Russ is awesome. He completely saved my Omega Seamaster from any serious water damage. A true expert at his craft and a third generation watch repairman. Every other watch repair place I looked into had mixed reviews, and alarming rates to service a vintage watch. Russ was friendly, upfront, more than fair priced, and used his expertise to completely save something that means so much to me. Places in the city will try and charge you upwards of like $700???? to service a vintage watch. Russ will take care of you, without taking advantage of you. I even stayed in the shop and talked watches with him for an hour afterwards. A true expert at his craft and they are not many left that are like him.

I was in distress when I accidentally banged my watch, and some of the numerical indicators were displaced and just floating in the watch face. I called RK and dropped off my watch, he said the repair was $40. Later on, I came back and picked up my watch, it looked AMAZING! It was as if nothing had ever happened. I was so impressed as to the quick turnaround, value, and service this store has. If you have ANY issues with your watches, you have to come here and get it fixed. The guy that works there is so nice as well, they have my business for life.

Just received my 1939 JARDUR Chronograph watch back from RK Watch Services in Northbrook. What an excellent job. Completely restored and left original to preserve the value. Work was performed as orginally discussed and delivered within the time frame expected. I cant be happier and proud to wear this watch.

Went in to replace my ‘Capacitor’ for my Citizen eco-drive watch. Not only did he agree to replace but the owner asked all about the capacitor to ensure we weren’t replacing an incorrect part. And best part was walk-in service. $10 for capacitor replacement during Christmas holidays. Worth the visit!!

I just came back from a visit to RK Watch Services. One of my lower-end watches was not functioning at all and had a problem with the crown, so the owner (I believe his name is Russ) gave a quick inspection and said to give him 15 minutes. He ended up repairing it in less than 5 minutes! I did not see any noticeable markings on the case, which is a black matte material, so it was clear that he handled the repair very carefully and meticulously. Russ only charged me $10, which I believe is very affordable given the quality of work, even for something this simple. All in all I had a pleasant experience, and I will definitely be coming back in the future.

I tried to adjust a watch link on my new Christopher Ward at home and had some major trouble. One of the bars snapped off and got caught inside the link. Russ did his magic and had the watch in beautiful condition in a couple days. He also gave me a little tour around his office and showed me some rare swiss pieces he was working on. The man a descendant from a hundred years of watchmakers. I trust him blindly with any brand that I own. Plus, you can walk right into his workshop on sight. Transparency is rare these days and Russ has it in droves.

I was crestfallen when my Chronoswiss Tora stopped working. Rostislav Kislyuk, a 3rd generation watchmaker, immediately gave me confidence that my timepiece would be brought back to life. Chronograph time pieces are not watches. They have far more exacting standards. I am very pleased with the service I received from RK Watch Services. Terrible service a couple years ago. Russ did not repair my Omega watch properly; the date does not change and he lost the bezel! He promised to replace the bezel but never did in almost 2 years. Not a man of his words. The watch has been ruined and worthless ever since Russ “serviced” it. I should have sued him in small claims court. I regret for not doing so. Russ is unprofessional and smells like stale cigarettes. I don’t recommend getting your expensive automatic watches repaired here.

I just picked up my 1952 Le Coultre Futermatic. I bought it in non-functioning condition about 7 years ago at a watch show. I took it to a schmancy watch store when I lived in Philadelphia and they sent it away and 2 months later told me that they couldnt fix. Sat in a drawer.After using RK Watch Repair to rehab a Brietling Chrono, I could sense the passion they took in their craft. Idecided to introduce them to my old Le Coultre.RK saw this as a challenge! They located the three parts (including missing parts!) it needed. One part was the last available spring of its kind in the States. The 1952 Futermatic was finally, for the first time, ticking on my wrist in only several weeks.The owners uncle is also a watchmaker and they clearly put their heads together on this one. They made sure I undertood the cost upfront without blind-siding me with a big bill on the back end.I wont hesitate in the future to take my rarer watches there because I know that if they cant do it, they would tell you upfront. I also know that if they cant do it...youre probably in trouble. We are fortunate to have this quality of watch repair on the Northshore of Chicago without having to go downtown or out of state.

Took my Moms favorite clock in a month ago. After not hearing anything I called after 3 weeks and he said he was awaiting a part. I called a couple more times and finally yesterday he said it was done. I went to pick it up today and it was NOT done. Not sure he even looked at it. He said he confused me with someone else. I took the clock to another store to have it repaired and had it back and working in 2 weeks. Very disappointed in this place - especially after all of the other reviews.

Brought in an antique wristwatch that had not run for years. Not only was work done meticulously, and beautifully, but got insights about the watch. Appreciated the work so much that I then brought in two antique pocket watches. I was in need of a reliable and trustworthy master watch maker since me and my husband are into high grade watches. I decided to try out RK Watch services in Northbrook. Russ, the owner, did an amazing job with my Cartier. Then I brought him a much harder project. My husbands Patek Phillipe, the Nautilus, was in 3 different watch repair shops. One watchmaker told me he would need to send it to Switzerland for repair. It would take between 2 to 4 years for the watch to be fixed since the watch was over 80 years old. They had no parts. Finally, I brought this watch to RK Watch services. Within 2 weeks I got a call back that the watch will be ready in a week. I couldnt believe it. When I came to pick up the watch, to my surprise, it was in great condition and it has been working ever since, which has been over a year now. Russ is extremely professional, friendly and knowledgeable. RK Watch services is our family watch repair shop. We will not be going anywhere else. High end watch repair done right! Extremely knowledgeable. I needed my watch battery changed and he water proofed it again within 2 days. I honestly knew nothing about the process but now I know not to wait or the waterproofing could have been compromised. All I can say is unbelievable!! If you need anything done for your watch, these guys can do it. This is not your mall kiosk watch repair shop, they will work on all models of watches, but since they cater to the higher-end models (and it shows) you know you are going to get quality work. I needed a simple watch battery replaced in a mid-end device, he took care of it immediately, and the service was a decent price. If you are trying to figure out where to park and get in, there is a small parking lot in the back with an entrance into the shop also. You will see the store on Waukegan Rd, but you will need to enter via Dundee. Im so happy to find a true watch repair shop thats not affiliated to a jewelry store, where they would just send it out anyway.

I had a 15 year old Tiffany’s watch that needed a new battery. The gentleman took the care to not only change the battery and test the entire piece but cleaned and polished the watch so that it looks like new. Service from a quality watch maker is hard find and RK is top notch. The owner takes pride in his work and the results really show.

I took my watch to RK to get a new battery, get it waterproofed, and cleaned . Russ was great and had the work completed on site in 2 days.This was in sharp contrast to the shop that I had previously used. This previous shop often took more than 3 weeks to get my watch taken care of.I am extremely happy with the work that Russ performed and would highly recommend him to others.

Took my watch there based on the positive reviews. Should have read the negative ones too first. My self winding watch stopped working. The younger guy (the son, I believe) took it apart in a hurry and didnt point out a single thing wrong, but said I needed a $225 tune-up. I declined, and he couldnt get me and my watch out of the store fast enough. Sure enough, that night I hear a rattle. A part had come off inside that watch at best due to his negligence, at worst done on purpose to get me back in. Found an honest shop and had it all fixed for under $70.

I took a what I thought to be better than average vintage Doxa watch to Mr. Kislyuk to have it serviced as I intended to sell it. When he opened the case to inspect it, he told me that the watch must be of a very high quality and that I should research it to make sure I priced it accordingly. I took his advice and found that he was right - that the watch was very high end which I would not have known had it not been for his evaluation. Aside from that, he completed an overhaul of the watch, clearly with great care and expertise. I highly recommend his service.
