I think itโs been about a year since me and my husband have lived here and we still talk about how much we miss it! Jen was an amazing manager and the staff were so dope, they were happy to help with any maintenance issues and were super friendly to us and our pets, even our cat loved them! They gave us timely notices for any community updates and were easy to get a hold of.Our neighbors kept to themselves, never heard any disturbances, and were very helpful when my cat got out ๐ฅบ amazing people really. Not to mention the apartment was GORGEOUS.Newly refurbished with hardwood floors! The grounds were well maintained and the app for the laundry room was a perk I wish I still had.Very quiet neighborhood but also down the road from base and downtown. The move out was super simple too, they did a walkthrough for any repairs/damages before the movers came and forwarded our security deposit within a month with detailed deductions. It was our first apartment together and definitely set the standard for upcoming landlords when we moved.
I did not live at Anchor Pointe Apartments. My review is specifically on my experience with their community manager, Nadia Maldonado, in my search for an apartment. The housing/rental market in Oak Harbor is extremely competitive. I was in a tough situation where my landlord was selling the house I was renting and I had to find a new place whether it was to rent or buy. I also had a dog which made apartment hunting more challenging. I found a listing for both Anchor Pointe and Villa Marina on Craisgslist and applied to both locations.Nadia was quick to respond about availability and was very knowledgeable, thorough, and honest through her communication both through email and over the phone. I put a deposit down to hold a unit and on the same day, learned that my offer to buy a condo was accepted. I wanted to keep holding the unit until my purchase closed so I would have a backup plan in case something unexpected occurred.Though I did not end up renting at Anchor Pointe Apartments, I would have if I did not purchase a condo. Good, open communication is hard to come by and I really appreciated that with Nadia. Thank you.
Id been apartment hunting for weeks with horrible luck until I found Anchor Point Apartments. Jennifer got me in and made the process quick and easy. She was nice and helpful and clearly cared about the tenants and their homes. It couldnt have gone better. You cant go wrong here.
First off, the apartments pictured above are not accurate, in the specific apartment complex (Anchor Pointe Apartments)!!!My husband and I lived, there for about a year or so. When, we did, there was a transition, from old management to new (soon, after moving into our first apartment together, as adults). Also, about 1yr ago, since.Weve lived in apartments most of our Lives growing up (clearly, we arent new to the apt life). When, we lived here it seemed like a never-ending battle between Neighbors (everything that COULDVE happened), thin walls, and lack of communication/documentation, and action from management (Jennifer Jen). When, we moved into military housing (finally, YES!), I saw a Facebook advertisement, of the apartments, available. I was SHOCKED.. our apartment was NOT even CLOSE to whats being promised.Referring back to our families experience; With, the new management (Jen), she seemed willing to solve some issues, that were under her power, but nothing was done, considerably. There, constant reminder and unnecessary stress, from my husband and I.She had offered, my husband and I, a downstairs-apartment, but nothing ever happened. Then, notice she moved in to the corner downstairs apartment, we had an eye on. Clearly, she was getting work done, that no other tendent had available to their apartment. Like, new cabinets and probably new appliances. Etc.Also, at random, she made an issue, with having our German Shepherd (or come up with $600). Many people in the apartment complex have other bully breeds. I feel, if I had not asked, what I could do to help our situation (all bs did not need to happen tbh), she would not have offered me to have ppwrk (she supplies)/sign a note, from a doctor, to keep my sweet (non agressive) baby girl! Which, I had to call off of work to do (also, completely unnecessary). I have two certified Therapy animals, now.She had admit, that she has a memory loss issue. Probably not, the best fit, for being in charge of something like other individuals housing situations. To add, issues that come with living in an apartment, naturally. Our conversations seem promising, but actions were lost. (Much more nonsense, positive you get the picture).I have even had talks, with corporate (they were super NICE and acknowledged our questions and concerns), about how much was being charged for a move out cleaning service ( And, other current issues, at that time).I know How-to-clean-house. When, I did so, she was still urging to take money from us. She even called me and asked why I called corporate. And just put my family in an awkward situation. Also, with my downstairs neighbors. In the future, families, with pets should be placed downstairs a disclaimer of what to expect living in these apartments. knowingly, how they are made and past comment from residents. I feel, that this needs to be said. I am not a negative person, and I also feel 100% sure certain she doesnt feel guilty being so condescending and fake.I am, speaking out, so that this doesnt happen, again, hopefully.I dont want, this to happen to another good family/decent people. (Especially, with everything happing in the world..spare yourself and chose something better).Save your money and find someone, who will care, that youll have a safe place to sleep, every passing day, peacefully
My husband and I moved here in August 2020 with our chocolate lab and we are so amazingly impressed with our place! We have a one bedroom with beautiful wood floors and pretty up to date appliances. The dog park in the front of the complex is so cute and so easy for a quick walk in the mornings! The property manager, Jen, is an absolute dream and we love her so much! She assisted us in finding our unit when we were still living in NY and constantly kept us up to date on the approval process. She made our cross-country move in the middle of the COVID pandemic totally easy and worth it. She runs a tight ship, but we are so grateful for it, because the complex is clean, well-kept, complete with a cute little fitness center that has a few cardio machines and a cable machine. Our neighbors are all very friendly and most have pets, which is so nice. Would highly recommend this complex to anyone moving to the area - we love Anchor Pointe!
Iโve lived here for almost 6 months now and itโs been great. If weโve had any problems the maintenance people help. Jennifer at the leasing office has been great also! :)
My husband and I have had nothing but a great experience here! Itโs our first apartment and we were so surprised at how nice they are!Weโve had minor issues (that were caused by us) and they were so quick to come and help us out. They have an awesome maintenance crew! The landlord Jennifer is amazing at getting back to you and updating tenants on updates & things going on at the complex. We really appreciate having Anchor Pointe after a rocky military move. (:
Since new management took over, I have seen noticeable changes around the apartments that the previous management failed to deliver, including but not limited to: building a very nice dog park; replacing my non-functioning refrigerator; monitoring cars to ensure I have a parking spot near my apartment, and making serious improvements to the landscaping in the complex. Residents pay a lot to live here, so its good knowing the staff cares about doing a good job and making it a nice place to live. It is also worth mentioning that the people here are respectful; Ive never once felt disturbed by my neighbors in terms of noise.
Jenn the manager does a great job and is very friendly. Maintenance is quick and professional, one of the better complexes Ive stayed in.
I wish we still lived at Anchor Pointe! Everything about that place was great. Our apartment was new and clean, the grounds were immaculate, and the staff was friendly, efficient, and thorough. Not many places in the area have two laundry rooms, a workout center, and a dog park. I would move back to Anchor Pointe in a heartbeat.
This apartment complex has extremely thin walls and you hear everything. The rent when I first moved in was 1200 and by the time I left it jumped up to nearly 1500 (1473). The manager here is not friendly and is extremely condescending (Jennifer Hoover). The apartment was pretty spotless and they tell me I owe 40 for an extremely light cleaning, which consisted primarily of cleaning the inside of an oven. Of course I never got any post pictures because they probably didnt clean it because it was cleaned already but they wanted to charge me for something to keep some money. The NEIDER Company apparently already has an extremely bad reputation. Check out their site and the reviews on there are horrible. DO NOT STAY HERE and save your money and rent elsewhere.
Very happy and pleased with the new management and maintenance here at anchor pointe. 100% improvement within the last two months since you have been here. Extremely happy with the customer service, and friendly attitude. Great communication with resident and office staff. Work orders have been completed promptly which I appreciate. Landscaping looks great! Thank you for all you have done!
The new landlord has been making much needed repairs and improvements that were put off by previous owners. In addition she hired more staff and the outside has never been cleaner. Cant wait to see whats next.
Very happy with this complex and the new landlord. She is very friendly and helpful, plus already she is making improvements to our complex.
The new management is amazing, already had bbq just to meet tenants and even had xfinity there who had soda and chips, a rep to go over bills. The property looks great and getting betterThe manager is quick to respond.
Island Homestead Apartments Oak Harbor Washington APT J104Hello, I just recently moved out and have been dealing with the apartment manager Brian about charges incurred. He stated that since I paid 75$ for basic carpet cleaning from the previous manager that the current management only saw that as light cleaning and any additional stains were then charged onto me. When I moved into the apartment I put that there were stains and dirty flooring but due to the stains listed I got charged. When attempting to understand the threat of increasing to full carpet replace was said as It can be 75$ for carpet cleaning or over 1000$ in carpet replacement. Every time I attempted to explain that the old manager said the carpets can be replaced before move in, and I denied due to not wanting to incur a carpet cleaning cost. He only repeated that the paperwork is all he can follow since the acquisition of the apartment complex. My overall experience of the apartment complex was good until move out in which I could not get a hold of Brian for my move out inspection, until I had to repeatedly knock on the door and call for him to come out of his apartment next to the office. It was his off day and I attempted to call throughout Saturday and Sunday with no avail. The move out was horrible and the unprofessional actions in trying to figure out a solution of incurred cost.I never write reviews or even return food that is wrong from a restaurant, the anger from that place made me write this.Thank You,Gavin Kramer
Itโs a very welcoming neighborhood, with a great landlord. Also staff is helpful and maintenance is efficient.
