I went to Laurence Orthopedic on May 5 to order new extra depth shoes and custom orthotics because I have Cerebral palsy of the left lower quadrant. Everyone was very pleasant. I was hopeful I had finally found a company that would treat me with respect, address my needs and take my case seriously, I had had a bad experience at Hanger Orthopedics in Oakland and Alameda Orthopedics already. So, during my visit to Laurence, I paid half the cost of the shoes and was told someone would call me when they’re ready. I waited a month. Nothing. I called. The orthotics lost my order. I GUESSED at my shoe sizes and told him to order them. Another 3 weeks and nothing. I called the company myself and was told the orthotics at Laurence still hadn’t placed my order. $124 and almost 3 months later and I have no new shoes, no new orthotics and Laurence Orthpedics has $124 of my money! Thieves.
Totally NOT a good experience at all!! If I could give no stars I would to this place!I went to my foot doctor who prescribed an insole for my shoe to help with my problem. My doctor gave my Lawrence Orthopedics’ business card and told me to give them a call, which I did and spoke to a lady on the phone. I told her I had Medicare-Medical insurance. She said OK, that sounds good. We then made an appointment for 1pm today 1/17/2013 and I made it there for my appointment only to find out that first, they had no record of my appointment, and second, that they indeed do NOT take my insurance.I then asked to speak to a manager and was told she was not there today. How can they be open and operating their business without a manager in charge on duty at all times? I then asked to speak to whoever was in charge that was there and I got this woman named Jerry. She was not very much help and instead of taking responsibility for the mistakes that were made she just made excuse after excuse as to why things turned out the way they did with no offer to accommodate me in any way.Overall going here was simply a total waste of my time! I am very disappointed and upset that they did not handle my situation better.
I have been in an accident some years ago and now I cannot walk withouta brace that must be adjusted often and even redesigned from time to time.My experience with a previous orthopedics company was that it was not willing to take the time and did not have the patience to keep on doing that.Tony, of Laurence Orthopedics, on the contrary, has done an excellent job ofdoing what had to be done, and I attribute my ability to walk and lead anormal life to his competence, patience, and willing to try and try again untilthe brace works. I am very grateful for his help.
A Kaiser doctor ordered a back brace for me to pick up at Laurence. I read these reviews first. Tony helped me. He was the total opposite of what one guys comment says. Tony was polite, friendly and very helpful. I hated the brace the doctor specified. Tony got me a different one that was available within the doctors order. It was far better. Instead of leaving with something I wouldnt use, I left with something I would use. I never saw any hint of the Tony the other guy described. Hes a nice guy and I enjoyed his company as well as appreciating the service he gave me.
They where very healpful, follow up was great as well. Did not feel rushed or anything. Also they took their time teaching me how to use the brace.
My father is an amputee and has been seeing Tony at Laurence Orthopedic for years now. I personally have been accompanying my father to his appointments for the past two years. There I witnessed firsthand how caring and compassionate Tony is. Furthermore, the staff is friendly, patient and helpful. We have never had any trouble rescheduling appointments; they are content and willing to work around our schedule. My only qualm is that the time span to get working parts is painfully long - laborious weeks of my father using a misfit leg - but besides that every appointment has been enjoyable and productive.
Horrible follow up. I cannot believe that as a recent patient before they moved, I have not heard anything from them about the office moving. I only know about it through mutual contacts. The last time I worked with them it took months to get anything going and Im a very active amputee who would prefer to move than to sit around waiting for their front staff to get their act together.
Bob and the front desk staff have been very helpful for my sons body brace.
EXCELLENT service and care for back braces for scoliosis.
Absolutely no follow through. I would give negative stars if I could. Do not use this business.
I had major problems with my shoes and inserts from Laurence Orthopedic of Oakland. I had to return the products for poor fitting and material production issues several times. Finally, after seven months I accepted the marginal products. I do not recommend this establishment.
I had my mom go there for a brace met with a Tony lafrance. this guy will have bad karma, He need to find another type off job no respect to handicaps, I will bet Laurence Orthopedic will go out of buisness because of him.Tony is a P O S
