Honest and trustworthy are the best words to describe these guys. They do the work as quickly as they can but do not do anything halfway. I dont take my familys cars anywhere but here. ( I do wish they could be there on Saturday.) The prices are more than fair and you will never hear a loud voice or see any clutter in the garage. It is clean and so is the work they do. Highly professional shop. I have been recommending them for years and have a bunch of happy friends 🤗 I sent there. Just ask for Brian. I was purchasing a car locally and wanted a mechanic to check it out before I committed. Brian was great, and fit me in last minute to accommodate my spur of the moment request. He showed me what he found, explained a bit about his experience with similar model cars, and was thorough in his review and assessment. He also charged a very reasonable rate for this. If I were local and didnt live in another state, they would get my repeat business. Nice to find good people with great skill and great customer service. The 80 year old I chatted up while waiting has been taking his truck there for years and had nothing but nice things to say about Charlie & Doug Auto Services Inc.

Honest but took them 5 weeks to get a transmission fixed. Terrible communication and absolutely no apology or anything for taking so unbelievably long. Gave some stars bc at least they made sure the part was good.

I have used this business a few times to repair my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Brian is very Professional and honest. They are very reliable and reasonable. If you you looking for great mechanics, look no further.

Drove an hour and a half to an appointment there to inspect a used car I was considering buying, arrived on time, and they had closed early. No note, no call/message, just 3 hours wasted. They probably had an emergency, but sure inconvenienced me.

I was impressed by the fast and efficient service. They saved me more on the repairs than I would have paid at my dealership and completed the work quickly. They fixed a problem that has been bugging me for years and made a regular customer.

The place is spacious

I took my RAV4 there today on very short notice for an air conditioning issue. I was taken immediately, and was kept abreast every step of the way. 10 years ago they serviced my Corolla for an air conditioning issue. No issues then; no issues now! Amazing shop. They fixed my brakes super quickly. They were very “to the point,” which I loved. Called and told me what was wrong with my car and how much it would be. Just very efficient and trustworthy people. I would definitely recommend them and will be coming back for any further maintenance on my car!

Extremely helpful! I brought my car there after I hit a pot hole and was told that it had bit the dust. I knew the end was near, so I had been looking at some other cars (a specific brand). I was given all sorts of great advice on what to ask for as far as work having been done to a car, what years to stay from, etc. so I was very knowledgeable when I went in (which is not a strong point for me). Thanks to them, I did avoid one car that would have cost me almost $1,000 in repairs right out of the gate. Very nice, reliable and trustworthy. They will definitely be the mechanics for my new car!

My Volvo didnt run that great when I left from Norwich, CT yesterday afternoon to head home to Maine. I ended up at Charlie & Doug Auto Service and even if they were busy (less than an hour before closing) one of the guys started up my car and told me that yes it needs to get fixed but the car wouldnt break more if I drove it for a couple of hours to get home. He also offered to order parts and get it fixed the next morning if I didnt feel comfortable driving it. Thank You!

Its a small shop but they are very quick. They called to tell me what was wrong and I have a suburu so they looked at the head gasket. They didnt try to upsell me or anything they just gave me some great advice and I definitely plan on going back when I do replace the head gasket

The one thing I believe we are all looking for when searching for a mechanic, is finding someone you can trust. Charlie and Doug Auto is that mechanic. Our family has been going here for over 25 years, and countless times we have brought a vehicle in, and it turned out to be a completely inexpensive fix. I know many other places that would take the opportunity to gouge you, but not Charlie and Doug Auto. These guys always have everything done when they say they will, and I will never take my vehicle anywhere else.

Highly recommended and trustworthy. Small garage with knowledgeable mechanics. Stop overspending at places like Meineke and Pep Boys. Only drawback is theyre closed on weekends, but trust me, them boys earn their weekends!

I am from Wallingford and driving down 395 going to next appt for my job at ADT. Car suddenly died. Called AAA, didnt know any place to take car too, called Charlie and Dougs, when I arrived all bays full still took car in. Was repaired in an hour and a half, great guys, price was completely reasonable, though they certainly couldve taken advantage. Not their style, wish they were in my area, I would take car no where else EVER! Best car repair experience I ever had! Left happy, when was last time you left a garage happy?Youre crazy if you bring car anywhere else. Will drive up anyway so I can have them service my car. Total trust in them.
