Livius tutoring has been a great benefit to my son. They are very professional and punctual implementing and executing the tutoring sessions. Their promptness for sending out information and reminders are excellent. The classes are interesting, interactive and very informative. My son loved the sessions and looked forward to logging on for them. I only wish we had heard about them sooner. Please give them a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Our first interaction with Livius was a consult with Kristi where we discussed my daughter’s goals in detail. At the time my daughter and I were auditioning a number of different SAT-prep services. We determined that the best first step was to take the Livius Comparison Test, a thorough diagnostic that helped us understand whether the SAT or the ACT would be a better fit. We established a convenient testing timeline and confirmed a schedule with a Livius tutor.Unfortunately this tutor was not a good fit…at all. But to their credit, and despite the fact that we had one foot out the door, the Livius team understood our concerns, and responded rigorously to provide other options and a new schedule. The result was transformational. The new tutor, Reza, did an amazing job with both strategy and tactics, helping my daughter understand where she needed to focus her macro and micro efforts to win back the points she had missed on previous tests. Reza’s expertise, as well as the consistent data and established curriculum that Livius provided were critical to that process. My daughter was able to increase her scores, helping make her a competitive applicant for the top-tier schools to which she planned to apply.My daughter had such a good experience with the Livius SAT prep, that she decided it might be good to also have another point of view on the entire college application process. Livius then matched her with Jodi, an extraordinary college counselor who was able to additionally help my daughter make the most of the more qualitative aspects of her college application. My daughter knew that great SAT scores weren’t enough, and Jodi was an instrumental resource and coach for helping her identify and further articulate accomplishments/interests/passions into a holistic application that was even more compelling. My daughter was grateful to be accepted to schools that were important to her, and most importantly to her top choices: Harvard and NYU. My daughter’s work with Livius was a very helpful component of all that she did to make compelling cases for her candidacy at the schools she was most interested in.Throughout the process, Kristi and Rebekah on the admin team were quick to respond to our questions, needs and concerns. The team was friendly and enthusiastic and genuinely invested in my daughter’s overall experience and success. They were genuinely interested in helping my daughter further curate and take fuller ownership of some of the life skills she deployed with the schools that she was passionate about. Livius is a great non-family resource and the team is best-in-class. I can’t recommend their services highly enough!

Whats great about the Livius Foundations class I took: It was free; it gave original, valuable strategies that improved my score; the instructor asked questions to keep us engaged; he answered questions to clarify; and he did demonstrations!The only thing I would say to improve it would be to do more problem demonstrations.

These classes were really helpful for me and I felt very assured as I went to take my ACT. Lindsey was really helpful in going into my scores and the session helped me to understand them.

The Livius ACT course is tailored to your childs specific needs. They do a series of assessments with detailed analysis to personalize the instruction 1 on 1. We took the foundations course first and did the 1on 1 tutoring along with the online course. The tutors are great and really help your child learn strategies and skills to get their score up.

After interviewing a few different college preparatory companies we settled on Livius decidedly for the people. I believe that the menu of options from others is similar, but the aptitude, experience and enthusiasm of the entire Livius team seemed much higher. The end result for us after participating in the essay prep, standardized test prep and college counseling was acceptance into one of our stretch schools. My daughter started out by participating in the free online essay workshop. Working through those sessions made it evident to me that she needed help with the college application process and definitely more that what I could offer her. We signed up for 10 hours of college counseling, from essay help to reviewing her resume and application. I can genuinely say that it was completely worth every penny and that she is confident and proud of what she has accomplished in her sessions. All the Livius staff we worked with have been helpful and knowledgeable. Her coach Harpreet was amazing! He guided her through every step of the process and provided excellent feedback. I feel like her application is strong and that their sessions have been helpful to polish her application and to improve her writing in general. We signed up for the college counseling package at Chyten and we were very happy with the service. Our college counselor, Lance, was extremely helpful with my son’s college application/admissions process. He provided assistance with essays and choosing colleges that had the right programs for my son. He was always willing to help and promptly answered my emails/messages. At the end, my son had received acceptances to top schools. I was very happy with his service and I will be bringing my second child to him as well! Highly recommended.

Prior to attending The Chyten Center in Newton, I struggled with the entire college process. However, once I met Lance Beverly (one of the instructors), he guided me with a plan to formalize a personal essay, as well as any of my supplements. He provided me with great feedback on my essays on a continual basis, as well as helped me find colleges to apply to. From the day I met him, I knew he genuinely wanted to help me and see me succeed. If I didnt get Lances help than I wouldnt have got into the majority of colleges that I applied to. Aside from Lance, the other staff members at Newton Chyten are always welcoming and maintaining a smile, keeping you in an environment where you feel you belong!

As a high school student attending school abroad, applying to US universities was quite challenging for me, but Chytens services made the process much easier to navigate. My tutor, Mr Beverly, was very understanding and kind to work with, as he helped me along the way during the application process. In addition, he was always readily available for me to contact (whether it was via Skype, email, or by phone) which made the process go by more efficiently. Im really glad I chose their services!

We can’t say enough positive things about Chyten’s test preparation methods and people. Our daughter’s ACT score went from a composite 24 to 29 in less than 30 hours of one-on-one tutoring. Her science went from a 22 to a 31, with similar improvements across 3 of the 4 test areas. She is not a natural test-taker, but needed to take the ACT for admission to the colleges of her choice. Chyten’s tutor (Stella) not only taught our daughter how to approach the mechanics of the ACT, but she learned the material thoroughly. Chyten’s tutor (Stella) fully grasped her situation and gave our daughter constant positive reinforcement throughout the process. We watched her evolution from a reluctant, reticent test-taker to confident student. Chyten (Stella) encouraged our daughter, so much so that she looked forward to outperforming herself each week on practice tests. What we witnessed in the process of ACT prep with Chyten was the emergence of a more mature student, with rigorous study habits and excitement for the upcoming college admissions process. We feel compelled to also mention that we went through two other national companies before landing at Chyten, and we hope nobody suffers through the pain we experienced with the others. I will highly recommend Chyten to everyone who asks.
