Lousy response from staff when the unit had a “fishy” smell. It was not a cleaning issue. It could have been an issue with mold in the air conditioner or an electrical problem. There was a terrible homeowner who rented to us and cared not a bit about the issue. Berger realty stopped returning my request for help.

Our rental home had an electrical fire while we were at the beach for the day (with 2 children and an elderly mother in law). I called Berger twice about flickering lights and unsafe extension cords overflowing with electronics, only to be shrugged off, and guess what? It actually set on fire. Glad we we were at the beach and not sleeping. We were displaced for a night and the owner of the property paid for us to placed in a hotel for the evening, and later moved to another property. We lost all of the food we purchased for the week, sheet rental costs, and valuable time. Our rental agent was unable to be reached for the entire day of chaos and Berger has no emergency contact number. We were told by Berger Realty that we would be reimbursed our food costs only to be treated like criminal mooches by Charlie Wigo (agent) when asked (repeatedly) to be compensated for our inconvenience (and possible death) he told us that all we bought were chips and lottery tickets (my kids were 2 and 4, we bought real food) and that the owner of the property thought she had done enough by putting us up in a crappy motel for a night. Terrible customer service. If you do book with them, make sure you get an emergency contact number.
