The smell of the filthy carpet in this place hits you when you walk in the door.Having carpet in a place like this is a sure sign of the shortcut owners use to ensure the least amount of cleaning to a floor with a ton of traffic. Lets now add in the lack thereof of proper ventilation and ac unit to accommodate the carpet aroma. Moving on to the COVID spreading atmosphere where social distancing, masks and gloves while fixing plates are optional. The food- I give it 2 stars for the lack of season and preparation. Just yuk!

Love this location! Food is always fresh and the restaurant is super clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. I never had to ask for a thing, our server anticipated the needs of everyone in our section. This may not be the norm but I never saw a single server stop moving the whole time we were there.

Golden Corral was our second choice for dinner, due to Ihop being too busy.Descent buffet for the price, if you ate a big eater. Wish they would have better discounts for seniors & children!Dannie our waitress was awesome! :)

This is a very clean buffet with a full salad bar and numerous choices of main course meals. The staff is exceptional. Please tip the servers, they deserve it. The manager was also top notch.

Golden Coral Buffet is a great family establishment. This particular station lives up to the brand. In order for buffet restaurant chains to succeed, there must be consistency. The F.O.H. staff went above and beyond to accommodate. Back of house, along with kitchen management at this location should coordinate better to make sure food temps are on point. Several items were on the line longer than they should have. Fried Chicken should always be monitored closely. My party waited for the line to be refreshed and it still lacked. All in all this location would be visited again.I can only hope staff and kitchen get on one accord.

We have always enjoyed eating at the Golden Corral. Weve been going there for about 20 years or better. The food is always good and the service is excellent! We live closer to Beaufort, SC, but its been closed for quite some time now, so now we have to go to Charleston, SC.

We were in hurry to get a family member to the train station so this buffet was fast and just right. Good was pretty good and there was a great variety of southern food. Wasnt amazing but wasnt bad. Did the trick for what we needed. Oh, and the kids were ecstatic to get cotton candy

Staff were good and accommodating. Very dirty when I last went though. Food was mostly cold and got a piece of fried chicken that was raw in the center. My family was sat near the salad bar and it smelled like spoiled vegetables.Unless they improve I really wont be going back or changing my review

Reasonable Price, its a great deal! the steaks taste not fresh, Bacons have a strong rancid oil taste. Choices are plenty if you are not picky about your food.

Hello Charleston, I stopped in for dinner Tuesday night after attempting to go to a couple other places but due to staffing issues I left so overall this is a good buffet I did not however have much meat I did have a cold piece of fish yuck but everything else I had wasnt bad I do like the mash potatoes and the sweet potato with marshmallows. My server was attentive.

Food quality no longer justified the higher prices and smaller selection. Because there are fewer customers some food like soup, rolls, salad bar, and even fried chicken dried out on the line. For $15 + soda I could get a better quality meal at several places in this area.

My kid loves this place, I do not. Couple of keys when going...1) go when its very busy so the food is turned over often and fresh.2) it you get a steak get it 1-2 levels more rare than you normally do. They significantly overcook them.3) stay away from the chocolate fountain. Too many kids make bad decisions with that thing.And remember, this is a buffet, set your expectations nice and low.

Ive always loved the buffet and Golden corral. This is the first time Ive been to this one. It exceeded my expectations. It was clean and will stocked. The service was excellent. Sherry, our waitress was great.

Being a diabetic I ate at the salad bar... Not much to choose from.. Salad looked days old, flies running around on lettuce. Very few appetizing toppings.

Great buffet, nothing spectacular. Just unlimited food at a great price. Can you eat enough to make $12? I suppose only you can answer that.

Lots of choices. Easy to over eat. Not really sure $17 bucks with a Senior Discount counts as a value though. Unique in that they force Patrons to tip in cash. No objections on my part having been a server in my teens.

We met a friend who requested to go here. The food was merely okay. Nothing on the hot bars was fresh. The salad bar was okay, hence the 2 stars. I do not care to return here. No fault of the restaurant, but children were unattended. We watched o e child get an entire plate of bacon and put half of it back in the pan. I did notify staff and the removed some of it.

It’s the only Golden Corral in the area, so it’s the only place to get the Awesome Pot Roast. It’s fairly grimy and avoid the bathrooms, but the servers are always cheerful and helpful. I hope they back to their pre-Covid food options soon.

Very good food. Steak tasted better than other Golden we have been. Only complain, they guy at the grill. Very nasty attitude. They need someone willing to deliver customers requests and do it work pride.

Definitely Covid ready! They give you gloves to prepare your food. Clean your tables and take your plates. They also prepare your drinks and bring them to you.If you dont have a mask, they will give you one. The roast beef was like whoa!The fish and rice was great also. The broccoli was a bit dry. All in all, enjoyed it.

Worst ever experience there. Steak was not eatable. My opinion quality has gone from this place. Last dinner for this particular place. Saving my money, will go elsewhere.

Grill master on Sunday 8/8 @11am was on point. Food was juicy and flavorful and he remembered how I wanted my steak on my 2nd time thru! I should have gotten his name, he was owning the grill!

Such a great and delicious menu. David was an amazing and kind person. He was a part of security patrol but he was so kind and helpful.

I havent been to Golden Corral since it first opened. There is definitely a need for a medium priced family restaurants. However you do better at the local Chinese buffets. I was very disappointed in the quality of food. Nothing seemed fresh. Fried foods were either over cooked or not crispy. The staff were very nice but l am not going back. Just not my cup of tea.

Food wasnt that great. Couldnt find a spoon. They keep all the plates and silverware to themselves.

So many of these have closed up but this one still fills the belly up with a large variety of good, home style food.

This business model has its pros and cons. I love the value you get from a buffet, but that brings a bit of chaos to the dining experience. Our lives are busy enough already, I dont enjoy bobbing and weaving through a crowd just so I can fill up my plate. The other element is quite petty but still true none the less. Why should tipping be brought in to the equation after you worked hard to serve yourself? Make the drink fountain accessible and let us enjoy our meal in peace.

If I could give ZERO stars I absolutely would! Lets start with the food. They couldnt keep enough fried chicken. After 3 trips I was FINALLY able to grab 1 wing and 1 thigh for my 9 yr old and 6 yr old. The chicken was over cooked, mac and cheese luke warm at best. My husband said his meatloaf sucked. I went to get a well done steak the man told me 5 mins I said ok and stood there, after 5 mins he said all I have is medium well and thats it.... well no thanks so I went to get the bourbon chicken and one bite and it was cold so I was no longer hungry. Took my 6 year to the bathroom and well lets just say that 3 of the stalls were HORRENDOUS!!! There was toilet paper all over the womens bathroom and and the smell made me vomit!! So my daughter and I went to wash our hands and she couldnt because the water was too hot!! I tried turning both sink faucets in both directions to see if one of them would have cooler water so she could wash her hands and we never got anything except water thats way too hot for a 6 yr old. Thankfully I carry hand sanitizer! I came out and to my husband and 9 yr old to lets go! I was absolutely DONE and over this place! WE WILL NEVER BE BACK!!

It was a decent breakfast, the food was nothing special. The service is the reason for the 4 star rating, the ladies working provide great customer service, they were quick and very nice.

Despite Covid, Golden Corral met my expectations. The staff was minimal but handled the customers well. They had someone handing out plates with gloves. The waitress took our used gloves and we were given a new gloves every trip. Social distancing was maintained at all times as far as I could I tell. Will return to this location again. Very well maintained!

The selection is always perfect. Our server never let or drinks remain empty any dirty dishes were quickly removed and replaced with clean, when needed.

This lovation was very clean and followed Covid safety protocol to keep its guest safe. The food was delicious and the waitress for our table was very polite and professional. Will be eating here again.

It was surprisingly good. It was early in the day and all the food was plentiful, fresh and hot. This is a good review from a person who is not a fan of buffets.

I dont enjoy my food as well when Im hot. It is very warm in this place. Also it is a little crowded sometimes. But overall the food is delicious and the waitresses are always very polite.

The food was very good, and hot at this Golden Corral. They have an employee hand you a glove and then hand you a plate. They get your glove as soon as you sit down so you cant use it again, or so it doesnt look nasty on the table.?.? 🤷‍♀️ They have every other table in use, and have signs that they sanitise between each guest. That was not the case however so you might want to watch out for your own safety.

Arrive there around 8pm, was very busy, food was good, pre carved steak was a little slow,wanted to try more steak, but will come earlier next time !

We used their group meal options for a work lunch. The food was great and the way they boxed everything up was great. They dont have any to-go serving spoons, but we made it work. The amount of food you get for the cost makes them a great option for any kind of work event or family get together. Highly recommend! They are more than just a buffet and because of their buffet style, they can easily accommodate large scale orders next and same day. A big shout out to Ken, as he is the one who hit the pavement and made us aware of them as an option for our Saturday staff lunches. Thanks so much!

Before the Pandemic:Food has always been good. Service was on point. Servers were very friendly & prompt.After the Pandemic:The staff is doing a fantastic job with keeping everyone safe. Masks ARE required while getting food (amazing how some people argue about this and are rude about it) and a new glove is required as well.All the servers have always been friendly, prompt, and take the initiative. If they see my glass is almost empty, they will bring another one.The food is delicious and no complaints whatsoever.Will be back again & again.

If youre looking for an inexpensive family meal be sure to check out corral to go. We tried the meatloaf family meal for 4 and will definitely be ordering curbside to go again.

Better than most I have been to. Manager was nice until we had an issue, fiances steak was still raw and I told her it was a safety concern. She denied the steak and got condescending. Thankfully they made him a new one still a good place to eat if you arent picky and dont mind possible food poisning

Very bad service all of the food had been sitting out for hours. When told the food was cold and bad nothing was done about it. They continued to leave the old food out. Most of the employees wasnt wearing gloves, but trying to enforce gloves to be worn by customers. Would not recommend going nor will I be back worst experience and Golden Corral Ive ever been too.

Absolutely loved Golden Corral in North Charleston they made sure everyone social distance. They also made sure you cleaned your and every time coming up there and had a new pair of gloves and a Clean Plate and the service was great.

Smiling servers, prompt. Clean restrooms on our visit. Everyone is following the Covid 19 safety procedures. 4 stars instead of 5 because it was unbelievably cold inside. However, we appreciated that everything was clean and sanitary.

When we were seated a woman was there with what appeared to be her grandson. The entire area smelled of cat litter. We did not want to smell that while we ate, so we requested to change tables. You could tell they was not happy but did it. We moved to another table which the waitress there was irritated. So we got to the food. Dried out and old. Nothing was what we usually get at a golden corral. Steak couldnt even get cooked properly. He was too worried about making sliders and did not watch the steak. Was the worst visit we have ever had.

I went for breakfast. They didnt have a lot to choose from but the food was great. I also wanted an omelet, but you had to wait about 30 minutes and there was only two people in line so I had to skip the omelet.

Food and atmosphere is what it was expected too be. Food is always on point. Some times lacks seasoning, and some times rude waitresses, but always fixed with friendly notations to management. Will always return.

They are still requiring masks and a glove to touch the buffet but they cant keep hair out of the entrees. Far too expensive and too much hassle for sub par food.

Food needs to be changed for a fresher version...even if no one has the bravado to try it and it sets all day.

Ever since this virus has reared its ugly head I find that most restaurants are having trouble serving their customers with respect. But not here. They seem eager to please.
