Captain Dan was awesome. And First Mate Cross was incredible. Very family friendly and we caught a ton of fish. Will be back for sure.

Capt Ronnie and Mate Cross are awesome. We did the Gulf Stream trip and had a blast. We had a scare that the storm would cancel or cut the trip short and Ronnie kept in contact as we were able to make it out for the whole trip. Ronnie put us on the fish and Cross was kept busy. It was nonstop action. They are down to earth guys that know what they are doing and made the trip entertaining. I highly recommend Fish Hook Charters!

I booked the trip for myself, my husband, and two grandsons (13 and 9) for 1pm to 6 pm. I got a call the morning of the trip and was told they had a no show and asked if we wanted to come early. So we got onboard at 10 am. Capt. Don and 1st Mate Cross were very informative and real sweethearts. If I ever come to Myrtle Beach again, I will be sure to look these guys up. We also caught about 30 Spanish Mackerel and 3 sharks, one of which was a keeper. Thanks again guys for a wonderful memory with the grandsons.

We had the most beautiful day out with Fish Hook Charters. Captain Ronnie and his son (first Mate Caleb ) did a spectacular job listening to what the kids really wanted from their experience. Captain Ronnie and Parker were wonderful on our evening fishing trip. Captain Ronnie worked us into his busy schedule after inclement weather canceled our scheduled trip. He had warned us the water may be a bit choppy but with our vacation coming to an end we decided to take our chances and we are so glad that we did! He moved us to where fish were biting and we ended up catching an assortment of things but best of all we caught 7 sharks! If we come back to Myrtle Beach we will definately look up Captain Ronnie again! And Parker literally got off one charter cleaned some fish foe those people and hopped on with us. He was a pleasure and a hard worker. When we were done he scrubbed down the boat and all the poles for the next days trips. I would definitely recommend a trip with Fish Hook Charters!

My wife and I booked a 5 hr trip with captain Anson. These guys are the real deal. We are new to deep sea charters and saltwater fishing. That being said we learned a ton from captain Anson in a short amount of time. With in hours we were trolling catching Spanish mackerel and small tuna. We were doing the fishing reeling in, pulling them on board and pulling them off the hook. Then we were offered a choice do more small fishing or go after a large shark. We went with the large shark. Anson set us up and we got hooked up with only 2 minutes left on our 5 hours. I fought a 5ft black tip reef shark for 40 min, Anson gafted him and got him a third above the rail when he rolled loose and got off. Hey that’s fishing. Way more than I expected to experience. I will be back for another try! Book these guys they are in it for you not for your money!

This charter was amazing! My family and I had the best time and made lasting memories! Captain Ron and Cross were the best! Very personable and made us feel like pros! We took our kids, ages 6- 18 and they all had some action! We caught sharks and fish and came home with some good eats! Thanks again! We will be back! Absolutely the worst charter I’ve ever been on and have charted for boats for many years from the Great Lakes to Virginia Beach to Florida.First we drive 8 hours for a12 hour offshore trip that was planned for a couple months about a half hour after arrival we get a call from Capt.Ron saying he can’t do the offshore trip he says that the water is rough and it’s going to be hot.Hot it’s Myrtle Beach in July.So the next morning we arrive for our trip from 6:00am-1:00pm cut our trip short we were back at the dock at 11:23 an 1:37 minutes short.We caught 2 Spanish Mackerel and a few Black Sea Bass that were under size for us to keep by law needed to be released but they kept to use as cut bait on another trip.The captain said let’s go try to catch a shark but we didn’t have bait for shark fishing so we waited for another boat to come and throw us a trash bag with bait in it who goes fishing without bait.After fishing we went to Calabash for dinner as we were eating the boats there started coming in boats that went offshore and caught nice fish and said it was not that bad out there.So here’s the deal SAVE YOUR MONEY DON’T GO. And if you are from the 304 he likes taking our money he said so.Also have pictures of the sea bass in basket.

Captain Ronnie was very helpful in rescheduling a trip that got canceled. Captain Scott was great to go with and Carson was a huge help while fishing. Will definitely go back here next time i am in town.

Planning our Myrtle Beach vacation off shore fishing is something I’ve always wanted to do, there are so many options I looked at reviews and options for multiple companies before choosing Fish Hook Charters.Captain Ronnie met us on the dock and introduced us to our Captain Anson and first mate, we were told weather day before was pretty rough and conditions were below average but they’d do their best to get us on some fish.We did a 5 hour morning trip and Captain Anson did a great job ensuring we were made aware of conditions, what to expect, and sight seeing as we headed out to deeper water.First spot we did some bottom fishing and in minutes we were reeling in Sea Bass and an Atlantic Shark. Next we moved in closer to a new spot to get after some more sharks and we caught two more Atlantic Sharks which my kids loved the fight.Hands down we are extremely satisfied with our experience and Fish Hook along with Captain Anson would be our go to for another trip!!

My husband and I went out with Captain Ron and Cross... Had a BLAST! The boat has 6 people total, and we had ample time to fish. Both Cross and Ron had a great personality and made it an incredibly fun day catching mackerel, shark and bass!!!

Took my 16 y.o. soon out. We were scheduled for a morning trip but there were some cancelations the night before and not enough people to go out so we ended up on an afternoon trip.Andrew drove the boat and Cody, very personable, made sure everyone was comfortable and that we all got a chance to reel in fish. Our boat caught several Spanish mackerel that people could take home to cook up and 4 sharks.We had a great time and when I move down this way I will be back!

Had a 9 hr. Trip today with captain Anson and mate Stacy today. We went 18 miles out in pretty rough seas but we grinded it out and the captain and mate put us on some decent fishing. Great work by both of them. Nice boat. Friendly service. Great time!! Hats off to the Captain and Mate on the way in we got a call from a disabled charter captain 8 miles out and we went and towed them into shore with us. Although It put us behind getting back to the dock it was the right thing to do!!! Highly recommend these guys !

Had a great morning out on Fish Hook with Captain Dan and Cross. Caught our limit on mackerel in 2 hours and then got our sharks. We did a lot of catching today. I don’t know this is a typical day but we had a blast and would highly recommend fish hook charters.

Cross done a excellent job cleaning our fish to so you wont have to worry about cleaning your catch ....so if you decide to get a charter I highly recommend these guys and be ready because the action is fast ...the boat was very clean with a restroom and nice seating on the boat .

Captain Ron, First Mate Cross, and Ty (training) were all AWESOME!!!! Captain Ron knew all the spots to fish to have a good time. Each trip is different and depends on what you want to fish for. First Mate Cross and Ty took care of all of our fishing needs. We pulled up 2 fish at a time, they unhooked, and rebaited (if need) and down to catch more. We caught our boat limit for sea bass.We will definitely book with them again

Had an amazing time with my father and my boys on our first ocean fishing charter and that was all due to Captain Anson and his mate Stacie, thank you gentlemen! Captain Anson knew and wasted no time to get us catching them up! Stacie is a true professional and knows his craft as one! Always had the rods at the ready and encouraging with great tips on how to landing the fish. This fishermen duo are awesome never treating us like the newbys we are, very knowledgeable and genuine on wanting there guests to have a great time on the water! We booked a private charter on the Fish Hook 3. There were 4 of us fishing and we had a great time. Captain Richard and First mate Stacey couldnt do more for us. They were friendly and worked hard to ensure we had a good time. The boat was nice and spacious. We never felt crowded or had lines cross. I highly recommend them. We ended up catching 2 Atlantic sharpnose sharks. They fileted them and told us how to cook them. We grilled them up that night and really enjoyed it. If we ever come back down to Myrtle Beach we definitely plan on doing another charter with them.

By far the best fishing experience of my life!! Captian Ronnie and his first mate Cross were just incrdible. They were very welcoming, accomodating, helpful, knowledgable, and eager to help us slay some fish. We caught at every stop we made!! We caught King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Black Sea Bass, Yellow Sea Bass, and Black Nose Sharks!!!They knew exactly where to go and what to do to set us up for success. We paid for a private charter for 6 of us which included my wife, 3 kids, mother in law and self. Not a single one of us had any issues.Huge shout out to Cross!!! come on man, for a green horn, you crushed it. J/K boat humor. But really you did a great job and took wonderful care of us. Your skills at filleting were superb as well.I highly recommend and encourage anyone that is looking to book an eventful and successful charter to look up and book with these guys. You will not be disappointed!

Ive fished with many different charter companies over the last 10 years, they are by far the worst. Dont waste your time or your money.

We had the best time with Captain Dan and first mate Cody. Captain Dan knew how to find the fish and his Mate Cody knew how to rig the rod & reels for catching them. He taught us to allow the sharks to eat first then set the hook. We kept him busy when catching the Mackerels. It was a constant fish on for a good while and he stayed steady at it.Captain Dan checked the size of what we were catching to see if he needed to change locations. He took the time to have conversation with us, to make sure we were having a good time.Captain put the boat in idle at one point to help rig when we were catching to fast for one to keep up with. He wanted to make sure we all had a rod available.Cody cleaned, and bagged the fish up for us when we returned.It was an awesome trip and will definitely return.I was also impressed that the rod & reels were cleaned on the trip back. Not just rinsed off but soap & water the rinsed. The boat and sides were also scrubbed and rinsed down on our the way back in.The boat could use some aesthetic maintenance but it served the purpose and the fish didnt really care.Thanks for an awesome trip Captain Dan and First Mate Cody.Steve & Pat Spencer

First time ocean fishing and was a great time! Fished with Capt Dan and Cody. It was a half day shared trip We caught Spanish Mackerel and Shark. Capt Dan and Cody were great; very knowledgeable and personable. Both were very good with the kids (9 & 11). They answered the endless questions from the kids with no problem. Price was extremely reasonable for the time and experience. We will definitely be going again and would recommend it especially first timers!

We went fishing with Capt. Dan and Cross for our 10 year anniversary. We could not have asked for a better trip, or for to better guys to take us out.

Can sum it up with one statement. 10 foot shark!! By far one of the best fishing charters we have been on. Capt. Ronnie knew exactly where the fish were and were to go to hook that shark. First mate Cross was top notch and knew his stuff. Had 4 rod out for my son and i at all times and there was never a dull moment. Boat was also great, plenty of shade which is a must during this time of year.Aside from the big shark, we also caught two 3 footers and about 30 mackerel.Great experience and we will definitely be back next time in myrtle.

Fish Hook Charters and Capt Ronnie are the real deal! He has over 25 years of experience fishing in the local waters, so no matter what time of the year, You are going to catch something! You can take a half or whole day trip. We took a half day trip, however I want to take a full day in hopes I can fill up my freezer. You will not regret, taking this fish charter with Ronnie!

Had a great time on this charter today. Cross, our deckhand was awesome! He was very helpful and knowledgeable. He took care of getting us set up and baited...so we could enjoy the fishing.The ride can get very choppy so if you get seasick, make sure you take Dramamine before the trip.This was our first time out on East Coast waters and did a quick half-day. We normally fish the West Coast charters. A bit different, but it was definitely fun! We will be back and do the offshore next time.Thanks again! 😁

We went in the 9hr trip today. 7/5/20 We honestly had a ball. The Captain (Ronnie) and the mate (Cross) was so good even though fish did have a really bad case of lock jaw they kept there composure and class around the ladies. And did everything to make sure we came home with enough fresh fish. At last for a couple meals. We will definitely be rescheduling a trip to go with them again. Maybe this fall when it cools down some about cooked in the heat. If theres any way that there is a negative. I cant find one. Thanks guys stay strong...

We should have never gone out the day we did. The captain told me on the way back to the dock, he knew the fishing was going to be bad always is after a big storm. Well if he knew that why did he not tell us that before we went out. Oh I know they just want to take our money. Should be called pirate fishing.

Booked a gulf stream trip went out in a slow diesel boat and got no where near gulf stream. Owner deceived us and tells captain where to go to save fuel. Captain Anson was a great captain though just wish he had his own fleet. He was awesome and provides awesome recipes

Terrible communication. Wasted trip there and a loss of a days work to be turned away 20 min before departure. Acted as if they didnt know who we were...after we proved we were confirmed through our separate confirmation emails (son and I booked separately since we live in different states)...we were told they had to cxl due to not having enough ppl..never got anything saying that until after i sent them a nasty email after being turned away AND 10 min after trip was scheduled to leave...after seeing all the other people there waiting for the charter also...as well as the other people who arrived after us that he was waiting for. The cxl email at that point was a little pointless...already made a trip there and was turned away...pretty sure we know without that useless email! Poor way to run a business. Barely got an apology..only lies and excuses. Three people were turning and leaving as we arrived this morning...looking back it was probably the other 3 ppl that had booked the split charter with us...pretty sure they werent just there asking questions before daylight when no one but ppl on the trip were there. It seems like Fish Hook Charters had a chance to make more money by rebooking to a private charter probably for a longer more expensive trip. Not only would I never give them another chance to screw up our plans I will be sure to let as many people as possible know about our BAD experience. Many successful charters in the past with other companies in different cities...Definitely know to use someone else when we return to Myrtle Beach!

It might have been a fun trip- if we actually got to go on it. My 8 year old son and I were gifted this trip by my brother- who gave us the confirmation email. It had a date/time and an address. That was it. No contact number. Nothing.So we arrive at 6:40 (7am charter).The address is 2100- which is for a resort/condo building- I’m still not sure which. So I go inside and ask the lady at the desk.She’s clueless. We walked around the marina that was out back of the 2100 address, asking literally EVERYONE if they knew where we were supposed to be. Nobody knew.I finally got a hold of my brother (it was 5am in Denver), and got a # to call, and was given a piss poor attempt at directions from god knows who. I was then called back by this man, and told that they had left without us (which I figured since by this point we were LATE). He literally said, “sorry about your luck” and hung up.First off- this is a terribly managed attempt at a ‘small business’. I’m not sure how they think they can talk to their PAYING CUSTOMERS like that, without getting an awful review.Why did nobody call me when we were late?Why the heck did the resort RIGHT NEXT DOOR have absolutely no knowledge of this place?And why the heck was I given a wrong address? I’m not sure how they can rectify that little mess up.Needless to say, my son was HEARTBROKEN, and I was livid. Thankfully we are on a charter tomorrow with an actual reputable company. Save yourself the trouble and go with someone else!

Horrible.. guy called last second to try to get us to change the date of our trip for a day that was suppose to have a tropical storm basically! Then when we tell him we can’t cancel he says “ok that’s fine, see you today then” only to call when we’re about to pull in to say he’s gotta cancel due to weather on the prettiest day of the week! But wanted To change it for a day with tropical storms? Try a better place if you want to go fishing! Would hate to have you guys have the same experience because this guy literally ruined our whole trip basically

I went on a morning trip this past Saturday (10/12) for a birthday adventure. To say we had the best time would be a huge understatement! We caught 3 sharks (2 keepers), 2 octopus, a lizard fish, a pretty fish that I cant remember its name lol and tons of sea bass (which we unfortunately couldnt keep but they were still fun to catch!) Captain Richard and first mate Stacey did a wonderful job and kept us on the fish! I would highly recommend! None of us had ever had shark before so we were VERY excited to try it and it did not disappoint! Next time I am in Myrtle Beach, I WILL be back! We had an amazing trip with Anson and Tom! The guys were wonderful with my daughter. We caught lots of fish, almost had an octopus in the boat, and saw a huge turtle. Would highly recommend. Can’t wait til next time! Thank you so much!

What an incredible trip. Captain Anson and First Mate Cross did a great job today. It took everyone on the boat, but we reeled in a huge 9ft 275lb tiger shark! We managed to catch a few other small fish but spent most of our time reeling in the shark. We didnt mind. The crew was dedicated to getting this shark on the boat and it was a doozy. ½ day morning fishing charter is the way to go. Will come back next trip!

Just went on a trip with my family this past weekend (did a Saturday morning trip) and had a blast! Both Cap Ronnie and his mate Cross did a great job, they explained everything to us and helped when we needed it. Caught a few baby sharks and a good bit of bass and some others. Only downside, which wasn’t anyone’s fault, was that the big sharks didn’t wanna come out and play :(Overall would definitely use Captain Ronnie and Fish Hooks Charter again!

Got to dock this morning and was told they where over booked and unable to take me and two teenagers outCaptain Ronnie didnt even have the balls to tell me himself He took off like a lil b-tch andhand another captain tell me. The best family fishing experience ever. We were looking for a great deal without the big vacation crowds and we found it. The boat was excellent with lots of room to maneuver around. Equipped with a bathroom, bench seats and a table in the cabin for the kids to relax on the trip out and back in and the equipment worked flawlessly. The other couple didnt show up and the crew was true to the 7am launch which turned this into a private family trip. The size of the fish were small but the 2 sharks we caught made up for everything else that wasnt biting. We will not go anywhere else and next time were doing the Gulf Stream trip. These guys deserve the business for the awesome customer experience they provide.

Very disappointed with this trip. Went on the 4.5 to 5 hour trip on 7/23/19 and trolled the entire time. We had 6 people fishing and one person didn’t even get to touch a pole. 5 others caught a fish, but it literally took maybe 20 seconds to get the fish in the boat. 4.5 hours out in the water and only get to reel or even touch a pole for 20 seconds isn’t what I would call fishing. I understand catching fish isn’t guaranteed, but you should at least get to participate and reel and work the pole, even if they aren’t biting.

Had a blast! Big shout out to Oscar and cpt. Richard for putting us on the fish and being super nice and letting us getting our moneys worth. They let get involved as much as we wanted and as much as we could. Caught a big shark which made the whole trip in itself but fishing with fishing hook charters was defiantly a great choice of fishing!! If your trying to decide between which charter I would highly suggest this one. (I’ve been on a lot of charters and this is defiantly at the top!)

Stacey filletd all our fish, we had a fish fry at the condo,(delicious) froze the rest and FedExd them home.Coming back in late June for another charter. BTW, we out fished the other trips that day, we were winners all the way! 5 stars.

Captain Ronnie and First Mate Stacey were great, I was apart of 2 charters this march, one in the Morning and one in the afternoon. Due to the Water Temperature being cold the only thing biting were Sea Bass. Both days we were immediately catching fish. I probably caught 50 Sea Bass over the 2 days. Stacey showed great customer service helping with the rods and the bait, while the Captain was keeping us on the fish. Thank you for a great experience and when im back in the area I will be back on your boats.Thank you!

Went out on afternoon charter with Captain Richard and Crewmember Stacey. Extremely friendly and helpful. Caught several sharks and sea bass. Crew accommodated late arrival and provided a great experience.

Capt. Anson and Tom worked hard to get our limit of King Mackerel. Then they got in the fish again for some bottom fishing. They were safe, friendly and know how to catch fish. I highly recommend choosing them.

Captain Ronnie and Brandon were amazing. They took us out with the intent for an all day experience but since we werent taking anything home he recommended fishing just the morning for large shark. We had fun all around, even while catching our bait. Then to end it off my husband and I reeled in an amazing 64 spinner shark. She put up quite the fight bringing her in and both Captain Ronnie and Brandon were there to help. It was an awesome experience, one well share for a lifetime.

I took my father and two sons out for a day of fishing with Captain Ronnie and Mate Cross. Captain Ronnie with a wealth of knowledge and the energy to go with it made my two sons first trip a memory to remember! Cross was fun and always working to ensure we had a great time.My sons and I decided to go on a charter the next day.( The boys were hooked). Captain Anson and Mate Rashad took us out thenext day, an equally enjoyable day! With Fish Hook Charters, they work there tails off to give you a positive memorable experience. The Best for Sure !!! We did the 1/2 day (5) hours. Price was 85 per person. We started out just before 7 am. Captain and his crew explained all safety equipment and what we could expect for the day. We took a 43 min boat ride out to the ocean through the inter coastal waterway. First thing we did was troll for Spanish mackerel. We were very successful catching around 20 or so. We then headed over to a rock bed and did some bottom fishing. Everyone on the boat caught 1 medium size shark and many sea bass. Once we had the limit on shark for the day we decided to try to head closer to shore and fish for a larger shark. On the way there captain spotted the shrimp boat and headed towards it. Once behind the shrimper we watched dolphins and many birds. We got some more fresh bait fish from the shrimper and began fishing for a large shark. Success again. Once we got the large shark in we began back to the dock. Once we got back the crew cleaned and packaged all of our fish. What a great trip!!! Highly recommended!!!!Captain Hanson does a fantastic job!

Great captain and first mate. They kept us on the fish whole trip and very friendly. They definitely know what they doing. Will use there services in the future..

We went on the half day trip in the afternoon. We had a terrific time. Captain Ronnie was fantastic! My only observation would be that it might be cooler to take the morning time slot.

Booked a 5 hr trip arrived in the morning with no sight of capt Called Capt he was out on a 12 hr booking and had no boat for us SO WE HAD TO CANCEL POOR SERVICE

This might have been a great trip IF the captains would have shown up. I planned a special birthday weekend in Myrtle beach. It was planned around going deep sea fishing. The morning of we waited at the boat ramp for an hour. I called the captain and he had his phone turned off (straight to voicemail). After an hour one person shows up and says that his boss wasnt able to get 3 more people to go, so we needed to call this other guy about going out the next day. It would have been nice to get a call the night before, so we could have salvaged our plans. They took my credit card number in case I stood them up, but they stood up 9 people with no consideration. What about the full boat of 6, how come they could not go? I wish I would have read the reviews before signing up with this group because this apparently isnt the only time something like this has happened. This was really disappointing because we never got to fish and it was the reason for our trip!

My husband and I went to Myrtle Beach in September 2012. We found Fish Hook Charters on Google and when I read the reviews I was skeptical about booking our trip with them, but my husband insisted. I am a couple months late but I wanted to give Fish Hook Charters a good review for future people to look at, we had a awesome time. The cost wasnt bad at all. We caught lots of fish and sharks. The captain and the help were great. We had a great time!!

I was a little nervous at first to book because many of the reviews included difficulty finding the meeting place for Fish Hook Charters and people missing the departure time. We left early and were given great directions through text and Captain Ronnie kept us updated on the weather (we had to move our trip from Friday morning to Saturday afternoon due to choppy waters). They were very accommodating and kept in communication with us up until the trip. I recommend putting Captain Archie’s Restaurant into your GPS, but the directions provided sufficed.While we didn’t catch as much as we thought, we had a blast with Captain Ronnie, and his first mate, Cross! We had three people in our group and shared the ride with one other party of two. Between the five of us, we caught sea bass, Spanish Markle, and 3 sharks. If there weren’t any bites, Captain Ronnie kept us moving to a new spot to drop into. It was a ton of fun and everyone was a great sport, even though Captain Ronnie wasn’t too thrilled we caught a rabbit fish (apparently they are bad luck to have on a boat) haha sorry Captain! Thank you Cross and Captain Ronnie for the experience and showing us a great time!

The day started off with some rain the whole way to the ocean. I was worried the trip might get cancelled, but Captain Ronnie told us we would get through it and find some fish. Boy was he right. We caught some bait fish. Then he took us and we caught some smaller shark. After that he asked if we wanted to try for a bigger shark. Of course we said yes. We trolled for some Spanish mackerel for bait and only got a couple but that was all we needed. We fought a shark for about 30 mins and finally got it in the boat. It was the biggest fish either of us had ever caught, a 100lbs spinner shark.Captain Ronnie and his crewman Brandon were great to hang out with and really knew what they were doing. It was a wonderful time and I couldnt have asked for a better trip.

Shoutout to STACEY for his great extra mile service and his approachable personality! Caught a lot of fish and it was an awesome fishing spot. Great experience for a great price! The captain was great too, we learned a lot of things for our first time. We drove all the way down from Raleigh,NC and it was well worth it!!!

Booked a half day trip, Captain Ronnie was great kept us trolling on some great numbers. Bagged several Spanish Mackerel. Went for the big catches, and Bagged 2 4 foot sharks! Greg was a great help, always on top of things. Thanks guys for a great trip.

Went out on a 1/2 day morning trip with Fish Hook Charters on April 3, 2015. When we arrived at the dock, the 2 man crew was waiting on us with the boat already warming up. We only had four ppl from our group that wanted to go but we had a great time. Because the water was still fairly cold for this time of year we only caught 40 or so fish, most of them too small to keep but it was fun catching them just the same. The crew was very helpful and informative. If you are looking for a high end fishing charter that is fancy and fully catered, this is not for you, if you are looking for a fishing charter that is laid back, fun to be around and can put you on the fish then I can recommend Fish Hook Charters. Looking forward to our next trip!
