I highly recommend this location! The people are great, professional, and truly honest. I have taken my car here several times and have always received excellent quality service at a good price. They won’t try to tell your everything is broken and charge you up the wazoo like a lot of places. This past time I started hearing a rattling noise when I went to work and called to ask about dropping off my car to be seen after work. I wouldn’t be able to drop it off during business hours and they were really nice on the phone and explained I could drop it off and put my key in the after hours box and would take a look first thing in the morning. By 9am the next morning it was already seen and fixed! My family has taken their cars several times for different services and definitely recommend.

I brought my truck in to get the brakes done and an oil change. I was very pleased with the service and the time it took to complete. The staff was very friendly and helpful in answering all my questions and the manager Ricardo also followed up when I picked up my car to make sure everything was satisfactory. I went in for an oil change on a Sat. afternoon, I was fortunate that no one was there. I was excited because this means I can get in and out quickly. They pulled my car in and in about 30 minutes they were done.

Best experience at a repair shop in 40 years experience. Very detailed diagnostic report. Courteous, respectful, attention to detail. Was able to observe repair process which was competent and careful. Respected interior with seat and floor coverings. Very fair (better) pricing compared to other local shops. Only 75 minutes total from my appointment time to drive away for entire rear brake service, and all stalls were full and more cars were arriving. I shall return ! !

I took my car here 10/17/2020. They did a good job on my car for Radiator Flush and transmission fluid change. Ricardo was very courteous and have provided good customer service. I had forgotten to mention about my fog lights since I know 1 of them was out and he offered to check them and replaced it for free. Thank you again, I highly recommend them!

Liers... I called at 3:02pm and was 10 minutes away before I came and explained to him it was a limo and running late... cant wait. He said no waiting and will replace right away. Buying two new tires. After almost 30 minutes... manager says it will be 10 minutes when tires will come.He didnt tell me that he had no tires in stock. Right now Im running late for my pickup.Manager says not his problem when I said I am running late. Did not I tell him that I had no time to wait before coming.No apology and no discount.4:21pm pulling out... they had no cars in front of me. Should have been done less than 30 minutes...

This place was recommended to me via a Niles community group. I was very pleased. Ricardo was very nice & professional. Writing this review for Joe B., but My mom and I have used this place for years. Refered joe for his oil change, was very happy with service and would like to give a shout out to Ricardo for being very helpful.

Staff were friendly enough, but I brought my car in to have a muffler assembly bought and installed. I had looked up prices online to ballpark around what the cost would be. It should have been ~$180-$190 for the muffler and ~$125-$150 for labor. I was quoted at ~$480 before labor ($586 including labor). It didnt feel like the right price, so I brought it to a muffler specialty shop and they quoted me $300 like I thought it should be.Total rip offs

A couple of friends recommended I go to this Car-X location and talk to Ricardo to get my truck repaired that recently had a ball joint give out. Ricardo got my truck up and running very quickly and was up front and honest with what repairs needed to be done. I will definitely recommend this location and Ricardo to my friends.

They have good service. Been their for oil change twice and a brake job. Get the job done on a reasonable time. So far, Im happy with their job and service.

The only complaint is that I didnt see them torque the lug nuts to manufacturer specifications. On most cars, they would have been at or higher than the torque requirements with the impact wrench, but the 2017 Ford Edge requires 162 ft-lbs of torque on the lug nuts (directly out of the owners manual). I got home and had to torque them myself to get them there. This could lead to a safety issue which is why I cant give them 5 stars. Other than that it was a good experience and a reasonable price.

BEWARE! This place takes advantage of people. Please do your homework before you go here because they severely overcharge you for work being done. Ricardo is the manager and although he seems helpful, he will overcharge you for the work being done. I have tried to get work done here multiple times, but I am always forced to leave because I find a better price elsewhere. Most recently, I needed work done on my Alternator. For the parts and the Labor, he quoted me at $647 without the lifetime warranty. I called around and found another Car X and got a quote from them. The other Car X quoted me at $413 after taxes for labor and parts. Below I attached a photo of the GOOD estimate from another CarX. RICARDO IS COSTING PEOPLE HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS.

I’ve been going to Car-X for some time now, getting various repairs done to both of my vehicles. Hands down, without a doubt, Ricardo goes above and beyond for his customers. He’s very, very polite, amazingly courteous, phenomenal with being informative about what repairs are needed and not needed (especially after going to another local shop down Dempster St. and being informed that, I would need $3,700 done in suspension work). Turns out, I only needed my control arms replaced. Technicians/Managers like this, is what more shops need. When I leave this shop, (even if I come in for an inspection) I never leave feeling like, I have or will over pay for repairs that I don’t need. Or, that the Technician or Manager has gotten over on me with a price quote. I would definitely recommend to anyone in need of repairs or just an inspection, to go see Ricardo. He and his team, will take care of you and your vehicle.

I went for alignment they did the alignment on broken part and when I went somewhere else to duable check because I feel its not good just tire show me this car is out of alignment so I go there they didnt provide me before and after print of alignment and the one of the employees who did the alignment do misbehave with me too badDont go there this is the worst place to do alignment

Bought new brakes with a life time warranty. Within weeks the new brakes were squeaking. Took the car back four times over the course of five months and everytime was told that they had tightened something or fixed something else. On the fifth time bringing the car in they said yeah its going to cost you almost $800 its not a brake issue. Took it to another shop that fixed everything for $150. Never going back even with this lifetime brake warranty.

Ricardo was very kind and helpful and really went out of his way to make sure I got what I needed! I stopped up the car x down the road, and the shop manager there had been short with me and very unwilling to help, since it was near closing time, so I left. Online it said that this location was open later so I called and asked if they’d be able to take my car in. Ricardo was so friendly and kind, such a different tone than the last manager I’d talked to. The shop was clean and the whole team got my needs taken care of, even though they were busy. I also found out that their hours online were wrong- they closed at 5, just like the other location, but they were still willing to take care of my car tonight. I got an oil change and my tires replaced, and I was out right on time to make it to my next appointment, and it only took about an hour. The roads were starting to get very snowy, but the new tires helped so much and gave me peace of mind. Thank you guys!

My husband and I purchased a new car from owner and brought it here for an oil change. After Ricardo (Store Manager) took the car in and evaluated it, he told us that the car was no good, and if possible we should try to get our money back. We were lucky enough to have purchased from a good person and he exchanged the car for another car he owned, we brought that car right to Ricardo to do a full pre-owned vehicle evaluation which only cost $19.99 they checked everything and deemed this car a much better buy since the only real issue was a couple of belts needed to be replaced. Im so thankful that Ricardo was up front and gave his honest opinion about original car otherwise we wouldve ended up spending thousands on a repairs for a car we just purchased.

I have been with car-x for years, but have stopped deal with them anymore. The managers were terrible! They might making money from commission, so almost every signal time they ask me to replace something not necessary to be repaired. Be ware, before you step into the shop, you really have to know what you need and what you arent need to be repaired.One time after my oil change, some fresh oil spill out all over the top of engine. Guess what! the manager Rex told me that my engine Volvo line gasket leaking which needs to be replaced. Cast $600. I went to another auto repair shop for inspection, and be told those fresh oil are from oil change, not from engine gasket leaking! Saved me $600. But wasted me 2 days driving around for the problem.Another time, I saw manger Frank slam the write/notice board on the table in front of 3 customers, because the disagreement with a customer.This is all I can tell your guys. I still think they are OK, but I will not go backGood luck to you
