Gary was recommended to me through my plumber, who had seen his work but had not yet met him. I contacted Gary because I wanted him to re-glaze the bathtub in my older home due to chipping and wear. Scheduling was easy. When he arrived, he discovered that my tub had actually been professionally painted. He asked me to consider bringing the tub back to its original color, instead of re-painting it, which would be a huge savings for me. He felt I might be happier in the long run with a bathtub with its original glaze which would never chip in the future. I hesitated at first, since this color bathtub was not at all my original decorating plan, however, when Gary painstakingly removed the old paint, I was convinced as he revealed a bathtub which actually fit in very well with my existing natural-hued tiles. Because my house is craftsman bungalow-style, the earth tones really resonated in this small bathroom. Gary could easily have re-glazed my tub (which is what I had requested) at almost twice the price. By taking his well-reasoned advice, I got a bathroom unique in its personality at a huge savings. When does it ever happen that a home improvement project comes in way under budget? I highly recommend Garys work; the job he did at my house is a testimony to his honesty, craftsmanship and excellent advice.

Gary showed up at my house this week to re-glaze the bathtub white. I am doing a little refresher of the bathroom. When I told him that I was also going to redo the bathroom floor he suggested that I reglaze the bathtub AFTER I redo the floor. This way he doesnt have to come back to make any repairs on it. Then he said that the tiles around the bathtub match the tub now, they were in great condition and why spend the money to change the color of the tub? His advice was to make the other changes in the bathroom first and then see how it all looks together. If I want to change the color of the bathtub, he would come back to do it. Great advice! Gary was a true professional, he showed up early and was honest! I highly recommend him.

I had Gary come to check out some bubbling and peeling on my refinished tub (which the previous owners, not Gary, had done, and done cheaply). Instead of simply trying to upsell me, he agreed to simply remove the covering, and then we could look at the bare porcelain. I was happy enough with it, so we left it as it was—again, he could have told me that it needed to be refinished again, but Gary is so honest and trustworthy that hed never do something like that. I can HIGHLY recommend him!

Gary runs a great service. From the first contact, I felt like I was dealing with an honest and efficient company. He had me send photos of the tub first and gave me an estimate based on what he saw and some questions. Response was immediate and no one wasted time. Gary from Bathtub Rx is a true professional. I received a return call within the hour and after reviewing a few photographs of my tub, I was quoted a very reasonable price for the work. He followed up with clear instructions about what was needed on the day of the work.On the big day, Gary arrived on time and began to prepare the tub for re-surfacing. (My tub had been re-surfaced 25+ years ago by a previous owner and at this point much of the paint had chipped away. It looked terrible.) Garys expert and very thorough prep work revealed an original porcelain tub that was actually in good shape.It is at this point where Garys professionalism and integrity shone through. Instead of continuing the job as originally planned, Gary gave me the option of leaving the old porcelain tub in its natural state at half the cost of the original quote. Wow, this guy is honest, hard working. The old-fashioned work ethic. Saved me money because the whole tub did not need reglazing -- just part of it. So he suggested relazing only the bottom of the tub and not the sides. And he did it seamlessly. My 90 year old tub looks like new!

Excellent experience. I called to schedule a refinishing of my tub. Gary explained that he professionally cleans the tub first (required for a proper refinishing) then I can decide if I’m happy with just the cleaned tub or if I want him to continue to the refinishing. He quoted prices for cleaning only and cleaning with refinishing up front. Turns out a cleaning is all that was needed!! Kudos to Gary for not doing an unnecessary refinishing. Couldn’t be happier! The first two people were trying to sell me on a complete reglazing but based on photos I texted to Gary he could tell immediately that this would not work for the type of tub we have. What a great experience working with Gary, the owner of this company. He responded quickly to my initial inquiry, accommodated my schedule, and arrived right on time. Best of all, he did such an amazing job in cleaning an original 1940s tub, that he didnt need to reglaze. He easily could have just reglazed and charged the full amount, but was very honest and showed me the results after cleaning, leaving it up to me whether to continue with reglazing. I did choose to have a non-skid mat applied, and couldnt be happier with the results. I very highly recommend Gary, both for his skill and his honesty.
