Always someone is walking around cleaning and stocking up supplies. The staff always greet me with smiles coming and tell me have a good day when leaving. Everyone is very nice including the guest.

This my first time here. The customer service at this location is really great. They took the time to give me and my wife a tour around the gym and answer our questions. I would definitely recommend getting the PF Black membership if you travel a lot or if you plan on bringing a friend to workout with you. The PF Black membership comes with more benefits and gym access, which Im sure you will appreciate. I definitely recommend this gym for anyone whos interested in starting to go to the gym.

I recently retired and as part of my retirement package/ plan G Ill be using Silver Sneakers. I stopped by the Planet Fitness in Newport News to see how I could seamlessly transfer my membership to the SS plan. I was informed that this particular PF DOESNT PARTICIPATE IN THE PLAN. Personally, I think this is a lousy decision on their part as their web site states that many franchises do accept SS. PF should support the elderly population and accept this plan. If Id of known this ahead of time I would have ended my membership just on general principal. A company that doesnt want me now didnt really want me when I joined. I understand that this is my perception of events and I dont understand how much they might make or lose but garnering customer support should be worth something. Im fairly upset about this decision but another gym will welcome me.

Ive visited this club two times, Im a member in Richmond. This is a BUSY club compared to my home club. The staff has been very friendly on both visits and the club is kept clean. Bathroom and locker room were clean. Lots of machines and cardio equipment. The only downside, and you might want to consider if joining, is the availability of the Smith machines. There are people literally camped on these machines, doing an entire workout, and do not leave the machine during my entire visit. For some reason, this doesnt happen at my home club. My visits were between 8-9 am, probably a busy time. Other than that I appreciate the PF hospitality as a visitor.

Pretty crowded most of the time but big enough and enough equipment that its not too bad. Switched from my apt. complexs gym to here due to just needing more workout variety-so far so good. Staff is helpful and friendly. The place is pretty clean for a gym.

I dont go here now with the pandemic still around. But the staff were always nice to me. There is one guy that stands out as REALLY friendly & nice! He wears these cool glasses. He is very upbeat! It was always clean here, and I always feel comfortable in the changing area. They always have supplies to clean your machine b4 & after. When they were closed due to remodeling they were nice enough to direct us to Hampton and they were great as well!

One of the bigger Planet Fitness locations Ive visited in thr past few months. I appreciate the amount of equipment and weights they have here. The trainers work hard here, always willing to help and provide one-on-one instructions. I will return, some day.

Machines were all working and everybody was definitely following the sanitizing rules and mask rules I felt very comfortable working out there and let me tell you that hydro bed is totally worth being a black member!!! Cant wait to try out the full body enhancement machine

Its clean and nice no stress here now its time to open 24 hours so I can used my black card expeditiously because its hard getting benches and working out throughout the day because its so busy

You get what you pay for, but overall it’s a nice gym staff is nice just a little young and self absorbed at times but they’re nice….would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a quick gym to get started at; at a low price within your budget….you just have to be self motivated

Terrible service! I live in Blacksburg but this is the closest location to my Mum when I visit. I have a Black card membership so I can bring her as a guest. Every time I’ve done so they’ve had a different (complicated and poorly explained) sign in process that is quite different from my home gym location. Literally changes every couple months. And the front desk staff is so rude!!!I really feel badly for people that think this is the usual gym experience— if this was the only gym near me I would never go!

Weird atmosphere and staff, extremely rude and they snicker at the patrons.

The sign up process is great and short. There is no hassles and the employees get straight to the point. The employees there are helpful and kind. There are a large variety of equipment, there is even a 30-minute full body workout room which is great for a pre-work workout.

Gym was very nice and had some machines that other locations dont have. Some of the equipment is worn out and broken.

Sorry for not writing a review. I love this place. Everyone is always friendly and helpful.

Its just annoying to pay the same price for a membership but get half of the available hours to work out. I get the Covid regulations and why youre not 24 hours, but how are you charging the same price for less availability?

Like the spacing and environment but wish it would get back to old hours. That was its most important stand out feature. I also belong to YMCA but cant always fit in its time schedules

My favorite place to come and work out. The staff is the greatest! I am always overwhelmingly welcomed everytime I walk in and always happy to see them. People are always good about wiping down machines once theyre finished and there is always plenty of different machines to use or try. Other gyms Ive tried in the past either never had enough equipment or didnt have specific machines to work certain parts of the body. Never dissatisfied at Planet Fitness. And the Newport news location has the BEST front desk crew!!!

I always go between 1am and 3am (I work nights and this is the best time to go, even on my off days). The gym is always clean and the crew is consistent and always welcomed me with a smile. Every time I walk into the locker room it smells good and it is either being cleaned or it obviously has been cleaned recently. Very happy I chose Planet Fitness.

I went at 530 pm. I know this can be a busy time for Jims but Ive never had an issue at a planet fitness with overcrowding.The parking lot was full and hard to find parking space.Most of the dumbbells were off the rack as patrons keep them by their bench and so not share. Numerous patrons stand directly in front of the dumbbells and block access.I decided I would do cardio first and ran for about 35 minutes.I went back to the weights to see if I could do my work out with no luck. I stopped after one warm up set since I had no access to the weights.I decided I would just call it a night and take a shower at the planet fitness. I was the only one in the shower but after 2 minutes of warm water it went to cold water. it got so bad that I actually had to turn the water off while I was shaving because it was too cold. after shaving I want to rinse off it warmed up but did not stay warm for long. As I left I told the attendant about this issue.Too many people and not enough weights.They do not have a seated leg sled press. planet fitness franchise have an option to add certain or delete certain equipment. For some reason this planet fitness did not spend a little extra money and get a good leg press machine. Again this at the type that you put weights on and press.I traveled the nation and visit many planet fitnesses in my travels. This has to be the worst experience Ive ever had at a planet fitness. The best planet fitness Ive ever been to is in Kingman Arizona. I wish this particular franchise would take example after them.

Been to several gyms and you know what? It wasnt that bad. I heard a lot of memes in regards to this place and stayed away but for the price and the space? Not bad at all.

They are doing great with the renovations, although I was sad for them to be closed for more, I also understand. If you are a black card holder you will definitely see the perks as soon as you walk in and hang a left. The changing room has been updated as well. Very nice. The walls look fabulous ....cant wait to see the rest of the Reno. They also have been taking out older machines and updating them which is also great. For an older shopping center in which this is located, they are doing a great job of keeping it updated with the competition in the area. My budget and I thank you 😘

Yesterday was my first time to the gym in 24 years. We were greeted with very friendly and welcoming faces. (No judgment toward us at all) It was quite a different feeling from back in the day.All of the equipment was a little intimidating, but I asked one of the attendants to show me some of the machines for areas I wanted to work on, and he happily obliged. He showed me how to work each piece of equipment and put me a lot more at ease. I left an hour later feeling the best I’ve felt in years. Thank you for creating a space where everyone can feel welcome.

They are always so nice to me when I come in! I love the tanning beds the workout equipment is always.in working order. I can come in and not feel like everyone is staring at me no judgement at all! Thank you for being my go to club!

Well first off I usually make my schedule to go to the gym determines what hours my job has me working. But lately Ive been hitting the gym late night so theres know crowd and the machines are plentiful. Around this time and from my experience its pretty decent since its one of the few 24hr gyms around thats open the machines are decent and it welled maintained.

Been here since it opened and it has stayed a great place to workout.

Planet fitness is a great gym to workout in. Theres no hassles, no judgments just a good old-fashion workout. The staff is also great as well. The only thing I have an issue with is that I can never get into the total enhancement machine. Half the time its either broken or someone is in it cleaning it. And for the extra money in membership that I pay for Im not being able to utilize that machine. But overall, the gym is a great place to get a great workout.

Cool place...staff is so helpful & friendly. I have been absent for some time because of 2 foot surgeries but nothing has changed for the worst only better. I am happy however disappointed that my trainer wont be training because he is the MANAGER!!!! I am sure the replacement is great too

Extremely poor customer service. I was charged the annual fee after I canceled my membership and now they won’t even refund my account!! I will never join this gym again and I will definitely not recommend it! Cleanliness sucks. Never have paper towels to clean equipment after use and parking is a complete nightmare.

I popped in on a whim as I had never been to this particular gym. I was welcomed and given a tour. Brian helped me. He was very friendly and answered all of my questions. I didnt feel pressured to join and genuinely felt like a valued 1st time walkin guest. After the tour, I joined pretty quickly as I felt this was the place for me! Lots of cardio equipment with social distancing in place. Equipment seemed maintained and newer.Overall, the employees seem very pleasant and laid back as well. They greet you, seem to enjoy working there and care about their guests from what I can see. Non intimidating workout environment. The massage chairs and hydrotherapy are a nice incentive. Thanks PFitness! Ps: can we get more mirrors on the other side of the gym :)

Hyper sensitive to just about anything regarding typical gym environment. I.E. slight banging of weights, recieving phone calls, etc. Their no judgement zone is borderline prejudice against anybody who is a serious athlete. I am profiled and sterotyped the moment I walk in the door. Its pretty hypocritical to say no judgement and the moment you walk in you are targeted because you have a tank top.

I workout here two or three times a week on average. The gym has always been clean in my experience and the the staff is friendly. I see a lot of regulars, with a healthy mix of older, middle aged, and younger members. The environment is calm and respectful for men and women alike. If you live near this location I highly recommend this gym.

I use to go to the location in Norfolk which was better. Only by 2 stars obviously. The only thing is this is a small location for a lot of people to it makes it seemed cramped. Theres only 4 stretch mats. It feels like theres not enough equipment. However, the staff is wonderful and it is always clean. People who are going there are nice and seem respectful of your space and time there.

Has plenty of opportunity they are never stocked on the paper towels to sanitize the equipment, some of associates don’t know policy and procedure, and if you want to become a member speak with a manager so they can explain the membership. I was told on June 15 when i registered for the classic membership it was $1 down then $10 a month with in two months will be charged the annually fee which is $39... on June 16 I was charged $30 dollars then on June 17 another’s $10, of course July $10, but on Aug 1st was charged $39 so in 6 weeks my checking account was charged $89 and this is for the classic membership do not go here ! False advertising and they don’t explain anything to you. Then when I call to speak to a manager they are not available this is unprofessional. It’s a scheme if you tell me manager isn’t available and you signed . I signed for $1 down $10 a month 39 annual fee not $89 in 6 weeks be aware

By far best Planet Fitness I’ve worked out in...😄😄😄 just kiddin this place is my home ! I’ve lost 60 Total pounds in a year and I credit this one specific facility because it’s been my peace. Completely clean, very spacious and by far the best staff you could put together for the cause. Continue to set the standard and I’m sure this place will wind up being the face overall for PF 💪🏾 Let’s go !

I have a black card membership, its really nice to bring a friend unlimited visits. You also get half off drinks which are 2 dollars for water or Gatorade so its a deal. You get unlimited uses on the massage chairs and bed so that helps. The staff is friendly and so are the people that come.

I lost my bag today in the locker room.once I let manager know about that she didn’t do anything as a human-being to help me at all instead that she cuss one out saying there’s nothing we can do.not even trying to check cameras at all even I’m asking her to check cameras. After looking for hours I found my bag in parking lot by myself.then I went to manger I told her that you are not helpful and rude she tried to kick me out from gym and cancel my membership.very rude and upper management should kick out this kind of lazy management out from these or give them proper training how to handle situations like that and not to say “hey that’s your problem and you better find solution your own “ .very frustrated. Don’t leave your bags in lockers at all.

It was a great place to visit but my health isnt good enough to work out and get healthy. Maybe after I get the surgery on my back done it will be a good thing for me to try again. Dont let my excuse be your excuse. Get over there and get cracking on that summer time beach body. I will be once I get the back fixed. I plan on turning this keg of a stomach into a nice set of six pack abs.

The staff is very friendly, they always greet you as you come in, and acknowledge you as you leave. The overall environment is great. The people who go there, go there for one reason, and thats to improve their health. No one judges, and they are helpful if you ask for any help/advice. Theres more than enough equipment available to where you can always get your workout in.

THE BEST PLANET FITNESS TO GO TO. So spacious and clean and neat. And cute. Gah. Its my favorite gym to work out. Plus its like ten dollars a month all access to everything! Thats less than 200 dollars you have to spend to look good. They even have personal fitness trainers there.

I love coming to this planet fitness. It takes a few minutes to drive to than the other location in Hampton. Th staff way friendlier than the other one. More space and bigger and nicer locker room. I feel way more comfortable at this one than the other one.

Been going to this location for almost 3 months now. Customer service has been friendly. Locker room has always looked and smelled clean. Lockers always available. Overall, facility is clean and well ventilated. Well stocked. Any equipment that was broken was fixed within a week or so. (Only one has been broken/unavailable since my time there)

A great place to work out get in to shape. The equipment is usually available with the slight chance one or two machines is out if order. I always leave feeling better than when I entered!

I’m fed up with Planet Fitness. I’ve been a member for many years and I started noticing that the volume of the music they play throughout the gym was way too loud. However, when I ask the staff to turn the music down, I am told that corporate controls the music volume and there is nothing they can do about it. They play their music ear shatteringly loud. I can hear it through my in ear headphones. I had to purchase noise cancelling headphones to have even a shred of hope of hearing my own music and not theirs. And even then, it’s still not enough. I am actively seeking out other gyms to belong to and will be cancelling my membership once I do.

Nice location! Only been here a few times but it’s great. A nice mix of newer circuit machines with the old.

Staff is very helpful and mindful of members that come in and new members that join. I found it interesting that they dont encourage body builders to join there, to stay true to their claims and make it a judgement free zone. I also found it helpful that they had papers for trainer hours as well as papers that let you know when the busiest times are.

Planet Fitness offers two memberships one cost $10 with a $29 annual fee plus a joining fee and the other one is $21.99 with a $39 annual fee plus a joining fee. They occasionally drop the cost of the joining fee which is usually $59. They are 24 hours a day seven days a week with the exception of Thanksgiving Christmas Eve and Christmas day and New years Eve and New years day plus when they maitaince the gym. They also have plenty of exercise equipment to use.
