I took our kitten to be spayed & was very pleased with their professionalism and organization. I understand that they are a no-kill shelter, and that puts them at the top of my, “extra effort good guys” list.Scout is now fully recovered, and I am grateful that organizations like HSOC offer such reasonably priced veterinarian services.

My girlfriend and I had begun looking around to Cape May County shelters looking for the perfect set of kittens. After having a solid back and forth email session with Jen, we set up a visit and while there met the three beautiful girls you see in this review. We immediately fell in love with the trio and as of writing this, it is day 3 of having them in house and its been nothing but an absolute treat. The staff of the humane society made the adoption process super easy and they were very thorough with us. The amount of food given to us and services they offer to adopted alumni amazed us. The HSOCNJ staff helped us form our family and we are so excited for the many years ahead with our babies. :D

First of all, this place is closed to the public right now without an appointment, and that’s how they got the second star, because they might be great inside. However there wasn’t a good way to tell it was closed without going, and even after arriving the signage on one of the buildings was unclear. The nearby areas smelled pretty bad, but it could’ve been garbage day so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. What I can’t give them the benefit of the doubt for was the swarm of seagulls beside their building scrambling into an old igloo doghouse. My first thought was,” oh no, there might be a dead dog in there.” I went to go investigate it, and the seagulls scattered, but I was yelled at by a women from inside. I said I was simply going to check they weren’t harassing something, and she said that they were closed and the doghouse was where they were feeding the seagulls. Her tone made it clear I was not invited here, so I left quickly as I could. Im pretty sure it is illegal to feed seagulls in ocean city.

I’ve been both a volunteer and client at the HSOC for 12 years and during this COVID epidemic everyone has done the utmost to accommodate clientsThe signs are very clear about appointments both on-site and onlineThe shelter must protect staff and clients alike since COVID otherwise we would be short of cleaning staff.We have to refrain from allowing anyone to enter our premises without protection for the safety of all.I feel the review was quite unwarranted.

Great people nice clean facility. I needed to neuter a kitten and this was the fourth time in 20 years that I was here. Always a pleasant experience.

Very disappointed in how a family member adopted a furkid & Tujunga didnt even give her detailed info on the furkid. Very sad about that...😒

Expert staff, knowledgable, caring and provided an in depth analysis of my new addition to my family. I HIGHLY recommend considering the Humane Society of Ocean City if you are looking for a great pet from an excellent team.

I’m sure you would understand if you have a furry family member the hopeless feeling at the pit of your stomach when they aren’t in a normal state and you don’t know what has happened. All you can do is frantically call all the veterinarians that could be available that day to help in any way without the expense of the ER. And I’m sure you also understand the shock that just shatters your hope in the medical industry when there’s absolutely no indication of sympathy in the voice of the one who answers one of your frantic calls, asking for any help at all, just to be told “we’re not taking new clients. Bye”.

Ocean City Humane Society is the best thing going. They are very caring, receptive and affordable.Make this your choice, to treat your animal, and prevent them from suffering. A+

EVERYONE at the Humane Society of Ocean City are the very best! They truly care, I wouldnt use another veterinary clinic ever!!

Because they say that I owe them $124 and my dog was very sick and she needed care she could not walk so they would not accept her.when I did have her there to have a tumor removed off her tub they said they would not remove the tumor unless they Spade her.So I did and they did the operation at 5:00 I picked her up at 7:30 and she was not doing well the next morning when I woke up she was in the living room hemorrhaging.So I took her back and they stayed with her overnight because it was too dangerous to bring her home.There is a lot more to it than that but that is enough to tell for right now.

My review is only from a visitor standpoint, as I have no idea if their vet services are good or anything else really about what they offer.However, as a visitor, this place is quite annoying. The visiting times on Google are all wrong. They are closed completely on Tuesdays - we went and were told we couldnt see the animals because they changed their times. This is fine, but I wish I knew this before I drove all the way out there.They only have a few dogs at a time, and when you go in, youre not allowed to pet them through their cages. Their reason was for personality training, however I think this is completely dumb as how are your dogs going to become friendly with people if no one is allowed to interact with them? You just stand and stare at these poor dogs behind cages and cant even pet them, especially the poor puppies that just want to be touched. Im sure if you came in with the intent to purchase theyd let you touch them. 🙄Their cat room is full of cats that you can pet and play with, which was fun.All in all, if youre a visitor just looking for something to do with hopes to pet some dogs, dont go here.However, if youre looking to purchase, Im sure youll be fine.

Took my 2 boy cats to be neutered, 45 minute drive, they accommodated us first so I didnt have to wait around all day! Very compassionate, honest, informative.. and the cost was very affordable!

I love this shelter. I love it so much I adopted my cat from here and continue to bring him and other cat I saved from outside here instead of the shelter thats 15 mins from home. Staff are wonderful the clinic there is awesome. I cant have enough to say about them love all of them and would direct anyone looking to adopt or find a vet in there direction in a blink!!

Dr. Peretti is Amazing! We have been bringing all our dogs here for years. And we now bring our Foster Dogs here to. They are so understanding. And accommodating.

The staff there are the best!! Dr. Moberg goes out of her way to give excellent service and genuinely cares about your animals. I’ve had animals for over 48 years and have never had a vet with her dedication. 🐾❤️

If you are looking for an empathetic and compassionate vet this is not the place to go.Tried to ask as many questions as possible regarding my pets care. The vet lacked patience to repeat herself and handed over records with no explanation and no eye contact.

I went here today - Im on vacation - and I wanted to have my pet seen at an affordable cost as he is suffering from some sort of sneezing fits. I read the wonderful reviews here and was under the impression it was a full service veterinary clinic. I was wrong. They do not serve as a vet, and will send you elsewhere. Please be advised. They are not a full service vet clinic and will not see your pet. They are very kind however, and will send you to other vet clinics.

Good staff but hard to get a appointment and the Dr doesnt call back and there always busy with there cat clinic if its a emergency look at other places. The wait is always over 45 minutes and then you get to see a Dr all of 5 minutes the only thing there prompt with is billing you

Awsome Shelter with a very caring staff. I volunteered at the shelter when I was a teenager. I have adopted several dogs over the years and continued to visit constantly. I think they Ocean City Humane Society is the best place for any animal sense its a no kill shelter and their staff cares about placing the animals in loving homes with loving people.

Both of our cats came from there and they are absolutely wonderful ! A beautiful Tabby with a personality to match ! and a crazy black and white female. They both love their family so much!!Thank You OC Humane for filling our lives with these joyful animals.

A wonderful place - you can visit between 11 am - 3 pm and pet the cats. Very friendly volunteers explained to us all about how the place works. My daughter had a great time there - we went twice, and she was sad that we didnt get to go a third time.

Our family pet was turned down for Emergency Surgery because the vet on duty felt it more important to go home than to save a life ! The Humane Society is based on whats humane and just ! Plus my and your donations just so you can be turned down in an EMERGENCY of Life or death of your pet. I will put my donations to others. Where was her medical oath to save ? she flat out said no and now my pet is no longer with us due to her decision not to save a life.

Staff is Amazing, but The so called Humane Society is one of the biggest frauds, in this country like so many of them, they claim to protect animals and their rights, BigJoke check out a couple of websites, the real truth about Humane Society and a lot of other animals rights sites, better yet call them, ask if they can help u, that your Dog died do to Vet negligence could someone help you with advice or filing a complaint. You will either get the machine (a liar,to tell the speech)that may call you back for a donation and ur email for future donations.look at the employees salaries, all paid top dolllar to do nothing. Its the saddest thing when u do realize the truth, and u will.to come to realization that no one is doing protecting animals and rights, If fact getting paid to do nothing for animals but keep mouth shut and solicit donation.
