My 5 year old son has been a student for just shy of a year. I have always heard good things about this center. What I did not know was that we would gain a family! My son has made great friends, which has in turn made me some great friends. The staff is like family, the passion they have for helping the kids become their very best is amazing. They truly are the best!

Love practicing Tang Soo Do at the Martial Arts Center teaches great self defense and life lessons and I’m in the best health that I have ever been in :)! Definitely recommend them! Been going for about a year now helps build strength and confidence and self discipline for all ages!

We went for our first class today and it was a great experience. My son is usually very shy but he felt very comfortable and was engaging almost instantly. Everyone was very nice and took the time to discuss and explain everything. We are looking forward to many more classes!

Joining The Mac was the best decision our family has made. They treat my son with respect and give him the confidence and encouragement he needs to succeed in life. It takes a village to raise a child and you want MAC as part of your village. My child has built so much confidence over the past year that we have attended class at MAC. The instructors are some of the most patient and kind people I have ever met. They make a point to bring themselves to the same level as the students they teach and tell them consistently that they are capable of achieving their goals. They teach life lessons and strong morales. So all students learn more than just self defense, they learn how to be a good and successful person.

Since becoming a member of the MAC...I have learned so much from all the instructors. All of the items listed above...good quality, good value, professionalism and good communication are taught in each and every class. My parents always compliment the entire staff involved at the MAC. And tell me how lucky I am to have such instructors that teach there. The knowledge and techniques they pass on. As I get older...I now understand more and more the importance of these qualities.

Were so incredibly pleased with The Martial Arts Center and their program! Our son would go seven days a week if he were able to! Hes always so enthusiastic about learning his forms and progressing his skills, as well as meeting up with his friends (kids and staff alike).We love the comprehensive program that not only teaches the technical side of karate, but also the life skills and character-building concepts like integrity, respect, self-control, and honesty. Its always a joy to watch when Kyo Sa Nim pulls the kids aside to teach a relevant lesson about something that occurs in class.The aspect that were most impressed with, however, is the staff. The instructors are simply incredible. Ive never seen a group of people who are more talented, kind, warm, charismatic, and suited for teaching who are all congregated in one building. Great classes and staff! I have had a lot of fun taking classes these past 6 years

My son, Justin has been coming here for almost 4 years, he is 8 now and I have seen my sons focus and self discipline improve so much. The MAC have been like a 2nd family to us. The instructors are awesome, who make it a point to see how he is doing socially and academically. I am so glad we found this school!

I moved with my wife and children from Georgia a year ago. My daughter has always loved the martial arts so, we signed up for The Martial Arts Center. After a few weeks of attending- my daughters behavior started to change. She did not want to go there and this concerned me. My daughter was saying all of the boys would get several turns at least three times and then she would get called on. I thought maybe she was being sensitive because we just moved so I went to class to watch but, did not announce to the teachers whose father I was. I was very upset by what I observed. My daughter was completely left out and discriminated against. Each student would take their turn three to four times then they would let her practice. I immediately took her out after that lesson and I am glad to say she now goes to, Ocala Karate Dojo, and is much happier. I do NOT recommend having your children participate in a club that promotes discrimination. I believe all children deserve equal opportunities whether its martial arts or education in engineering- girl or boy. Shame on, The Martial Arts Center, for allowing this type of behavior to go on in 2020.

The instructors here and all the staff are absolutely amazing!! They have shown my daughter that she can be such a strong leader and helped her build up her confidence as well as her discipline!! We love our MAC family and are so glad we joined!!!

First off, I have been training in various martial arts since 1986 and I feel this is an amazing place. Top notch martial arts training and far more. The leadership gained by just attending is great, but they also have specific leadership classes. And if your a little more adventurous you can join the hyper class.I have been training here for just over a year and plan to be here for many years to come. Hope to see you here

The MAC is very family oriented studio. My son and I have been attending the school for 18 months and enjoy every visit. The instructors are friendly and easy to talk with. I have seen them assisting parents with issues outside of the studio, often with just a few words to the children. I highly encourage anyone with the slightest interest to call and set up an appointment to see what the academy has to offer you.

This is way more than just martial arts, it is a lifestyle, a family oriented environment in which everyone plays a part of. Life skills that will last a lifetime. We absolutely love being a part of the MAC!

Wow is all I can say. This place left me speechless and smiling. Todd was amazing!! Walked me through all of there programs and patiently explained everything to me. I feel more than comfortable allowing my son to become apart of this family oriented facility. It’s super clean and well organized and all staff were genuinely happy to teach these kids ( I got to watch a couple of classes while i toured) If I could give 10 stars I would. They are super reasonably priced as well. I don’t feel like a dollar sign I feel like family.

This place has exceeded my expectations. My 3 kids were there for the summer camp and do karate 3 times a week. They absolutely love it and have become even more respectful and helpful then they were already. The staff is wonderful and take their time with the students and give everyone a chance to excel at their own pace. Very friendly and courteous as well as knowledgeable. The staff addresses any concerns or questions you may have quickly and if they dont have the answer they will get it for you without hesitation. I highly recommend THE MARTIAL ARTS CENTER for all people of all ages and levels.

I highly recommend this studio. I had the opportunity to start classes with my children and continue for 3 years until I earned my midnight blue belt. My daughters continued on for 5+ years (until going to college).I feel our experiences with the Martial Arts Center greatly helped prepare my girls not only for applying to colleges, but also applying to grad programs in Veterinarian Medicine and Speech Pathology. The lessons taught at this studio go far beyond the physical defense aspect, they teach resect, self discipline, and so much more. The instructors are fantastic and I would highly recommend the Martial Arts Center to all.

The staff are very helpful and great with the kids. They have lots of class times, affordable price, and tons of fun activities for the kids. My daughter loves this place and is practicing Karate all the time now. They do a great job motivating the kids and teaching them about important values. The kids arent competing but working together to learn and its great to see. Would definitely recommend!

In August I signed up my kids and it was the best decision we made. The entire staff is truly devoted to their students. To helping them become better in every aspect from karate to their everyday lives.I recently decided to join my kids on the mat and again so glad I did.You could not ask for a better staff.They go that extra mile with anyone student who needs that extra help and they always have words of encouragement and praise. I enjoy watching my kids and myself as we progress towards our goals both on the mat and off and the MAC has helped us greatly.

The staff and everyone at the MAC are amazing! They really have a way of making you instantly feel like part of the MAC family! The classes are structured, but still fun for the students. They not only teach the students Tang Soo Do, but they also teach them respect and discipline along with many other positive characteristics. I highly recommended giving them a try and you’ll see how awesome they are for yourself.

We love this place, it has been so wonderful for our son. They are great with the children during the training sessions. It is not only about karate, they teach so many valuable lessons to these kids such as discipline, respect toward others, respect for the human body. Having moved a lot since my 8 year old was born, we have gone through quite a few karate studios, this BY FAR is the best.P.S. their parents night out, day camps, birthday parties (we have tried them all here) are great and keep my kid on his toes. This place is a gem in Ocala.

The MAC is a wonderful family (of all shapes, sizes and types) oriented facility. They get to know each student by name and go out of their way to be as supportive as possible.

Absolutely love the M.A.C. My son was sensitive and unable to focus in school. He was getting in trouble and had to be first in everything. As soon as we spoke to Tess she had a positive attitude and promised they could correct all of this. He goes to class twice a week and has improved so much. He makes E S honor roll has a positive attitude and doesnt always need to be the main focus of attention. He also has a goal now and that is to be an assistant at the M.A.C because he wants to be a positive role model for the younger kids. I love everyone at the M.A.C and I think they are all dedicated to the students of the classes.

There are many martial arts centers out there that are all the same. This is not one of them. The owner AND all of the instructors are thoroughly dedicated to my child. They engage him and every child/adult in each class. You can tell they truly care about each student learning and progressing. The owner seeks me out and checks in regularly to see how my son is doing. She interviewed us first to find out the real reason we were interested in signing him up such as for confidence, or energy, or interactions with others etc... When the owner follows up she remembers why we started in the first place and makes sure parts of his class are tailored just for him. Weekly emails and monthly check ins are just a few of the amazing little things that help make this class Amazing! I will and have already Highly Recommended this class to all who ask.

Both my boys take classes here (9 & 10). They started a year ago and we have seen a great improvement in their physical fitness and self esteem. The staff here really cares about everyone who enters their doors.

I started my daughter at the martial arts center a little over a year ago, she was 3 at the time. My experience at he martial arts center has been nothing but exceptional since day one. My daughter is now 4 and the discipline and respect she has gained through her martial arts training is astounding. I dont think there is a more profound activity for your children to be involved in.

Our granddaughter Ivy has been a member of the MAC family for two years now. It truly is a family and a life changing experience for her, both mentally and physically. She loves it AND LIVES IT! The staff is awesome

My son has ADHD and this center has been very patient with him. He has learned to focus, follow directions, and is gaining self confidence. The teachers are very patient with the kids. I highly recommend enrolling your kids or yourself for class. They teach my son self defense and strengthen him mentally and physically.

We joined a couple of months ago as a family and plan to continue. Most amazing place in Ocala to learn martial arts. The top notch staff are amazing and take the time to learn about each student. I am appalled and shocked at the unprofessional behavior of “The Martial Arts Center in Ocala Florida on Maricamp rd and I hope this post will help you save a lot of time, money, anguish and make a better choice when selecting a proper martial arts facility for your children.I have sacrificed a lot over several years to bring my children to The Martial Arts Center.I am a single mother and first responder. As you can imagine being on the frontlines of the Covid-19 pandemic has been challenging, in between emergencies and the longest hours any medical professional has ever worked. Despite all of this - I still managed to take my children to private classes that I was paying a lot of money for at The Martial Arts Center.The teachers are teenagers and their behavior has always been quite unprofessional in several instances but I let it slide for some time... this incident puts the nail in the coffin!For years my children have worked extremely hard, especially my son, towards The Midnight Blue Belt. I got called to help The National Gaurd during the pandemic and my children missed 2 days due to this emergency.To make up for the missed days, I even paid for private lessons because I didn’t want my son to be denied the chance to test for the The Midnight Blue Belt.”Even though I was told they could test after I paid for private lessons. Last minute after I paid - the teacher and owner said they changed their mind and said my children could not test. This is completely unprofessional. On top of that the teenage teachers screamed at my children and made them cry because they missed two classes. When I brought up the unprofessional and childish behavior to the owner Rene Williams to give her a chance to rectify the situation- she failed to correct the situation and tried to get more money out of me.This program is supposed to bring children up, not bring them down.Over the years I have sacrificed to get my children to class, I also let all the price increases slide. Even though other (karate places are cheaper) I stuck it out here. But now I see I should have left sooner.I am not the type to post reviews. I keep to myself because I am a very busy hard working medical professional, but dealing with the unprofessional behavior and price increases over the years I wouldn’t give this place even a half a star. I hope my post helps parents make informed decision to choose, Florida Martial Arts and Fitness Center, instead and have a better experience.
