This place is a little hiddem gem off Hefner. If you didnt know it was there youd have no idea its there. It is a fun place they have tournament volleyball, and free play. They also have a place a spot for cornhole, and another game Im not sure what is, but you have like 6 big blue barrels on each side and a ball. There is a food truck they have, right beside the bar stand. It is also kid Friendly. Its a great place to hang out wether you play volleyball or not. Check it out.
Pretty nice facility yet bathrooms are grouse. For the $10 that you pay to enter the bathrooms should be cleaner than that
My children enjoyed playing basketball here. But I recommend thus league for beginners, or someone wanting to play just for fun/exercise. Bc they are NOT competitive at all. And a bit disorganized to be honest.
This was the first time that I had been here but my grandson had a basketball game there. Which his team won by the way🙂The lighthouse is out on Hefner Rd. Take Lake Hefner Hwy to Hefner, make a right turn and a quick left. The gym is around back
Sister plays volleyball there. Absolutely love the courts.
Awesome place to spend some time outside and playing some volleyball!!
Great courts nice people i really enjoy watching Basketball games here!
Love the same volleyball courts but the parking in the back is a mess.
Nice facility really has gone up from the previous years
This is such a great place for kids events. My son had many basketball games here, and the staff was always extremely friendly and helpful. Great place for kids and families.
We have been members for three years and have loved the warm water workouts in that large pool with awesome instructors. Every day they are kind and caring, and they other people working out are friendly and we are all there for gentle aerobic workout. If you want a step up more aggressive workout its at the other end of the pool also with an awesome instructor. This is an indoor warm pool and we workout all year but off on federal holidays, so come on down and see if what I have written is so true.
Good time, great atmosphere.
Great fun for kids playing basketball although the volleyball area is for older kids and young adults
Excellent facilities.
My son has join the army for 3 years. We sent his orders to this company and they continue to charge his account saying it’s not a permanent location. So we got a letter from his recruiter stating that he will be stationed for 3 years. They tell me they will continue debiting his account $100 a month while he is in basic and training.Absolutely disappointed!! Who in their right mind would be so greedy to charge a soldier $100 a month when he’s not even in the state using the facility.
I love the warm water pool and the hot tub. It is so therapeutic for my joints and exercising and the price is very affordable. People are very friendly staff and clients. You get to know people and make friends. It is very clean and neat. They even furnish you with their key to the lockers . The hours are convenient and they even have hair dryers and an ironing board and iron if you need it while you are watching TV In the locker room..
After coming here few times just to see if I like it I finally got the membership and that was best decision ever!!! Im a swimmer, and you can not get a good deal like this anywhere in the city! Plus the hot tubs, saunas and tanning beds are such a great benefit! The gym is very well equipped, variety of classes in the morning AND afternoon (yes - after 5pm!!!), and fantastic staff !!!! So friendly and knowledgeable!!! Cant believe i havent heard about this place before!
All the equipment I need and its 24 hours everyday of the year. The only reason why I dont give this gym five stars is because the staff charges you 25 dollars to change cards. I go with a group of several people and three of them have got new cards from the bank and when they talked to the personal trainers to update their info the trainer always says everything is fine. The following month when we try to go in the staff member goes on to say something is wrong and they didnt get the payment and now its 60. This has happened 3 times in our group. Other than that cash grab this gym is great.
Great facilities.
A great place undergoing some major upgrades, there is a gym, swim lesson, Kung Fu, and much more.
Be very aware their fitness trainers are a scam I’ve spent over a $1000 for only 2 sessions cause the trainers never showed up. The customer service help is a joke no help what so ever not even caring. I’ve had issues from the job and was never aloud to speak with a manager to discuss my issue or how to resolve it. Such a waste of money
If I could give 0 stars, I would. Ive done what they asked to cancel and called multiple times and they refuse. Ive paid about $1,000 for a service Ive never used. Also, they charged during a PANDEMIC when I CANT use their service. Nobody answers when I call and I just keep getting charged. Very unhappy.
In all fairness the Lighthouse has features that few if any other health facilities offer. Start with an Olympic size indoor swimming pool that is open year around, steam bath facilities which are seldom inoperable (a feature apparently too difficult for 98% of their competitors to offer) and a therapeutic hot pool. The staff is friendly and helpful but management could use an occasional attitude adjustment. A pretty unique facility, all in all.
Charge volleyball tourney, no food or drinks allowed in. Concession stand “Sucks”. Stuck there all day no decent food to eat. Then they charge you five bucks to get in. You would think they would provide better food.
I moved away and they refuse to cancel my contract even though I am within the agreements to cancel. Very rude and snotty on the phone as well. The trainers schedule based on their schedule and I have had my trainer forget about our appointment more than a handful of times and it’s hard to reschedule and be a working mom. Do not spend your money here. They don’t care about you at all.
It getting better now that The Weight Room has taken over. I look forward to future improvement. Huge workout area, community involved, warm water pool, judo inside and cryotherapy. Several trainers available too
Love this place. I do physical therapy there. Great group of gals
Great facility!
Cool place. Held a great tournament there for basketball.
I just went one day to take some information on the one on nexpressway OKC the guys sign me up for a membership since they took 300oug of my bank account and I have to go to the bank cancel that card .I never been there again I called their office to cancel everything they told me they wont and they was going to let the fees build up and ruine my credit this is not right and I need help to find a lawyer to fight these guys because this is not right and I want everybody to be very careful when dealing with them they will set u up and destroy your life
After the remodeling, this place looks amazing!
Fun flavor names/combos. Lots to choose from. Not expensive.
First time ever going to this place
Good job Chandler
Going out of business. I use the DiveShop that was located on the premises. ScubaBros
Interesting place. Lots of room for bball tourneys and other fitness activities.
I have been a member for a long time, the people running the Lighthouse are so helpful and always are there to help the members. The nice thing is they do not hassle you about joining, updating, or any of the membership issues. It is a straight forward approach that makes me feel so comfortable. They are also offering some good membership deals at this time. I am completely satisfied with the Lighthouse and would recommend the facility. Lisa is my instructor and she is awesome, never had a better workout. I wait for her to teach. Judy puts on an awesome yoga class as well. They are now becoming very involved in helping the triathlon community as well, and Triokc. Thanks for all you do. Also theyhave a great lap pool and warm water therapy pool.See you soon.
This place is AMAZING!!! I just moved here from Boston and looked at several gyms in the city and non can compare to it, the staff was so friendly specially their Director, Ramon Renteria who gave me a tour, You should ask for him when you visit this place if you havent yet!, he is very attentive and to the point, no BS! all the equipment and this place is huge for the monthly rate I am paying. Thank You for all your help!
Didnt kniw tgat this place even existed...several sporting venues..great for fun and exercise.
The time spent here is always very fruitful & enjoyable. The training classes I attend, Pilates and spin classes ate tremendously productive and the trainers are wonderful. The lighthouse is a significant part of my life and has brought amazing changes in my condition.
The reason they have a positive review cause they asked people to give them a positive review for a gift which is against google guidelines. If you worked here or been here for over a year you know that stuff stay broken, the pool remains dirt, and that equipment breaks several times a year. The staff plays a game where they pass along important files so it takes awhile to do business with them. Find a different place
I mean, if youre looking for a gym to (workout at), its pretty good. Other wise, the basketball gym is hardly spacious, and the pools are the same but very crowded. Overall I trust this gym, and rate 4/5.
Ive only played sand volleyball here, and have had a blast. The courts are well maintained, but the referees were either untrained or didnt show. Which was disappointing since we pay to play...
I maintain a few memberships at various gyms around the metro such as the YMCA, Devon Boathouse, anytime fitness and the lighthouse. All of these gyms provide services or operating times that suite our needs. When I found out about Lighthouse, I was really excited by the fact that it was so close to where we live. This place deserves 2 stars only for the fact that the gym is super close and some of the staff are really friendly and do try to help, despite the fact that they seem helpless to do so at times. The size of the gym is good, the locker rooms and amenities within them are also good. Now for the many reasons this gym falls flat. The equipment is in various stages of disrepair. Some equipment has had signs on it for over 30 days explaining that it is broken. The weight benches are old and not in the best shape. Some of the dumbbells are missing the weight information, so you don’t know if you’re picking up 30 pounds or 40 pounds sometimes. The two cable machines are not in great working order. One of them has so much slack in the cable that doing triceps press downs or anything in that range is impossible unless you are really short. One of the D-rings that clip the various attachments to the cable just dangles open, creating a sharp and dangerous hazard for anyone working out. The other cable machine has only 2 D-rings available out of the 4 possible workout positions. If you want to work out on one side, you have to borrow the d-ring from the other side. We’re talking d-rings here, an item that cost a few dollars to replace and can be fixed in literally 3 seconds. Much of the equipment has not been oiled or lubricated in god only knows how long. Then we move to the general order and organization in at the gym. The bootcamp classes constantly take many of the free weights form the free weight area, the NEVER place them back. When bootcamp classes are over, there is a grave yard of 45s, 35s and other weighted plates thrown about on the floor. The staff at the gym either can’t keep up with the clean up or don’t care. This has created an environment where no one re-racks their weights. Stuff is just left all over the place. Take a look at the attached picture. The audio system in the place is awful, when it is on its scratchy and crackles, often irritating the members where they just go to the front and ask for the sound to be turned off. It’s really sad, this gym has the potential to be a really awesome place to work out, but things don’t get fixed and there is no apparent interest from the boot camp coaches or gym management to clean anything up. Again, I go here because its close and I don’t require the best equipment to lift weights, but I often walk around and shake my head at how badly this place is managed. I’ve tried to speak to the staff with no apparent results, maybe posting some reviews will help move this place in a better direction.
Lighthouse sport fitness and health always goes above and beyond to make sure it members and guest have the best experience possible. From the top notch staff to the awesome equipment and boot camps the lighthouse always exceeds expectations. So where is the 6th star?
I pay for a health club membership through my insurance that gives me access to various gyms throughout the metro. They have all been knowledgeable and accommodating in getting me in their system and welcoming me to their gym. EXCEPT The Lighthouse. I have tried to speak with the staff in person AND called and no one will help me! I technically already pay to work out at this gym but I cant access the facility! The staff is very uninformed and apathetic and management apparently is never present so Its been a wild goose chase trying to speak to someone who has any clue what theyre doing. I am repeatedly told come back at this time or call next week as if THEIR schedule is more important than mine. I am not usually a fussy customer as I have worked many years in customer service and understand it can be frustrating, but the employees have thus far been unknowledgeable and unwilling to help me at all. I understand I have a third party membership, but if this gym partnered with another company, they should honor their commitment and inform the staff. I havent even worked out at The Lighthouse and I am already dissatisfied.
Best and one of the biggest gyms in town. Offers basketball, volleyball, three pools and a lot of great classes in addition to all the iron and cardio. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
We have been playing sand volleyball here for two years now. They have six sand courts. We have always had a great time here. This is really a special place in the middle of Oklahoma City.
Its been a few years since I was there, but we quit for a few reasons: 1. Someone broke into all the lockers in the mens locker room, and the the cameras outside had been turned off. Other members said it had happened before. NEVER TAKE YOUR WALLET IN THERE! 2. The womens showers werent being serviced as often as needed. 3. The warm pool was not consistently warm. Hopefully ALL of these issues have now been resolved. But ASK.
The sand volleyball courts are decent but the building and bathrooms look like they were installed in the 80s and never cleaned since then.
Too bad theres nothing below a 1 star! Fees raised $50/mo without written/email/text communication. Ridiculous. Youd think with all the competition they could run their business better...how much are people paying that dont even realize it.
I came in and went to the front counter to ask for some info. Two young gym rat girls were chatting behind the counter and never looked up or said a word to me. I politely stood there a moment and finally butted in and asked about the info I wanted. They acted like they were put out because they couldnt keep chatting. I left and never returned. Thats 4 memberships they didnt get.
Nice establishment for the large basketball tournaments, can get confusing with all the whistles. I will be glad when the bathrooms are complete going outside is a pain when its raining.
The people are friendly, knowledgeable on fitness and some members are willing to help or answer questions if you have any.
This place is filthy and disgusting, you can see they never clean the bathrooms and also some other areas have dead bugs and trash from a long time ago. The pool area is old and dirty they never improve that area and any other one. The new manager Wanda is the rudest person I have ever known, also the monthly charge is about $40 comparing places like YMCA which is $38 with so many locations, nicer people and cooler and way cleaner buildings. My recommendation is Dont waste your time there!
Ive called a few times on different days to get a quote so I can sign up. Left a message and no one ever answers or calls back! CuriCurious on how customer service is there since they dont care to call someone whos interested, back!
A full feature gym with everything you could want unless you want more than one Texas squat bar, but at least they have one!
I needed a place for my teenage kids to go to. I met with Steve Clausen at lighthouse fitness center and was going to join,BUT, I always check people out who are going to be around my kids, I looked at Oklahoma supreme court network typed in Steve Clausen and found he had been charged and pleaded guilty for selling drugs in a public facility. Not going to send my kids to be around that crap! He had to leave his last Gym and now has landed here at lighthouse packed full of teenagers.
Great staff, my son and daughter do Kung Fu here and love it!!
24 hours? Check. Has a pool? Check.Lots more equipment than they had last year, and the membership is very reasonable.
I love the warm pool in the sauna the jacuzzi great workout place at affordable price
I want there for my grandsons basketball game. Its a great venue and program for that.
This is the best gym in OKC. The staff is awesome. Ramon is the best! Everybody should work out here.
Actually not Lighthouse Sports, Fitness and Health any longer. The Weight Room 24 took this facility over in January of 2017 and it is the BEST and largest fitness facility in the metro with 2 indoor pools, whirlpool, sauna and dry sauna as well as over 400 pieces of equipment
Its not the lighthouse anymore its the weight room! The weight room bought the old light house. I like the weight room . Alot more weights and it is open 24 hours ×7 . You use a key card to get in and I like it bc of all the weights and I like going at 2am bc Im the only one in there and I can circuit train without someone interrupting me.
I really enjoy everything the lighthouse has to offer - there is truly something for people of all ages. The friendly staff also makes the experience even more enjoyable.
The outdoor volleyball is a lot of fun.
I have only ever used the swimming pool here, but it is always very poorly lit which makes it hard to enjoy.
The renovations are awesome came, came back after 3 years and I love it! Highly recommend new management!
Was there for a basketball tournament. The gym has 4 courts and nice floors.
I want to share my experiences with this awful gym this evening. My daughter goes there as part of an independent dance group. They recently installed a spin class and the bass was so loud it was shaking the walls and making me nauseated. I simply went to the window and asked the director to turn the music down. She stopped her class and came out and confronted me for the first time. She told me they wouldnt turn it down and to get away. After her class ended, she came to confront me again during our class, with 2 and 3 year olds in the room. I attempted twice to end the confrontation and she continued to harass me. At that time I informed her that I would Blast them on facebook, and she threatened me with that wont end well for you. Well, we shall see about that. The other manager was also not apologetic. He said he was sorry for the music but that they wouldnt turn it down. I had planned on enrolling my children in swim lessons and even joining the gym myself, but I will never step foot in there again. I hope you all take a minute to meet the studio director and realize what a toxic place this is.
Nostalgia... I miss coming here! Always a pleasure to see all my old basketball friends 🏀
If you are a swimmer, theres not a better place to swim laps in OKC. Temperature is cold, pool is huge, 12 lanes, yes 12. They do have swim club kids there a lot but there is always 3 lanes available for lap swimming. The gym also has everything you need.
This review pertains to the OKC Lighthouse Basketball Leagues- NOT the workout facility:Summarizing my experience with the Lighthouses completely unprofessional and backwards treatment of customers in one word: baffling.- allowing the same individuals who play on the same teams to consistently threaten to physically and verbally assault you during the game and after, AS WELL as the officials claiming they will physically and verbally assault you in the parking lot, too: baffling.- lack of organization and communication causing multiple rentals of mine to be cancelled last minute, putting us in the wrong league (or against teams in the opposite league), forgetting to call customers to let them know when their game times are, or that the facility is closed: baffling.- lack of professionalism and accountability when confronted about the above mentioned problems as well as more, whether it be ignoring voicemails, or having front desk workers claim the managers are unavailable: baffling.(side note: nothing wrong with the lower management people and day and night workers, they just do what theyre told and are pleasant, its the head manager Tish thats the problem, and possibly whoever is above her)- the fact that its taken me fourteen years of youth and now adult leagues to realize how awful the organization is as a whole: baffling. My advice would be to take your money elsewhere if youre looking for somewhere to play good, competitive, basketball.P.S. Google should include a negative star option when rating facilities.
Basketball gym is nice! Nice volleyball sand courts
I love coming here all the time. The employees are nice.
I really enjoy the spin classs. Great workout and really good service.
5 stars, the improvements have been wonderful. The staff is friendly, the facility is a great venue.
Great gym. 24 hour access, tons of equipment, good management.
Really cool outside volleyball courts
Great aquatic facility and instruction.
Great management. Friendly people at the front desk. Great place to workout at.
I use this pool for my aquatic physical therapy through Oklahoma Physical Therapy. The therapy I receive is A+++, however, trying to focus with children in the area is difficult.
My son plays basketball there. They need to turn the air conditioning on in the summer.
Love it! While I work out, my kids are in the nursery and they love it as well.
Member for over 2 yrs, but has gone down hill very fast over the past several months. Have cancelled all but one spin class, bikes are in very poor repair and management had been told this for well over a year, womens shower was without hot water for over 6 wks, were without towels several days running and then had to ration them due to not being able to wash used towels, mismanaged warm water pool chemicals and caused several people to have burns with the instructor having to go to the hospital that evening, entire gym is not very clean and some of the equipment is in poor repair. There can be problems during hard times, but they have shown a lack of caring during these times. Had sent several E messages about the spin classes along with suggestions in their box, but they did not answer. Have since cancelled and joined the Y and feel like I have gone to heaven. Y is clean, lots of bikes in good repair, lots of towels. I would suggest anyone looking for a good gym to not considered the Lighthouse just go to the Y.
Dont waste your Time
Excellent pool facility which is not overcrowded, and the staff is very pleasant and easy to work with.
BEWARE OF PACIFIC BLUE SWIMMING LESSONS:This review is meant for the Pacific Blue Swim Lessons company (John, the owner) who conducts their swimming lessons at the Lighthouse. However since there is no where to leave a review for this company AND they gym never once offered any resolution or assistance in the matter, both receive negative reviews. This is the email I sent to him on August 5th after he said he would issue a refund to us on July 15th. Two months later he has blocked both my husbands and my numbers after saying he was going to send a refund check through the mail. This is a formal request for our refund of $XX.00 for group swimminglessons that were paid in the form of a money order July 6, 2015 toLighthouse OKC. As previously discussed with you, Pacific Blue swiminstructors and Lighthouse OKC management we were unable to continueswimming lessons with your company as my son who is 3 years old was unexpectedly takenunderwater by an instructor.Due to this occurrence, he lost trust with your instructors and hisconfidence in the water diminished. He became anxious and fearful uponarriving at the next class, crying and unwilling to change into hisswim clothes therefore unwilling to participate in the class. Theinstructor noticed and advised me that he would speak to you inregards to obtaining a refund. You advised me to try to get in thewater with him, although we had noticed a lack of confidence in thewater during family occasions and I was willing to try. The day beforethe next class, my son began running a 101 F temperature and was senthome from day care. His fever continued, as well as an upset stomachand other symptoms for the following two days. My husband notified youimmediately and you agreed to issue a refund on July 15, 2015.Today is August 5, 2015 and I am again requesting you fulfill yourword to issue us a refund in the amount of $78.00 via PayPal or inperson. We have patiently waited for your convenience to arrivalhowever as it is going on a month since your word was given we ask youdo so no later than Friday, August 7, 2015. Due to the time span, failed agreements and unsecured procedures, we do not wish to have therefund mailed unless it is through UPS and has a tracking number thatis emailed to us upon mailing.
24 hour access, great equipment selection, good management. What else could you ask for?
Great customer service from Jamie beals the lighthouse manager thanks
Horrible traffic congestion out and in of parking lot. SHOULD BE right turn only and NO left turns into parking from highway....ESPECIALLY in RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC! I lived right next door and there was a wreck EVERYDAY out front OR TWO. The would NOT honor my prior membership fees when I moved back and ripped me off $300 for two people, rude staff gross, bathrooms. pool over chlorinated. too expensive! Ghetto pool parties almost got the neighbors STABBED! NOT COOL!
Lighthouse property is up for auction June 11 at 900 N. Portland. Look it up at Oklahoma County Tax assessor web siet under their address. Back taxes have not been paid in 4 years. They have no License with the Oklahoma Dept. of Consumer Credit which implies they have no bond as required by the state of Oklahoma. If and I just say if they close June 10th. and skip town what will happen to my money for the membership I bought. I guess we will see June 12th.
Awesome staff! Love the group classes.
Enjoy the basketball games that I went to see!
Beach Volleyball to Basketball, plus an outdoor beach bar with tons of games like corn hole and giant soccer-pool. Its a must try!
