Its a wholesale store. Whatever your looking for, its probably here. Its a one stop place. You can purchase tires, have something to eat, and do some shopping at the same time. You can shop for groceries, clothing, and household goods!Who wouldnt like that. I will say, the scan and go app is the way to go. I do recommend this place to everyone. Its always go to have a membership here.Dont forget to fill up your gas tank, Sams gas tends to be the cheapest!

As always lots of great deals. I got a toaster oven/air fryer, I go through the frozen food section and I am always finding new things to put in it. It enables me to eat restaurants food at a fraction of the price. Also recently got Hurley shirts for $11, son loves them.

Great place to bulk shop especially if you got college students.

Well stocked, very busy, meat counters well presented, fresh and full. LOW on 55 inch tvs. Paper products well stocked. Out of high test gas, regular available @ 277.9. Rotisserie chicken excellent!

Best place to shop for your buck. Best quality and quantity of food and household items and repairs on your car. Sam club is the ideal place to shop for money savings.

The shopping is fine, checkout - assisted or self - is fine. One elderly woman who has to scan almost everything in your buggy, 20+ customers lined up waiting to leave the store and another employee who nonchalantly meanders to the door to scan almost everything in someones cart is not fine. I heard the new scanner tell the woman in front of me that if you have 3 or more items in your cart they have to scan most of what you bought. I had 2 golf cart batteries. This same person scanned both of my items. It took me 10 minutes to exit the store. It is ridiculous that they scan so much of what you purchased. Not to mention the lackadaisical response to a bottleneck. This is not the first time I have experienced this same situation. I gave 2 stars for this specific incident. They need to fix this. Never had this problem at Costco.

I advise going earlier or near closing. Use the pay as you go app! It makes everything soooo much quicker.

It would be better if they had more help in there you have to wait so long in the line to purchase 1 or 2 items with some one paying cash. Every body dont want to use there credit card for small items. I know i dont

I love Sams. Always neat and orderly, the aisle organization always makes sense and I can SCAN MY STUFF AS I GO, PAY ON MY PHONE IMMEDIATELY WHEN IM DONE, AND WALK OUT. I never have to look at a register unless its a high value item. I LOVE this feature!!!

I normally love shopping at Sams club but today the lady that worked the door as you exit lacked customer service and held up the line by having another customer go back and get something. She didnt speak just said come on once she decided to check our items.

Couldnt find my cat litter that you sell and and you keep being out of stuff like those veggie Puffs I love get that stuff back in there thank you very much

Ive shopped Sams clubs from Ohio to Florida. Newport News store is the most ill run store I have ever been it. Poorly stocked, under staffed, poor supervision is the normal operation. Im glad COSTCO is just down the road.

Purchased Salmon, fish was spoiled. I asked to exchange it for another fish instead of exchanging the product she just returned it on a card that had been hacked so I cant get another fish card won’t work and the issue was I heard the other cashiers say the clerk that rang me up never ask the customer if they want to exchange before placing it back on the card. This is a teaching moment for Sams employee also there has to be another way to reverse the charge and make sure customer is taken care of. Broken Process

This Sam’s Club is located next to a Wal-mart which makes it difficult to get in to the parking lot. The selection is similar to that of many other chain bulk stores. When getting my membership I wasn’t informed that you can’t shop before 10 am unless you have an upgraded membership. Pretty well stocked on items. Check out could have been smoother. No signage about maintaining social distance. Has a cafe in which food is served and consumed without same social distance guidelines. The line to get out was long but moved quickly.

The associates were really helpful. I found just what I needed after roaming the store just looking at all the new things they got in. Sence I had only one thing and was paying with a card I was out the door in no time

Bought a prime brisket from here on sale for $48.00 and smoked it for 6 hours it was cooked perfectly and juices poured out. But low and behold this piece of meat had to be loaded with steroids it was so tough even your best chef couldnt tenderize this thing. Do not buy meat unless it comes straight from the butcher. This is the last time I make that mistake again.

Everyone was very friendly, the store was mostly clean, could of used several pallets and big boxes moved out of the way but overall good experience.

The service was good, as in my tires are now balanced and rotated. However, it was disappointing that it took almost two hours and I had an appointment. There was no where to sit. It was twice as much time as they quoted me. Also, I called for days and couldnt get an answer. Finally had to email the main office and have them call me to make the appointment. Its always like this. I wont buy tires from them again. The follow up service is not worth the little bit of money I saved. Plus, they closed for months during the pandemic and I had to pay to get my tires rotated. That took 20 minutes and $25, I could sit, and they had free hot chocolate. Id rather pay!

I have been a member of this Sams Club for a little over a year. The prices are really great and convenient. I like the inexpensive gas and the bottled waster (as we drink a lot of it). It is nice to buy something in bulk and have it last for 3-4 months. If you get hungry while shopping after 10am, the snack bar has pizza, hotdogs, pretzels, salads, wraps, and frozen yogurt. Whether its food, furniture, or electronics, you can get some of the best deals that you cannot get anywhere else. They also have an order online option and you can pick it up in the store. I tried it once and it was a complete fail no one ever brought my order and the staff couldnt find anyone to bring it to me....I would recommend going early as this place can get really crowded. Sundays are the WORST day to go as there are about 100 people waiting outside in line a few minutes to 10am to get in. The customer service here is very hit and miss, but mostly a miss. Somedays the clerks are very helpful but most days its pretty bad. First of all, they always have 1 line open and 1 or 2 self checkouts. Why is the self checkout closed? Isnt the point of it so people can check themselves out??? The greeter at the door very rarely has the device they need to scan your phone when you use the scan and go app and check out electronically. Again, the point is that you are supposed to be able to check yourself out. At least 3 times I have stood in line for 15 minutes waiting for someone to FIND the scan and go gun. I have also had greeters look at me like I am crazy because I use the digital membership card that can be added to my apple wallet on my iPhone. Where is the education about the product for the employees? The woman swore she had never seen it before until I told her I was there earlier that day and I had showed it to her about 4 hours ago. Needless to say I was not happy about that. I called one day to make an appointment to have my tires changed. The gentlemen I spoke to lied and told me they opened at 10am for everyone when really they open at 7am for plus members which I am. I am starting to consider not renewing my membership here and maybe trying somewhere else. The prices and deals are great. I have saved about $40 a month shopping here and buying things in bulk. The with the annoyance of the customer service and poor staffing, it may be worth going somewhere else.

Its a club warehouse store, generally, a good place to shop around for many things that in large portion and food package. Like other warehouse club BJs and Costcos workers are nice as a daily basis. Well... Except this warehouse store most of workers seem likely not respecting good to customers. In addition, check out items are one of nightmare in the store: a super slow process compared with any other local stores here in Hampton roads area. This should be minimized for preventing aggressive between store workers and the customers.

I love shopping at Sams Club. They are usually busy, but the facility is large enough that it isnt that noticeable when shopping! A great place to shop or just browse, if thats what you want to do!🏈♠️♥️♦️♣️🚵🏿‍♂️

Sams club has great meat and fresh produce. I always find things for the home and garden that I didnt even know I needed. The pet food and treat selection is also very good. I have used the pharmacy, optical, tire and gas station and had good luck with those areas too.

Understaffed. One cashier open...waited on line for about 40 minutes. Totally unsat. I thought I was in Walmart 🤦‍♂️

Different options than BJs like the nuggets that taste like chick fil a but they need to offer cash option for checking out. Its not a cashless society. That is a reason I would choose BJs over Sams regardless of the different options and the checkout is rediculous.

They keep discontinuing things. Muenster cheese seems to be discontinued. The cheese selection is very limited. Beverages switch out frequently. Its disappointing to be looking for what should be stock items to find them removed.

Nothing special, but the road getting into the parking lot is awful. Good thing its the closest Sams to my house.

Tried to reach the store. No answer after 22 rings. Trying to place a pick up order when I found several items were out of stock, such as water. Wanted to find out the approximate time of restock.

Sams Club is a great place to shop..Early Shopping for PLUS MEMBERS @ 8am! First picks of the club. In the Meat Dept. markdowns!usually no one is in the club at that time...only downfall is when its busy...its very busy..

It was crowded, as normal for a Saturday, but well stocked. This is why I love the app, allows me to scan and pay so I can bypass the line at the register.

Easy entry, no lines and several registers open to scan yourself out.

The lines were really long other than that it was a good trip!

Had a bad experience with a Latino female cashier.She turned on her closed sign when me and my family came thru the line.So I went to another line and she cut the light back off and took the white customer after me.

Bulk supplies and not bad if you time the visit right. Best to use the Sams app so you can avoid the long checkout lines.

The pick-up service is fantastic, order and pay ahead, and they being it to your car. The orders are almost always ready ahead of schedule, and I never wait more than a couple min. The associates are always friendly and pleasant to work with.

Got gas with friend of mine this is membership club I no longer deal with.

I’m only giving this Sams club 2 stars purely because of their parking lot. It is literally out of control and dangerous! They need to do something to redesign there parking lot or have the police there to direct and monitor. The parking lot stays grid locked and people get so frustrated that they speed excessively up and down the aisles. PLEASE hold on to your kids! Someone is going to get hurt out there!

This place is by far the worst Sams I have been in. We often go to Sams while traveling so we have seen lots. We waited un line for 15 minutes to exit after paying. I would never shop here in the future.

I was in Sam’s Club in Newport News today. Noticed their 2lb packs of strawberries were $7.98. Left there and went across the parking lot to Walmart where the same strawberries in the same package cost $4.94. My question is why I am paying Sam’s club for a plus membership when the same items can be purchased across the parking lot at Walmart for less and I am not paying Walmart a membership fee. I have noticed this on strawberries ongoing and usually blueberries and bananas are also priced lower at Walmart.

I like Sams Club for certain things of course one of my favorite being there fresh squeezed orange juice that they do there on site so delicious and so good for you being that its not pasteurized which kills the nutrients and is very fresh straight from the orange not sitting on the shelves for days on indoor weeks even.. they also have a pay-as-you-go scanning app that works really well and dont have to wait in line to check out... also they generally have fuel for much cheaper than anywhere else

They need to have some filling done and have other products theyre taking too much off the counters to bring their own stuff in

Today I was in Sams at the gas station I just put gas in the third gas pump using a credit card, I spent 25 gas and a while ago I realized that my card was declined for a $ 100 transaction. I do not know what happened, I comment if to know if someone else has happened the same as me😏

Ive been a member for many years and when I first moved to Newport News I was bummed Sams club was a bit of a drive from my place so I stop shopping as often but I still come for the occasion items. I purchased a set of tires two years ago and I caught a flat tire. I came to Sams club to have the flat tire replaced. The lady I spoke to at the counter set up an appointment for me to return to have the flat replace and when I returned I learned she didnt even check if the specific tire was in stock. She made an appointment for no reason, basically a waste of my time. There was no tire in stock. I had to order the tire and wait another week for it to arrive to return. I dont mind ordering the tire and waiting for it to arrive. I just wish the lady told me that the time before when I spoke to her so I could have ordered the tire then and not make an appointment to just come in to order tires 🤬

There was only one checkout line open the rest were self checkout. Then the membership desk oy had one person there as well.

Curb-side pickup was wonderful. Scheduled for 5-6pm, but it was ready at 11am! As soon as I pulled into a spot, a worker was nearby and took my name, I didnt have to use the app. 3 minutes later, he came out with my full order. I will definitely return.

Sams Club usually is very good, but this particular one is really bad. They never answer the phone and usually are out of stock on key items. The Sams Club stores in Chesapeake are much better and weve never had any problems at those stores if you dont mind the extra travel on I-64.

Great place lines move fast and customer service is great not to mention the prices
