We did last minute takeout (got there about 10 minutes before the door closed for the night). We ordered two family dinners - one meatloaf and one fried chicken. Each dinner came with two sides so we got mashed potatoes n gravy, mac n cheese, broccoli, and sweet potato casserole. Oh, yes, and of course we got The Rolls. And they gave us chocolate chip cookies for dessert! Yall, those dinners were ON POINT. Fresh and hot, nicely seasoned. Simply delicious. Ms. Jocelyn was so nice and courteous on the phone. She took our order after confirming with the manager and helped us at checkout. Very pleasant young lady. My thanks to Golden Corral for the incredible meals.

Customer service was quite disappointing and rude I understand there’s a shortage on workers but if ur choosing to work with the public please try to be polite “worker threw a spoon at the dish…I ONLY ASKED for a SERVING SPOON 🥄 That’s suppose be in dish already” THAT WAS RIDICULOUS

The steak was good, desserts were great, and the choices plenty... Im from an area in Washington state that doesnt have a golden Corral at all.. Was a wonderful stop.

We went at 5pm and the place was very busy from the diners who came just before 4 pm for the lunch prices and stayed for dinner. The wait staff was trying their best to bus the tables but it was hard to find a table. The food was not very tasty even for Golden Corral. If you are one who wants lots of food, this is the place for you. However, unless you are going to eat several plates of cafeteria food, the dinner meal was over-priced. We could have had better food for about the same price. I would suggest going before 4 pm so you can get the lunch prices and stay for the dinner menu.

They dont have a very big selection but I enjoyed the food . The ribs was way too salty though !

Steak is tuff have tried the steak on multiple visits and locations in Maryland & Virginia and multiple times each visit So with steak on my plate atleast 60 times only 1 time have i had a tender piece and maybe 2 times the way i asked for it to be cooked medium rare. If the cook actually understands English then they dont understand how to cook! So with my experience i only go here because someone else wants to snd just for fun i will still get a steak but not to really est it. As for everything else its ok with a couple items being good if they just refilled it. ID rather goto a Chinese buffet where i can find 2 or 3 items i like for $7 cheaper per person if its my choice.

The food was great. Well seasoned, wonderful variety, presented well.Everyone must use gloves at all buffets lines (provided by GC). Really clean. The service was great too!

It was nice being able to get out again. We were able to get a table where we were not surrounded by a lot of other people. Food was good as usual and they required everyone to eat gloves and mask at the buffet.. good waitress who was very attentive, although a little overwhelmed.

Went for breakfast, was late so they were serving lunch as well! Everything was delicious! I was so stuffed leaving, its almost 8pm and I still cant eat another bite! We really enjoyed ourselves. Service was friendly and fast!

Not worth the price. Food was average at best. Came at 9 and your employee Jalen rushed us constantly and kept reminding us of the time you close. Was a very unpleasant dinner and will not return. Your employee is costing you money

At the time during my visit this was the only Golden Corral open. The place was very crowded and the replenish rate was slow. When the food did arrive it was good but at room temperature like it was sitting for a moment. If you want something hot, you would have to order from the grill. The quality of the food was 4 out of 5 stars. Hopefully my next experience will be better than my last. My family and I usually enjoy the Golden Corral. It would also be nice to get a coupon to save some money as well. 50 dollars for 2 adults and a 4 year old is a bit much.

Server was beyond rude. When I tried to tell a manager, he cut me off as I was speaking and literally pushed me away.

Everyone could be nicer, from the cashier, to the server, the steak person, behind the counter help, etc. Everyone. I was given 4 plates to use. I left 3 unused. Good luck!

Had a late lunch at this location. While the food quality and presentation may have stepped up, there were many dirty tables, less cordial staff and limited food options giving it an overall 3 star experience. That being said, I am grateful for the service amidst staff shortage and challenges.

Bruhhh... The worst food Ive ever eaten out, ever in my life.I went stoned and starving, I could only do one trip to the buffett. I am totally blown away at how sincerely bad the food was. Nothing on the bar was a consistent temperature, cold sausage and bacon, ice cold gravy, watery powdered eggs people, can you imagine how terrible that is?? They wont even hook you up with a to go cup for your drink.... Just a supremely traumatizing experience.

The food isn’t bad however the restrooms are. Every time I’ve been to Newport News location, the bathrooms smell like urine (worse than a public port a potty)and evidently are not cleaned properly. I refuse to use them. I will go to Williamsburg location.

Good establishment, overeating like a bear before winter)) very tasty steak, medium rare. I ate a salad with cabbage, a salad with crab, mashed potatoes, cakes, a chiskeyk. The only thing I didn’t like was that I asked for orange juice, and they brought me orange soda ((But then I asked for milk, they brought it to me and I was satisfied! Now I’m going in the car, pleased to visit this place)

Staff was friendly nice and accommodating👍🏾the old people who eat lunch there refused to use gloves when getting food. Wish they would have handled that. COVID is still real Butt holes😡

1st time back since opened. Last time going thereWhat little food there was was cold or dried out. Most bins were empty and stayed that way the hour i was there.Gloves out most stations icecream bowls spoons and plus hot chocolate were all out . Mgr sitting right there while I looked for help but was to busy flirting with the girls he was interviewing.

I was glad that the business is reopened. They have kept up with the gloves and masks to keep everyone safe. My husband and I had a nice meal and we enjoyed the offerings. Some of the food was warm, not hot. It would have been better if it was hot.We will return again in the future as we miss eating out. Thank you for reopening!

Its not the same quality as it used to be. I do like the fact that everyone has to wear mask and gloves at the buffet lines. They have boxes of gloves at every station. I just wish they still adhered to social distance between booths/tables. I have not eaten out in more than a year with this many people around me. Lol. Otherwise, the servers were wonderful and the place was very clean and not overcrowded.

I love Golden Corral I always get the Buffet plus theres a lot to chose from from the Salad bar to having breakfast or lunch or dinner its a cool place to go to I would recommend others to go eat.

It has change somewhat due to covid... Plates are brought to you, you must wear gloves while preparing your plate, salt pepper and hot sauce are also brought to you, if you havent been vaccinated you must wear your mask, but its the same good food, same great service

Ordered three dozen rolls. Received no butter. When I asked, was told you had to purchase it. 12 squeeze packets for $2.50. What happened to the honey butter I could get for free with the rolls?!Used to eat there regular. That has ended.Prices are going through the roof and everything is now extra.

I really enjoyed my visit. My waiter long was great... He was very polite and kept checking on us to make sure we didnt need anything. I will definitely be returning soon.

Food couldve been prepared better. Grilled chicken was pink. (Not fully cooked) fried chicken was to crunchy. Customers behind us was loud. Golden corral has fell off the map since I was a kid. Definitely wont be going back. Did get my 15 bucks worth and a to go. But it wasnt worth it but did it anyway

I’m so glad to see them open back up, and with Curbside. Darryl is the best and deserves all five stars! He is very customer service oriented and he aims to please. I literally pick up there at least four times a week, around the clock for residents in Newport News, and he is always there. Give this hardworking man a day off! Thanks Golden Corral for always keeping is fresh and cost efficient!

This location hasnt been the same since reopening after covid.The food just taste plain, made with no love. I use to love going here but not no more.

Awful experience! I want to scream right now because I’m so frustrated. I ordered 4 meals, 1/2 gallon drink & 1/2 cake 3 days prior for curbside pickup. After waiting a few minutes after arriving, I called to check if there were any issues. It appears no one had a clue about my order, although it was ordered 3 days in advance!! I decided to go inside and they were just starting on my order, preparing it from the buffet line and expecting me to wait…who knows how much longer. The order is already about 20 minutes past the pickup time; Delays and mistakes are normal, especially these days, but this was unacceptably poor service. I asked to get my order refunded & the manager initially told me that they had a process for online refunds and I’d have to wait for my refund. I didn’t care as long as the refund got processed. Apparently, that’s something they say to discourage refund requests because without hesitation the manager refunded the charge immediately. No apology; just excuses & blaming delivery services like Doordash & Grubhub. This disappointing incident solidified a zero possibility of me ordering or visiting this restaurant ever again. If you order ahead CALL a day prior (shouldn’t have to) but that may ensure you get your food at the requested time! Now four hungry souls are looking for lunch and better service someplace else!

Oh, you, Golden Corral. How the perception of you changes from teenage to mid-30s eyes. It had been so long but I fondly remembered your buttered rolls and made my friends come out again while I was in town for the week, much to their bewildered looks. As a kid who could eat anything and tried to, it was magical as I could have so, so many options. But now it was more looking at it honestly like what do I want from a place that still offers a lot, but nothing really hits any particular spot; but thats the idea, you get so full off of whatever is there that you forget about whether you enjoy whatever is on your hard plastic plate with tables and chairs that surely havent changed in decades. You cater to exactly what the people want who go there, and thats on brand, but I realised that I should just stick with my childhood memories.

Ive been to golden corral numerous times. However this was my first time trying the breakfast buffet and I must say the food was delicious!

A great place for lunch when you crave variety. Very clean and orderly now. Masks and gloves. I like that.

The food was very good and everything was very clean. We paid about $50 for two adults and two kids, which I think is reasonable for a nice selection of salads, food, drinks and desserts. I am very pleased that they have extended their hours to include breakfast every day.

No assistance for pickup/takeout orders. Must complete on your own, this was Easter Sunday, they said that must be online order or cater to get them to put food in a box for patron. Why? After all I paid just like rest.

The ladys bathroom was so so so nasty. I mean its the golden corral the sweet tea was really good and the butter bread thats about it!

They have a couple of employees with no customer service skills. The one lady that used to work at the Hampton location is rude as hell. She acts like customers owe her something. Shes actually disrespectful and rude. Disgusting woman!!!!

The food was good however the staff constantly stared at my service dog.

Havent had it in years. Decided to get takeout and the food was hot with nice size portions for the price. They did forget one of my kids meals. I blame myself though because I was right there and didnt check the bag.

Considering that the one in Hampton is not open now, this is a very good second choice. The food was hot and appeared to be freshly prepared. My only frustration was the eggs were undercooked.

We visit around lunchtime. The cashier was friendly and explained the new process. Michael our server was friendly. The place was nice and clean. One lady was cleaning the blinds. Food is fresh, hot and delicious and we able to social distance when eating.

I will never come here again the food was nasty chicken was pink on the inside and the meatloaf was mushy there were flies flying in the food which is disgusting mac and cheese was Nasty. One of my friends is sick right now because of the food.

Just before 9am is a good time to go on a Sunday!

Always have to wait for meat items to be replenished. The leave left over lunch items on buffet for dinner, they just change the pan the food is in. Steak was cooked perfectly though.

I gave this location 3 stars because they are very clean and the staff was very friendly. The food on the other hand was 1 star and that was giving them a gift. Inconsistent temperature on most of it and all the fried food was dried out. Rolls were hard on the bottom. The food quality they had has dissapeard.

Over priced, and the same food. Just fresh, different set up, you have to wear a glove to handle the serving spoons,and your server bring you your drinks and plates and cutlery. But over priced.

They lost my order after making me wait for 30 min for curbside. Had to go in to figure out what was going on. Talked to the general manager and he didnt even care. Walked away from me instead of trying to get the situation taken care of. Very terrible service and operation. The lady from the bakery had to show them where my items were at. Just plain unprofessional.

Server Clinton was great, food was ok. Roast was i little salty, taco meat had no flavor, chicken was moist and tasty. Gizzards and liver was nit good, cook in old grease by the color of the item.

Went on Veterans Day, it was a lot of fun to talk to all the other older vets and it was not to long of a wait. The food was prepared a little quick for obvious reasons but in a big picture view it was great.

I have been going here for 12 or more years. This golden corral has always delivered well with there food. The staff are always friendly and smiling. The food is always fresh and they replace it very often. All around good buffet for you and friends or family.
