When it came time to have a furnace and AC unit installed, I did my due diligence and got 3 quotes, one of which was from DH Berry. When I spoke to Doug, the owner of DH Berry, I immediately felt like I had found what I was looking for. Unlike the other companies, this felt old school, and in a very good way. We spoke on the phone, we agreed on a time for the estimate, he showed up early, and we discussed my needs. After thoroughly inspecting the existing system, he went back to his shop, hand wrote an estimate that included Good, Better, and Best options, and drove back to my house to deliver and discuss the estimate. This was true personalized service - no computers or tablets needed. What he offered was exceptional service at a fair price, and in my opinion, thats what we should all be asking for.As for the installation, his crew of two (Eric and Steve) showed up on time and worked non-stop for 2 days. It was clear that they took pride in their work and never took shortcuts. Upon completion, Steve stood proudly next to the furnace and asked, Well, what do you think?. I let him know that I thought the work was amazing. They made sure to test everything before they left and answered any final questions to ensure that I was fully satisfied with the work. I was.Based on my experience with the entire process, I highly recommend DH Berry for all of your HVAC needs. Dont waste your time with anyone else. They are the best.

They are a super nice team of guys who installed a Mitsubishi mini-split system in my home. The units are performing exactly as Doug said they would. I have roughly 1500 square feet in my ranch home and 3 wall units keep it nice a cool. Eric and Steve have installed over a 100 of these systems and make it look easy. If you are considering one of these systems I highly recommend DH Berry.

We can’t say enough about our experience dealing with Doug and his crew. Being new to North Tonawanda we wanted to support local businesses. Moving into a 90 year old home with radiators during the warmest July on record we called DH Berry to come and assess the situation as the house was unlivable. Doug quickly responded and although we had to wait for materials and supplies due to Covid the job was installed as promised. The installation was challenging but thanks to the expertise of Eric and Steve it turned out way beyond our expectations. They were professional, courteous and conscientious. I had a great experience with this company. Doug came to my home and gave me a quoted price for a new furnace and Central AC. He also did an energy assessment. Steve and Eric were the installation technicians. They did a fantastic job of getting the old system out and the new system installed. They did a wrap on the ducts rebuilt the cold air return. They even rearranged the ducts in the basement to allow for pressurization and better air flow. To top it all off, new diffusers were added. I am very confident that I will be comfortable in my home year round. I highly recommend this company.

My experience using D. H. Berry for a fairly substantial residential project was exceptional! I highly recommend them for your project!I learned about Doug (D. H. Berry) from a referral by our basement contractor. Based on that, I got a quote from D. H. Berry and three well-known HVAC companies in the southtowns (Hamburg/OP) for a project that involved moving our furnace and hot water heater about 20 feet from the center of the house to one side (to create a large open space for a finished basement), coming up with a solution to provide more hot water for our family of six, and making sure we future proof.Doug gave it a lot of thought, came up with a solution that seemed the most efficient (to my mind) and he came in right in the middle on pricing.Steve and Eric did the work: they installed a new Rheem 75gal water heater and a new Rheem 85K BTU furnace with 1/2hpwr blower. They also installed both units 20 feet over from where the original units stoodThere was a lot of duct work, resizing of main trunk, upgrading of exhaust piping, and other work that needed to be done, and everything turned out beautifully. This was a full 4 day job.I also hired Doug and his team to return a few weeks later to run an additional cold air return and a few vent runs in the basement after framing was complete on that project (ducts run down to floor rather than just in ceiling). Again, the work was exceptional.This was one full day job, with an initial visit to make sure they had the right materials.Additional thoughts:First, while Doug and the other companies said it would not be a problem, I had reservations about moving the furnace from the center of the house. My reservations were not warranted, however, as the bigger blower and resized trunk line provides more CFM out of all my ducts than ever before. In retrospect, this was a no-brainer and I should have done it earlier.Second, moving the water heater extends the time it takes to get hot water to my second-floor fixtures. It’s not a huge deal, but I’ll be looking closely at installing an under-the-sink hot water recirculating pump in the near future. I asked Doug and his team if they would install one on the water heater, but they were reluctant as they hadn’t had good luck with them. They told me to ask a plumber for a second opinion. Again, I appreciated the honestly.Third, the flammable vapor sensor (FVS) on the Rheem water heater has poor quality control. You can read about this several places online. Steve and Eric had a sensor go bad right after the initial install, and then the second sensor went out about a week later – I didn’t love finding this out at a 5am shower. Doug came out that same day to install another new sensor and also give me a new backup. Since we are in the southtowns and typically not in Doug’s service area, the same day response was greatly appreciated.Fourth, my only real complaint is that I got charged $120 to run a new thermostat wire (5-wire). This literally took Eric 5 minutes (I was with him when he did it). I understand it’s just a standard charge (I actually didn’t say anything to Doug about it) and we lucked out on how easy it was to drop the wire to the basement without drilling or having to fuss with the wire, but that is a line-item cost I would like to see decrease substantially.So … it’s been about three and a half weeks since Doug came to replace the water heater sensor (about 4 since installation) and the new units have been working flawlessly.Highly recommend D. H. Berry – I’ll be using them for major HVAC projects I have in the future (like upgrading my A/C unit)!

Recently had a furnace tune up, to be ready for winter. The company contacted me before arriving to let me know who would be doing the tune up. Steve was very professional, explained what he would be doing and approximately how long it should take. Did a great job, even gave me a few tips for more efficient use of my heating system. Cleaned up any mess and said to call if I had any questions or issues with the furnace. Would highly recommend this company. Thanks for a great job!!

Sorry but completely unprofessional. We had an appointment set for today at 11:00AM. It is now 12:40PM and they are a no call no show. If they cant make an appointment for an install on a new heating and cooling system or at the very least call to say they ar e going to be late or cant make it, I wouldnt trust them to show up for an install appointment either. So glad that time was arranged off from work to have this company come in.
