We have been taking our vehicles to Frank’s Auto for over 15 years. We have had numerous work done by their shop on all types of vehicles including a Jaguar and we have never experienced any problem. They are knowledgeable, affordable and honest. The reason we will always go to them and believe what they say. My brother worked for NASCAR and my Dad was a fabulous mechanic. We had a problem with our ABS controller and after trying the Toyota steelership first, and realizing they just wanted me to buy a new car, Franks Auto was referred to me.The service was great, they were able to get us in in a reasonable time frame and they were cheaper, obviously, then the steelership.Or easy to work with and provided a great service.

Very honest mechanic! When they couldnt fix my sons speedometer they didnt charge us for any of the work. They are very fair and upfront about any charges.

Edit: Im confused at the owner response. I replaced the tires a month ago. The noise was there on the old All-Season tires. And its here on the new All-terrain tires. I WAS TOLD that my mud tires were cupping due to bad suspension. When she told me this, my honest to God response was confusion. I even had her double check that it was the right vehicle. I was not told that there was nothing wrong. Additionally I do not have mud tires, I have A/T tires and the suspension is only one year old. I even told the lady at the front desk that Ill take my truck back to where I got the tires to have them check it out. She said that would be a good idea.I took the car to where I purchased the tires and they told me the tires were not cupping and that the suspension was fine. They were able to sort out the noise to being a wheel bearing going out on the drivers side. They advised me that I can leave it for now and just get it replaced when it gets louder.Thank you for looking at my car for free. I really appreciate it, but at the end of the day the diagnosis I received as a customer was wrong and made no sense. Thats why I left a bad review.Took my car in to have a noise diagnosed. Was told my brand new tires were cupping and that my 1yr old suspension had gone bad. I took my car to a different shop and they found no cupping on the tires and said the suspension was still in great shape. They find the noise to be a wheel bearing going out. I had high hopes for franks as I was trying to find a new local go-to place, but after this I cant trust their diagnostic skills.

Took my 2000 Galant here for an oil change. These guys did a great job and were priced fairly. They sent me a report on the condition of my car with recommended repairs. Im glad I know the condition of my vehicle and what to expect. Will be returning for repairs needed soon.

Dishonest business practices. Quoted me $450 to change out a seal. 9 hours after i dropped my vehicle off, got called saying it was going to cost $1000. And the kicker is nothing they wanted to do had anything to do with the seal that needed to be changed. They kept on telling me that didnt want to waste my money, but tried charging over double their quoted price. Horrible experience.

My husband and I have been using this business for all of our vehicles for the past 13 years. Everyone is professional, honest, and very knowledgeable about every aspect of a car, SUV, or truck. We tend to run our vehicles until they die and it is because of Sean, Matt, and their assistants that we are able to do so. Shaylee,the office manager is always polite, and quick to help, whether it means getting a tow truck out to us, or answering questions about repairs and costs. The girl who took my call was bright, friendly, and professional. She got me set up for an appointment and they got my car in quickly.I left a long list of issues I had with my car in a note. They were respectful of my request to do an inspection and call me before starting any work (unlike another shop in the area that took my tires completely off and tried to sell me brakes that they had already done 4 months prior when all I asked for was an oil change. **Midas**)They did the inspection and emailed me a link with comprehensive information. It beautifully shows all the information about their inspection and discovery.When I called to go over the results the receptionist already knew my information and spoke intelligently about what was needed and when and what I could wait on. She was able to give me multiple numbers based on what I wanted to work on and what I wanted to wait on.Over-all I had a great experience and will be taking my car there for all my future repairs.

My family and I have come here with most of our vehicles to do either basic maintenance or solve an issue with the car. Its always been a great experience with friendly staff. I never felt like I was paying too much for something and that they work hard to fix it before having to replace anything.

I drive an 04 thats began to have pretty regular issues from engine trouble to transmission to suspension. Ive had it in a number of shops in the Ogden area and Franks is hands down the best. They are honest and do quality work. They are up front with the cost as well as what repairs are urgent/can wait.After one repair I still had some trouble so I went back by and they honored the warranty 100% no questions asked and had me back on the road.All in all if you want to actually get your car fixed and not empty your wallet, go to Franks.

Absolutely worst customer services by the lady up front. So rude to my wife and me. They literally didn’t even put back on a belt and skid plate and fan, I started to drive off and decided to check under the hood and realized that the fan, fan shroud, ac belt and skid plate were not there. They couldn’t even find our parts in their shop. Had to call back and call back. I would not take anything there if your looking for a professional job. The “mechanic” was probably 20 years old and forgot to put on 2 different bolts to the AC unit. What a joke. And I’m not one to ever leave a review. The lady up front was the worst. Had no idea about anything that was going on, super rude and snappy.

I doubt we’ll take our cars anywhere else now that we’ve had two of our current cars in there this last month or so. The communication is the best we’ve had from any service, cars or other. The quotes were good, never exceeded, and repairs extremely timely and thorough. (They broke the adage, “you can have it fast, cheap, or good, pick one.“)We were especially happy that they didn’t shy away from working on our ‘07 Subaru. It ended up needing some major work, and now it runs better than it did when we bought it (used). Well worth fixing.Our Dodge Ram is an oldie but goodie. We were a bit worried when the check engine light popped on and it started a shaking and rattling thing that caused us more than a little stress. Two days in the shop and it’s running great again, and affordably, too.We are much more comfortable driving older cars now that we’ve found Frank’s Auto and their warrantees work. Thank you tons!! Took my car in for brake issues. They scheduled me quickly, checked all my brakes and called to tell me that my brakes were still in good shape. Most shops would just replace and charge me for new brakes. I was so impressed! They told me since the state no longer requires safety tests, the check brakes free of charge. I can keep driving safely and will definitely go back when I actually do need new brakes

Great service all around. It started off with Shaylee and her customer service. She was very helpful over the phone and gave me her honest opinion. Through this whole pandemic, they really have things squared away. Thanks to the mechanics for also giving me an honest opinion on my vehicle and what needed to be fixed before my long trip. I had a pre-trip check done for a great price and they send you pictures & notes on what needs attention, etc.I wish I wouldve found you guys when I first moved to UT but hopefully Ill be back to Ogden in the near future. I had what I thought was my starter go out and I took it to franks auto because of good things I had heard. They did confirm that it was my starter that had gone out and it would be $500 to replace it. I decided to shop around and I got quotes a lot lower than $500 from other local shops. They were nice enough to try and find a lower price but the best they could do was $450. I ended up buying the part myself and replacing it myself and it only took about 20 minutes when they were going to charge me $105 for the labor portion of the repair.The part that was frustrating was that I had to pay $140 to have it diagnosed which seems quite steep in my opinion especially when it probably took them a very minimal amount of time to diagnose it.The good things were that they were very prompt to respond and very friendly. Like I said they were willing to work the price down but was a little frustrating they didn’t offer that in the first place.

I spent over three thousand dollars change the starter three times finally took it to another mechanic who changed the used starter they put in told me it was new at the end it cost me an other twenty six hundred dollars to have my car fixe if i knew i would have buy a new one the sad part is i trusted them

I took my 2004 Chevy Tahoe in to have the CV joints checked and the hoses. They called me that afternoon and said they could find nothing wrong, but I needed a couple of maintenance things done in the next 4 to 5 months. They didnt charge me for looking at it! I will take it in in September for maintenance. Very friendly too.

We have been using Franks Auto for several years, and as a native Detroiter, I can tell you they are the BEST crew of automotive experts I have ever encountered. Heck, even their office manager (Shaylee) is very knowledgeable in all things automotive and gives every customer all of the time and answers they need to make the best decision for their vehicle. I tend to have my vehicles for as long as possible and my 2003 CRV alone owes most of its 250K miles to the great care from Franks. Even when my radiator blew on 12th street in Ogden (on a Sunday no less!), Sean had the towing company they use go and pick it up so that I didnt have to worry. My husband and I joke that we will have to retire here in Utah because I doubt we would ever find better automotive care.

I was excited to hear that Franks Auto was able to work on my Chevy Volt. Almost all other local mechanics told me there were unwilling to. Unfortunately, after 10 hours of diagnosis, Sean and his team were unable to root-cause the problem that is most likely computer related. Because they were unable to help me, Sean did not charge me for the labor. I will use/refer Franks Auto in the future.

I won’t trust my vehicle with anybody else than Franks Auto Inc.! They are great to work with from start to finish. Shaylie in the front office is personable and knowledgeable about the business. Shaylie fits me in the schedule quickly and is always helpful in shuttling me to my house when I drop off my vehicle at the shop. Matt is an expert mechanic that has worked on my vehicle many times. I have had good experiences with Franks Auto on a few jobs that I dont do myself. I trust them to do good work and to know what they are talking about. That said, they seem to be a fair bit more expensive than other good quality shops. The difference is significant enough that I usually choose to take my vehicles elsewhere. Its too bad, because this would probably be my first choice shop otherwise.

My Audi was jerking while I was trying to keep a constant speed when the engine was cold. I took it to Franks cause the people there are really nice. We thought we had it fixed by closing a leak I had, but it only lessened the jerking. They replaced my intake system with a used one they had on hand for no extra charge including no charge for the installation of the new intake system. The folks at Franks auto are always great. They give me a ride to and from their location if I need it and they always make sure Im taken care of. I wouldnt trust my Audi to anyone else in the area and I love supporting them.

Took my G6 in about a month ago for a leaking and whining power steering pump. They confirmed the pump was leaking and replaced it free of charge because it was still under warranty. I picked the car up after hours. When I got the car back the pump was whining worse then when it was dropped off and the car was not put back together. The oil filler cap was loose, the plastic engine cover was missing and I had to go back later and get it, and the engine was a mess. Power steering fluid all over the engine block, pump, and all the pulleys causing the car to smoke horrifically. When I addressed the issue I was told that It has never happened before, even though when they did the original work over a year ago they left the engine almost in the same condition. As for the whining pump the mechanic told me the manufacturer told me that I needed to drive the car for 200 miles and if it didnt stop to bring it back in. During the 200 miles the pump did not stop whining and the car was leaking fluid faster then when I took it in. They told me to bring it back in. After they looked at it a second time, they told me the joints between the hard lines and rubber lines on the return line were sucking air and causing the pump to over flow. When I had brought up the fact that those joints and lines had to be manipulated and moved during the pump removal and re installation, I was told they did not have a crystal ball to determine if they caused the new leak. The high pressure line was not even routed back in the correct place and now comes off the pump almost 90 degrees off from where it should be and the return can not go where it is supposed to be because of this. The most interesting thing about them denying that they caused this is that when I got the car back the first time they had added a hose clamp to one of the joints that is leaking.....but never mentioned anything about it to me, even after I mentioned it was still leaking. In the end they told me I was responsible to pay them to fix the newly acquired leak, so I picked the car up and decided they will not touch my car again. When I was repairing these lines myself this weekend I found a wrench that had be dropped into the engine and was almost touching a pulley.......Franks Auto will never be touching any of my cars again. Extremely dishonest and unwilling to even discuss the possibility that they caused the leak.Reply to owner comment:They offered to CLEAN the engine, not fix what they broke, or even admit that it was possible they did it.

All I needed was an emissions test, but I was able to make an appointment so was in and out within about 15 minutes. Always great service, and great people to interact with.

During a recent winter storm, I slid into a snow bank a little down the road from Franks Auto. The owner came to help me and ended up towing my car out of the snow bank (the whole front bumper came off completely), inspecting it, and fixing it. I have never met a nicer crew of workers or a nicer guy than the owner. Not only did he make my car look good as new, he also gave me a great deal. I will now go to Franks every time my car needs any maintenance. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Honestly, one of the friendliest and most professional shops that i have ever been to. They found the issue quickly and fixed it for next to nothing. Dont let the fact that this is a small shop deter you. Sean and his family have earned a customer for as long as I live in the area.

Franks auto has been there for me for over 22 yrs. I have always had the very best service from them. I dont take my vehicles any where else. Their prices are very fair and very competitive. Sean is a very great guy and his employees are always very nice.

Super friendly and honest people. Brought my car in for an overheating problem. They got a ton of details from me, asked good easy to answer questions, and made me feel comfortable. When they were done with their diagnostic they explained everything they did and what the results meant. They even gave me a printout of the test.Would suggest arranging to get picked up by someone while they work. There is no waiting room, except for a couple of chairs next to the reception desk in the tiny front room. There is also nothing to do within walking distance to pass time.

I have used Franks Auto since I was 16, my father has used this shop since it opened in 1984. Ive been more than happy to take all of my cars there for everything!! Ive gotten nothing but excellent service from them. It is nice to know that there is an honest, hardworking shop out there that wont screw you over. I drive out of my way to have Franks Auto work on my cars. The mechanics are very knowledgeable and the staff gives me a lot of information. We had a weird short in one of the doors of the car, and Franks was the only place that could figure it out.

Surprise. I was really happy with them from my initial contact through to the report on their work checking on the condition of a vehicle I was considering purchasing. It was two weeks later when I went to register my new (to me) vehicle that I discovered that the brakes I was assured had 6-8 months left were actually worn to the point of not passing the safety check. It just left me wondering what else might have been missed in the complete checkup for which I paid $100. I think this was a honest mistake on their part... as that seems a good guess for my back brakes... but I thought they would check all four wheels before assuring me I had months of brake wear left.

Best service received in a long time! They were very attentive to all my needs and were very quick to get my vehicle in and out. Really felt like a family-oriented environment; they were willing and able to help me with even the little things that needed to be done. Definitely will be returning.

She is expert at explaining what needs to be done in a way that accurately describes the problem but is understandable; she can accurately give time and cost estimates and has never pressured us but instead has fully allowed us to make our own maintenance decisions while clearly explaining our options.

The best in the business for thorough, quality work...Franks Auto has been our go to mechanic for 30 years starting with Frank, Seans dad. Sean has faithfully followed in his fathers footsteps providing great work and standing behind it. On the very few occasions when there have been related problems Sean and crew have stood behind their work 100% to make things right. They go the extra mile. Even when we had car problems and were stranded in Chicago, Sean got on the phone and helped us verify the Chicago mechanics diagnosis and then helped us negotiate a fair price.

Theyre one of the very few places around that do safety inspections for motorcycles. No appointment was needed. Not to mention the staff was friendly and fast. Definitely going to remember them next time I need safety in a pinch.

Over the last several years, Shawn and his team have repaired, replaced or rebuilt something from every part of our familys vehicles. My wife trusts him completely and we really appreciate how he stands behind his work with a warranty and quick response. The shop is clean and organized, something I have not seen in many family owned shops. Most recently they helped me get my truck passed on emissions and safety inspection, when the technician found a bulb that was not lit, he replaced it, no charge!We drive past no less than 30 auto shops between Roy and North Ogden to take our cars to them and we recommend them to our friends.

Not too excited about my experience here. I was having problems with my car and brought it in. They suggested an oil change and a diagnosis. I had switched out the oil only two weeks before so I didnt really want to pay for it again, but they thought it would help. It didnt help, and in their diagnosis they found out they didnt have the tools to fix it. So in total I spent $230 and have nothing to show for it. I took my car to the dealership where they are running their own diagnosis. I realize Franks did what they could, but it still sucks to have $230 go down the drain and their prices are pretty steep.

On Friday May 31 I called Franks to see if he could squeeze my car in for an emissions inspection. He said bring it on in and Ill see if I can fit you in! I got there a half hour before they closed and he got my car right in and got it done! He even did the on the spot renewal for me! Franks has amazing customer service and has always gone above and beyond any other shop I have visited.

Franks Auto is quite a drive from Syracuse being all the way in North Ogden. But the drive is worth the service you get. They are honest hard working guys who do not take people for a ride. They have always treated me and my family right. Auto repair shops can be scary becasue the cost and for me it is the unknown, if you are like me and not familiar with the mechanics of my car, they explain the problem and cost. Then when they do the repairs, I always have my car back in a timely manner. Franks auto might be a little out of the way for you but is worth checking out!!

So i dont usually write these types of things but i feel like if there was ever a shop that could tell the world about its franks auto, i have referred many people to them and i have had all of them tell me that they loved the service and the honesty that they get when they go in, most places will try and sell you anything that they can squeeze out of you but franks will only sell you what your car needs to stay safe on the road. my advise choose franks!

Love it. So friendly. I had to drop my car off but had no way back home so they drove me home and called me the next day when it was done.

I have been using Sean at Franks Auto for nearly 2 decades now. There is no other mechanic that Im willing to pay for work. Sean is fair, and thorough. he lets me know my options for things that can be fixed without trying to up-sell me on anything. Its always comfortable and fair. Im very glad to have met Sean when I did and continue to use his shop even though we have moved to south layton.

Franks is one of, if not the best auto shop around! Ive always had a great experience here and Sean and his team do a great job! Honest and quality work.
