Communication between the families and the counselors is less than stellar. I was finding out things at the LAST second, through others involved not even from our counselor. Our counselor was constantly changing times on us, nothing was ever made clear, she refused to give us her phone number. we were met with a LOT of hostility when we pointed out that communication was lacking and it was effecting our family. Overall, I’m not thrilled with their staff. They all are in perpetual bad moods, its ridiculous. They’re unable to leave their personal lives at the door and be professional with us.

This post is my experience only at the Norfolk VA location. Im a mom of an adult autistic son. on Tuesday Jan 12, 2021. My son & I had an assessment to begin services with a male therapist. The young lady that did his assessment was extremely compassionate and very patient with us. once the assessment was over she advised us that the male therapist would be in touch to schedule a session. A week goes by no telephone call nor an email from the therapist. I emailed the young lady to make her aware that I havent heard anything from this therapist. She apologized and assured me that she gave the therapist my contact information. 45 minutes after my email to the young lady the therapist then email me stating that he called my sons phone. But oddly there was no voicemail nor was there a missed phone call from the therapist. RED FLAG #1 . I Emailed the therapist to let him know there wasnt any voicemails to my sons cell phone. I then left my cell phone number and asked him to please contact me. The therapist not only did not respond to my emailbut never called me. RED FLAG #2. The next day Tuesday Jan 19, 2021. I emailed the young lady to let her know how unprofessional my sons therapist is. No phone call nor a email. I told her I decided to find another Company because the professionalism was no where to be found at this company. Later that night I receive a email at 11:30pm from the therapist explaining how busy he was with training and he just got home. 11:30pm How is that okay? No follow up call next day. No follow up email. Nothing. That email that the therapist sent at 11:30pm didnt come from a place of concern. He had to cover his track to make it seem like he was at least trying to do his job. Clearly he FAILED!! RED FLAG #3 so in an effort to try to have this issue addressed, I left a voicemail for the regional director on expressing my concerns on Wednesday Jan 20,2021 at 8:30am. Guess what? No follow up call... Professionalism should NOT be compromised. These people only care about a paycheck, while peoples livelihoods and mental health is at stake. If your seeking a reputable company that is going to guide you through lifes problems RUN!!!! THIS IS NOT THE COMPANY.
