I’ve never reviewed anything but I knew before I left that I’d need to post this review as soon as I got home. Probably my best haircut experience ever. Desmond is amazing.I had an appointment with a different stylist for myself and my six year old daughter. The stylist left me a voicemail two days ago notifying me that they needed to reschedule; I didn’t listen to it (my fault). Thankfully Desmond worked us in seamlessly. My daughter was done in about 15 minutes flat with a perfect cut. Then Desmond resurrected my hair from 20 months of no professional cuts and two at home haircuts. We both look great and the experience with this salon was a masterclass in customer service.I just moved to the area and have been terrified of finding a new person to cut my hair. So relieved I nailed it on the first try. THANK YOU DESMOND!!

He asked me if I liked it long or short, I told him long and like it was (straight, a line). He cut it then hair coloring. The service was ok, but after coloring, he kept cutting my hair, and I told him that it is looking too short, and he said “do not worry, just layers”, and he continued. I never asked for layers and my hair is extremely short now!

Loved it! The whole place was very clean and well set up for covid but still felt welcoming and relaxing. Desmond was my Stylist and I Would recommend him any day of the week!

The salon is very comfortable, well styled, clean, and there is good distance between stations. Bruce is incredibly nice and listens to exactly what you want when styling your hair. Also, he is one of the only people who understands my hair texture and it has not been this healthy in years. For nails, both Grisseth and Zenobia do a beautiful job!

Taking Covid protocols seriously. love Jessica A, my stylist for many years. The salon is adding services and always looking clean, you cant go wrong here with anyone, they will take care of you.

Angel was fantastic, and I left with a cut that kept my length, freshened me up, and works really well with my natural waves!

Kelly Henson is my lady and I love her bunches. I have been coming to this sal for n for over a year and love it! Classy and hip feeling place with several services offered. I can only speak for the hair cuts and color but I love it!

I love this salon. Jessica has been cutting my hair for years and wouldnt go elsewhere. Theyre also following all pandemic rules and I feel very comfortable going in there.

The nail technician Mrs. Scales is wonder. This building and the set up are great. Very clean.

This was my first time trying this salon and I got Rachel. I had an idea and photo of what I wanted, however, in the end, it didnt even resemble what I was going for. Not impressed.

This hair salon is spectacular. Prior to coming in I had an appointment with G Patton salon for color change and cut. My hair turned out horrible, the roots were extremely lighter than the rest of my hair and the rest was dark brown. The roots turned out brassy, it just didn’t look right at all. However I didn’t realize all this until I got home, so I called Edward Johnson Salon requested by a friend because I didn’t want to go back to the other one and they told me to come in right away. I went and Jessica fixed my hair, I asked her to do what’s best for me and she did. Originally I wanted chestnut brown hair but it wasn’t at my best interest because it meant using bleach causing more damage to my hair after so many treatments. Therefore I decided to go dark again with some natural highlights. Jessica did an incredible job she even fixed my haircut. I’m so happy I called when I did, she’s an expert. I am looking forward seeing her soon, I highly recommend her because she obviously knows what she’s doing. I thank Edward Johnson Salon and Jessica for making my hair look flawless:)

Glenn is a master at cut and color and whenever I am unsure of what I want or need I know I can trust him to be honest and efficient. Likewise Jessica is a master at beautiful up-dos and is a pleasure to be around. Look no further for your go-to salon.

I love Edward Johnson Salon and the staff that I have had encounters with have the perfect balance of professionalism, as well as engaging in friendly conversation. I never leave there without a smile on my face. It is a very diverse team, which I LOVE! As long as Kelly Rose is a cosmetologist I will be coming to this beautiful, peaceful, yet modern salon. I ALWAYS feel welcome when I walk through the front doors by everyone who works there. I also have 5 children and 4 of them are girls, so there is typically always a child that wants to have a Mommy/daughter day out. They never give me a hassle when one of my daughters join me. My youngest 12 yr. Old daughter actually aspires to be a cosmetologist when she is older, due to her experience with the staff, clients and just watching Kelly do her magic on her Mommy! Thank you to this wonderful team for always making me and my children feel welcome and thank you to Kelly Rose for always making me feel beautiful when I leave your chair! You are the rainbow to the many storms that I am enduring at this difficult time in my life.

Ask for Bruce! I have been coming to him for years at several different salons and he does a fantastic job. They just did an awesome renovation and expansion in their space and it is fantastic. You should definitely check this place out!

BRUCE was simply amazing!! Phenomenal. Kind. Patient. The list could go on and on!! I love him and had such a great experience with him that I can’t wait to see him again. Sooo I scheduled an appointment with him to do green hair. I was so nervous because I have never done a color before like that but green is my favorite color and I wanted something new, different, and exciting. He took his time with my hair and did everything with eloquence and precision. You could feel him putting his positive energy in my hair. My normally quiet introvert self was able to open up to him and we had a great conversation. Bruce is my go to and I will never go to anybody else as long as I’m in the Hampton Roads area. He executed my vision better than I could have imagined! He astounded me with his personality and his talent. I’m so glad I listened to my fellow friend that referred me to him. Also the atmosphere is quaint and charming!! I definitely recommend this salon!! Support GOOD people!!

I was stunned by Michael’s talent in both color and styling. I was unable to explain how I wanted my hair. He simply looked at my hair, listened to my input, and offered suggestions of what would work for me. He was able to create EXACTLY what I wanted.The products he used transformed my hair from frizzy and dull to completely smooth and brilliantly shiny.Will I ever visit another stylist? NEVER!!!!

While I lived in Norfolk, I went to 3 other hair salons before finding Bruce. He is amazing! Beautiful haircuts and styles and he listens to what you want. I had to move to Elizabeth City for my hubbies job and still would drive the hour to have him cut and color my hair. I have dark hair that can be hard to dye and he always gave me great color. He is kind and wonderful to talk to. You won’t regret going here! It’s a beautiful salon with a wonderful staff. I had to move to Michigan for my husbands job again and boy do I miss my my sessions with Bruce!! Their reviews really speak to the work! This salon is a must in Norfolk!!

I was referred to Glenn from a friend after I wasnt pleased with the blah-look that another well-known salon in Norfolk gave me. I went into my appointment with a broad idea in my mind of how I wanted my hair to be and was open to his suggestions about how my hair should be cut for my face shape. Glenn was able to make my hair look exactly how I envisioned it. Its nice and light, it frames my face well and the color is so natural. I made a second appointment right there.This is a great, professional salon.
