Very personable service. Not very COVID safe. Somewhat expensive for a basic haircut.

I just gave this place a shot today. Didn’t have a chance to get a haircut before vacation. I’m about to drive out here to get my haircut every time now. Place had a great look to it. All the guys were crazy friendly. Had some good laughs. I also had no appointment and just walked in. The guy was just about to eat for the first time all day, but skipped it and took me anyway. BEST haircut I’ve ever had! 100% check this place out! You won’t be disappointed! Thanks again Bernie’s staff!

Awesome decor and atmosphere and more importantly a great cut. Make sure you make an appointment though, they are busy! (But they found a way to squeeze me in later in the day and Im grateful for that)

There are barbers and then there are wanna be barbers. Sure anyone with experience can give a half decent haircut but I left there with an uneven beard trim and awkwardly cut top. Cut wasnt super clean like a real professional barber for 40.00. Expensive cut for 20 dollar haircut quality. Sure friendly environment and maybe I just didnt get the attention they would someone else because Im not a regular.

My son wanted to get a fade for the first time, and this place came up on a google search. Even though we had been by it a thousand times, I hadnt realized it was right there on Asbury. Our appointment was with Marc the owner. The interior was very cute, and definitely had a manly quality barbershop feel, with beautiful vintage chairs, but paired with very attractive wood wall, decor, and music/entertainment. There were corrugated metal and wood barriers between the chairs, much more attractive than the nasty saran wrap or plexiglass you see in many places, but still providing a barrier. They were very professional, and clearly were comfortable with what they were doing. Everyone was very friendly. I would strongly recommend.

I was going to Bernies for a few years and stopped going just because of work and shaving my own head. Started taking my 3 year old son over for the first time today and let me tell you Marc was amazing and his staff as well. They put frozen on the TV for him and went to town. His hair came out amazing no lines, all blended and really worked with him. He has really thin hair and he asked me what I wanted, gave him a very vague answer and told him whatever you think. Would highly highly recommend Bernies to anyone young or old!!!

By far the best breads! Huge selection! We have been visiting ocnj for 18 years and everytime we stop here at least 3 times in our 1 week stay. Absolutely love it! Not only do they have bread, they have pre-made home style Italian specialties to take home. A must stop on anyones list . Guaranteed!!

A must-visit barber shop that combines an old school, down-to-earth feel with a modern touch that rivals any big city spot. As a guy who lives mostly in Baltimore but visits family in Ocean City, I try to fit in a haircut here when I do come up. The two times that I have come in, I have only had to wait about 10 minutes to get called, and once in the chair, the staff do a great job of cutting your hair. Their attention to detail is great, especially when using a straight razor to clean-up those harder to reach, yet essential places, such as behind the ears, lower neck, and the sides of your forehead.

Great shop. I always use Ashley and have for about 4 years. Its definitely pricier than your typical barber shop or Hair Cuttery but you get what you pay for. I get consistently great haircuts. Staff is friendly and new appointment reminder system is really convenient. Not much of a walk-in joint so be sure to make an appointment. The owner Mark is a great guy and always has a rediculously funny story or anecdote. I look forward to coming each month.

I arrived without an appointment.I was immediately taken care of in a wonderfully friendly atmosphere.I can honestly say that I received the best haircut and beard trim of my life. My stylist took the time to make sure he was doing what I wanted .true professional.I will be back.

Edited: gave this place a second chance. First ranked it 4 stars but now ranking it 5. They spend a little more time than Id personally like but their attention to detail shows why they take the time they take. Their haircuts are consistent and they listen to what you want (this might seem obvious but in my experience its not in all places).Id still prefer a little better clean off at the end but gotta get a shower anyway. Im very happy with my new cut and wanted my new rating to reflect that.

Marc and his barbers are absolutely stellar! Everyone there is friendly and very good at what they do. There used to be long lines in the past, a testament to how good they are, but now they require appointments so people arent waiting. Ive always been seen within minutes of my appointment. I recommend Marc and his crew 100%!

This is hands down the best barbershop in Cape May County. The quality of barbering, the prices, the recent renovations, and the constant flow of customers are all proof to this. I personally drive up to 30 minutes to get there. All of the barbers here are terrific at their trade, although I generally have Colton cut my hair each time I go in. He takes his time with every customer and provides great attention to detail. He also takes great pride into every cut. There is something to be said about that in any profession. Kudos to the owner Marc and his staff and keep up the great work and service!

Came for the first while on vacation in Sea Isle and had Roe as my barber. She was fantastic! Very thorough and precise and I was so relaxed the whole time. I have very sensitive skin and usually have negative reactions to barber products and razoring but Roe left me smooth and fresh and no redness or irritation. Will definitely be back!

We vacation down here every summer and our first stop is always Bernies for a cut for my husband and son. They are awesome stylists and I cant find someone at home in PA to give similar cuts. My son always comes out with a new style that he loves.

First visited couple months ago, great atmosphere and service, got a perfect haircut. When visited this time, they just ruined that impression. My neiphew got a nice haircut, but they totally ruined mine, was usually having the sides buzzed down while keeping all the length on top to cover the bald spot im having on the back of my had, barber buzzed my head all around opening that spot, so now it looks absolutely stupid. And i was growing hair for a year to mask it. Disappointed.

Was in this shop about a month back and was instantly put off when I walked in. The inside of the shop is smaller than I expected it to be, I felt cramped. I was waiting for a while and while I was waiting I overheard one of the stylist laughing about a guy that had just left because he didnt know what size he needed for a style.At this point I just left as I was also looking for a new style and wasnt sure what I wanted to go with yet. I felt very uncomfortable in this shop and I will not do business with any shop that gossips about their customers.
