They where great for getting copies of todays paper. From the customer service number that I called to the front desk. I also bought some paper ends for my daughter to do crafts with.

Use to be a great paper but even the online version isnt that great anymore. I have a print subscription and a bin on my property for my newspaper but the carrier just throws it in the gutter or my driveway where it gets soaked and in the winter gets buried by snow. Sometimes I end up running it over with my vehicle since it is in my driveway. Im probably not going to renew my subscription since half the time my print paper is soggy, damaged, or buried in snow. It doesnt seem to be asking much to have my newspaper placed in the protective newspaper bin instead of my driveway or gutter.

Update: They dumped their in house delivery and use the post office now. I gave them another shot, and my papers never miss now!Good journalism, but save yourself the money. Do not purchase a print subscription as you have to beg and plead for delivery. I paid for a subscription and didnt receive my paper. Emailed the print administrator and got it Once. Tried calling and got an automated system with no option to reach a live person. System said a replacement would be delivered. It never was.If you really want to support them, do the online subscription. Maybe its time for this newspaper circulation to end and focus on digital efforts.

DO NOT BECOME A CARRIER FOR THEM! They charge you for insurance, yes cheap but they will never help you with any expenses car related. They try to take advantage of new people, my son worked for them and they suck you into a bs contract and you must give a 30 day notice to quit or guess what? They’ll charge you !!!! Not a job for teams or even any adult who NEEDS to make money. If you just want money then apply as a carrier. If you need to pay for things follow my advice and look elsewhere! Wish this thing has a ZERO STAR. Rating!

Our carrier does a phenomenal job. Paper is always on the porch although Ive never asked for porch delivery. I subscribe to The Standard because I like to stay informed about news that is relevant to my city.

Horrible place to work. I worked there for about a month and it was the worst decision of my life. I am a hardworking individual and just wanted some extra cash, so I took this job. Well three days after I was hired, my supervisor changed..and I wasnt notified. I continued to try to contact my previous supervisor with problems and questions and didnt learn for a week that she wasnt even working there anymore. But all the problems I tried to get resolved got counted against me, which wasnt even my fault!Secondly, I was told the papers would be ready to pick up at 2 am every morning. So me and my partner would show up.. and there were tons of times the paper wasnt even ready. We would sit there till 4 or 5 am waiting for them! Then we would be late delivering and get complaints that counted against us financially! It was ridiculous!When I tried to put in my quitting notice the head supervisor contacted me and begged me to stay and promised everything would be fixed. Well it wasnt, and he ignored my calls after this unless it affected him personally.Third, I literally had to fight for my paychecks. There was only once that they were on time and there was no times that they were for the proper amount. I kept track of how many papers we delivered and our totals never matched up. I would call and complain and would get told that I have to call my supervisor. But my supervisor would ignore my calls. It was so annoying and fustrating. Also I got docked money off my paychecks for complaints that should not have been used against me. I dont know how I could have received so many complaints that docked $40 off of one of my checks and they wouldnt tell me what the complaints even were.So all in all, I left the standard, and I will never look back.

Im really getting Fed Up. We have been getting the paper for 10 yrs here. Once upon a time we had a Great delivery person. But the last 3 years have been a Nightmare. Papers Constantly in the gutter literally Last winter we thought we wasnt getting them half the time just to see once the snow melted off it was thrown in the snow. Ive made Several requests to have the paper put on the porch I even called every day for a month requested to talk to managers with no call back I was told over and over again they would report it and when I called back No Notes No Requests in the system or that the delivery person is a private/indapendant agent so they can only make suggestions to them but they couldnt force them to do anything... here it is winter and I have to go to the Gutter to look for my paper. This is a Huge Joke! Im So Fed Up!

I have called and asked, begged, and now complained to have them STOP throwing these newspapers once a week at my house. Please respect my wishes and stop it. I will start saving them all up and just drop them off at your offices. See how much you like picking up papers.

Huge Yellow Flag when 95% of the 5 STAR reviews have no comments. I am giving them a 1 star. The first reason, auto dialing me every week and not giving me an option to opt out of your auto dial. The second reason, when I finally call the office and find out I have an account with them with an amount owing. So, for over a month I get a call every few days not explaining that I have an account or a balance… and I only hear a recording with just a plea for me to subscribe.I admit I signed up for the 3-month subscription with no commitment to get a free hat Christmas eve in the Mall. i received 3 or 4 newspapers delivered in January and that was it. I did not mind, I truthful only signed up to get a hat. Then phone call after phone call; what a racket to keep harassing me until I call you back and you tell I owe money. That business model was over 3 decades old and has never won customer loyalty. Are you really that desperate to stay alive? Desperate enough to trick us into a subscription? I guess just as desperate enough to get the cool Pokémon hat for my son, but Im just glad that I dont try to provide for my family, or my employees families by trickery and deceit.Come on Standard Examiner… get out of the gutters, step up to the plate and start swinging for the fence. What value do you bring to the market? Define it, craft it, and then present or communicate it in a way that will attract us to your offerings. “That is all I have to say about that”

Billing department has some issues like not knowing how to do their job or how to find information. I tried to send a complaint via their website under the contact us option. It wont send no matter how I try. Apparently their website is as good as their service.

I paid 3 months in advance and only a week in have received one very carelessly put together paper. That was a few days ago. Not at all happy to be wasting my money on this, and when I try to call and file a complaint the line is always busy. Dont waste your time, its not worth it.

Apparently they hate to give refunds. I called the Ogden Standard-Examiner on 01/17/18 to cancel my fathers newspaper service & was told that a $21.56 refund would be issued.I called again almost two weeks later on 01/29/18 because I hadnt received my refund, and was told that the service had NOT been canceled as I requested and that I would only receive a refund of $11 and that the refund would take 3 weeks.So here it is a month and a half later and I still havent received any refund, in addition to the fact that the refund SHOULD be for $21.56 since its not my fault they didnt cancel the service as I previously requested.Ive lodged complaints with BBB and other online consumer complaint sites.

I have been trying for a year to get the subscription team here to stop calling me. I even sent an email to their customer service department in April telling them that I do not want to be contacted, but I have received 5 calls in the last 3 business days. They just keep calling until I answer the phone and tell them to stop. Then, a month later, they start calling me again.

Terrible customer service, no matter what number you call and press an extension or an option on their automated phone service it says that that extension is not valid. It is an endless loop with no live person ever answering.

The delivery person is incompetent. Drops the paper right at the sidewalk and doesnt even make an effort to get it on the porch. I have called customer service NUMEROUS times to no avail. So sad. Delivery service used to be stellar for years but this person they hired the last month or so is AWFUL. Its my Dads subscription. Im going to try to talk him into cancelling it if the delivery service doesnt improve PDQ.

Im complaining about the poor service over the last 6 months. Our paper gets thrown at the driveway near the sidewalk. The paper never comes some days and when you call customer service about a missed paper it arrives on the next date. Today was the last straw for me. No paper and my wife stayed on the line waiting nearly a half hour for customer service. After being a customer for several years I intend on cancelling the paper .

Didn’t get any papers asked to cancel then got my only paper. Canceled then a month after they are still charging me and won’t give me a refund. Keep giving me a goose chase to get my money back. Horrible experience with them.
