After calling several places, Movers & Grovers had the best prices all around town. I moved from downtown Charleston to West Ashley. Two guys were necessary to move all of my furniture. They came on time, worked quickly, and did not damage any of my furniture nor any of the walls at either house. One of the gentlemen named Herb did a fantastic job. He honestly could have moved the whole house by himself had I been on the first floor of the apartment. I was very impressed with their service and l will definitely be using them again!

Great experience! I must say I was truly nervous due to some of the online reviews. I took a chance on this company and I was not disappointed. They stayed in contact with me throughout the entire process. Ronnie was very helpful and so was the two men who delivered the furniture. I have used many moving companies in the past, but Movers and Groovers are by far the best.Their COWS Containers on Wheels kept everything safe and dry.All of the people we dealt with (arranging, loading and unloading) were professional, quick and careful.NOTHING was broken. DO NOT USE! This company did not complete the move for the agreed price, damaged walls, floors, trim and furniture, and left a very large portion of the house unpacked. This pretty much sums up everything you arent looking for in a moving company. Its sad actually because they moved us in the past and it was actually good. Not sure why the quality has gone so downhill. I have many more pictures of damage if anyone needs them.

I highly recommend Movers & Groovers services. We needed just a few things moved from Columbia to our new home in Charleston. They were extremely easy to work with during the planning/scheduling phase, and equally accommodating during the move. Our main concern was a piano that we needed moved to the second floor of our new home. The guys handled all of our stuff with care, and were able to get our piano upstairs without injury to themselves or the piano. All of this for what I considered to be a very reasonable price, and the utmost in professionalism.

Movers and Groovers moved us and they did an incredible job. It was a very stressful time for us and these guys showed up and did an amazing job. Lost the most important part of our granddaughters play ‘n pack. Glass box of all my hoop earrings, and shattered one of our T.V. Screens. Offered NO compensation. Offered to take off their shirts and work for tips in front of our daughter. Very unprofessional! Extremely overpriced!!

Best movers that weve ever used! Dexter, Joe and Marcus were polite, patient, conscientious, very strong, and fast yet careful. They moved several very heavy bulky items up a narrow winding stairwell without a single mark on the walls or furniture. They let us know ahead of time exactly when they would arrive for packing and for delivery. Everything was accomplished on schedule as promised. We definitely highly recommend!

We used Movers and Groovers to move our family of 4 from a 2 story house to another 2 story house. The movers arrived early and they were very courteous and accommodating. All of our furniture arrived just as it left, great condition. The price was great and the movers worked hard until the move was finished. Ronnie and his staff have our business and we definitely recommend.

Movers and Groovers/ Moving Pros..neither of which name they choose is indicative of their ability. They agreed to reimburse us for damages, but have not received the credit nor will they return messages or phone calls. They were 2.5 hrs late for pick up and 3 hrs late for delivery. Damages were rampant and they even lost some goods or stole them. Sincerely would be very careful with using and/or trusting these people.

Moving is never fun but it doesnt have to be stressful when it comes to actually moving your belongings. We had called and set up movers for our recent move and the morning of, they didnt show up! What a disaster! My neighbor had used a company called Movers and Groovers and said that they had done a great job for them. I called and they were there the next day. Not only were they on time but Bob and Tommy just took over and handled the loading and placement of the total move.I expected a few guys who could move the heavy stuff but the expertise that they brought was an unexpected treat. They took a lot of stress off of us and we were able to focus on other important aspects of our move. I am calling them back today to have them move us into our new place. They get 5 stars from us!! I just wanted to post a review about my recent move! I had movers and Groovers move me last week. I have to say, it couldnt have gone any better!!! I have moved in the past by renting a truck and doing it myself with friends(who I had to bribe to help of course). The rate for the 2 guys and the truck was very affordable. The 2 guys(I cant remember their names) were very friendly, and took every precaution to protect my furniture. They wrapped everything with their blankets. It only took them about 4 hours to move my 3rd floor, 2 bedroom apt. I would highly recommend using Movers and Groovers for your next move.

Their crew moved everything from a 4100 sq foot house to the other side of mount pleasant in a day. Other movers estimated two days and more cost. They broke one item on load out and let me know immediately, taking care of the cost to replace it that day. They expected two trucks, but only one was available. They didnt even let it stop them, and ended up working until 7pm. Just great, solid, work from Morris and his crew.

Movers and Groovers was the moving company I was looking for! I called them on a late Thursday night to get a quote and Ronnie, the owner answered the phone at 7:30 pm! He put me at ease and didnt pressure me at all to book my move with them. I called back the next morning and scheduled my move. On the day of my move, three men showed ten minutes early and waited in the truck (I guess just in case I wasnt ready- which I respected). They were taking half of my things to storage and the other half was going to my new temporary apartment. They immediately got going on my move and worked seamlessly together. They had my 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house packed and engines running before 11:00. We were leaving the storage unit before noon! I stopped and got the crew lunch and they refused to eat until everything was safely in our apartment. Thanks guys!

Very professional and fast!!!! Dominic, James, and Steve were our movers and moved my one bedroom apartment from a third floor to a first floor unit, including washer and dryer in about an hour and a half. Very nice gentlemen as well; they wrapped up everything and there were no moving casualties in terms of damaged furniture.

Hired Movers and Groovers to move a piano. Received a call from Ronnie hours before scheduled move time to reschedule for the following day. We agreed. Since that call, they NO-SHOWED and did not return any calls over the next 5 days.

We used them twice. Only used them a second time because the owner promised a discount for items broken during first move. Well, the owner did not keep that promise. There was no discount for piano broken by movers and groovers. And the final price was 1/3 more than quoted. They moved slowly as if to take more time. One mover complained of how heavy the furniture was and stated his tip should be big. One mover requested to use the restroom and left urine on the toilet and floor. Overall, a terrible experience. We’ll never use them again

I give them one star because it doesnt offer the option of zero stars. Two times they bailed on me, didnt call me or anything. I repeatedly called and reached out to them. No response. They broke two appointments on October 21st and 28th. I stayed at home all day on both days calling and waiting. They didnt have the common decency to return my calls. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS PATHETIC COMPANY.........

I called Movers & Groovers on Tuesday to move me on Saturday morning and they were available to help at such late notice. The move was scheduled at 9 am Saturday and the moving truck was there on time. The total move time was 4 hours which I thought was great! Very professional company and you can tell they take pride in their work. No furniture was damaged during the move. Also very reasonably priced compared to other companies I spoke with. I would definitely recommend them!

These guys are the BEST movers Ive ever hired! I cannot express how kind, professional, hard-working, careful and STRONG these guys are. No damage and no scratches - they helped me pack what I couldnt get to before they arrived.....on time! They worked as a team and have never seen a truck packed so tight! They loaded the truck of a full house of furniture, artwork, grandfather clock and antiques in less than 3 hours!!!! However, I do have one complaint.....Morris photo should be on the truck! Morris is a genius. BTW, Ive used Two Guys and a Truck before and it was a nightmare! Do not use any other moving company or youll regret it. Take it from someone who has lived all over and even moved to Europe. Movers and Groovers are 2nd to none.

We hired movers & grooves to load our trailer for our move from South Carolina to Wisconsin this past week (5-6-16). The two gentlemen that came to the house were very polite and did a fabulous job of packing in a timely manner. I highly recommend this company and the two guys. Awesome job guys.

In a days notice they were able to disassemble a few pieces of furniture I bought from a private seller and bring it over and re-assemble for a great price. The employees were great and very respectful. I will definitely use again!John

We were very impressed with our moving team from Movers & Groovers out of Charleston SC. Morris, Justin and Domonique took good care of us. They were friendly, courteous and very professional and didnt let us lift a finger. Everything arrived in great shape - nothing lost, broken, nicked or scratched. We have already recommended them to friends who will be moving in the near future.

They loaded my van for my move, the guys were on point and done in the quoted time frame. However I cant give five stars because they didnt tie anything down, and a bookshelf broke in half because of it. Overall Id use them again, but make sure you have them tie things down AS they go, they said they had tied down but they didnt!

Do not use them! BEWARE!!! They stole my daughter’s flat screen TV, a bag of her Jordan’s and other tennis shoes, damaged my son’s bunk bed, damaged my sleigh bed, and did not return the nails they used to take my furniture apart. I’ve called them several times with no satisfaction but I’m done calling. They next call is from my attorney. Then the movers had nerve to ask for a big tip. They slow dragged for 5 hours. You messed with the wrong one!

Moved my 2 story 3 bedroom house yesterday. 3 Guys with a big truck showed up and went to work. They worked very hard on a very hot and miserable weather day. They were very conscientious of covering things being careful. They were very polite and professional all day. It was a very good experience and just what i needed. Thank you thank you thank you !!! Our Pipes busted last night and I called Moversand Groovers at 7am today. They arrived at our home at 8:30 and Morris and Herbert rocked. They brought one of their COW mobile storage units and loaded it with our dinning and living room furniture. They also helped me pull the carpet up so the fans good dry the floor. I have used Movers & Groovers twice in the past year and both experiences were EXCELLENT. They arrived on time, could not have been more pleasant, and were incredibly thorough. There wasnt even a scrape on my walls once the furniture was moved. Thanks Movers & Groovers!

They showed up 4 hours late without letting me know about the delay. The movers were slow and incredibly rude. I end up doing most of the actual moving of the furniture from my apartment to the truck and from the truck to my new apartment. To top it all off, the movers backed their truck into my landlords fence, and they left without telling me. The damage was minor ($ 25), and the moving company said they would reimburse me for the damages if I dropped off an expense report prepared by my landlord. Well, it is two years since I dropped the expense report off at their office and I still have not received reimbursement for the damage.I have moved several times over the last seven years. I have to say that this is the worst moving company I have dealt with. The only positive was that the price was reasonable. However, when you factor in the stress and time wasted due to the delay and trying to get my landlords fence fixed, it was definitely not worth the hassle.

We got screwed! We hired a 2-man crew from Movers and Groovers (aka Moving Pros) to help us move 12 pieces of furniture and some boxes in our t/h which had two sets of stairs. We booked them almost two weeks ahead! Around noon on moving day, we received a call from Ronnie confirming our appointment at 3pm. Then got a text at 2:45pm from the owner that the movers are almost done with another job and would be there soon. We made several attempts to contact them while we were patiently waiting. They finally responded by text at 5:45pm (3 hrs later) saying theyd have to reschedule for first thing in the morning. Since we didnt really have a choice at this point, we agreed. We rented our uhaul for another day and packed truck with whatever we could handle ourselves. Come Sunday morning....no one showed up...AGAIN! We called and texted all morning and never got a response! Still to this day, no word!! Bottom line, they NO-SHOWED and did not return any calls! We got screwed!! So messed up and down right RUDE! Dont hire a them! Go with a more reputable company who will get the job done!

Hired this company in August of this year to do a small local move. They showed up on time! Didnt damage any of my furniture and the final bill wasnt bad. I will use them again once we decide to buy a house.

Moved us twice in less than a couple of months apart. Second move, same stuff, took twice as long (2 different guys) with a big increase in cost of the move. The second move also ended in damage to our walls in our staircase which the owner said he would reimburse for-he did not and is not returning our phone calls. Also, the second move, the movers put boxes in random rooms resulting in us having to re-move all the boxes. In the end, big increase in cost to us, had to have walls patched and repainted and had to remove almost all of the boxes throughout the house. Terrible experience, terrible customer service- would never use again.

They are awesome and fast! I had them pack my things and move my things to my POD. I would totally use them again. I dealt with Josh and he was really responsive to my questions and concerns prior to the move.

I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau about this company and will be taking legal action if they do not respond to my claim. It has been over 6 months now and they have not responded to the claim that was submitted. The movers were quick to give me a quote over the phone and did not have enough space in their truck for my items. They made 2 trips and pushed items into the 2 storage units I had. It was very disorganized how they handled it. They broke and damaged several of my pieces and as of yet have not responded though they keep promising that it will be addressed. I would never recommend this company to any one looking to move. I recommend checking the Better Business Bureau before hiring any mover.

These guys broke my furniture, lost (!!) a table leaf, and all around were a huge problem. A very valuable antique was broken. I was finally able to get it repaired, but it could not be repaired to its original state. The table leaf was never found, and I was told I would be reimbursed for that value but they never answer the phone when they saw it was me calling. It took numerous phone calls and a ton of effort to even get the antique repaired, and even then I almost couldnt get it back because the repair person said he could not release it until they paid him for it - and they were already behind on payment for several other repairs they had hired him to do (it sounded like they break stuff a LOT!)Never again!

Lawrence and Johnny were very courteous and efficient. They were a little late due to traffic but the company compensated me for that. I would use them again.

I used Movers and Groovers for my move this weekend, and I was overall satisfied with the experience. They seem to be possibly a little lacking in organization as the actual movers showed up not knowing my apartment number or having a phone # to reach me despite me having received telephone and email confirmation of the move the previous day. Once they arrived (my husband found them in the parking lot and brought them to our place 20 min late), the movers were very courteous and efficient. They loaded and unloaded all of our belongings without incident or damage. They still finished the job on time and the price was as originally quoted. I would recommend Movers and Groovers for a hassle free move despite the slight hiccup at the beginning.

On top of this review I just heard a friend of mine used this company and they showed up 4 hours late and broke a bunch of their furniture. The owner never calls back to rectify the situation. This company should be shut down! The worst experience we have ever had! Do not be fooled by these reviews. Go to Yelp and you will see the truth! They stole things out of my drawer, they destroyed walls. It cost us $500 to repair all the damage they caused, they broke furniture and scratched tables. One mover was smoking pot and passed out in the truck. The customer service is the worst. When I called to complain, they said file a claim. No sympathy no concern. They will not call back. Run from this company. The only good reviews are the ones they write. I just heard another person used them and they stole stuff from them as well. How can someone still be in business. They are crooks.

Do not use this company! During a friends house move, they put a huge scratch in the top of a dining table. 8 weeks later, they are not returning calls or offering to fix the problem. Stay away!

Completely unprofessional. Move scheduled for 2pm. Got a call from my team at 2:50 saying they MIGHT be able to move me around 4 or 4:30. When I told them that was unacceptable I was told to call the office and complain. Left many messages with mgr on duty both before & after this call was received - all ignored. If you schedule a time and confirm it, you should honor it. Simple business practice. Apparently not with this company.

CALL ANOTHER COMPANY. Let me save you the trouble. Long story short:Had few extremely heavy pieces moved from one location to another. Told Movers and Grovers on initial call theyd need no less than 4 men to move my items and property dolly trucks etc. Movers showed up 30 min late! Told me before they stepped foot into my house, that I could tip them (how nice). Came with only 3 guys and a 20 X 20 flat dolly...Needless to say they had to wait an hour for a 4th guy (which I requested from the beginning) to help finish the move. They damaged (way beyond repair) my 3000+K entertainment center. They charged me for the extra hour they sat around. The manager himself has yet to return any of my calls addressing damages and extra time I unnecessarily paid for. Never again with them. EVER! Only gave one star because I had to.

Had an appointment set up and we called 5 minutes before they were scheduled to pick up our stuff. They decided they couldnt move us due to a light rain and their trucks had holes in their roofs and thus could not move us AND would not be able to for two more days. This left us scrambling to find someone to help us move. Wont be using it recommending them again.Rain was not a surprise and did not try to call us before scheduled appointment. Very fustrating.

Horrible people! I used them to move in February. They damaged a TV, my sons bed, and numerous walls and door frames. The one thing I couldnt ignore was the rip in my laundry room floor. Not only did they rip it, but the mover left my washing machine moved out away from the wall to hide the tear. Not until I slid it back did I realize there was a huge rip in the middle of where the washer sat. I contacted management, got a quote for repairs and filed a claim through all the proper channels, but all they did was ignore me and send me youll get your check this week emails. To this day they have never accepted ownership and taken care of what their movers did to my house. Finally, last month I went to their physical address listed on Google to speak with someone and theres nothing there. This company is a TOTAL scam! RUN!!!

RUN!!!!! Management was unprofessional and rude. I had a scheduled move with these folks and they NO SHOWED. They kept telling me that somebody was going to show up, 20 minutes, then it was 45 minutes, then it was theyll be there in a half hour. I co-own two property management companies in the Charleston SC market. Josh Oleen has provided excellent service for our companies, clients, and tenants for several years. This past week a situation came up in which a very close contact was cheated and mistreated by another moving company. They contacted me because they were on a tight time crunch and knew I could help. I got them in touch with Movers & Groovers who promptly got to work and took care of business. My contact said that a) they wish they had taken my original advice and contacted M&G first and b) that they were the most professional and courteous crew that they had ever met. They especially had good things to say about Matt who was on site. Thank you Josh, thank you Matt, and thank you Movers & Groovers. You already had my respect, but you have now proven yourselves as people of character and professionalism.

If hiring to save money, time, or your belongings, dont bother! Laurence, Joe, and Talon moved us on May 20. They removed an expensive floor mirror from my house when they broke it with the promise it would be fixed or replaced. I called, text, and emailed for weeks before my husband was able to reach Ronnie (manager or owner). He said we needed to complete a claim form, we were not told to do this before but it did immediately. For weeks we were promised we would be reimbursed (because they couldnt find our mirror) and now nearly four months later Im not receiving replies and do not have a replacement. Weve spoken to the police and an attorney and our best option is to go to small claims court to get the money for the mirror. There is a fee to submit the claim and the time it will take to file and go to court will cost me time from work. Thanks movers and groovers for making it cheaper and more efficient for us to move ourselves!

I called for a small job - 2 men & small truck for 2 hours. First time, he called and cancelled for a little rain shower. Rescheduled for following week, confirmed the day before. THEN never showed!!! Did not answer phone call or text.It seems like these small businesses do not like small jobs and are very disrespectful to the customer . Ruined my plans to drop off and collect for 2 different situations. VERY unprofessional and dont really care - though for my big move 7 months were ok!!!

Fantastic company! We could not have asked for a better group of guys-- Lawerence, Talon and Marcus moved our household from Mount Pleasant to Spartanburg. They were very professional and took the time to introduce all the members of their team to my family before starting. They were organized and efficient loading the truck and very careful with our furniture and boxes. It was a long day for them: driving all the way to Spartanburg and then unpacking everything up to a 3rd floor apartment. They worked hard to get it all done and didnt complain despite the late hour by the time they headed home. We are so grateful for their hard work and will definitely be using their services again the next time we move!

I used this company for an unload earlier this year (choosing it because of good Google reviews), and was mostly satisfied with the service I paid for, so when I moved between apartments last month, I hired them again. The men they sent were unprofessional, careless with my property and stole from me. Though there were three men, one repeatedly attempted to carry things that required two people to carry properly. He ignored my instructions on certain pieces of furniture that needed to be carried by the bottom. They dropped a crucial piece of my bed down an elevator shaft. All in all, 50% of the pieces of furniture they carried were damaged in the move, along with the walls of the apartment. Worst of all, I had an iPod in a zipped pocket of a zipped suitcase, and one of them stole it during the move. When trying to deal with this over the phone, their office informed me that they did not even have the last names or phone numbers of all three men that they sent into my home. I had to file a claim with the company. I have had to call the company over and over again only to not have my calls returned when they state that they will return them. Their office and their website will tell you to fill out the claim form online and print it and mail it to the address listed on the form. I did so only to be informed weeks later after many phone calls that this address is an old address where they can no longer receive mail. Even though they were made aware of this crucial error that prevents customers from filing claims for damaged property almost two weeks ago, today their website still has the same unusable address on the form. I then emailed my claim form with pictures, furniture receipts, and a copy of the police report I had to file for my iPod. I have called the company several times without return calls. I spent $525 on this move (and will have to pay an additional $120 to replace my stolen iPod), and I still have not seen any progress on a cent being returned to me 5.5 weeks after the move. This company cannot be trusted. Please do not make the same mistake as I did going for the low prices. Its not worth it.

Hate to tell you but I think they are padding these reviews. Booked them 2 weeks in advanced. Called the morning of to confirm,he called me back and said theyd be an hour late. My appointment was for 1pm. 2:30 came - Called and left a voicemail asking where they were. 3:30 got a call back. Said they are still running late and hope to be there in the hour. 5:30 I sent a text very heated at this point. They stated theyll be there tonight.... At 6:45PM Sent them a text saying forget it and cancelled. 845 yep thats right 8:45!!!!! Someone is knocking on the door... Movers I cancelled them 2 hours ago. They are the worst. Run, run, run!!!!!

Absolutely no way would I recommend that you use this misogynistic company. When I call somewhere and the person on the other end of the line asks to speak to my husband, thats an immediate hang-up. If you want to be talked down to and treated like lesser of a human because of your genitalia, Movers & Groovers might be the right company for you. This is one angry little lady.
