When we originally contacted Alex at Flooring America, we only needed an estimate for an insurance claim. He and the rest of the Flooring America team made it all simple, and they were so courteous and efficient that we immediately contracted with them to replace our entire basement floor. I am also so impressed by Bill, whose attention to detail when measuring and figuring layout is impressive! The installers have also been outstanding. Flooring America is simply the BEST!

$11,000 worth of flooring paid in full and I cant get store manager Tomas Almazan to respond to my emails for repair and replacement and the owner Scott Kemsley doesnt seem to care to intervene either. Install dates 7/8-7/21/2020 and here it is 9/10 already. Kitchen plank needs some sort of adjustment under 1 sales contract and carpet has a serious seam problem in the living room plus a hole in the carpet at the stairway and major carpet knife over cut at a register that requires replacement of this 12 feet section of this room and over cutting in various places throughout the house. The installer has been back twice, a little glue, a microwave, and took pictures. Update 11/15/2020 nearly four months after carpet installation of 7/20-21:Carpet studio hoped to blame Shaw the manufacturer of the carpet so Shaw hired an inspector to review the carpeting on 9/23. They found that the problem was in installation in that they didn’t seal the seams before laminating them with seam tape which didn’t stick to the carpet in some spots either. I didn’t get a copy of this report until 11/2. Tomas Almazan store manager called me on 10/27 and said they were going to replace the living room carpet tomorrow and were cutting the material on that day. When they arrived on the 28th they were empty handed and said they thought they could just redo the seam. They heated it up and removed the seam tape, re-cut the seam and heated it back up to new seam tape. The rest of the house had these same seam problems which they just tried a band-aid approach. Again they did this seam in the same way they had before even after getting the report that they must use seam sealer. Tomas called me the next day and wanted to know if I was happy with the work which was sub-standard even after getting the report that every seam in the house looked like it did because they didn’t seal the seams and was just trying to get away with poor workmanship. Again this repair was no better. He says he ordered new carpet for the whole house and gave me an install date of 11/17 & 18 then says the arrival date will be toward the end of the month and has left me in wonder if anything will transpire. This fiasco all started when I hired their designer Heather through Houzz and her business (Wallflower designs) on that site in June and also taking her recommendation for Gomez Granite of Holland to which has done shoddy workmanship to a nice piece of quartz for my kitchen remodel. This has left me with over $13,700.00 in inexcusable workmanship that all took place in July on the 10th and 20th,21st. When I asked Heather to come and look at the problems initiated by her recommendations she refused stating that she had confidence in her design choices. I’ve spent over $18,000.00 with Heather and have nothing to show for but proof of what a bad decision I’ve made and plenty of posted pictures. She should have told the shop from Holland that if I am going to recommend you to my clients/neighbors, you’d better give them the quality they pay for and should be telling her bosses at Carpet Studio as well. I’ve had so many people in my house, some masked, some not and I don’t know if their waiting to see if I’ll get sick and die so they don’t spend anymore of their profit but I know they are advertising plenty to get new victims hoping that their inability to follow installation standards on my investment goes away. WHICH IT WILL NOT. So in conclusion, there was an independent inspection stating they installed incorrectly and they tried to get me to give up and accept their craftsmanship and in-ability to follow installation standards. That’s the family atmosphere you’ve been reading about at Carpet Studio. When you do a whole house you have to move everything out and if that’s frustrating you, wait till you have to experience it again months later because of Carpet Studio- Flooring America. A special thank you to Heather. Update 2/4/21 I just found out Heather told Houzz that she refunded her fees so they would take down her bad review there. She is dishonest and untrustworthy

Flooring America in Okemos is a fantastic organization= Quality + Value + Customer Service! We had them install Luxury Vinyl flooring and Five Star carpet for our home. The results are AMAZING....they have high quality people- Alex in sales demonstrated integrity and professionalism, he is very knowledgeable! Kenton, installer is a true craftsmen with attention to detail and exceptional skills and experience. Scott the owner treated us like family, this local business is truly a gem.

Purchased Galvanite flooring great competitive prices. I have Labs and not one mark on our floor. Its waterproof too. Prices were lower than any box store. Delivered to my home with all the instructions. Great prices great service and honest people. I will defiantly purchase more flooring in the future.

Worked with Jon and Heather on carpet and vinyl flooring sélections. Jon was couteous and kind. Heather was helpful and very talented in her design ideas. Loved her selections. Price is costly for désigner carpet so I wanted to know it would be perfect for my home. The time she spent with me was truly helpful. She offered referrals to other contractors as well. I gave 4 star as it took à long time to install the flooring and carpet. I felt I had to keep calling to get on schedule. I was offered à free rémanent to go in the bathroom but it was not à perfect fit and then it had to be returned. I was quoted à price for the slightly bigger piece, but I thought it would be free too given the amount I paid in the other flooring and the previous rémanent was free. The whole thing felt pretty odd. I would go back if need be in the future and certainly work with Heather for that initial consultation. I have really enjoyed my new flooring and received many compliments.

The staff here are extremely knowledgeable and helpful, both with product and install. Every time I called my questions were answered quickly. I’m very happy and will definitely be back for our next flooring needs.

The installers were very professional, friendly and quick. They cleaned up their mess and even vacuumed the carpet. I would highly recommend them to anyone and if we need to replace any flooring we will return to them.

We have had of all of our flooring needs completed by Flooring America in Okemos, and they are so knowledgeable and helpful! We made the mistake of getting a quote from a big box place, and they were rigid, impersonal and it was difficult to get in touch with anyone. Flooring America has always done the job right, and even found matching tile for us that was 20 years old so we could match up our laundry room and kitchen!!! We always recommend them to anyone who is looking to their flooring needs!

We have worked with Flooring American Carpet Studio for at least 13 years, most recently with Alex and Jon. In the last 2 years we had a major home remodel and we used Flooring America for all the new flooring throughout the house. We recently carpeted the stairs from our first floor to the basement. There was a tiny glitch in communication but it was resolved immediately, within 24 hours. What service!

We went to Flooring America in Okemos to buy carpet tiles for our basement. Alex and Scott took time to find us the right product, and gave us a great deal on it! They were very personable, friendly and not pushy. They were very informative and helped us out with tips and tricks that will make our project much easier. I would definitely recommend them to a friend, and we are looking to go back for a future flooring project.

Flooring America helped us with all of the flooring in our newly constructed home over a year ago. I just came across the card asking for us to give a review and I honestly felt bad for not doing so sooner. The service we received was phenomenal from the sales staff to the installers. We got hardwood floors, carpet, tile and vinyl floors from them, and we dont have a single complaint about any of them. Ben and Erin in the showroom took so much time helping us pick out exactly what we wanted for our home( and that takes patience - my husband and I are super picky - this is our dream home after all). And it all ties together absolutely beautifully. They even sent the hardwood floor installer (I believe his name is Tyler) back out to repair damage that was caused by one of the contractors, not by Flooring America staff. I cannot say enough good things about the sales staff, the installers, the quality, the price, the service.... you name it, we were pleased with it!

I was in a time crunch and needed new carpet fast before I moved into my house. I got drawn into purchasing carpet from a big box store based on the cheaper cost, larger selection, and free installation special. Come to find out, this big box store could not uphold their own guarantee--leaving me with 4 days to get carpet installed. I worked with Alex Hall who provided fantastic customer service from start to finish. Carpet Studio came to the rescue and was able to get carpet installed immediately--such outstanding customer service and Im thrilled with the carpet I chose!

Flooring America of Lansing had done the original carpet in our family room. After a number of dogs and cats a replacement was in order. The sales staff was excellent and very attentive to our needs and time schedule. The Installation crew was on time and very efficient in laying the carpeting. Horrid experience with this place. Ben (in store) was great and worked hard to get us a great deal on what we wanted. Then the day of installation, it all went south. Installers were late, rude, made a huge mess tearing out old carpet and then laid my NEW carpet on the street in dirt, right next to sewer drain, to measure and cut to put on my stairs. When I said something, installer got an attitude and was nasty to me. I went to call the store, and they literally packed up and left. Left me with no carpet and a bunch of exposed carpet tack strips that were a safety issue. They then lied and said they didnt put new carpet in the dirt and that my old carpet was urine soaked (from my dog who had been dead two years!!). I ended up getting all my money back but had inconvenience of exposed tacks and no carpet until I could get someone else. The owner and general manager were nasty, made a bunch of excuses for installers horrible, unprofessional behavior, and never once apologized. I would NEVER use this company again. I realize I was not their biggest sale that week, but it says A LOT about a company on how they treat the average customer. Go spend your money elsewhere, trust me youll be sorry if you go here!!
