Good place to shop for your 4 legged pets or any pets. Nice and clean place a bit pricey but what else is new. Everywhere else is going up. My boy Lilo says I love my chicken meatballs 😋

GROOMINGIf I could give 0 starts for the grooming at the military highway location I would. No I would give them negative stars because they will not accept my dog because she has epilepsy (seizures). They were rude when they told me they wouldnt give her a simple nail trim simply because she she has a medical condition. My dogs epilepsy has NEVER been an issue for groomers before. These people are not accepting of any animal with medical conditions. Do NOT bring your animals here if they have medical problems!!HOWEVER!!! The rest of the store is great! We love coming here for treats and toys for our dogs. I would rate the store itself a 4/5.

I love this place! The staff is amazing, friendly and pleasant. My baby’s food is always in stock. I love to see all the cute things for your pets especially during the holidays.They do need cat groomers badly. My cat takes a bath but she needs it professionally done and a hair trim. She sheds so much.

Despite the terrible customer service in the past, I had a WONDERFUL experience with the new stylist. I want to personally give a thank you and GREAT job to Tasha and Margaret. They were determined to make sure my ella looked good and was taken cared of. They did a AWESOME job on her. Margaret is running a solid team of new stylist and I am confident the shop is in great hands. Thank you!!!

Definitely a great place to shop! So many options and the cashier was knowledgeable and helpful! My only concern would be to have more associates to ask if you need assistance because we were overwhelmed for a bit trying to find new items for our dog. Will return for sure!!

I had an appointment. I showed up on time (actually a little bit early). There were three groomers, but no dogs being groomed at that time. They asked me to wait outside. I waited 20 minutes and they still werent ready. I walked out. Their service sucks. Definitely not worth it

Hard to get help but wasnt a bad experience

I have always liked this PetSmart. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. The store is JUST the right size. Most of the time I know what I need, I can get in, get the product(s) and get right out. Unfortunately the last couple of times due to staff shortage there has been a little bit of wait time to check out. Please DO NOT let that discourage you, only a little friendly advice to be patient.

A great place for your pets to meet other dogs and doggy parents who care about their dogs. We have been coming here since my dog was 8 weeks old and she is now 16 years old! She even took the obedient School when she was a puppy. She still remembers a lot of her commands from those classes. This is an excellent place to socialize your dog.

Curbside here is less than ideal, you’re better off going inside. Why have a curbside option if you’re not going to have people available to fulfill your order? Instead I had to call the store twice to get my order finally brought out. Next time I will go to a different location if I need the convenience factor of doing curbside.

On occasion I take my family to PetSmart to browse the selection of tank decor and exotic animals they have. I love the fact that no matter what questions we have, we get answers! The folks here are well informed and have great suggestions because they are pretty lovers also. They also informed me that they price match chewy.com!

PetSmart is okay if youre not getting live aquatic animals there. The parakeets seem to be in pretty good condition and Ive even bought a couple myself, however we all know that there are dead fish in the tank constantly. They appear to have been in there for a significant amount of time as well, to stick to the back walls and rot. Its sad, for the employees to say sometimes we dont have time to get them all but when you need an associate, nobody is to be found. Hm.

Grooming services are great. Like that theres a vet there as well, able to make an appointment quickly. The store is clean and staff is helpful.

They were busy, but friendly. I needed a different size trimmer attachment for my Andis Dog Groomer and not sure what fit. The lady i talked to didnt know so she asked one of the other employees and they got me right.

Took my Siberian husky Poseidon to get groomed, they were quick and did an amazing job! Will definitely bring him back here for now on to get groomed

Typical chain pet store. Clean and pretty well stocked shelves. The fish sales were suspended recently and then months before that they refused to sell select fish due to “stress” so not really sure what’s the deal with fish care or maybe its shipments but either way there’s a quality control issue.

First time that I have taken my pup Sakari to be groomed at PetSmart. They took great care and did an excellent job. We will definitely be returning again and again. Thanks for the awesome job.

Ok customer service 🙄There dog tags. Darlene the cashier was giving great customer service. She was very understanding of the exchange I had to do. She did it fast a quick. She alone get 5stars.She had developed a long line it took awhile before someone came to help her.Problems with the dog tag machine and no came over to help us. Three customers before me and line developed behind me.Either short staff or lack of service 🤔🤷Ill try again....

It is nice to see that they once again have live critters for sale. Birds, Gerbils, Hamsters and even a Snake.

They take care of my aunt with fish all the time with no worries. Knowledgeable with fish.

Wish everything I needed was in stock but that’s alright, I’m not sure why the hornworms are so expensive now as I could price match with Pet Paradise a year ago but they won’t let you anymore. Not sure if they know pet paradise is just better all in all or?

Took our dog there for dental cleaning and for her pedicure. Husband picked her up and she was bleeding, we thought like ok, a little fresh cut, that will heal. So next day she was bleeding a lot, after we called them they suggested just to use some corn starch. A week later she started to bleed a lot after a long walk. I called them and told them which finger is an issue, once got there said the same. They came out with a paper statement that every finger was examined by the dr and it’s her fault to be biting her fingers. After i said that’s impossible, they checked again and realized she has a fracture, and removing her nail will cost $200-$300. Literally hours before my labor. We took her to other location and were helping us to help her, since we have insurance with them anyway. So we couldn’t imagine how more difficult our lives can be. She still wears the cone as now she keeps leaking her foot.

Generally very stocked, aisles are wide and choices are plentiful, my only issue is its not terribly well lit so I often have to use my own phone to read labels. What an odd thing to need in a store.

Got fresh pizza bites and cinnamon bites. When I order the service stated the pizza bites were old give me one moment to get just some fresh ones! Impressed.

Your hours are ridiculous.if you ope. The veterinary clinic at 8:00, open the whole store at 8. Prices are getting out of hand too, not to mention the continous lack of stock if anything in this store. Do better. There is no reason for 25 people to be standing outside waiting because you only opened part of the store

Its a basic big box store. Just like with hardware the big stores have better prices but at the cost of someone there with 10 or 20 years experience. Will never replace the neighborhood pet shop...if there are any of the those left.

Store is okay. Its always nicely kept. Staff is courteous.It turns me off because their items are SUPER EXPENSIVE for NO REASON! Some of the stuff they sell (eg dog toys and treats) can be purchased at the Dollar Tree. They want you to spend $10-$15 for a chew toy. The dog is just gonna chew it up anyway. Get this!! A deer antler $25 for a tiny piece!! And Goat hide or something prices the same. I can save nearly $5 - $8 getting the same dog food at the Military Exchange or Commissary. Just too expensive!!! I shop there only for emergency or convenience (I had no other options).

I wasnt reallyimpressed .I went there to look at the dogs for adoption and asked the girl that worked there where they were and she says that they didnt have any now because of covid. I really cant understand why covid stops dogs from being adopted. I mean last I knew dogs couldnt get the virus.

Checked in to see if the Banfield was open. They were.

I took my 9-month old puppy to get bathed and nails trimmed at the grooming center here. I should mention this was his first grooming appointment and my first experience taking an animal to get groomed, so I had no idea what to expect. Right off the bat, the groomer said she had a broken rib and would require the assistance of another groomer, who was new. Kinda weird and she should probably not be at work grooming active dogs. Anyway, I asked when I should come back and she said it could take anywhere from 1-5 hours...I should have left right then, but he really needed his nails trimmed. Me and my 6-yo daughter left him there and we were walking through the store for about five minutes and I see the groomer walking toward us. She proceeded to say that he bit her when the other groomer cut one nail and yelped, then proceeded to “choke himself” (they use barbaric slip leads and he’s used to a harness). She said he was too nervous and would need to be groomed at the vet and sedated. Fast forward taking him to our vet, he was in and out in 5 minutes getting ALL his nails trimmed. No muzzle or sedation required. These petsmart groomers don’t know what they’re doing and only groom lethargic dogs I guess. If you’re thinking of taking your pet here for grooming, take them literally anywhere else.

Pop all fresh & clean

My usual pet store is petco and I recently moved to Virginia and the store closest is petsmart. Today was my first time going and I must say I am disappointed and uncomfortable. There are some cool items there but its so hard to comfortably view some of the items on the shelve because of the claustrophobic layout. I feel like the main isle to get around are tight and I can stand still to look at the reptile are anything on the shelves because Im in the way. The register also forms a line the leads in into the other main pathway through the store. I feel like Im stuck in traffic. The other issue I have is the customer service in the pet grooming. The groomers seem unsure and kind of lost in the job. My dog usually go with any groomer I take him to excitedly but this time he was kinda reluctant. I also didnt feel that welcomed, when I walk into a store I want to feel positive and feel the positivity from the people assisting me. Very lackluster environment.

Terrible customer service. Two times I use the curbside pickup, they never came out to the vehicle after 20 minutes of waiting. I had to go in and stand in line for 10 minutes only to receive nasty attitudes from the cashiers. Who knew working around pet food give you such a terrible outlook on life 🤷🏿.

An agent did help us out a lot on our purchase, however there was urine on the floor by the first check out I reported it to the cashier in the 2nd booth at the register and she suggested for me to get it up I told her it was not my pet and I discovered it as I was checking out she was not moved by my request and I reported the mess to the cashier who checked us out. She did act on it. I will not be returning to this store no time soon! Very disappointed about the lack of cleanliness and care in the store.

I wasnt to excited about what I saw, it has went down hill since its opening. The didnt really have a lot of thing I was looking for, far as birds go. Plus I think its kinda cute to let customers being there pets, but not sure I feel comfortable with that ideal. Some of these pets are mean, and will start barking at other dogs in the store. Just not a fan of them.

Pet Smart was lovely to visit. I had a tag made for my pup, and the machine worked flawlessly. The staff there were helpful, and they had everything stocked on the shelves. The only thing I could possibly say is that I would love if they carried the 4Health dog food and products. Please do this!! Thank you PetSmart!

I just love this place for my Dog.

Needed a lamp to replace the mini scorcher in our bearded dragons tank before it burned our precious reptile. No problem, found a non lethal basking lamp instead of the George Hamilton jerkymaker that preceded it.Best part is my dog loves to shop here too!He checks out the wetlands surrounding it featuring a retention pond in back that hosts a flock of geese and the urban campsites that are a sign of the times.Ready to browse Petsmarts newest creatures and toys in we go. First to the fish. Our dog likes a nice tank of tropical fish. I think its therapeutic. Next the water fountain where paper bowls are ready to serve a thirsty shopper.OKAY, now for the best part. Our associate sees how much the complementary treat means to our canine and doubles down til its a meal. Said he looked hungry. How can we keep him on the farm after that?Seriously, animals and children do have influence.

Rudest Banfield staff over any Petsmart location. Most presumptive “professionals” I’ve encountered. They begin with assuming pet parents are idiots and irresponsible. I’ll be driving 35 mts out of my way to take my fur baby to the va Bch location.

The front desk staff at the pet checkup/dropoff spot was very rude and was not ready to answer to the point. Did not checkin the weight of my pet and almost choked my pet with the leash and I had to interfere twice to handle my puppy carefully. Ill add her name here once I pickup my pet. This is frustrating and I will never go this place again.I would go to the VA beach location instead though its a 25min drive. Not a right person to work at this place.

Super long line every time i go to this location. The cashiers are slow but very friendly which is why I gave 3 instead of 2 stars. While they are very nice they just spend a little too much time chatting away when they should be getting the line moving.
