We rent cars from Budget at this location about once per year. Our experience has always been very good. This year Tom was very helpful when we were looking at which vehicle on the lot to take on our vacation. When we were returning the vehicle my wife commented to Tom about a car she saw on the lot. He got the keys and took the time to show us the features on that car. We will definitely continue to rent vehicles from this location.
The customer service of Budget Car Rental in Norwood is excellent. Tom in the front desk is so attentive and accommodating. The price is good too.Update: 11/25/2020 I rented a car several days ago to pick up my daughter from college.The car had some cigarette smell but since I wore the mask so it was okay. I told the same gentleman about the problem when I returned the car without expecting anything. He automatically offered me $20 dollars discount out of my surprise. What a great customer service! And then, I received an Amazon gift card from Budget. It is not a lot of money but it is a very nice gesture to acknowledge the problem from a customer. I have never had a rental company send me a gift card.I always did research before I rent a car. Their price is always better than the other rental company. I will highly recommend Budget Car Rental in Norwood to anyone who needs a car, especially due to COVID 19. I think traveling by car is much safer than air.

I would litterally rate this place a zero if it was possible. I had the worst racist experience upon checking in. I approached the counter to pick up my reserved vehicle. The manager looks at me and say can I help you? Arrogantly, as if I was out of place or something. I informed him I was there to check in and gave him my information he looks at me and says your going to need a credit card as if black people cant have credit in order to be the account holder of a credit card. I said I do and handed him my listen earlier and credit card. I asked him just to confirm the price I said how much will you be charging me at this time and how much is the hold? (Since there’s always 2different answers from the location and the call center) he says it’s going to be about 175.00 for the total rental price and $100.00 hold. I said ok because that was my understanding. I watch him key in my information off my I’d and then swiped my card. I’m just standing there patiently waiting; exhausted hot and super pregnant and swollen. He looks up and says card declined . Im like why would my card delcline that couldn’t be. He swiped it agin then as he’s basically throwing my cards back to me I said hold on a second please I’ll have to check whats going on because that shouldn’t be happening. I asked him to give me a min to call my cc issuer. I spoke with a rep from my cc company and they said he was shipping my card for almost 900.00. So my cc company denied the purchase because for that amount I’d have toapprove it electronically (anywho) I asked why are you swiping my card for that amount. He’s like oh the reservation says you’ll have the car for a few weeks. (1 day reservation 🤨) I said sir it’s only for one day and we just discussed the price. I’m like could you modify that I have no clue why that would have been input that way. He’s like I’m sold out I can’t modify any thing. I’m like but sir how could you be sold out of you have my reservation as supposedly having the car for a few weeks. Which would mean that vehicle is rented to me technically. (I’m really trying to understand why he was giving me a such a hard way to go for no reason) so long story short he goes in and modifying the reservation then he Tells me I’d have to use a different cc if I was going to pay because he swiped my previous card 2x and can’t swipe a card no more then 2x. Then after a family member starts to record what was happening and he most certainly changed his tune. I mean it’s too much to mention but the man legit told me I don’t want to help you because you of your demeanor. (Bs.. because of color) there were people of his color that checked in and out and got the warmest welcome and good service from him before I encountered him. Anywho, he finally modify the reservation to what it was in the first place (I swear he delibertly tired to sabotage my reservation so that he wouldn’t have to rent to me) he ended up chrging me a $200 hold on my cc which was only supposed to have been $100 hold and I ultimately got the vehicle which is great because I would have been out of luck for what I needed and where I needed to be that evening. I’m so upset still that this happened and I will never rent from there again! I litterally drove off thinking I don’t even want this vehicle for what I had to go through to get it and what he put me through for no reason. The guys name was Tom I think. He is the manager. I’m outranges at the racis that still exists and how these people are given little positions of power. I’ve never been treated like that before and I’m just su upset that this was the case for no apparent reason other than the color of my skin.
I went online and got my car and when we went to pick it up everything was all set and basically we were in and out in less than 15 minutes and dropping it off was even easier. We will go back again.
