I genuinely thought that this place was good, and I was happy to send myself and my family there. The front desk woman that handles billing is AWFUL. I was very disappointed when there was a billing issue, and she decided to take a really awful tone with me after they informed us that we owed over $1,000.Thats not how you handle patient care at a MENTAL HEALTH FACILITY. The doctors are good, but the front desk? Awful. I canceled all future appointments and wont be going back.Do yourself a favor and dont go here. Its sad to say that, but the disrespect I just experienced was beyond unprofessional.

The office does not really take into account emergency situations at all. My wife and I were scheduled for a visit and I ended up in the hospital the day of our visit. We tried to explain this to them and they still refused to waive or adjust their cancelation fee. they have even put it on her credit as a result. I understand business practices and cancellations, but there should always be exceptions to the rule. As a medical billing supervisor myself, I make exceptions all the time. This is poor customer service at the least.

Woman at front desk currently, top notch. i saw a counselor for a few sessions (i signed up for a Dr) but got the counselor. Then finally after months got to see the doc. What a hack. She escorted me out of the building because she tried to convince somebody with ptsd and GAD that i had ADD nothing more. Thanks..... she didnt like it when i questioned her knowledge. I was then escorted out. Funny.,... i bet she thought she got paid for that, my insurance as well as the board are not happy with this.

I have been a patient of Dr Cook for a number of years. I would not go to anyone else!!!

Would not recommend this place for any help. Told me wrong information setti g up and appointment and was treated very badly by my therapist. Very unprofessional.

Update: Apparently, a large number of people have heard of her and she does this regularly. Next time Ill do my research. I wish I could give 0 stars. Also, the primary concern should be the patient. Ill give you my insurance when I know the information is safe. It should have NOTHING to do with religion either.The psychiatrist, the staff... they are not good people. They lie, and will treat you unfairly if you call them on the way they treat you. All they care about is money, and your insurance. Please... please dont go to this place. I have never been treated so poorly by a medical professional in my life. Dr. Cook is not a good person. She is unempathetic towards individuals with disorders. I have no idea why I even came to this place for so long. I tried to speak with her about it but all she did was have an attitude, and berate me with insults.When they thought I didnt have insurance, they treated me poorly. I just didnt want them charging me for stuff that never happened. Which is what they seem to want to do.ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS YOUR INSURANCE AND APPARENTLY YOUR RELIGION.

I tried for over 3 months to get an appointment with Lakewood Behavioral Health. All I needed was my medication adjusted. I showed up for my appointment today and was told that they do not accept my insurance, and the office visit cost is $250. They required that money to be paid up front, before the visit. Also, I was told that I would be unable to reschedule the appointment once I was able to acquire the $250, as Dr. Cook is a one-shot person. This means you have one chance to meet their requirements, and if you fail, you are blacklisted.I would have given them 0 stars if that were an option, for failure to tell me 3 months ago that they do not accept my insurance, the hoops that you must jump through to get an appointment, and the lack of desire to help someone who is truly trying.Now I must start the process over again with a new psychiatrist. :( Save your time and money and go elsewhere to seek help.

Husband and I were scheduled for Suicide Bereavement couples counseling thru my EAP but because I did not want to fill out the 8 pages of MEDICAL HISTORY which was totally not pertinent to grief counseling in the least, the VERY Rude Office Manager /Receptionist canceled our appointment. Not worth even a free visit in my book. I would NEVER recommend them

Excellent Christian counseling available here. Of course they have to be concerned about insurance and reimbursement. They have to make a living just like anyone else.

Kimbey Yada is the worst therapist Ive ever saw. Seriously if you choose Lakewood, request a different therapist.

Horrible receptionist!!! Tried to charge me for a missed appointment when she gave me the wrong date on my appointment card!!! Office manger still told me if I didnt pay it then they would cancel both appointments!
