I just want to say Eddie is the best . He knows his job very well. He has always served me with a smile. And has advised me in any situation I have encountered. Ive never been a pool owner and had no clue. With his expertise Ive never had a spec of green ever in my pool . Thanks Eddie we love our pool.
This company and Todd in particular are the best. I had quick service, parts ordered, and installed as promised to repair my spa. He also fixed a pool chlorinator problem that came up after the fact while he was there. I highly recommend them and Todd for your pool/spa needs. Thanks again Todd for going the extra mile.
Great place to buy a pool and maintain.Eddie was great to work with and sold us a pool we are very pleased with.Had an issue with the included vacuum hose and it was cheerfully replaced immediately .Every other week when we come in for our water test SHARON is a joy.She knows her business, sell us what we need and only what we need.
Worst customer service. Lori (owner) never works, never answers her phone, never calls you back. She is completely worthless. Highly recommend not going through them ever… save your money, time and energy going with a company that cares about you as a customer. I would give them 0 stars but 1 star is the minimum so that’s what they are getting by default.
I worked with Lori & Tod in Family Pool and Spa. They are both very nice and helpful. We had an urgent situation with our spa and Tod made two trips to my home upon short notice and diagnosed the problem. They also explained to me the different options we have in fixing the spa heater: electric vs gas and helped us save alot of money. They are wonderful and trustworthy!

Have visited this store at least 3 times in the past couple months, trying to find spa chemicals that are compatible with sensitive skin issues. Eddie and Brandie were a great help, offering different options to try and providing answers to any questions I had. I eventually settled on their BacquaSpa line of products, of which they carry the full line. Thank-you for what you do!

For all those customers willing to buy a above the ground pool from this place and get installed for the subcontractor phone provided, do not sing any paper or provide any down payment before you read it, they will ask you for a down payment and after you pay then they will give you two subcontractors phone numbers ( good luck if you get your pool installed before the summer ends ) they won’t tell you the consequences if you don’t read the contract first, they only tell you after you sing and paid that they are not responsible for the installation so if you decide not to keep dealing with the subcontractors lies and bs and cancel the purchase and get it from honest business, well say goodbye to your down payment or get ready for a cancellation fee of 2500 or more depending on the total value of the purchase so that’s the trick they use to get money from customers that not want to do business with dishonest people, please read the contract first but I’m one of many victims, my advice go to another pool store that not play this kind of scam.

First negative review I ever did, but just had to. First and last time Ill stop here. I wanted some chlorine and info/estimate on some pools. The Lady/cashier seemed to be rather frustrated or bothered to have to get up and take care of me, (the place was empty, until I walked in). Anyway after I paid she Said, If you want chlorine youll have to drive to the back gate, (ok no biggie but you didnt have to say it the way you did). As I am lowering the tailgate to load the chlorine, she drops the containers to the pavement behind me and says have a nice day and keeps on trucking, God forbid if she had to do her job if someone needed some chlorine or something. I then hopped in my truck and left without going in to get any info or estimate on a pool for our new place.
We didnt rate this company at the time we made our purchase but we probably should have. We were given a date that they would install our pool but when I went to pick up our purchase and verify the installation I was informed that was not the date it would be installed, I assume it was the owner cthat chewed out the salesperson right in front of me for telling me it would be installed on the date I was originally given. The subcontractor installed the pump and filter incorrectly so we had to have them come back to correct. Fast forward to today our liner developed a leak, I called to find out what we needed to do to get it fixed. I was informed I could purchase a repair kit. The only question he asked was if I knew where the leak was, which I was not sure of but I think it is on the bottom because of how low it leaks down and there is a dip in the liner. The person I was speaking with indicated that the warranty didnt apply and I just needed to purchase a repair kit myself. I could accept that if they had investigated the cause and provided some proof that it wasnt a defect or wasnt caused by being installed incorrectly. I wasnt asking to have them replace the liner I just wanted the warranty honored and fix the leak. There is more to this but use this company at your own risk, too bad since were in the market for a hot tub.

Worst pool company to deal with. Was told Monday that my pool would be delivered on Tuesday before 12 noon. Come to find out, no deliveries are done on Tuesday, and owner doesnt work on Tuesday, neither does Eddie.Rude receptionist wouldnt even call the owner to find out what is going on with my delivery. The best she can do is take my name and number and Eddie will call me tomorrow. Paid full amount for the pool, the least Family Pool Spa could do is given me a damn good day and date when my pool will be delivered.
To explain my experience would take too long. I suggest to anyone in the market for a pool is.. first find a good installer 2nd get a permit 3rd find the pool you want. I got 2 for 3 the pool I wanted and a permit. Buy your pool here if you want.. but dont expect anything else. Dont believe what they tell you or promise. Im sure all good folks.. but the follow through is a mess. You cant trust the install .. there is no service to speak of and they sell chemicals .. thats an expectation that you will still want anything to do with them after a nightmarish experience. Their response to my rating .. was they are trying to get a hold of me? No messages on my phone no letters in the mail.. Ive fixed the mess on my own and now know that I made the mistake of going through a dysfunctional business to buy my pool. So as I said .. if youre buying a pool and you find the one you want there.. so be it.. but dont expect anything else. I suggest that you make your own delivery arrangements too.

Our spa experience was seamless weve had it for 3yrs moved it to a new location and are happy with our experience as we use it daily. Our pool experience well has been different. I will not go into the entire nightmare, however, after the sale service is at best, horrible, never a return phone call after saying they will. Purchase pool in May now its October. CANNOT RECOMMEND.** Update** our motor died on our pump and after last experience I dreaded calling, however to my surprise the guy we had a problem with was no longer there. Thank God because he was a thug and a theif. The good news is after what has been a trying year for all Family pool is back and servicing their customers in good faith. Thank you to Bill and Lori! Todd was awesome! Thank you so much.

I had the distinct unpleasant of having to go to the Family Pool and Spa in Ocala this morning. I found a complete lack of customer service, I was spoken to in a condescending way, rude should be this young ladys middle name.
Brandy is amazing, we are from Ohio and could not find a pool because of the pandemic. We called down to this pool store after looking all over for one and she had just what we were looking for. She went out of her way to send us photos of the pool from her very own cell phone. She answered all of our questions and help us honestly during the hole process. Berry kind people at this place when we arrived and even helped us out with our straps on our truck when we showed up.! She even helped us find a contractor after we were home in Ohio and Daniel Diacont Sr. (Danny Diacont) was great also.! I could not have had a better experience! Everyone please go here these people care about there customers. Even the contractor who installed our pool. Very trustworthy people! Thanks to all who was involved!! I look forward to purchasing your hot tubs!!
I am going to start my review by saying, I am sorry to see people writing these horrible reviews. I had a very positive experience with them. When getting a pool or spa, it’s your job to do your homework on care and upkeep and just following simple instructions.I wanted to purchase a pool this year so I could stop driving to our local pool just so I could use it better certain hours. Not only was it for fun but I medically need one for relief of medical issues. Anyway, my husband and I go to the location and look around. Everyone was very nice to us and took the time to get to know us. Within 30 minutes they knew what we could have and what would just be too much. We go to do the paperwork and they informed me that there was a break on certain things if it’s medically needed. The install even went well. I have been in there several times since that first visit and they treat me like family. The owner is amazing.When you stop in, say hello to Shawn and Eddie. They will hook you up all with a good laugh.

We were searching for a spa & happily found Family Pool & Spa in Ocala. Eddie was great! He took the time to show all the spa features, answer our questions, & help us find a beautiful spa to fit our needs. Delivery & installation was a breeze! The 2 young men carefully delivered and set up our spa, stairs, & cover lifter & filled spa with water. They made sure it worked properly & went over spa operation & chemical use. I received excellent advice from Eddie and Shawn on how to restore and maintain my my pool chemistry. In early summer, my pool looked like a green swamp, and I was unable to resolve this situation. However, by following their written recommendations, I was able to return the water to crystal clear and maintain the clarity and chemical balance all summer long. It was definitely worth the drive from Gainesville to get their expert advice and purchase the necessary chemicals. I highly recommend using them...

Would said they don’t have the pice of your pool that you already pay for and that you have to wait but if you call your bank and they call them they magically got the pice the SAME DAY. Wow what a miracle. They would never return your call or would try to help you. Once they get your money that it they are done with you. All they care is about the money not there customer.
We purchased a Marquee Spa from Family Pool & Spa in Ocala. Our spa was under warranty and continually had leaks. The repairman came out to repair it several times, and even went so far as to load up the spa and take it back to the shop to work on it. The spa was delivered and began leaking -- AGAIN!. I called and asked to speak with the owner Bill. Bill had our spa replaced, with a brand new one he ordered from the manufacturer, because of the issues it had. Ours was just a lemon, since they havent had the issue with their other spas. This story could have had a very unhappy ending, but Bill has earned our loyalty and praise! We feel this is above and beyond for a businessman to take care of his customers in this way. We LOVE our new spa, and look forward to enjoying it for many years to come!! If I could give company 0 stars I would. This is the worst place to do business with once they get your money you might as well forget it they don’t care about you after that. And don’t worry about purchasing or receiving a warranty with your purchase because they don’t honor it. And bill the owner is the rudest person to deal with. He is the owner but wants to lie and say he is not the owner when everybody confirms he is the owner. He can’t even get his customers right called me talking about how it wasn’t his guys fault for breaking something on a pump and I was like I don’t have a broken pump he was like oh I guess I have the wrong customer. And he goes ok let me see oh you are and said my name and told him he didn’t create the problem with my pool. And then he said the solution was to get a cover and it will only cost me a few hundred dollars more after I just paid him over 5,000. The only nice person in that place is Shaun the secretary. Oh and I forgot to mention don’t have them send a tech down they are clueless. Needless to say I have to pay another company to fix a problem that they should have honored.

Thank you Ed and Shawn! I always shop for my pool chemicals and parts here and appreciate the great service. Today I came in frustrated the water flow on my inground pool was so diminished. Barely any water flowing. They spent a while talking to me and educating me and helping me decide what the problem could be. I went home and tried their suggestions and my water is flowing great! I am so thrilled they took the time and had the knowledge to help me. Thank you, i will continue to be a faithful customer.
We purchased a 27 foot pool about two years ago. We love it! Any questions we have had have been answered in a very timely manner. We buy all of our supplies from them still and they ensure our pool is clear and clean! Ed has always been efficient, professional, and helpful in all interactions we have had with him!
My wife left a review but since Lori wants to say the hole in my pool is an act of God from nut grass. I felt the need to leave my opinion. First of all let me start off by saying professionalism is not their strong point. They sent a tech down and he was barefoot and left dirt marks on my carpet. When I complained they told me the guy never wears shoes. The owner Bill was very rude to my wife I called right back within a minute of my wife talking with him and he would not take my call and I never received a call back from him or anyone else from this company. As far as you saying that nut grass created the hole in my pool I do not see how grass can grow sideways on the inside of my pool. You are saying it is nut grass because that is what your barefoot tech told you when in fact I was told I do not have nut grass. I can bring you in a patch of my grass for further investigation since you want to blame nut grass and not consider any other options such as a faulty liner. You said you offered us a shield at a discount I do not consider $250 a discount for something that Bill said may not work and we may have to try something else. I don’t know about you but I don’t have a money tree growing in my backyard but that could be because the “nut grass” will not let the money tree grow.Now for your comment about it being logical for me to use another pool company yes it is logical because I have done everything you have said to do I have patched my pool I have filled the pool up three times with water and still my pool won’t hold the water. And as far as you blaming the manufacture you just don’t want to take the blame. So you blame the manufacturer and say it’s not covered under the warranty. I don’t know what then is covered under that 15 year warranty. I never heard back from Bill so I decided to take matters into my own hands and hire another pool company and yes it did cost me more money but atleast I know it will be done right this time.
I had a great experience with Shawn. We decided to upgrade our spa and I had a few questions and concerns about materials and cost. Not only was Shawn extremely knowledgeable about the products she explained all of the options we had as well. Very professional. We received such great customer service, Im sure to be back, and thank you Shawn!

So very helpful! Tested my water for free, gave me the printout with numbers, and didnt try to sell me a bunch of chemicals. Ill go back once a week with sample water and their computer figures it out for me.

Wrote a personal check ($5000.) for the purchase of a pool. When I attempted to write a per. check for chemicals 6 months later I was told we dont accept checks. Was also informed cash was preferred so they wouldnt have to pay the service charge with credit card use.

After years of unpleasant outcomes from competitors in Belleview, we finally gave Family Pool and Spa a chance to help us. At first we were simply relieved and happy with the intelligent and kind service we got from everyone there, and thrilled by the best hours of any pool store we have ever seen. As our needs grew (I am responsible for 3 pools now) I truly found out why they are so beloved and enjoyed by so many. Eddie, and the sunshinee Shawn gal helping out, solved our problems right away. Very disappointed in the after sale service. My hot Tub (Bull Frog) was delivered with a damaged corner. I have been trying to get this corner piece replaced for nearly a year. Eddie (at the store) has told me since November 2015 that this part was ordered. I spoke to him at least 8 times and each time he asks for the same information again and tells me the part is ordered. I had the same problem getting the tie downs for the hot tub cover. I finally received them after several months. Family Pool and Spa still has not replaced the damaged corner piece on my hot tub. I spent over $15,000 in this store for the pool and spa and the service has been terrible. It just isnt a very well run company. There is no follow up on anything.
I am very pleased with the service at Family pool & spa. They are very friendly and easy to work with. I felt they were very reasonably priced and worked within my budget to get me the best deal.

We purchased a pool about 14 months ago and finanaced a portion of it through the company. I have on numerous occasions called and requested a statement be mailed or emailed to me. They refuse to. As of right now and through this entire year I do not know how much of my payment has gone to interest or principal or how much I owe. And if I didn’t have my payment automatically drafted I wouldn’t know a due date for each month. I have other lines of credit and each one provides me with this information through a statement. This place claims they don’t have a program that can generate a statement. If you don’t have a program that can generate a statement or you don’t have record of the information a statement provides then I suspect your a shady company. By the choice of people they chose to install my pool it really makes me wonder.l if there not just that. Nothing but a bunch of junkies Installed my pool and they did a terrible job at it. It first buckled and has permanent indention marks, the top rim is uneven, and I don’t think they leveled the bottom at all, it’s so bumpy and in places will hurt if you step on it wrong. It also changes the water levels in some places. I will never recommend this company.
I have recently come here to replace my pool filter cartridge. It is pretty difficult to find because my pool is old. Heather knew just what I needed and was very helpful. I come here now for everything. They know their business.

What can I say about my experience at Family Pool and Spa? GREAT! If I could give this place a 10 I would! I purchased a 27 Foot above ground pool from them. When I was shopping for a pool other places wanted to sell me a pool at outrageous prices. I walked into this store met the sales guy named ED who sat me and my family down, asked what we were interested in and went from there. He took us outside where they have displays and helped us pick what was best for us. they had our pool installed and ready to be filled asap. Ed helped us understand a guided us on how to take care of the liner and the pool water as well. Any time that I ever have had a question Ed gets with me or if I call and hes not available, Ed calls me back immediately. Thanks Ed for all your help! This is definitely the Publix of pools in Ocala! Where shopping was a pleasure!!! LOL
I don’t know what happened to review it seems like it’s been deleted Everyone I’ve talked about Family pool and spa and Ocala says they’ve had horrible experiences with them do not buy from these people let me start off by saying that after sales experience has been absolutely horrible with these people nobody gets back to you everybody blames each other on what’s going on.For two weeks I’ve been trying to get a hold of somebody to fix my filter and just now somebody has got back to me took almost 10 days of me calling daily and getting nothing but run around this place is absolutely horrible after sails good luck getting your 50 year warranty if you can even get a hold of these people the pools are great the sales people are friendly they want your money that’s it once you have bought you’re just a number and you do not get any Sales service I was told that they prioritize their repairs and apparently mine is not very important it’s only the The filter that keeps it clean from day one my filter was faulty I’ve had the pool almost a month now nobody has even come out to look at it supposedly I’m scheduled do not buy from them this is the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced I am a business owner and I know everything about customer service these guys are the worst when it comes to it you’re treated like garbage when you have an issue with your pool they treat it like it’s something you did It’s worth the drive to go to Gainesville do not deal with the Ocalla pool and spa

Ed Mayfield helped us along every step of the way without a glitch.We had an above the ground pool put in the ground for almost 20 years. Having used Family pool and Spa for our chemicals we trusted to go to them with our dilemma....we unfortunately had a collapse and Ed was able to coordinate Daryl and his team to come and work out all the kinks!!!They made it look easy...showed up on time clean neat professional. I am writing this Because in most cases reviews are written when bad things happen, not when good things happen. I suffer from many injuries as well as does my wife so when we decided to move to Fl we also decided we would get a pool for PT.Lori and Bill (I believe thats her husbands name) were great in helping us, we already knew what we were after since we setup a pool in Texas, what was good, bad. What to get, not to get. Bill noticed right off I was a veteran (meaning he pays attention to the details), after our pool was setup and filled the pump failed after about 1-2minutes, they replaced without a problem.Does this mean we wont ever have friction in our business relationship? I dont know, hope not and dont expect to, but its not IF you have friction its how EVERYBODY works to resolve it and if my issue is caused by a bone head mistake / choice I made, Im man enough to take it even though I wont like it (some of the reviewers should take this bit and think about that).I Have had the privilege of meeting and chatting with their customers while we wait our turn and I have found a lot of them have gone to other pool stores to save time and according to them they always come back to here because the others didnt know their business or gave VERY wrong advise on water. That is good enough for me cause put those with my experiences and this is the place you want to buy a pool. We had recently moved to Florida when we decided to purchase a hot tub. The owner worked with us and had a nice selection. Unfortunately for us, we had not done our homework and we were not knowledgeable about requirements to get the water hot (similar to the ones you find in a hotel). What sealed the deal was when we were told if it doesnt work out for you for any reason, we will buy it back within one year of the sale. Fast forward - A few weeks of having the hot tub it was anything but hot. We went back to the store to initiate the buy back. He tried everything possible to not honor his word of a refund but we were adamant that we were done with hot tubs. He eventually consented to buy it back....at an EXTREMELY SMALL FRACTION of what we paid because it was now considered used. I have mixed feelings about this business. If the hot tub worked the way we thought it should (we needed higher voltage to make it hotter) then we would have kept it and been very happy. Since we decided not to go that route, a honest description of how the buy back plan works (at the time of purchase) would have been the right thing to do.Editing my initial review: Im changing my initial review from 3 stars to 1 star. Unfortunately at this point there is no lower star to select. Apparently you nor your fellow cronies didnt fully read my initial review. We admitted it was our error by not doing our homework before setting out to purchase a hot tub. The timeliness of my initial review is unimportant as it doesnt change the facts. What is important is that you were notified that we were not happy less than 2 weeks after delivery. Your 100% satisfaction guarantee WAS told to us. In addition, we were told about the buy back option if it didnt work out. The hottub was beautiful - prettiest we have ever seen but again we needed a stronger voltage to make the water hotter. If you wish to call it buyers remorse, didnt do our homework etc you are 100% correct. We are not blaming you for our lack of knowledge. We are unhappy that the buy back option alluding to a reasonable refund was not honored. Apparently you still have our records and could adjust the refund amount or you could continue to publicly laugh thinking we are blaming you that the hottub didnt work out. Your choice.
I have known and dealt with Family Pool Spa & Billiard Center for many years. Their knowledge of the products they sell and professionalism when dealing with customers is noteworthy and the reason I highly recommend them.
I purchased my pool almost 2 years ago, and I visit them every 2 weeks to have the water tested. The staff is great and my pool is always sparkling clean.

Carl barrows (leisure tech) has left a review of this company calling them complete swindlers and that they have horrible service. Hes leaving fake google reviews. He worked for family pool and was terminated and opened his own buisness apparently this is how he is trying to get business. He did the same thing to our company as we let him go as well before they did. So if they do have horrible service and carlleisure technologies was the service guy than it would fall back on him since he was doing jobs for them. If I were them Id take him to court for libel and slandering their name. We send a great deal of customers to family for abg pools and havent had a complaint yet!The only 2 reviews they have are from his gf and her mother acting as customers-so to get customers they have to pretend as if they are customers. They have been in business 2 months- where as family pools and our company on the other side of town have been serving Marion county for decades.
My boyfriend and I bought a pool from family pool and spa and during the winter some how it started falling apart or the liner has was messed up. Either way we called and they came out a few days later after he said he would be here that day but he said he was going to have to replace the liner..... It has been months now and 2e have made several attempts to call Bill and several emails well two or three weeks ago he came out with another guy to fix it well. Then didnt even bring the Liner and that was the reason they was coming out smh... Then said they had to leave and go get it and be back that day and they have not returned or contacted us or returned our calls etc.... This is rediculus and very upsetting because I have told my kids several times that the pool will be fixed and the look on their faces is what upsets me more and all the money we spent on the pool. They should not tell people they will fix it and not do it or not contact them. Im seriously thinking about getting a refund and going else where and another thing because they made an appointment to come fix it we made my 9 yr old sons birthday party around the time it was supposed to have been fixed for his pool party and that was ruined because they did not show up and we called and had 4 different service tickets and the front desk asked us to drain the pool. To have it ready and they would be out that weekend and they didnt show and then the last time they came out with was the day it was supposed to have been fixed bill told my boyfriend to cut the liner off so it will be fast so we did because they was supposed to have came back I know this is alot but Im very upset about this...... And now seeing alot of bad reviews makes me sick that we wasted our time and money
I know they will see you coming and if you dont no what pools are and what goes with it dont be a woman and go there cuse they take advantage of the elderly and single women they took advantage of my Mother in-law what a joke this place is

Our family purchased a pool from Family Pool & Spa in Ocala on April 26th and it was completed on June 30th. I am very disappointed in the install and the follow up with the staff, however the owner of the company in my opinion did everything he could to correct the problems and I believe was very sincere.

I am new home owner and needed help picking out a vacume. I told the lady i had an inground pool and she sold me an above ground vacume. So i got home figured out the vacume would not work so i brought it back to the store any they refused to give any refund or help all i wanted was the right vacume and they didnt have one in stock and the owner told me he would handle my situation personally. I waited two weeks went back to the store two times in the process and still never recieved any help or even a phone call from the owner i ended up haveing to call my credit card company and filing a complaint to get my money back. TERRIBLE COMPANY. (Response.)That is a lie i have still yet to ever even recieve a phone call from you guys and you did tell me you would get the other cleaner which i didnt mind paying for if you would have ever actually contacted me but i got nothing but the run around from your terrible staff who would do nothing but tell me there was nothing they could do and I certainly never heard from the owner.
Hot tub has had issues since we got it. We got basically no instruction on care of the hot tub other than how often to change filters. Still has a slimy coat after filter change.
Love, Love, Love Family Pool and Spa in Ocala. The owner took care of us personally. We had several questions and Mr. Bill took his time and answered everything. We were not pressured or rushed to make any decisions. The price was perfect. We were considering 2 different size pools. We ended up choosing the 24 instead of the 27 with complete support from the staff. Absolutely no push to purchase the larger pool. Mr. Bill simply wanted to make sure we were happy with our product. We have had our pool for almost a year and it has been well worth every penny. Mr. Bill helped set us up on a VERY LOW maintenance program that has been a dream. I never knew that owning a pool could actually be so easy.About 15 years ago we purchased our first 24 pool from another pool supplier. We got several years of use from that pool but it was a headache and aggravation the entire time. We were talked into things we did not need, needed things we did not get and put on a chemical system that was a nightmare.The pool turned out to be more work and trouble than it was worth. We finally got tired of all the work, disassembled the pool and sold it.I refuse to shop anywhere else.We live over an hour away from Family Pool and Spa in Ocala and have a few pool dealers within 30 minutes or less of our home. After speaking to each dealer, we gladly took our business to Ocala. When we are ready to purchase our Spa, we will be going back to Family Pool and Spa in Ocala.
