Knowledgeable and fast, will be taking all my stuff here from now on!
Service was terrible. Dropped off 2 cylinders for rebuild. It sat there for 2 weeks with no attempt to fix them not even a phone call. I called them 3 times, same answer. He hasnt had time to look at them. I understand they are busy but a courtesy phone call for a follow up would have been great. I picked them up and took them elsewhere. Wont go back there again.
I had a small hand jack rebuilt by AFI 4 months ago. It was for my cab over truck (used to lift the cab.) I paid $272. Seemed like a l lot at the time, but you cant buy this jack anymore, and I thought that it was a good investment vs buying a used one.Well last week I was getting some engine repairs done on the truck (another shop) and they said that the jack was not working. Without the cab jacked up, they couldnt do anything. I had to drive 45 min to go get the truck and bring it back to AFI (another 30 min) to get it fixed. Plus the inconvenience of getting a ride back to my car and the drive home . All this in the middle of my vacation! I assumed the jack was fine, but that one of the rams had seized up. AFI called me the next day and said that it was fixed - they had to rebuild the jack again. They charged me another $346. It was more because they had to remove the jack & reinstall on the truck. I left it on the truck because I assumed that the jack was fine. It takes about 5 minutes to take it off and another 5 minutes to put it back on (I did this the first time.)Apparently they only offer a 30 day warranty, and claimed that it worked for 4 months. I told them that I only jacked the cab up maybe 3 times in that 4 months. When I asked what caused the failure, the tech said that there was a cut in a seal. I maintain that there is no way for a user to cut a seal, you would have to take it apart. Its a very simple hand jack, no way really to use it wrong - other than maybe running it dry or with the wrong fluid. Neither of which are the case here. I suggested that it was cut when they put it together. They told me again that it worked for 4 months. I said that I hope this rebuild will last longer that 4 months! Finally I asked the tech what could be done with the bill and the office manager cried out Just take $50 off already - Im sick of hearing about it! Wow... a crumby $50! So I ended up paying $293.This company has been around a lot longer than the age of anyone (that I saw) working there. With experiences like mine, they wont be around for another 60 years! I know I wont be back!
Great service, great people. i will bring all my cylinder work to them!!!
