Dont wast your time and money the diagnosis/assessment is a joke not even a real assessment the price they want for what the do is a rip off of course when people pay that much money any little improvement they will say is from the program but in reality they are just so desperate to say the BIG MONEY they spent was worth it
My little girl was diagnosed with Dyslexia. When I spoke with Learning Technics trying to learn what our options would be, I was told that Dyslexia is not a real thing. It was just made up. They assured me that going through there program they could help my daughter, as recall, retrain her brain to get her vision working better so she could learn to read. We paid for the program, which was expensive, and started in on it. Initially it went well. It seemed like there was immediate improvement. She was still pretty young, and she reached a point where it was hard to get her to do the exercises and so forth they would give her each week. We would do it anyway. As we reached the end of the program I talked with them and told them I was concerned she wasnt making the progress she needed. He agreed, so we continued a little past what was paid for, but then they essentially dropped us. Im pretty sure it was because we didnt have the funds right then to continue. They didnt even talk to us about coming up with a payment plan or something so we could continue. Now my girl is in high school and still struggling. I recently found a vision therapist who tested her and is working with her. I hope this goes better. I know Learning Technics has worked for others, and Im grateful for that. It didnt work for us.
The people were all very friendly. I would rate this actually a 0 but it didnt allow me to. The reason I am scoring this so low is because I was lied to over the phone. I was told that they would diagnose my sons for learning disabilities. I was told this by John Heath. That was not true at all. He went into detail about how they test for Dysgraphia, Dyslexia, etc. I asked SPECIFICALLY ! The Neuropsychologist said to me that she wished he would stop telling people that. If you are looking for a diagnosis, do NOT go here! Im pretty upset about paying $150 for something that was not what I was told I was getting. I wish I had known before I wasted 4 hours and $150. If it sounds too good to be true, it is. Now I have to back and find a Neuropsychologist that will diagnose my sons. This was a waste of money because it was not what I was told I was getting. I didnt find any of this out until going through the results. Im pretty annoyed to say the least.
Learning Technics is a Nuero-Therapy program for children who have learning disabilities. It is a program where you meet with a mentor who trains you in a variety of activities that will help the right and left brain hemispheres to process and retrieve information using the whole brain. It is usually a 26 week coarse. My son found great success! His reading, writing, spelling and math scores all improved. Before we started the therapy my son had little brain stamina and it often felt like the gears in his brain were grinding and his processing skills were very slow. He suffers from dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia. After the training his cognitive skills of processing, focusing, and recall skills increased as well as his ability to do very complex task, both physically and mentally. The mentors are excellent. Some of them have 25 years experience and do an amazing job helping the student break through barriers they have created in learning. The greatest joy has been watching my sons self-confidence soar!!!
