My sales experience was great all the way through until the delivery of the vehicle that was the disappointing part the car was not cleaned you would think with Covid they would deliver the cars on a better condition both rear and front bumpers had repairs done and the work was poorly done the work was sloppy not to mention a rear headrest was missing when picking up the vehicle that’s the weirdest thing to be missing overall they got a 3 star because my sales person was great now

After a conversation about my previous car and what i was missing he was able to accurately recommended a car that not only suits me but love sitting in and driving daily. After a the coupon on their website that stated an inspection of the A/C could be done free of charge, I made my appointment thinking I didnt have anything to lose. I also wanted them to check out a brake squeak, which I also thought was harmless. After leaving my car with them for the day, I returned to a $140 diagnosis fee and a recommended service bill of around $2,500. At the very least the coupon I saw on their website was misleading. Mind you I drive an 11 Year old CR-V not a BMW. The so called A/C diagnosis lead straight to a bad ac compressor. One would think you could try a less expensive avenue for repair before jumping straight to the most lucrative (for the dealership) option. I felt less like a customer and more like a cash grab. Will not be returning, and I advise you stay away.

I went for an oil change here about a year ago, and it took almost 2 hours. I came back to give it another go, making an appointment for 12 o’clock. Clearly everyone is overworked which is too bad, but when you make your appointment that is an appointment to check in and is not an appointment for your actual oil change. Said wait was long. Clearly the guy is stressed to the max. I think I’ll see what else is out there. We are all stressed with being over worked, Covid etc… but this customer service didn’t improve it.
It’s like they don’t even try to negotiate on the price at all, it’s very strange and surprising. I had to go out of my way to try and get them to lower the price and the Dominican guy still wouldn’t budge at all, didn’t even call a manager over, and simply let me walk out the door.It feels almost insulting just because they look me like “poor people “ or because I am Hispanics and they thinks we don’t have money to buy a car

My experience at Honda Village was very lousy. I was waiting to be helped for about 20 mins. I told the sales guy that I dont know anything about Hondas - he didnt try to explain me anything. He told me that I cant choose what I want in my car, that they only have the most expensive version, least expensive version and the middle. I tried asking him to tell me the difference between those versions. He tried to change the subject every time. He gave me 2 cars to test drive and that was about it. I dont recommend Honda Village in Newton to anybody. They dont value customer experience. When I left Honda Village, I felt that the sales guy just waisted a 50 mins of my day.

Curtis also spoke to my mom on the phone and it was super sweet, they made buying my Honda so much easier with their kindness.
Be CAREFUL with of the sneaky tactics of their finance department. Everything was good up until the finance part of the deal. Google extended warranty required for car approval for your own view. Thankfully I had someone advised me that this is illegal. I was approved at a ridiculous interest rate and when I then said no thanks, magically my payment dropped but only with the exception of buying the extended warranty. I had a feeling this was a scam, so I left not signing anything. Thankfully I was advised by another previous dealership that it is illegal. When I emailed and asked for proof of final rate and writing of such since it is illegal, never got a response. I ended up back at the original dealership, where I got the best deal including a much much lower interest rate and no scams. I cannot imagine how many people have fallen for this illegal tactic.

I have leased my Civics for years from Honda Village and they’ve been great, including for regular servicing and any unexpected repairs (as when squirrels got under my hood and ate through wires). A great team, and comfortable place to wait around while services are being done. Though with COVID there’s no more popcorn, old-style arcade video games and donuts, they still have cable, plenty of seating, a business area for charging phones and making private calls, and a coffee machine. Recently bought out my 2018 lease, and the process was smooth. Peter is a friendly and very capable sales rep. Junior excellent in finance and kept the paperwork quick. Calvin in service also always a pleasure to work with. Another plus for Honda Village is that they also have free loaner vehicles which are very convenient. Though limited in supply, I’ve never had an issue with getting one if I needed it. Highly recommended.
Joshua Fink is a five star salesman. I met Joshua a few months ago and my first experience with him was incredible. Customer service with a dashing smile. He was very responsive (I always appreciate that) and got straight to it. He does not beat around the bush, he does what he can do at the best of his ability. He got my dream car in a second.When I got into an accident, he respected my space when I was considering going to another dealership (just to explore) but I ended up going right back to Josh whole shopping around for dealers. To no surprise Josh was the only one that brought their A game and now has gotten me my second car.Team up with him you won’t regret it. In fact, the team at Honda Village just offered up a lower price than the other dealership because thats how they are.I take my cars there for service because theyre thorough and the quality of their work. All past reviews about bait & switch tactics are true. Called 20 minutes before visiting about a car, and was told it was sold upon my arrival. Salesman then proceeded to chastise me that I need to call beforehand to check on the availability of cars, just like I had. I will also advise you to carefully read available records for any car that this dealership then trys to push on you after enticing you to the premises. Proceeded to try and sell me a car they didnt even own yet.
Shawn was really nice and friendly in helping get the auto services I had requested. We didn’t have any issues this time with scheduling and confirming our appointments. The estimated finished time was accurate and I was able to plan my day accordingly. I had detailing done as well and was happy about the results.

Reached out with regard to an instock vehicle. Was quoted $10,000 over msrp via text by salesman Joshua Fink. Upon declining and referencing realistic quotes from competing dealerships Mr. Fink was immediately deceptive, confrontational, insulting and boasted of other large markups the dealership had taken from willing customers. A salesman that starts with outright lies and ends with insults does not represent Honda Usa or Honda Village of Newton well.

TERRIBLE customer service, service repair and overall business management. If you want to be treated like a person shop here, if you want to be treated like a valued customer and receive your car in a reasonable amount of time this is not your place.This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I took off three days from work to pick up a car that was not ready, that is THREE days off. My sales rep told me why cant you just take another. I had to reach out to the General Manger and let him know I am a Program Director and explain I can not be out of pocket and continue taking days off unannounced. I should not have to go into the details of my personal life to be treated like a valued customer. Will not be shopping from here any time soon and will not refer to anyone. Not to mention I paid for my vehicle CASH, and was treated beyond poorly. I received my vehicle 18 days after I purchased it. And was told to drive to Boston 3x to get a car that was ready. Will NOT recommend to anyone I care about and if your reading this look elsewhere I promise the car is not worth the hassle.
Jason Kim is extremely responsive and kind. He was more than helpful during my experience. The only negative I have about my experience is that I brought my car around 3:30 and they were going to need to hold my car until the next day without offering a rental. Jason was helpful and figured this out for me! :) overall great experience other than having to spend money (but that is just having a car) haha!
They were very prompt and efficient. Told me it would take an hour for the oil change and tire maintenance and they were spot on. Not that I was surprised - they’ve always been extremely professional in all my dealings.

Purchased my vehicle from them earlier this year. Fair pricing on the used car; however I would of had to pay if I wanted any of the dents/scratches removed. Most recently I had my first oil change since owning the car at a local store (not here at the dealership). The mechanic told me I would need a new oil pan and that the bolt that was holding this together was completely stripped. I spoke with the manager and they said nothing they could or would do. I have the bolt to show but they werent interested. I called Honda corporate and since this is an independent location, there was nothing they could do either.Word to the wise---get your car inspected by a mechanic before purchasing from here.**** would like to revise my original review. Within two weeks Honda Village Service addressed my issue and fixed my oil pan. Phil helped me and he was great. He kept me well informed and called me back with any updates. For service-id absolutely go back.

I bought my car at Honda Village in 2013 and have been very happy, extremely happy, all these years with their fine care of my car and their high standards of customer care as well. I can always rely on them to do excellent work at fair prices.On this particular visit, during this COVID-19 pandemic, I was very impressed with their protocol and thoughtfulness. Phil in particular was great at staying in touch as I sat outside to wait for my car. I have a kidney transplant and can’t go inside any building except for my own home. He even directed me to a nice shady spot to set up my beach chair. I was able to pay for the work on my car, at Phil’s suggestion, over the phone with my credit card. And, of course everything was done to the highest standards. Thank you!
I recently purchased a Honda Civic, Washington Street, Newton MA 02458. Peter Ly was the salesman and he was the perfect gentleman. This was an outstanding experience, no fuss, no bother. I went in on Saturday and drove away with my new car on Thursday. I would highly recommend Peter and the Honda Dealership on Washington Street.
Had called in noon time Friday to set an appointment to see a pre-owned vehicle for Saturday around 12:15. Arrived on time for the appointment to be kept waiting for 40 mins just to find out the car is not kept on site and has some sort or electric issues so it wont turn on from a jumper. Being respectful of the customers time is not being considered by the dealership. Most dealers would normally check if the vehicle is available and operational, make a courtesy call earlier in the day to confirm arrival, and make sure the vehicle can be shown to the customer. Supposedly they would call when the vehicle is fixed, week later and it is no longer online. Safe to assume it was sold to someone else due to poor follow up on the dealer.
I worked with Minoska and Ferdinand on a Honda in their used inventory. Even though I did not ultimate make an offer on this car, their communication and professionalism were top notch. Would do business with Honda Village again.

I went to buy a car for my son today. First the salesman didnt know what he was doing. Then the financing person tried to screw us with a higher percentage. A third person came to tell us that we have to finance with them if not they couldnt approve the loan. Also another salesman didnt give me my military discount because I used my USAA Bank. They made us wait for 7 hours. That is how they treat the military personnel.

Took advantage of my elderly grandfather. They kept calling him and harassing him about turning in his lease 6 months early and signed him up for a new lease in a more expensive vehicle.He is 94 years old, they got him to sign a new lease and didn’t deliver the vehicle for another 30 days charging him a full month before he even got the car.
Thought online credit check was a soft check but turned out to be a hard check. Tried to follow up for more information to get a car since approved and silence from dealership. My schedule is hard so prefer text or email and no one gets back to me. Looks like another dealership will get my business.
Thank you Jose Ortiz for your exceptional customer service throughout my visit at H-Village! However, it has been over a week and I am still waiting for a call back from Finance. Out of the times I have called, I have yet to be given an answer. Today I go online, and the car I was waiting on an approval for is no longer on the website. If the car has been sold to someone else while Iam still waiting to hear back, the least that can be done is let me know. I was interested in other options. But the fact that nothing has been communicated, makes me no longer want to purchase a car here.
Phil was welcoming, professional, and efficient. The gentleman who took my keys and car away upon my arrival had a great sense of humor towards my dog. Thank you Honda Newton, the only place I’ll go for maintenance and maybe a new Honda someday soon.

Denzel was an amazing salesman. I went in to buy my first car and I wanted a certified pre-owned to get a good mix of value and reliability. Denzel worked with me to look at options that matched my needs and price point and then made sure to explain in detail the process and ensure I had a great experience. No pushy sales no false promises, just very professional and factual including any flaws in the vehicle. I walked out that same day the owner of a new Civic. The car had a couple things that needed to be taken care of after the fact and Denzel made sure they were all done and as painlessly as possible. I was genuinely impressed and the car is everything I had hoped. They definitely made a Honda fan with my interaction.
Replaced a failed, fairly new battery under warranty. A bit of pushback at first that the battery problem might be due to my driving rather than the battery itself, but they agreed to check it out. Battery failed the load test and they quickly replaced it. No charge and completed faster than expected.
Just had my truck serviced at Village Honda in Newton. I go out of my way for this location because past customer service has been excellent. This service was excellent too. Thank you!

My service advisor Phil Simmons was a super nice guy. He told me how long it would take and he delivered on his word. When my car was done, there was a tow truck blocking the garage door which created a jam but Phil kept coming out to let me know that the car was on it way. I had my first service experience at Village recently. My Service Advisor, Phil was quick, efficient and clear. Phil made the process simple and my car was done within the time specified. From the initial contact, through to the pickup process everything went smoothly. I wouldnt hesitate to use them again. Clearly they understand you have to treat customers with care or they will simply have their work done somewhere else.
The service was great! I wish I was provided Clorox wipes when I picked up my car. I would recommend having wipes/sanitizer available when customers pick up their car. They may have been their & I didn’t see them.

They have been maintaining my vehicle for a while and Ive been extremely happy with their service.Also additional repairs popped up this time but Philip has been very communicative with all the details. Great experience, start to finish. If you can, ask to work with Albert. He is a phenomenal sales consultant who defies the car salesman stereotype by truly working with you instead of just trying to close a sale. So refreshing after spending time dealing with sales staff at other nearby Honda dealerships. When it comes to buying cars, this was not my first rodeo -- but Albert nevertheless really impressed me by going above and beyond at every step. He actually somehow managed to make the car buying experience kind of, well... pleasant. Imagine that.

Terrible service.First issue was that I made an appointment over email to test drive two used cars that were on their website. At this point I didnt have a car and had to borrow a friends to get to the dealership. When I arrived I was told they couldnt find the cars I wanted to test drive. At this point I was left to walk around until I found a car that was the closest I could find to my price point, although still over my budget. I was able to test drive this car, then went back to the dealership to talk with the salesperson. There was no discussion of other options at this point. He brought the financing details and went over them with me, pushing me to purchase/finance this car.Since it was past business hours at this point, I was told I would have to come back the next day to see if I would be approved for financing. The financing person told me to come at 10:30am. I was able to get back the next day, right at 10:30, and had to wait for 2 hours to talk to anyone besides the person at the front desk.After going over what I was approved for, the financing guy told me, very last minute, after I had already made my down payment, that I would have to add a very expensive warranty in order for the financing to be approved. I dont know if this is normal, but seemed very sketchy to me. I had already made my down payment though, so I decided to go through with it.After already waiting for hours in the morning, I was told I could expedite the process if I contacted my insurance to make sure the paperwork was processed and forwarded as soon as it sent over. I called my insurance company and they said that they had faxed it over. It still look another hour and a half for the dealership to process this. Whoever was in charge said they hadnt received it yet, but this answer was given without actually checking anything.Finally, I was able to bring my car home, but while on my drive home my tire pressure light turned on and my a/c started making a whistling noise. I brought my car back the next day to have these things checked out. The tire pressure light was an easy fix, but at this point I was told the condenser was broken and the part was backordered and would take a while to come in. I got this car at the beginning of August and still havent been able to get this fixed (November). I reached out multiple times to explain my experience and no one I talked to gave a sh*t.Overall terrible experience. Will never buy another car from this dealership. Definitely do not recommend.

Why am I getting my car returned to me after being serviced by an employee not wearing a mask in MY OWN CAR? That shouldn’t be a special request I need to make when there are signs throughout your establishment saying your customers need to wear them there.

Couldnt have had a worse experience as a buyer. Car was there, came down to test drive it and did, and was happy as can be. Waited fifteen minutes for sales person, another fifteen or so to get the keys and tested the car I knew I wanted. Only to return and give the keys back and be told that oh it was actually sold already a half hour ago which would have to have been during the time I waited and or was testing it. But that didnt stop them from then offering me a more expensive car that was less impressive and double the miles. Unfortunately theyre just another dealer looking to misdirect buyers to more expensive options. This was my first and only experience at Honda Village, there will not be another. Unfortunately they just are what most are afraid of. Misdirect buyers to more expensive options.
For the type of service that was performed on my car, the service department was pretty quick. I like how honest the service department is. One issue that I have, the coupons that are sent out for particular services dont last long. By the time that I need a service done there are no means of saving money. I spend a lot at Honda Village for certain services and I feel I dont get much back. I wish their coupons would last longer.
Thieves!If youre not a citizen or PR, they will misguide you.They quoted me 10.19% APR initially, I researched more into it and was able to get 3.9%.Hope this helps to all the people who are new to financing car!
I will be honest the reason I’m giving this two stars because this dealership never disclosed about an accident that happened with a sales person to my car prior to me purchasing ! in the accident the airbag was deployed and wheel broken which worries me. This was not on Carfax either. I found out the information while getting an oil change at another dealership. They offered a full value trade in but there was nothing comparable to my car to where I would have no car payments. They didn’t offer anything just the trade in. I asked for money back because I initially paid based off a clean history and was denied. This is just very disappointing being that this is my first big car purchase and frankly makes me nervous. I would be careful going there.

For starters they are one of the few places that are answering their phones still, during Covid, the service was really quick and outstanding, they went above and beyond, I would definitely recommend them to friends
