Got off the phone with my insurance company and called Hertz they already had everything they needed to get me in a car. It was a quick sign this, put a deposit down, and let me pick between two cars. The staff was friendly and helpful with the questions we had. The lobby could use a quick clean but other than that no complaints!

Horrible wait time, when you call for reservation tell me how long your wait is for someone to pick up! When you go to the counter, there is only one person working. Our vehicle smelled like smoke, when asked, they said you have to wait another 30 min so we can get a different vehicle from Midway. Rental was paid for by insurance but we just got charged over $600, for what? Hertz corporate will be notified, stay away from this scummy rental place!

I made a reservation online, went in and was told very Rudely by Tanya/Tonya they didn’t have any cars. I would have been more understanding if Tanya/Tonya’s customer service wasn’t so terrible. She was extremely rude and unapologetic about the inconvenience. I will never attempt to do business with Hertz again.

Honestly, they deserve no stars! But, I couldnt write a review of my experience without assigning atleast one. Horrible experience and customer service. Do not recommend location. My reservation was thru the insurance. I preschedule reservation and to be picked up a week in advance. I was happy they offer the service. I called multiple times and no answer. When they finally answered I was placed on hold for 15 minutes. I had to hung up the call. Got back on the phone with the insurance and received a new reservation for Enterprise! They had great customer service! Service was fast and efficient!

Hertz. I have never had any issues with any other car rental service like the ones I had at Hertz. My original rental agreement was for $36.99 per day. I originally picked up my Hertz vehicle from the Countryside location. I had the car for a total of 3 business days (M-W). When I returned the vehicle it was a total of $657.82! The reason behind the change is cost was because it was technically a one way rental for the Oak Lawn location which had a rate of $189.99 per day FOR A TOYOTA COROLLA! It was absolutely absurd. A FULL SIZED SUV OR EVEN THEIR LUXURY VEHICLES ARE NOT PRICED AT $189.99 PER DAY!I will never rent from Hertz ever again. This would have never happened with Enterprise or Avis or Budget. They had no other reason than the price for the car being $189.99 per day. If those were the prices per day with the cars, no one would be renting vehicles at this location whatsoever. Its obscene and make no sense at all!

Absolutely Rude Customer Service!!!My First Experience with them!I Rented a car 🚗 that leaks oil and needs oil change.I barley drove the car to my home 🏡 and it broke down!!!I went to the Customer service and asked them for a replacement. However the girl there told me that they dont have a replacement at this time 🙄 😒I went back and talked to the Roadside Service and they told me that they do have it available at the location. And they told me theyre bringing now and its on its way.You know lying at Customer is a bad thing.Unprofessional Rental BusinessI dont recommend it.

Absolutely horrible service. The staff is extremely rude and lazy. Not to mention, there were other customers in the store that were also upset with the service and were being ignored or dismissed without explanation. I do NOT understand how this place is still open due to the nonstop issues we have experienced with them and the fact that we were still unable to get a car even though it was promised to be ready through insurance.

This location deserves 0 stars. I reserved a mid size online, I get there and a very rude woman informs me they have no cars and don’t know when they will have any. After getting in my car I see there’s at least 20 visible brand new cars in the lot, so I go back in and ask her how there’s no cars when clearly they have at least 20, her response is “they all need mechanical repairs”. Really??! Im insulted she would even think of telling me such a poor excuse for her laziness. The real question is...How is this location still standing after all the negative reviews?

I reserved a LUXURY car over a month ago and was not told that Hertz does not rent luxury cars around certain demographically areas. I just found out that they will not rent LUXURY cars on the south side of Chicago, only Ohare and other majority white areas. The representative was rude, but I must give her credit for calling around and CONFIRMING that they dont rent LUXURY cars to minorities. I reserved a Cadillac or Infiniti, and was offered a Altima or Ram truck..... NO COMPARISON!!! Then I was told that I was saving $20 by downsizing.... no discounts or rebates for my inconvenience, basically take it or leave it.I ended up going 2 blocks down to Enterprise and paying $100 more, but I did get a choice of cars and very professional customer service.I WILL NEVER EVER ATTEMPT TO RENT FROM HERTZ AGAIN !!!!!!

Will never use hertz or this location ever again. They dont even go over the contract with you so you get hit with all these fees and charges a month later. Car wasnt even clean on the inside and they are quick to get you out their store like they didnt wanna be bothered.Update 4/30/2020Got a rental in December, returned it in January.. it is now almost May and I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY DEPOSIT!! Tried to book a car through priceline. Called 1.5 hrs ahead to see if it went through. Didnt have any cars available. My reservation was for 230. Asked him if it was guaranteed that i get a car. He said There are no guarantees IN LIFE . Man.. it was a simple question about a car. A yes or no would have sufficed. Like what are you talking about man..

Rude staff. Car was completely disgusting and dirty on the inside literally it looked as if it was never cleaned. Called to let the store know that the rental was dirty 3 times no one answered and twice was hung up on. Called customer service finally and was able to report the matter.Do yourself a favor and spare the headache find a different place to rent a car from even if it is a little more expensive.

Dont know about this place. They charged me a $50 deposit and was told it would be returned to me after I drop off my rental.. dropped it off over 3 weeks ago and have yet to receive my deposit. Every time I call its a different story from each employee. The only reason Im giving it 2 stars is because I loved the car I was rented, nothing more.

I usually dont have any problems. But every once in a while, I get a car that wasnt cleaned. And that depends on who is on duty at the time. I have been using Hertz at this location since 2014. It seems like the biggest issue is employee turnover. Customers like familiarity. If there are always newbies, then that makes it more challenging for the company to build long term relationship with customers.

Unprofessional and will give you the runaround. Left me on hold for over 10 minutes when I called for the second time to inquiry about a release of an extended authorization hold after having to rent a vehicle through my car insurance. Its amazing they blew my phone up to inform me of when to return the car and inquire on the auto repair shop where repairs would occur. Sadly, instead of helping with this issue, I was on hold for so long an automated prompt came on. I will be calling corporate on this location. Thank you for lacking professionalism with the right person.

Very unprofessional. Lady said she called to tell me there were no cars available for my reservation, but I never received a call or voicemail. I was told to wait a couple hours and they would call me, but again I never received a call. I called them instead and was told there was some vehicles that could not be rented. I will never do business here again!

Being a Presidents Circle member means nothing here and the employees dont appear to know the included benefits like the one car class upgrade. If you are slightly outside the grace period for late returns you will be charged for an extra hour. When bringing the car back with less gasoline than was in it at the beginning of the rental instead of informing the customer and recommending a quick trip to the gas station in the next block, the employees will gladly charge the $9.99 per gallon refueling charge knowing it will be too late to do anything.

Excellent service, lady who helped me was very nice and professional, even thought I got there 10 minutes before they closed, she had to stay an extra 30 minutes just to help me, so happy and thankful for that, also when I returned the car, they even took me to the shop where my car was, very happy with the service.

This experience was horrible. The customer service rep name Marie was very incompetent. To start she gave us a dirty vehicle. Then we experienced service problems with the vehicle while in another state. We called and she gave us a number for a local Hertz in the area, and said she would call them in advance and make sure they knew we were coming in. She did not call and also provided us with inaccurate information on how to get a car swapped through Hertz. I called the number she provided me with for the local Hertz and was told they did not have a vehicle comparable to the one we had initially rented. Longstory short I called around to other Hertz in area and finally spoke to a competent representative who provided me with the 800 hertz number.I will never patronize this facility again. The service Was horrible and the customer service was by far the worst I have experienced. I suggest the staff gets policy training or be replaced with employees who actually care about the customer.

Id have to say that the check-in and check-out process was actually really decent. Both took less than 15 minutes, so I was pretty impressed. Ill have to admit that I was pretty disappointed in the quality of the vehicle that I was given. As soon as I sat in the vehicle, it just reeked of cigarette smoke. It made it difficult to drive for more than an hour. I also had a huge issue with the vehicle leaking from the ceiling while I was driving in the rain and got my pants soaked. Needless to say, I hope I never have to rent a car from here again.

Service rep was extremely kind. But we reserved a car, only to sit in hertz for an hour to find out they didnt have the car for us. They tell us to go to their other location only to find out they closed while we were walking out of this location. Call the midway location and they tell us any car from them would be double the price. So we were left with no car. Had to find another rental place. Price was right but reserving a car apparently means nothing.

I have used Hertz in Oaklawn, IL everytime I come to Chicago to visit my family. The customer service is awesome! The staff there is friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this site to all people in search of a rental car for their stay. The prices are very reasonable as well. Thank you Hertz for an amazing experience every time!

1st visit, Everything went smooth. The car was nice. I gave a 4 star rating. 2nd & 3rd visits were horrible customer service. Voices were raised by 2 seperate employees at 2 different dates and times. If you are taking my hard earned money, at least have a little respect or courtesy. Other employees and customers who were present came to me and said I was treated wrong.

Rented a car from here and has problems with the braking system and it had mod in the truck I drove it to Florida and got pulled over for smoke coming from the rear wheel cop made me tow the car to the airport in Orlando.when I got the junk car there hertz didn’t want to give me a return car to go back to Chicago and they rented the same junk car out to someone else who complain about the same thing I ended have to pay 650 for a fight for three people to return home to Chicago herts charged me over 800 dollars for leaving the car in Florida and refused to give me a car going back. Crooks stay away

Not a bad experience if you want to feel like Snoop Dogg. First of all the car type I reserved was unavailable and after an hour I was given a small upgrade. When I opened the car the smell of weed hit me! I told the employee who laughed and said Well we charged the previous renter $200. Im not sure how that helps me. I was in a hurry so I took the car. When I got home I looked through the car and found green shake (Marijuana pieces) all over the seats and floor. I tried cleaning it out, but it didnt help. My wife and I switched the vehicle out at another location where the manager said They should have gotten the vehicle detailed. Terrible experience overall!

This is the worst car rental experience ever! I called at 4pm to inform them I would be there within the hour. Arrived only to find out the person who transports the customers to and from their destination was gone for day. I had no way of picking my car up from the auto shop but to call a Uber. Waited over an hour for a car I was never going to get apparently... I got an email confirming the car I reserved, yet when I got there, I was told that nothing was available and that I should have called to make sure they had the car ready. Where in the email did it say this? Why was I not contacted and told that no cars were available? Why do you guys still take reservations if you dont have enough cars available? Also there was a bunch else that was horrible here, but i cant remember at the moment.

I can see why this location may get bad reviews. I put in for a reservation and was told we only accept reservations with 2 days notice minimum, so we dont have any vehicles left. Hmmm ok, never heard that before. But all worked out in the end, I got a rental and was able to get home. Now as far as the car.... the inside of the windows were covered with something unpleasant until I got to a gas station to get some paper towels and windex.

Rude staff. Need to update their location on the website. We booked the rental car under the impression it would be located at a Marriot on 65th st. Found out when we arrived in chocago the location moved to here. Being in a strange place and unaware of our surroundings we asked Hertz qnd was rudely told we needed to find our own ride to get there. When we got there, the staff was impolite and impatient, not wanting to deal with us.

Rent from enterprise, youre better off, I came in rented a car for 5 minutes drove out and came back ; I tried renting another car because I wasnt satisfied with it. They didnt have any other mid sized cars available, I returned it and made reservations for the following business day only to find out I was charged for the day with no possible refund. I inquired with the manager only to get talked to in a condescending manner. Its not worth it.
