ALCO Products put Hardy siding on our detached garage in southeast Capitol Hill. They were able to match the style and color of the Hardy installed on the house (by a different contractor) 10 years ago. The quality of Dani and his crews work was top notch. I hired Alco for a large siding, gutter and window replacement project to the addition on my rowhouse on Cap Hill DC. My sales associate Zak was personable, knowledgeable, attentive, and an overall pleasure to work with. He was patient and helpful in my decision-making and can-do without being too salesy.The project took longer than expected because of Covid-manufacturing delays, but the team that worked on our project was phenomenal. They were meticulous, conscientious, knowledgeable, and hard-working. They showed up when they were supposed to and left the work area clean. I hardly knew they were there!Even when we had a bit of a structural hiccup with our older house, Zak and his team brought in an architect to make sure everything was safe and sound. Alcos motto (according to the ads I see splashed everywhere on the internet) is Home Exterior Installation-- the Right Way. Since they dont seem to be using the term the right way in the conventional sense, I wanted to give potential clients an idea of the Alco approach.Based on my experience hiring Alco to complete my deck project, the right way apparently involves:- Assigning a disinterested, rude, and over-worked project manager who will rarely visit to check on progress/quality of the work. He will, however, be prompt and proficient at taking payment.- Failing to ensure that railing posts are plumb and then telling you its too late to fix it when you point it out.- Messing up the Cortex plug system to the extent that theyll then need to paint the entire deck trim to cover up holes, bulges, and other imperfections.- Using interior wood filler and interior paint on said deck trim, which promptly starts peeling after the first rain.- Promising to come and fix the peeling paint and crumbling wood filler, but never really intending to do anything about it.I tried to give these guys the benefit of the doubt, as they stepped in to the project mid-way. I reached out to one of the owners of the company for over a month trying to get them to repaint the peeling trim and Ive been blown off consistently. Im giving them two stars because they did finish the deck, but I cant imagine hiring them for another project. I never write negative reviews -- all my other Google company reviews are all 5 stars-- but this experience compelled me to do so.

When it came time for installation, they came back to ensure all of the measurements and specs were correct. They were thorough and timely and we would use them again!

They did siding, gutters, and roof for me. Transformed and upgraded the house. They are super experienced and good. They include all the details that make for a great looking and durable install. I cannot recommend them enough.

Their proposal was very detailed, included the product cut sheets and also explained the roof components to be installed. The installation crew was great too. They completed the work in one day as promised. We havent had any issues with the new roof.

These guys were amazing! They covered our woodpecker magnet plywood siding with sierra Hardie board, replaced old trim, removed the downspouts, and rerouted all cables into the house without missing a beat. In two long days they covered three sides of our large home, and left NOT A TRACE of debris behind! Then the painting crew came and applied two coats of high quality Behr paint in a little over a day. Again, left everything in perfect shape and spotless. They even covered our rose bushes to protect them from debris and paint splatter. The crew supervisor was responsive to all questions and made sure that our every need was addressed. Bravo!

We had them come out to give us a quote. Had to follow up 4 times to actually get one. It wasnt until a month later when we told them we were going with someone else that they actually sent us a quote. Four weeks to get a quote is pretty ridiculous I wouldnt waste my time.

The owner, an older gentlemen, was dismissive when he came to our house. Obviously thought perhaps we couldn’t afford the work. He wasted our time and never came back to give us a quote. My wife was actually turned off by his behavior. I’d avoid this company. If this is how they treat you presales, just imagine how they will after they take your money.
