless to say, I will be coming back to Gary at Awesome for all my future automotive needs. The price, the personal touch, local small business...I 100% recommend this place to everyone!

Based on my experience today, If I could give Gary 10 stars I would. What started off as a somewhat costly fix on my car culminated with a desperately needed and previously impossible fix on my daughters truck. When her dealership was begging for upwards of $2K+, following previous payments of $1600 which accomplished less than zero and they were still uncertain as to the problem or remedy, Gary had it diagnosed, fixed and out the door in an hour and fifteen minutes! He absolutely does not waste your time nor his. As far as my vehicle, it was completely working in a matter hours vs. days which was what my dealership maintained it needed ... and it cost me less! I have no intention of returning to another dealer for service - unless under warranty or maintenance included in the purchase price. Oh, and I may mention that while waiting on my daughters truck I watched as his mechanic greeted and treated an elderly lady that came into the garage. They are first class all the way around. The place is also very clean and from what I can tell, well organized. I was initially questioning how a business could amass almost 200 5 star reviews. I now understand why.

To see a business maintain a 5 Star review with even ten reviews is a miracle. To see one maintain it with nearly 300 reviews...well, that tells you how good this place is. He will give it to you straight and will not BS you. I feel secure taking my car here because I know I can trust the diagnosis will be accurate and not have unnecessary add-ons. The only thing better would be having a skilled mechanic in your family, and even then..can you really trust your family? You can definitely trust this guy. Don’t make a multi-hundred or thousand dollar mistake and pass by; do it right the first time and come to this place.

I have never been happier with any mechanic. This guy is not only above the board honest, but has old school morals like you just cant find anymore. I would not only recommend that anyone I know take their vehicles to this gentleman for estimates or repairs..but if even thinking about buying a used car, I would certainly want someones opinion like his. Gary is THE BEST mechanic I have ever had the experience of working with. He went out of his way to be in the shop- on his birthday- to help me with some issues, when other shops told me they wouldn’t even give my concerns the time of day.He honestly and simply explained my issue- and didn’t try to force me into a full oil change when all I needed was a little extra oil. He even blew out my sunroof drains (for free after another shop had quoted me $200), and checked the sensors on my tires after I mentioned in passing that the car was coding.I highly recommend him, and I’ll definitely be back- for the life of his business, he’ll be my mechanic!!

Gary at Awesome Automotive is an awesome and honest mechanic. I have been taking my car to him for several years now and things that no one else can seem to fix he always gets it done. We just had to have a power steering pump replaced and the next day or two my daughter complained it was harder to turn then before we got it fixed. I called Gary and he said bring it down, he sat in the car, moved the steering wheel, opened the hood looked at a couple things and said its a defective power steering pump. That was at 3:30 in the afternoon, he called me before 4:30 and said the car was ready and that he had replaced the defective power steering pump. It is working like a charm now. He is very honest and if he tells you you dont need to do something on the car, listen to him, he truly knows what he is talking about. Thank you Gary Keep up the great work for us.

Shockingly high mark up on the cost of parts! Much higher than industry standard. I don’t know how he gets away with it. By the time he has done the labor to determine what part(s) is needed, he has got you - and he can and will gouge you on the part price. Be prepared when you get the invoice.

Gary was great! I had my car towed there and he immediately took a look and figured out the issue (I was expecting to leave my car overnight due to it being after 4pm). He replaced my busted hose and I was out of there within an hour! I was very happy to leave with my car same day as I was expecting the worse. Awesome Automotive is in fact awesome. If I could give ten stars I would. This place truly is awesome, like the name says. Went there because my AC was out, and not only was the service the fastest i’ve ever experienced, the price was great and the folks were incredibly friendly. (They offered us snacks! Ive been going here since he purchased this shop. Ive tried several mechanics and I wasnt going to go to another one but I needed some A/C work done and you need a shop for some of that. Im not a professional mechanic but Ive fixed nearly everything on a car at one point in my life or another. Im at the point now that there are a dozen other things Id rather do then fix my cars, so I take them here. I trust him based on a long history of good, honest work.This time my window fell into my door. He fixed it the same day I dropped it off.The best part though? He is reasonably priced. With most places you can pick two: Fast, Good, Cheap. With Awesome you get all 3, and he is friendly to boot!

Love this shop its so close and convenient. Bo was honest and saved me some money could have sold me an expensive battery but he didnt and also made sure I had my car within a few hours all while I was at work. Your search for a mechanic you can trust is over.(Yes I am a customer, not a friend or relative of Awesome Automotive.)Where else can you bring in your own parts and use their name to get a discount at the parts store?Everything they did for me was common sense trouble shooting, diagnostics, and repairs; all in an effort to do it the least costly way. They explained it to me, they showed me the problems and they did what they said they would do at a fair price.They could have tried to sell me plenty of other repairs on my old car(1993) that I know for sure could be done. They did not. But now I know where I will take it if I decide to have more repairs done.What more is there?Edit: 2018 Apparently there is more. The first repair was an easy fix.After using their services a number of times since my first review above, I have come to realize Awesome Auto is sort of a cherry picker mechanic. Meaning they take on the jobs that will make them quick money. When the diagnostics require something off the beaten path to track down, they might just throw up their hands and walk away and ask you to tow your vehicle out of there. It would also appear that they dont quite charge you based on the website listed price of $60 an hour.

Lives up to the name! This shop is quick, detailed, and fair on price. I needed 3 sensors replaced, and per sensor they charged me $20 less than the parts store did for the same exact part! For honest service on top of a welcoming atmosphere, Im glad I live right down the street in case I need service again. I would refer Awesome Automotive to anyone.

Always AWESOME service. Fair with the cost for repair

I drove for 6 months without AC thinking I would pay an arm and a leg to get the AC fixed. I saw the great reviews and decided to check it out. I was in and out in 20 minutes with ice cold air! We had our vehicle towed from another shop after hearing how much they quoted us. Not only was Awesome Automotive over $300 cheaper he was knowledgeable, very nice and explained everything. When we picked up our vehicle he went so far above and beyond for us we would recommend to anyone!!

First time to awesome automobile and it was great experience. I used to go to different automobile service chain and every time end up negotiating on unnecessary warning/services offered. I have old car so brought my own parts to save some bucks and they entertained very well. Best, honest and affordable service in area. I decided to take my car to Awesome Automotive and Diagnostic Repair after reading all of the positive reviews online. I had my belt and motor mount replaced. Gary gave me honest advice and showed me what needed to be done in the future for repair. It turned out one thing the dealership service department had listed as a “critical” (and costly) replacement was actually a minor fix that the dealership had not put back in place when they had previously replaced something else. Gary and his team were able to provide me with great service for an affordable cost.

Was from out of town and needed brakes done on a very unique 4x4 van. Gary was fantastic, was able to do the job in just a day. The price was very, very fair. was afraid that being out of town someplace might overcharge but he did the work really well and at a great price. Would highly recommend!
