I really love this quaint Newport store. Its difficult for me not to go in and browse. Unfortunately, during my latest visit (8/22/19 at 3:55 pm) the person working didnt seem interested in a customer. In order to purchase something I had to go to the back of the store and she was browsing on her phone. I asked her to help me and got a sure with an eye-roll. After my purchase, I barely got a thank you and definitely did not get eye contact but she reached again for her phone with a sigh. I didnt feel welcomed and felt as though I intruded on HER personal time.Not a good experience at all. I was very disappointed. Hopefully owner sees this and changes personnel.

I rarely do reviews but a stop into this store left such a bad taste in my mouth that I felt compelled to leave a rating and review. I was validated when I saw a review from two weeks ago from a customer that had a similar experience. I walked into this store on a Friday morning while vacationing in the area. A woman was sitting in the back area of the store working on something and upon entering the store I never got a hello, how are you, let me know if you need anything, etc. She never spoke a word to me. I continued to browse and really liked some of the stationery in the store and thought, Maybe she is in the zone and she will say hello shortly. I even walked closer to where she was sitting thinking maybe she just didnt even know I was there. After about five minutes of browsing and no common courtesy, I told my husband that I was done looking. I would have bought three items from here had she even given me the time of day, but I thought she was so incredibly rude that I did not want to give this business any business.
