Horrible experience with this company !!!!My step daughter split up with her boyfriend.. My wife and I wanted to help her with the transition.. We reserved a unit on line..Supposed promo on a 10x25 unit.. 15% off second month free..While looking over the on-line contract I noticed that on the upper left side of the contract it stated $213.00 per month.. on the right hand side showed the breakdown of the initial price which was correct at $181.05 plus a one time admin fee charge of $24.00 plus a lock $17.99 for a grand total of $224.12..I then called customer service to inquire as to why the upper left side of the agreement stated that the monthly rent amount was $213.00 per month.. A kind gentleman told me that he agreed that the computer system was relatively new and that my wife may want to drive to the storage site and clear up this matter in person.. She tried that on Sunday Sept.20th only to find a sign on the door that no one was working that day.. Sorry for the inconvenience.. as their hour clearly state that they are open on Sundays at 11:00AM.. I then called customer service to find out if we could resolve this on line contract discrepancy of rental amount ON LINE!!I was told again that she should go to Cube Smart on Haggerty Rd.in person to straighten out the issue.I called the day before.. (Thursday).. I spoke to a very respectful and kind woman named Amber.. I said that my wife would be there around 9:30AM to complete the contract.. Then on Friday.. Sept.24th we arrived to complete the rental agreement.. A person named Ron Kidd was at the desk and explained that he was from the Westland office .. he was filling in for Amber.. His demeanor was fine at first.. then he explained that Mary would have to pay $12.00 more per month for Insurance.. At that time both Mary and I were in the office.. He had no problem with us..until I began to question the rationale of forced placed insurance.. when we have home owners insurance which would cover any loss.. and besides that.. we did not want to need insurance nor was that ever disclosed on the on-line agreement (which we have printed out a copy) .. Mr. Kidd then stated that he could not consummate the rental contract unless we bought him a copy of our homeowners insurance.. or provided him with a copy of our homeowners declaration.. which my wife did.. by way of her I-phone..as well as calling our agent and emailed the proof of insurance to Mr. Kidd.. He then became very rude and extremely condescending towards us as we tried to proceed to do business..I then walked out and asked my wife to deal with Mr. Kidd..While I was in the car trying to contact customer service,according to my wife.. Mr. Kidd called his district Manager and went as far to lie to his district manager (Cathy Hall).. which my wife overheard .. him telling her that I was being loud and disrespectful towards him.. when all a was trying to tell him that my wife (Mary) has provided you with the insurance documents that you said you need..He would not accept this !! At that point Mary and I knew that we were dealing with a mean spirited employee.. The real punch line to all of this is that while I was on the phone with customer service trying to get some answers.. The customer service Rep. told me that Mr.Kidds district manager was indeed (Kathy Hall) .The person that he lied to by telling her that I was irrational and disrespectful !!!! What kind of business is this ??The final straw was when he handed my wife her ID back to her and said that his computer was not working anymore !!!! WOW !!!! If that is not bad manners and bad business and terrible behavior towards a paying customer.. Then what is ????? As my wife is my witness to everything that took place today.....She is in AWE..at the way we were treated today !!! as am I..... I expect that the district Manager will most certainly take the story of Mr.Kidd as Gospel.. I an a 65 year old Senior Citizen.. For $12.00.... Shame on you... Shame on Cube Smart for not getting involved on their customers behalf.. I am truly shocked !!

This use to be simply self storage and they did not send anything about name change or even new phone number. Whenever you try to call no one answers or calls you back. I have to redo my card info on file which doesnt make me feel great about my things since I am overseas. And also I agree with other post about the issue that they make you pay for part of the month when moving in but yet you cant get refund for days you dont use when you move out. Thats just bad business smh.

The storage itself is great. My only issue is that over the winter they left huge piles of snow at each end of the rows to where I could not drive through. I also had huge piles in from of my units door and after it melted and refroze I couldnt open the door. My boyfriend plows storage units in the winter and he told he that if this were his sight he would have gotten fired for leaving the snow where people cant get through. Not that its Self Storages fault but who they go through to contract for snow removal should not be allowed to leave it like that.

Best Experience PossibleOn move in I viewed 2 units and had the paperwork complete in 10 minutes. Billing was simple, straight forward and competitively priced. The facility is easy to access and a secure location. Moving out was easy as well. Out of the 4 to 5 storage unit experiences Ive had this was by FAR the best one.

5-Star service all the way. We are in transition between homes, and Amber and Melissa have made this transition much easier with their professionalism, efficiency and competence. The storage units were clean and ready. And the site is very secure and clean. Weve had an excellent experience and would definitely store our belongings here again. Highly recommended.

Great service, staff (Amber) is so friendly and easy to work with. Also had a great deal for the seasonal/ vehicle-storage unit I needed. Very quick paperwork/ processing. Called ahead to confirm they had what I needed, got an immediate call back from Melissa to confirm they had the right size and door opening and made an appointment for me to come in(over the Chrustmas holiday weekend). Unit was clean, ready, door opened easily.

Ive never rented a storage unit until recently... I needed somewhere to store my car for the Winter. After calling around to several local places, I landed here because I had a VERY positive experience with the folks answering the phone and even received a follow-up phone call from the site Id be using (I guess the initial call is a central call center who then forwards your information to the facility you end up at). After BOTH of those conversations, nobody felt it necessary to share with me that there are additional costs beyond just the monthly cost of $x/month for the size of they quoted me. Apparently, there is a $25 move-in fee, which Im not really sure covers (considering I moved myself in, but ok) as well as a required insurance of $10/month. The poor college student working the desk at the facility had no power or control and was very apologetic that I wasnt informed of these costs (hence two stars and not one, he did what he could). He had to email a superior (he couldnt call, I guess) in order to get approval to waive the insurance fee (why would I pay for insurance if Im storing a vehicle and its already insured? and YES each person knew I was storing a car as we explicitly discussed whether or not I should keep my vehicle insured with my provider while stored). Overall, Im very displeased with what appears to me to be predatory practices for new customers and the companys inability to have someone working that could address concerns. It ended up taking more than an hour before I finally got the insurance waived and I STILL paid the move-in fee because I couldnt wait around any more. If considering this business, Id suggest ensuring you ask about ALL possible charges and if your phone quotes include every expense you should expect.

Amber and Melissa are absolutely the best! I love how friendly and helpful they were. They kade sure to keep everything spotless which made me confident that mybstuff would be safe there. They have perfect hours and I dont believe I could have found a better place to store my belongings even if I tried! Greatest customer service I have experienced in a long time! First of all, I want to say that moving sucks! Moving from one state to another sucks even more! Add that to it being one of the coldest winters ever then one has to expect that any and everything that can go wrong?? It did! Oh and of course you need a storage unit because well you have a lot of stuff!! Well Simply Storage to the rescue(s)... because they saved the day several times!! First, Lex, with customer service was an absolute joy to work with! She was very helpful, nice, funny! Next the manager at the location, Amber was my fairy moving godmother!! When I needed storage covers she called and had someone drive them over!! Locks?! Done! When the moving company’s truck broke down (even longer story with my belongings held hostage)?? No problem she would let them in for me the NEXT DAY!! Oh and when it was discovered I may have too much stuff?!!! No problem she switched to a larger unit without me even being there!! People say it’s the little things but it’s also the big things that matter! Moving sucks, you never know how much stuff you have until you move, or think about things going WRONG, but thank you Simply Storage, Amber and Lex for all your help!! So if you need storage big or small simply call Simply Storage..... you won’t be disappointed it’s that simple!

I could not be present at my storage unit when movers arrived. Melissa, from the Novi, MI location went above and beyond to help me with this stressful, emotional transition of moving my stuff from MI to Indiana. She took before and after pictures for me without me even asking when they came to organize it and also when they came to pack and load my stuff a couple weeks after that. She kept in constant contact with me and really treated me like a family member or like it was her own belongings. I honestly dont know what I would have done without her. Their office staff is so accommodating and they really care about their customers. One day I was out there and did not realize I did not lock my unit properly when I left and they called me and said they were doing checks and noticed that my lock was not closed properly. Theyre very lucky to have Melissa. She really cares about peoples lives!!!
