Private Auto Auction. Not open to the public for buying or selling. If you are a dealership or a wholesale company, thats a different story. They have all kinds of cars here that they sell. .. just depends on what others are trying to sell. They have commercial accounts to dealership accounts. If youre a dealership looking for inventory to buy or sell, this is the place for you. The staff here will help you out with all your needs.

I stopped buying cars from here . Way to over priced why go into a bidding war with hater who then out of spit unplugs certain wires or steals knobs or keys or burns the clutch ...Buy used cars of craigslist for better price and less headache. Car needs to go below retail price by a few thousand so we as dealers can pay for professional turn up maintence and detail it for next buyer on top of advertisement and having car sit on lot .You buy a 3000 dollar Honda hear for 2500 no profit margins .. way to overcrowded . Good popcorn and donuts on sale day but then again you pay 200 -500+ for every car bought depends on price .

While each of us can of course only speak from our own experiences at each of the large Dealer Auctions, I will say this from my perspective…the staff at Manheim San Diego (Oceanside) is top notch. All the way through the chain of command from the GM to Dealer Services to Arbitration to the Gate Staff, it is and has always been very clear to me that at this location, the expected Company culture of providing excellent customer service is the priority. This location clearly operates in a way in which it is on full display to both Buyer and Seller that it is not the cars that are the assets…it is the people…both the staff and the Dealers. My experience there has been nothing but positive as they run their facility creating the medium that brings Buyer and Seller together. Their willingness to work with both parties when issues arise is unlike any other place I have ever purchased a vehicle. They are fair, consistent and effective at promoting and maintaining the integrity of their marketplace. Kris in Dealer Services and her staff are professionals at what they do which is a clear indication that the leadership, direction and goals of the location as provided by Denis at the GM level are executable and attainable. Solid operational excellence, or lack there of, at any company, starts at the top and is the lifeblood of the success or is the main contributor to the failure of even the greatest of organizations. Manheim San Diego has that dialed in further than any of the other Dealer Auctions that I have been to. Five Stars.

If you don’t have the title make sure at least to follow up on it. I am from Ohio and I don’t recommend this place for business.no title for 3 weeks and they won’t call the seller. Also they force you to pickup the car... defiantly not buying cars here any more...

Spoke with Dennis (GM) after my experience. (1) Beautiful location (2) grid layout is a disaster! Why even have a grid map if a customer cant read it? (3) All Manheim and Adesa auctions that Ive been to (including Manheim, PA) have lot sections and individual spaces for each unit. Why doesnt Oceanside, CA? (4) Lots of training issues with lot personnel.

Very shady place, bought a car with PSI, check engine light pop up next day, they say wont be responsible for it, I took the car to my tech, my tech say a sensor is missing thats why the check engine light, apparantly someone there(should be their tech) stole the sensor and they are not going to be responsible for it, and will not do anything about the theft. Very disappointed, this is the first time I bought here and I think Ill never buy from this location again.

Manheim staff is friendly, mechanic can be pain to deal with when your car needs a jump. The worst part of this particular auction is the the fact you can test drive the car, be cautious slimy persians and Mexicans unhook and detach engine wires making car shake thud and have check engine light so they get car cheaper . I suggest come early like I do that way you know the car is good before any hands touch it . 15 cars I bought all had no check engine lights pre inspection and on test drive day all had multiple codes and engine knocking ... just be careful hopefully they can ban the dealers doing such things. Besides that auction sales every week usually Wednesday and Tuesday test drive day .

Manheim San Diego has great customer service, clean cars and smooth operations. Based out of all the other competing auctions you will find that this is the most well rounded. Their Field Sales team is easy to contact and always available to help with their online features, and inlane solutions. It is obvious they truely care about their customers and want to have a strong partnership.

So, in only approx the last 3 months, I have experienced the following LARGE problems/lack of attention to detail:A. I paid for a vehicle in cash, 16k. Received a paid in full receipt, and gate pass to remove the vehicle. Title was mailed to me a short time later, maybe about a week. Of course the gate pass would not have been issued, and the title would not have been mailed HAD THE VEHICLE NOT BEEN PAID IN FULL. Theres no way around that with Manheim. So approx 2.5-3 weeks after paying for the car, I received a call from that location, get this: asking when I was going to pay for that car!!!! Flabbergasted, I said I already had, had picked it up, and received title already - two things which would have NEVER happened if the car hadnt been paid for!! I was told theyd do some research and get back to me shortly. Irritating but I wasnt worried. A few hours later theyre calling back. I am told Sorry, we have NO record of your payment, and DO NOT BELIEVE this car has been paid for. Pay the original balance plus late fees immediately, or bring the car back to us! Its clearly an error that a gate pass was issued and title was mailed. WOW ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? So pay twice for the same car, or give it back and let them keep 16k? Get the F out of here!!! I found my paid cash receipt for that VIN, marched it into a location, and got that cleared right up - though I never received an apology or even an excuse as to what may have happened on their end with regard to the error/oversight. What a great (lousy!!!!) computer system they have.....B. One car I purchased, while I made sure to review the vehicle summary page - where it shows sale date, VIN, miles, the seller, CR score, link to Autocheck and Carfax reports, etc, then the SALVAGE-YES OR NO line, being clearly notated as *NO*, then after purchase receiving a Salvage Title instead of a Clear Title!!! Titles are non-negotiable in all 50 states, meaning if its sold as Clear it has to actually and truly be clear. So after THAT phone call & subsequent research, found out the vehicle had a notation as salvage/prior theft recovery in the Separate-window-opening Seller Comments button/section at the very bottom of vehicle summary page (which nobody clicks on).... Yet I was flatly told I should have clicked on & read those comments too -- doesnt matter one bit that the MAIN summary page showed SALVAGE-NO, so its *MY* problem now. BTW: the car brought clean title money. Thats a nice little trick to offload a salvage vehicle for clean title money, right?!C. Bid on a vehicle online, on Simulcast. My bid was accepted, I was the high bidder, and couldnt bid anymore (against myself!). At least 5 full seconds passed. Right before the auction ended, the bid actually ROLLED BACK, to the company I was bidding against, and THEY won the auction -- for a lesser amount than my accepted/recorded bid!! No explanation could be offered when I raised hell to managers, GMs, and corporate. Needless to say I didnt get the car. Wow!D. Attempted to sell a vehicle. Got the lane and run number. Watching the auction as I was out of town, my car miraculously DOESNT EVEN RUN!! Wow!Im furious. And Im not going to run it 40 cars afterward, as most buyers waiting for it would have already moved on, thinking it wasnt running. Missed that opportunity! Dealers bring cars to Manheim to RUN AND SELL -- correct??? How does that occur if those cars dont EVEN RUN?? Completely ridiculous!! The explanation? We had a big problem with that this week. Lots of cars were in different lanes for some reason, and never ran. Your car that should have been in Lane 2? Yeah it was in Lane 8 - not sure why and sorry! Lets try again next week... Lol.Its laughable, truly!!!

Terrible experience, drop car off on a Friday they say theyll look into it and get back by Monday afternoon, Tuesday morning. Took them 4 weeks to even look at the car, couldnt figure out the problem that they tried to fix 2 months prior charging me 700, they gave up immediately and sent it to BMW. Didnt tell BMW that it was dropped off until a week later and they lost the only pair of keys I have for the car, they ordered the cheapest temporary pair as a replacement (plastic one with no lock buttons or anything). I noticed missing things from my car as well. Lisa was in charge for us from Mannheim and is very very slow at responding and communication. Probably the worst experience Ive had with a company ever. I do not recommend. There are more problems that occurred but I dont feel like talking about them

Great experience dont be fooled by these two cry babies that left a comment before me this is a real Dealer Auction. And like most things you buy research them before you do people think cars will somehow fix themselfves but like all used things they are previously owned and you need to take the time to not only write reviews but to go check out the inventory before auction they even have a track were u can step on the gas and check out the tranny and engine at your discretion ofcourse got a range rover sport way under mmr great buy making real money here.

Dont take your car here or to any Manheim location, I would leave zero stars if it let me. You will have your registration sticker stolen, key lost, damage to your vehicle and your time wasted. Theres always some problem with the car or damage to it after consigning. My lastest experience I had taken in a 2008 Mercedes, just had it smogged the day before and inspected, no issues passed smog fine. I dropped it off in excellent condition and guaranteed the car. I then get a call the next day after the car had run through the sale saying its now in arbitration and the check engine light was on. What that means is someone messed with the engine, pulled wires out, took off parts to get the light to come on in hopes of getting a discount on the car. I was told it now needed $1300 worth of repairs. This happens daily at these auctions as experienced by anyone who goes there. To make the situation worse when I arrived to take back the car after traveling 75 miles and a $50 Uber ride the key is missing and Im told it must be in the mechanics office however security cannot get it for some reason. I had called before hand to verify the gate pass was at the gate and that I would be able to get the car because I know theres always a problem. After waiting for an hour in hopes of getting service I finally had to call another Uber for $50 and travel another hour home. I wasted 4 hours in the middle of my Saturday, $100 and on top of all this Ill have to come back up again whenever I have time to get the car! Just another day in the life of a Manheim customer. Sell it on the street, give it to father joe, do anything else.
